Fabrication of high strength structural concrete was investigated by using a mechanochemically Surface Treated Fly Ash(MSTFA) induced by mechanochemical processing through ball-milling of (90 wt% As Recevied Fly Ash(ARFA) + 10wt% cement) mixture, which was compared to the specimen fabricated by using As Received Fly Ash(ARFA) in terms with compressive strength and microstructures. The compressive strength of concrete specimen fabricated by using MSTFA represented 10-20% and 2-7% higher value than that for the case of using ARFA and BPFA in each cases. Increased compressive strength as above mentioned is considered to be caused by mutually increased affinity generated between cement and fly ash during mechanochemical processing.
In the ball milling process of ceramic powders, according to economic considerations for industrial applications, it is very important to quickly determine the optimum process condition with the maximum grinding efficiency. However, it is still difficult to determine the optimum condition for a ball mill with respect to the various process parameters, such as the rotational speed and the milling time. Ball milling was carried out at the same starting conditions with given amounts of alumina powders, balls and water, and was conducted slower or faster or a critical rotational speed was just determined by observing the angular position of the slurry in a semi-translucent polyethylene laboratory container. With respect to the different rotational speeds, which were slower or faster than the critical rotational speed, the particle size distribution of the grained powders and the acoustic intensity caused by cascading of the balls led to various behaviors. From the results of the particle size distribution and the acoustic signal analysis in the ball milling, there was one rotational speed that made the finest milled powder with maximum acoustic intensity. As a result, there was a correlation between the ground particle size and the acoustic intensity, which yields the interpretation that it can be possible in-situ to determine the optimum condition of ball milling by acoustic signal without repeated measurement efforts.
1. Stage crushing by jaw crusher, steel mortar, and ball mill in turn has shown an inclination to increase the distribution of andalusite in coarse particles as well as to increase that of micas in fine particles. 2. Water elutriation was effective for the removal of muscovite and magnetic separation was effective for that of Mg-Fe micas such as biotte and chlorite. The process of concentration and that of purification are diagramatized respectively as follows: Concentration; Raw andalusite${\lightarrow}$Crushing${\lightarrow}$Screening${\lightarrow}$Water elutriation${\lightarrow}$Magnetic separation Purification; Concentrated andalusite${\lightarrow}$Calcination${\lightarrow}$Ball milling${\lightarrow}$Screening${\lightarrow}$Water elutriation${\lightarrow}$Magnetic separation${\lightarrow}$Acid washing.
Coating ceramic balls activate water molecular in water as radiate far-infrared radiation of high efficiency, and then prevent formation of scale and corrosion of pipe. Therefore, but only keep away drop of heat exchange efficiency of boiler, not also remove formed scale. As a result, pipe of boiler has clean and has form thin protection film in inner of pipe. Also, the water treated by rust preventing system using the ceramic balls, that is harmless, tasteless, odorless, and non-toxicity in the human body, and it can use drinking water. This rust preventing system can save energy and protect environment.
Pb(Zr0.53Ti0.47)O3 (PZT) ceramics having different microstructures were fabricated at low temperatures using calcined PZT powders with addition of excess PbO powder and/or ball milling. The effects of excess PbO and ball milling time on the microstructure, the sintering characteristic, and the mechanical properties of these ceramics were studied. Fine powders with average particle size of 0.38㎛ could be obtained by ball milling with 2.5 mm Ф zirconia balls for 120 hours. By the addition of 2mol% of excess PbO to these powders, it was possible to obtain well-densitified PZT ceramics at low sintering temperature of 980℃. Densification behavior of PZT was affected by the addition of excess PbO powder, while, grain growth was hardly affected by PbO addition. It was observed that Vicker's hardness decreased and fracture toughness increased with the increasing amount of PbO. At 1mol% excess PbO, it was shown that the minimum values of hardness and maximum fracture toughness were achieved. In addition, with increasing sintering time, the fracture toughness decreased and the hardness increased.
A Nanosized $WO_3$ and CuO powder mixture is prepared using novel high-energy ball milling in a bead mill to obtain a W-Cu nanocomposite powder, and the effect of milling time on the structural characteristics of $WO_3-CuO$ powder mixtures is investigated. The results show that the ball-milled $WO_3-CuO$ powder mixture reaches at steady state after 10 h milling, characterized by the uniform and narrow particle size distribution with primary crystalline sizes below 50 nm, a specific surface area of $37m^2/g$, and powder mean particle size ($D_{50}$) of $0.57{\mu}m$. The $WO_3-CuO$ powder mixtures milled for 10 h are heat-treated at different temperatures in $H_2$ atmosphere to produce W-Cu powder. The XRD results shows that both the $WO_3$ and CuO phases can be reduced to W and Cu phases at temperatures over $700^{\circ}C$. The reduced W-Cu nanocomposite powder exhibits excellent sinterability, and the ultrafine W-Cu composite can be obtained by the Cu liquid phase sintering process.

In this study, a high energy ball milling process was introduced in order to improve the densification of direct nitrided AlN powder. The sintering behavior and thermal conductivity of the AlN milled powder was investigated. The mixture of AlN powder and 5 wt% $Y_2O_3$ as a sintering additive was pulverized and dispersed by a bead mill with very small $ZrO_2$ bead media. The milled powders were sintered at $1700^{\circ}C-1800^{\circ}C$ for 4 h under $N_2$ atmosphere. The results showed that the sintered density was enhanced with increasing milling time due to the particle refinement as well as the increase in oxygen contents. Appropriate milling time was effective for the improvement of thermal conductivity, but the extensive millied powder formed more fractions of secondary phase during sintering, resulted in the decrease in thermal conductivity. The AlN powder milled for 10min after sintering at $1800^{\circ}C$ revealed the highest thermal conductivity, of 164W/$m{\cdot}K$ in tne densified AlN sintered at $1800^{\circ}C$.

This paper presents the structural characteristics analysis of a high-speed horizontal machining center with spindle speed of 50, 000rpm and feedrate of 120m/min. The spindle system is designed based on the built-in motor, angular contact ceramic ball bearings, oil-air lubrication and oil-jacket cooling method. The X-axis and Y-axis feeding systems are composed of the linear motor and linear motion guides, and the Z-axis feeding system is composed of the servo-motor, ball screw and linear motion guide. The structural analysis model of the high-speed horizontal machining center is constructed by the finite element method, and the validity of structural design is estimated based on the structural deformation of the high-speed horizontal machining center and spindle nose caused by the gravity and inertia forces.
A study of the recovery of tin and nickel from steel ball scraps for barrel plating was carried out through a physical treatment, a leaching treatment, hydrogen reduction and an electrolysis experiment. The recovery of the iron component was over 95% by the physical treatment. We obtained tin oxide in the form of metastannic acid ($SnO_2{\cdot}xH_2O$) with impurities of less than 5% from the leaching treatment. We also recovered the high-purity metallurgical tin at a rate that exceeded 99.9% by the electrolysis of crude tin obtained from the hydrogen reduction of metastannic acid.

In this study, in order to develop the multilayer piezoelectric actuator and ultrasonic resonator, PMN-PNN-PZT ceramics were fabricated by the variations of ball size at sintering temperature of $900^{\circ}C$ and their piezoelectric and dielectric characteristics were investigated as a function of the variations of ball size. When the ball size was 3mm$\phi$, density, dielectric constant$({\varepsilon}r)$, electromechanical coupling factor(kp) and piezoelectric d constant$(d_{33})$ were increased. At the ball size of 3mm$\phi$, the specimen showed the optimum values of density=7.909g/$cm^3$, kp=0.592, Qm=1292, $d_{33}$=368pC/N, $\varepsioln_r$=1502, respectively.
