Metal oxides have been proposed as an alternative channel material to hydrogenated amorphous silicon in thin film transistors (TFTs) because their higher mobility and stability make them suitable for transistor active layers. Thin films of indium zinc oxide (IZO) were deposited using a High Target Utilization Sputtering (HiTUS) system on various dielectrics, some of which were also deposited with the HiTUS. Investigations into bottom-gated IZO TFTs have found mobilities of 8 $cm^2V\;^1s^{-1}$ and switching ratios of $10^6$. There is a variation in the threshold voltage dependent on both oxygen concentration, and dielectric choice. Silica, alumina and silicon nitride produced stable TFTs, whilst hafnia was found to break down as a result of the IZO.

Printed organic thin-film transistor(OTFT) to use as a switching device for an organic light emitting diode(OLED) were fabricated in the microcontact printing and direct printing processes at room temperature. The gate electrodes($5{\mu}m$, $10{\mu}m$, and $20{\mu}m$) of OTFT was fabricated using microcontact printing process, and source/drain electrodes ($W/L=500{\mu}m/5{\mu}m$, $500{\mu}m/10{\mu}m$, and $500{\mu}m/20{\mu}m$) was fabricated using direct printing process with hard poly(dimethylsiloxane)(h-PDMS) stamp. Printed OTFT with dielectric layer was formed using special coating system and organic semiconductor layer was ink-jet printing process. Microcontact printing and direct printing processes using h-PDMS stamp made it possible to fabricate printed OTFT with channel lengths down to $5{\mu}m$, and reduced the process by 20 steps compared with photolithography. As results of measuring he transfer characteristics and output characteristics of OTFT fabricated with the printing process, the field effect characteristic was verified.

Handover is very important to support the mobility of user because wireless ATM networks have smaller cell size such as micro/pico cell for broadband mobile multimedia service In this paper, we propose dynamic path reservation handover scheme for fast inter-MSC (Mobile Switching Center) handovers To reduce the handover delay for connection re-routing, the proposed scheme reserves virtual channels from nearest common node to neighbor MSC in advance Especially, our handover scheme predicts the number of inter-MSC handover calls at each period by the prediction algorithm and reserve virtual channels The simulation and analysis results show that our scheme reduce handover complexity and has higher reservation channel utilization, compared with DVCT scheme.

In this paper, we have studied the implementation and adaptation of a smart antenna system for mobile terminals. We have designed a smart antenna system with switching beam structure in order to reduce the hardware and computational complexity. Additionally we have analyzed the reduction of the effect of multipath fading due to beamforming using real measurement data from commercial CDMA cellular channel environments. After analyzing the measurement data, we found out that the effect of fading reduces by ~3dB due to the effect of $2{\times}2$ beamforming in mobile terminals with 6dB beamforming gain.

ATM has recently received much attention because of its high capacity, its bandwidth scalability, and its ability to support multiservice traffic. However, ATM is connection oriented whereas the vast majority of modern data networking protocols are connectionless. The alternative to support current service on ATM will be a router with attached switching hardware that has the ability to cache routing decisions. In this paper, we described the router using a switch and simulated the performance. From the results of the simulation, the routing delay was decreased as the number of flow channels. Cell-delay was shortest at 30,000 cell-time when the keeping time of a flow channel was. The line utilization was rapidly decrease when a flow-setup time is 20 30 cell-time. The results of this simulation could be applied to predict the performance of the router using ATM switch.

In this paper, NUDFET(NonUniformly Doped Field Effect Transistor) is presented as an alternative which offers the possibility of reducing the power necessary to operate switching circuits without a substantial loss in speed. The purpose of this NUDFET is to modify the electric field profile in order to cause carrier velocity saturation to occur at a lower voltage than it would occur in the uniformly doped device of the same channel length. The more MESFET and NUDFET circuits are realized, the more accurate model ins the performance of these devices become required. Analytic model ins was replaced by numerical analysis because of the complexity of device configuration. In this paper, FEM is selected because of simpler local mesh refinement and smaller computer memory than FDM. For accurate analysis, this paper has applied the Scharfetter-Gummel(S-G) Scheme and seven-point Gaussian Quadrature rule to assembly of the finite-element stiffness matrices and right-hand side vector of the semiconductor equations.
Objective : Mismatch negativity (MMN) provides an electrophysiological index of an involuntary attention switching process. This study investigated MMN anomalies and their relationship to clinical variables in patients with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). Methods : Study participants were 29 OCD patients and 24 normal controls. We used a 128-channel EEG to measure MMN during a passive oddball paradigm. Then we assessed the correlations between MMN amplitudes and clinical measures. Results : The OCD patients exhibited significantly greater MMN amplitude compared to the controls. Also, the right frontal lobe MMN amplitudes correlated significantly to the OCD patients' Yale-Brown Obsessive Compulsive Scale total scores (r=-0.520, p=0.005). Conclusion : These results suggest that MMN anomalies in OCD patients reflect a monitoring circuit dysfunction, raising the possibility that the OCD's pathophysiology includes glutamatergic dysfunction.

Chaotic oscillators can generate wide-band signals and the spectrum characteristics of the wide-band signals are not changed by switching on and off the output power of the oscillators. When communication systems use a chaotic oscillator, the communication system need not a local oscillator and a mixer used in conventional transceivers. Therefore the configuration of a communication system using a chaotic oscillator is simple and have the characteristics of low-power consumption. In this paper we design and implement a chaotic oscillator. And the test results of the implemented chaotic oscillator for UWB systems are presented. The implemented chaotic oscillator has -8.11dBm of the output power with 500MHz channel bandwidth at 3.4GHz of the center frequency and has about 410MHz of -10dB bandwidth.

This paper describes an interconnection network structure which transports information among processors through a high speed ATM switch. To efficiently use the high speed ATM switch for the message-based multiprocessor, we implemented the cell router that performs multiplexing and demultiplexing of cells from/to processors. In this system, we use the expanded internal cell format including 3bytes for switch routing information. This interconnection network has 3 stage routing strategies: ATM switch routing using switch routing information, cell router routing using a virtual path identifier (VPI) and cell reassembly routing using a virtual channel indentifier (VCI). The interconnection network consists of the NxN folded switch and N cell routers with the M processor interface. Therefore, the maximum number of NxM processors can be interconnected for message communication. This interconnection network using the ATM switch makes a significant improvement in terms of message passing latency and scalability. Additionally, we evaluated the transmission overhead in this interconnection network using ATM switch.

In this paper, we present a simple classification model based on statistical features and demonstrate the successful implementation of a brain-computer interface (BCI) based light on/off control system. This research shows study and development of light on/off control system based on BCI technology, which allows the users to control switching a lamp using electroencephalogram (EEG) signals. The logistic regression algorithm is used for classification of the EEG signal to convert it into light on, light off control commands. Training data were collected using 14-channel BCI system which records the brain signals of participants watching a screen with flickering lights and saves the data into .csv file for future analysis. After extracting a number of features from the data and performing classification using logistic regression, we created commands to switch on a physical lamp and tested it in a real environment. Logistic regression allowed us to quite accurately classify the EEG signals based on the user's mental state and we were able to classify the EEG signals with 82.5% accuracy, producing reliable commands for turning on and off the light.
