Implementation of Dynamic Character Art using Image Association

  • This study is about the creation of a character art using the free association. Character in proposed artwork induces the viewer's unconscious experience associated with it and creates new meanings to invigorate the character. When a character that performs both a linguistic function and a visual image function goes through a free association process, the viewer can induce interest and convey the meaning of the character more effectively. We proposed two ways to express the dynamic movement of the character more actively. One is drawing using various colors and free lines, and the other is the movement of the character synchronized with the gesture of the viewer. As a result of implementing dynamic character art, we can see that the viewer was actively involved in the free association process and immersed in the artwork. The viewers participated in the creation of the artwork, changing the shape of the character according to their various gestures.

윤곽선 추적 알고리즘과 개선된 ART1을 이용한 영문 명함 인식에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Recognition of an English Calling Card by using Contour Tracking Algorithm and Enhanced ART1)

  • 본 논문에서는 4 방향 윤곽선 추적 알고리즘(contour tracking algorithm)과 개선된 ART1을 이용한 영문 명함인식 방법을 제안한다. 영문 명함 영상에서 문자열 추출은 영상을 3배로 축소하여 수평 스미어링 기법(smearing method)과 4방향 윤곽선 추적 방법을 적용하여 문자열 후보 영역을 추출하고 수평 및 수직의 비율과 면적을 이용하여 문자열 영역과 비문자열 영역을 구분하였다. 추출된 문자열 영역에서 개별 문자 추출은 수평 스미링 기법과 윤곽선 추적 알고리즘을 이용하여 추출하였고 개별 문자들의 인식은 ART1 알고리즘을 개선하여 인식에 적용하였다. 본 논문에서 제안한 ARTI 알고리즘은 퍼지 합 접속 연산자를 이용하여 유사도를 동적으로 조정함으로써 기존의 ART1을 개선하였다. 추출 및 인식 실험 결과, 제안된 추출 및 인식 방법이 영문 명함 인식에서 효율적인 것을 확인하였다.

Analysis of Visual Art Elements of Game Characters Illustrated by the Case of Glory of Kings

  • Visual art elements can most intuitively express the information expressed by a game character and play an important role in shaping a successful game character. We compares and analyzes the role design in the skins of the "Five Tiger-like Generals" series in Glory of Kings in terms of color, line, graphic and other visual elements. Different visual elements form different visual impacts and influences, which brings people different psychological feelings and presents different emotional colors. The reasonable use of visual elements gives people a refined visual experience and a comfortable psychological feeling, adding more influencing factors to the "immersion" of the game. It not only can strongly attract the attention and love of players, but also spreads traditional culture of the nation and the country. Therefore, whether the visual art elements of a game character can be appropriately used is an important part of the success of the game work. The analysis of visual art elements of game characters has important learning and research value.

  • Installation art in 20th century shows an expanded trend as a result of material, time, or spatial expansion of subject, therefore subjects could be either materials or non-materials. This trend says that three elements-objet, space, and spectator-is inseparable essence of installation art. Nowadays, the borderline between installation art and everyday human life is getting indistinctive, and both Installation art and human life are becoming a part of another. By adapting the flexibility of installation art into the interior space, more interaction could happen, therefore, people will recognize spatial and visual character of Interior space as a visually satisfying Installed object. The main goal of this study is to understand changing of spatial composition in consequence of expressional variety as a result of dispersion of spatial elements. Especially, this study gives a fundamental ideas about private character of installations art in commercial spaces and expressional character of modern installations.

A Study on Character analysis and make up design in TV action drama 'ya-cha(夜叉)'

  • This study action drama TV drama 'Ya-ha'(夜叉) the actual work practices of the pre-consultation stage through the Writers, Producer, Art directors and in consultation with the opinion of the character set the record of the contents and character changes over time in accordance with characters makeup the design elements were analyzed. The methods of study was used local and abroad related books, studies, publications and cases and the subjects were limited to be four male make up characters in drama 'Ya-cha'. As a result, TV action drama 'Ya-cha' make up design elements and representation techniques were classified as description of skin tone, wound, the shape of eyebrows, hair type, shape of beard and materials and carried out an important role in the character representation. First, presentation techniques changed skin tones depending on character and position and described wound shape as expression technique and materials were analyzed. Second, the shape of eyebrows was based on the physiognomy of the form. And hair type changed volume, thickness, length and texture depending on character. Third, shape of beard is expressed different kinds of volume, thickness, length and texture depending on character. There fore, that systematization of the make-up design elements is useful to express stable characters and make drama for make up in various image genres.

돌봄의 윤리를 위한 미감적 - 윤리적 패러다임 (Aesthetical-ethical Paradigm of Care Ethics in Nursing)

  • The purposes of this study was to find aesthetical-ethical paradigm of care ethics by understanding the unique moral character of care as an art and to suggest the optimal direction of nursing ethics. Method: This study used meaning-heuristic and -interpretive methods of hermeneutics based on philosophical aesthetic theory; Baumgarten's aesthetics, Schiller's theory of aesthetical education and Kant's theory of aesthetical judgement. Result: The concept of care implied aesthetical and ethical character; caring as an art was related to moral feeling based on human dignity und emotional communication in interpersonal-relationship. Caring as an art was interpreted as a moral ideal for the promotion of the humanity und the interaction in personal-relationship according to nursing theories. Philosophical aesthetics could provide the theoretical base for the interpretation of caring as an art. The proper paradigm of care ethics in nursing could be found in character-trait ethics and communication ethics according to the philosophical aesthetics. Conclusion: This study could show aesthetical-ethical paradigm of care ethics in nursing by the heuristic interpretation of caring as an art according to the philosophical aesthetics

ART-1 신경망을 이용한 온라인 한자 인식 (On-line Recognition of Chinese Characters Based on ART-l Neural Network)

  • In this paper, we propose an on-line recognition system of chinese characters using an adaptive resonance theory-1(ART-1) neural network. Strokes, primitive components of chinese characters are usually warped into a cursive form and classifying them is very difficult. To deal with such cursive strokes, we use an ART-1 neural network that has the following advantages: (1) it automatically assembles similar patterns together to form classes in a self-organized manner: (2) it directly accesses the recognition codes corresponding to binary input patterns after self-stabilizing; (3) it doesn't tends to get trapped in local minima, or globally incorrect solutions. A database for character recognition also dynamically constructed with generalized character lists, and a new character can be included simply by adding a new sequence to the list. Character recognition is achieved by traversing the chinese datbase with a sequence of recognized strokes and positional relations between the strokes. To verify the performance of the system. We tested it for 1800 daily-used basic chinese second per character. This results suggest that the proposed system is pertinent to be put into practical use.

Individual Character 산업을 위한 전통 주술 문양의 캐릭터 개발 연구 (A Study on the Character Creation of Traditional Incantatory Pattern for Individual Character Industry)

  • 세계는 점차적으로 각 나라에 대한 정체성, 각 단체에 대한 정체성, 개인에 대한 정체성을 추구하고 있으며, 그 정체성이 타문화 또는 타 단체와 차별되는 특징을 갖는 고유 디자인을 요구하고 있다. 또한 캐릭터를 비롯한 만화, 애니메이션, CF등 캐릭터 관련 산업들이 곳곳에서 대두되면서 개개인의 개성을 부각시킬 수 있는 마스코트 개념의 캐릭터 개발이 요구되었다. 이러한 개인의 정체성을 표현한 캐릭터를 포함한 캐릭터 관련 상품 시장을 'Individual Character" 산업이라 명하고, 본 연구는 위 산업을 위한 차별적 특징을 갖는 디자인으로 한국적 소재를 사용하여 마스코트 또는 수호천사 개념으로 "Individual Character"를 개발하였다. 본 연구는 이를 개발하기 위해, 한국의 전통 주술 문양을 분석하고, 캐릭터 산업 및 국내외 전통 문양 소재의 캐릭터 조사를 통해 12지를 소재로 한 캐릭터를 하나의 인격을 갖는 형태로서 line art 캐릭터, 오방색 2D 캐릭터, 글자 '||'&'||' 그림 3D 캐릭터, 3가지 형태로 개발하였다. 이 3타입의 캐릭터들은 유형별 전략을 모색한 후 각각 캘린더, 도자기, 금속, Animation Source, 생활 용품, 악세사리 등 각종 상품에 적용 개발하였다. 상품 적용은 line art, 2D, 3D 타입에 대한 상품 적용을 목적으로 Re-design을 하여 적용하였으며, 금속, 지류, web, 도자 등 각 소재별 표현제약을 고려하여 각 상품을 유형별로 개발하였다. 본 연구는 이를 통해 전통주술 문양을 소재로 한 "Individual Character"가 한국적 디자인 창출을 통한 문화적 정체성과 독창성을 발굴할 수 있었으며, 캐릭터 산업에 "Individual Character"라는 개념을 새롭게 적용하여, 한 가지 소재로 다원화된 캐릭터를 개발하며, 소비자 대상에 따른 각종 상품에 적용을 시도하였다.

  • It is character of Minimalism that representation as a simple shape extremely & objective acess that start from movement of visual art and part of music that began mainly at New York City in America at the end of 1960 period. Then in processing of development of Modernism Art it can be said that Minimalism reach the top of Modernism with that it carried out such character of formed Purity Doctrine of Modernism Art extremely and realized self-restorational character of Minimalism at the pictures that Minimalism is characterized by objectional clearness conceptual strictness reality and simplicity at the picture and by simplicity singularity uninterality and enviromentality at the sculpture. If we analyze Minimalic character in Interior design dividing into the density of space the principle of compound performance of touch and detail those are moderated and simple space simple and repeated compounding of geometrical line and shape the pure techniques of expression and the simplity of pure srtuctural -beauty in detail.
