  • The DAPA (Defense Acquisition Program Administration) has been operating the DQ mark certification since 2012 to certify the superior technology and quality of munitions. On the other hand, the current DQ mark certification can not directly provide DQ mark certification to software because it is impossible to verify the quality of software alone. Therefore, this study analyzed domestic/overseas software quality evaluation/certification standards to find a way to verify the quality of software in the DQ mark certification. Among them, the method of applying the GS certification according to the international standard ISO/IEC 25000 series to the DQ mark certification was suggested as an improvement plan, and DQ mark certification verified the quality of software and provided certification. An attempt was made to expand the certification scope of DQ mark certification. This paper proposes that the DQ mark can be given to the system software by introducing GS certification to the DQ mark certification. To this end, an improved procedure for omitting the factory audit and verification by submitting a GS certificate for product evaluation is proposed. This is expected to increase defense exports using the granted DQ mark and improve the quality of defense software products through GS certification.

  • This study examines the effect of cosmetic certification marks on consumer behavior. The underlying objectives of this study are threefold. First, it explores whether the certification mark inserted into the cosmetic package-such as marks denoting quality assurances, ethical practices (specifically, pertaining to animal testing), and recycling packaging-affects consumer responses. Second, it investigates whether a higher number of certification marks leads to heightened positive consumer responses. Third, it analyzes the potential moderating effect of consumers' certification mark knowledge on the relationship between certification marks and consumer responses. In the pretest, certification marks with higher recognition were selected as stimuli, and a survey involving a total of 550 male and female consumers was conducted. The collected data were analyzed through ANOVA and post-hoc tests. The findings of this study confirm a significant difference in consumer responses to products based on the certification marks inserted in the cosmetic packaging. Compared to clusters without a certification mark, groups with two or more certifications (recycling certification + ethics certification, recycling certification + quality certification, recycling certification + ethics certification + quality certification) exhibit significant consumer responses. Second, more certification marks did not result in an increase in positive consumer responses. Third, a moderating effect of consumers' cosmetic certification knowledge on the certification mark-consumer response relationship was not found. The findings of this study have implications for developing product promotion strategies that leverage cosmetic certification marks as a marketing tool.

  • This study aims to improve the family friendly certification system by analyzing the actual experience of family friendly certified companies with the certification's incentives and their demand for new incentives. We analyzed 2018 survey data of family friendly certified company incentives and interviewed representatives from 9 family friendly certified companies. First, the use of incentives differs according to the level of corporate classification, number of employees, industry, certification continuation training, and incentive impact. Current family friendly certification incentives indicate that the utilization rate of incentives is high when small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) with less than 300 employees have newly received family friendly certification. Second, the use of the certification mark significantly differs by industry, certification duration, and incentive impact. Interviews with the companies' family friendly certification managers revealed that the incentives that companies use mainly are the Public Procurement Service bid points and priority immigration service. Large corporations hope for strong incentives, such as the National Tax Service's deferred tax investigation, interest rate cuts for bank loans, and corporate tax cuts. Lastly, the family friendly certification mark is a representative incentive used by 60% of family friendly certified companies. For the qualitative growth and stabilization of the family friendly certification system, the family friendly certification mark should be improved to become a more attractive incentive.

  • Product Certification Marks can be used as reliable information in terms of product quality to consumers. This study focuses on how each product attitude of consumers in Korea and China can be changed depending on attachment of product certification mark. Based on nations, product certification marks, and price levels, eight types of questionnaire are distributed and collected where the respondents are allowed to answer product attitudes of two different products in oder to minimize the effect of the product characteristic. As a result, the product attitude of Korean consumers has been showed to more depend on product certification mark than that of Chinese consumers does. The moderating effect of price has been stronger on Chinese consumers than on Korean consumers, and in the case of high price there has been a distinct gap between two countries. This study has its meaning in the way of that the product certification mark has been considered in relation to price level and differently affected product attitude between two countries.

  • Japan launched its regulatory certification system for organic foods based on the amended JAS laws in June 2000, followed by the implementation of regulations on organic agricultural products and organic processed foods in January 2001 and with the implementation of the standards on organic animal husbandry and organic feed by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry & Fisheries in 2005, organic foods have been under integrated and systematic supervision. Certification of organic foods can be undertaken by registered accredited bodies (private certification bodies) or legal entities conforming to the regulations of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry & Fisheries. However, with the amendment of the JAS laws in March 2006, only legal entities conforming to the regulations of the ISO/IEC GUIDE 65 are eligible as certification bodies. Foreign organic products imported to Japan must be certified organic under JAS regulations and must be manufactured or produced by foreign manufacturers certified by local or foreign registered accredited organizations and distributed with the Organic JAS Mark affixed or through importers certified by local registered accredited organizations and distributed with the Organic JAS Mark affixed on the products. It can be implied from the Japanese case study that it necessary to reform the diverse agricultural products certification systems to set up an integrated certification system, and the restructuring of government organizations, reforms of environmentally-friendly agricultural products certification system and the integration of the organic food certification systems are needed in order to integrate the control of the standards and certification systems.

  • The new IFF mode, Mode-5 replacing Mode-4, has already been established by the US DoD for its allies and NATO forces. A IFF retrofit program for replacing the Mark XII Mode-4 with Mark XIIA Mode-5 is in progress in order to overcome the security limitations of the former in R.O.K. IFF certification test for the new mode, Mode-5, has been performed on medium range surface to air missile platform of the Korean armed forces for the first time in R.O.K and this is regarded as a monumental event in Korean defense industry. The present paper is a discussion on the procedures applied to the IFF system retrofit and integration, lessons learned from AIMS test with the US AIMS PO as observer. The minimum modification from the existing Mark XII Mode-4 to Mark XIIA Mode-5 and evolutional adaption from previous design including interoperability are required for the system retrofit. Letter of Certification was received from the US AIMS PO after the tests. The authors propose that the lessons learned and know-how acquired during the tests are managed by the R.O.K Government as the standard structure of a database. It is expected that the use of the database will reduce the developmental difficulties and risk, also increase efficiency in future developments and other projects.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate middle school students' perception of environment-friendly agricultural products (EAPs) and the degree of confidence about the certification mark. Questionnaires were distributed to 444 students of 6 middle schools located in Daegu, and a total of 416 responses were used for analysis. 28.6% of the respondents were using EAPs at home, and 62.0% of respondents didn't know whether to use EAPs at home. The 6 items representing the perception of EAPs were analyzed, resulting in 2 distinct dimensions-'benefits of EAPs' and 'attitude toward EAPs'. Regarding Benefits of EAPs, the score of 'EAPs better for health' was the highest, followed by 'EAPs have higher quality', 'EAPs were better for environmental protection', respectively. The proportion of students responded that 'the amount of pesticides should be reduced gradually' was 65.5% and only 3.4% for 'current level of pesticide use is not a problem'. There were significant differences between male and female students with regard to an interest in EAPs (p < 0.05) and opinion on the use of pesticides (p < 0.05), while no significant difference was found between groups with different education level of mothers. The respondents who use EAPs at home showed significantly higher scores with attitude toward EAPs (p < 0.001), and higher response rate for 'pesticides should not be used even if the price increases' (p < 0.05). Degree of confidence about the EAPs certification mark also affected students' perception of EAPs (p < 0.001). Our results indicate the importance of education for students on EAPs to enhance students' attitude towards EAPs and improve school meal satisfaction.

  • In this paper, safety certification products and safety condition of small transformer is analyzed in industries field and educational facilities. In transformer of 50places, absolute majority is step down transformer to measure of instrument. Most transformers were below 5kVA and 1~3kVA capacity was the mainstream. In industries field, 5 transformers were found without safety certification according to the Electrical Appliances Safety Control Act as cheap product prefer and lack of safety consciousness. Mark & number, voltage, date of manufacture of safety certification must show item of certification. However date of manufacture showed in product of 18%, 9places. As result of thermal imaging camera, running temperature of transformer was showed in below of target temperature. However as a narrow space of transformer and wall, power cable was touched on a ventilating flue in transformer. It was simple carelessness case that surface fouling and temperature ageing of transformer accelerate. Power poor connection, neglect of transformer in production equipment, fall damage by setup incongruity and ground omission were found in case of illogicality item of transformer.
