According to the rapid development of science technologies, a life and development cycle of products are getting shorter and structures and functions become more complex so that the reliability requirement of customers is getting greater for components in the products. However, most domestic mechanical components are manufactured by small and medium-sized companies, who are manufacturing in poor economic and technical condition. Because of this, assessment technologies and equipment to predict and guarantee the reliability are very weak. For this reason, it is the fact that many customers neglect the domestic mechanical components which fail to win the reliability. Korean government has been trying to eliminate the problem by establishing 18 reliability assessment centers in 2000 and performing R-Mark certification promotion and constructions of the foundation for reliability assessment to rebuild the reliability on the domestic components and materials. Korea Institute of Machinery and Materials has been designated as a supervising organization for reliability assessment in the machinery filed for 5 years. In this paper, we would like to introduce effective and systematized 12 steps of reliability substantiation test on mechanical components with know-how we achieved during the period.

With an awareness of the fact that influence of building industry on the environment problems is great, many countries have been endeavoring to construct sustainable and environmentally-friendly buildings. In Korea, the GBCS (Green Building Certification System) has been in force since 2002. Total 6 types of buildings are dealt in the GBCS. Especially, it is expected that the number of apartment complexes, which are the most common type of residences in Korea, applying for GBCS has increased continuously. In this study, we aim to pick out the items requiring improvement for the green apartment complex. Existing 12 certified apartment complexes were selected. GBCS assessment results and actual conditions of design and construction were investigated and analyzed. Total 18 items requiring improvement were picked out in accordance with the average score-to-allotted point ratio. Relevant particulars expected to be helpful for the next design works were also presented.

The technical regulation and conformity assessment procedure of our country on ICT equipments is currently required to have more innovation due to the request of main trade countries, the second phase conclusion of MRA, necessity of expansion of conformity assessment service market and demand of manufacturers. The world's leading advanced countries have already proceeded with innovation based on privatization plan. According to the comparative analysis of the level, it turned out that Japan obtained the highest level of privatization while South Korea ranked the lowest level. According to the research result of examination and certification ability of private institutions of our country, it turned out that our country is expected to have possibility of achieving higher level of privatization than that of the present. Moreover, according to the questionnaire survey conducted to the persons concerned regarding privatization direction, they gave positive response to all the indicated survey contents of privatization direction in terms of "delegation of certification services to private sectors (contracting-out)", "transformation of EMC into private voluntary standard" and "changeover of conformity assessment agent". However, from the view of acceptance and conflict model, it is estimated that starting from "delegation of certification services to private sectors (contracting-out)" seems to be the most advisable plan. Also, prior to privatization, it is required to improve relevant systems such as certification examiner system.

Based on the 121 responses from facilities got Occupational Health &Safety Assessment Series (OHSAS) 18000 certification, the results of statistic analysis show that there is significant relationship between safety climate, work attitudes and Organizational Citizenship Behaviors (OCB).

The purpose of this research is to understand the role of safety climate in the safety management system. The most important finding is the relationship between safety climate and organizational commitment will mediate the relationship.

This paper is to construct the integrated sustainable management (ISM) system. This research focuses on the intergration of two concepts - balanced scorecard management system and the three pillars of sustainability. The system certification, product certification, innovation and participation tools are considered in constitutional elements for ISM system. Finally, this paper proposes the causal analysis, the third assessment, reporting for ISM system.

In recent years, the objective information for the environmental effect of architecture will be furnished to the designer and inhabitant in order to minimize an excessive energy consumption and environmental loads by buildings. In addition, an environmental friendly architectural certification program for a residence, office, and school facilities have been operated to spread and supply environmental friendly architecture. Most of the environmental friendly architectural certification programs proposed in the country are focused on the aspect of the physical environments of architecture in its certification ranges. In the case of a foreign country, however, the certification ranges of an environmental friendly architectural certification program for the school facilities among the programs will be extended not only to the standards for architectural design, environmental aspect, and maintaining and management basis by considering the characteristics of educational effects for students but also to the curriculum, policy of environment, and roles of local community facilities by reflecting a social aspect. Therefore, this study proposes a design and evaluation method by considering an ecological element that will satisfy the requirement for educational well-being that includes not only the requirement for school facilities according to the development of a new curriculum like a space for teaching and learning but also the improvement of the quality of educational environments and the objective of an ecological school.

Purpose: This study wanted to empirically study the effects of ISO 22301 and ISMS certification requirements on Business Performance. Method: For research, a survey was conducted on ISO 22301 and ISMS-certified companies to collect data and use SPASS18 and AMOS18 for statistical analysis. Results: Verification of the hypotheses through the questionnaire demonstrated that BCP, BCM operation, management, and access control of ISO 22301 and ISMS certification requirements, including BIA, risk assessment, BCP, BCM, BCM operation, management, and access security requirements, affect the enterprise's performance (quality improvement, customer satisfaction, financial performance) through the intermediation of the enterprise culture, and the feasibility of the survey paper is high. Conclution: This study has derived the impact of ISO 22301 and ISMS certification requirements on business performance, and based on this, it is deemed necessary to present improvements to ISO 22301 and ISMS certification, and to study future ISO 22301 certification activation and domestic certification, BCMS.

Environmental issues have become gradually important around the globe, which has increased society needs for the environment-friendly construction. In an effort to realize the environmental protection and energy efficiency, the British BREEAM has been developed, which is followed by the USA LEED, Japanese CASBEE and other national certification systems based on their own conditions. In this end, the Republic of Korea has implemented its own certification system named GBCS(Green Building Certification System) in 2002, and now actively promoted the G-SEED(Green Standard for Energy and Environmental Design) after GBCS modifications and amendments. The purpose of this study is to identify possible problems to be encountered in the process of the G-SEED for office facilities and to provide relevant solutions. In this end, three office facilities have been selected, which had obtained the G-SEED. This study has analyzed reasons of change of assessment scores between the preliminary certification and the main certification phases, has identified problems through in-depth interviews with practicing professionals(design, construction, eco-friendly consulting firm) and then has reached a conclusion for improvements. This study will be possibly used as reference materials for improvements of the green building certification system, and further detailed studies on respective parts will be required for improvements.

AQS(Air Quality Control System) is the important part of a car air conditioning system. This device intercepts automatically the influx of harmful waste gas. In this paper reliability assessment criteria for AQS are established in terms of quality certification test and lifetime test. The former quality certification test comprises general performance test and environmental test. Items which pass the test undergo lifetime test which guarantees the extent of mean lifetime with certain confidence.
