In this study, the compressive strength and hydration heat of cement paste mixed with cellulose nanocrystal(CNC) and graphene oxide (GO) were evaluated. The difference was compared by mixing 0.1 vol.% ~0.4 vol.% of CNC and 0.05 wt.% ~ 0.1 wt.% of GO in a cement paste with a water cement ratio of 0.3. As a result, it was confirmed that the compressive strength increased as CNC and GO were mixed respectively, and then the compressive strength decreased when the appropriate mixing rate was exceeded. In the hydration heat measurement, there was no significant difference when only CNC was mixed, but it was confirmed that the hydration heat decreased as the amount of CNC mixing increased when used in combination with GO.

Recently, a deep mixture method as a soil improvement method of marine soft ground, which causes less noise and vibration than other methods, are widely used. In this study, for DCM(Deep Cement Mixing) method, one of the deep mixture method, optimum mixing ratio of clay-cement was suggested using uniaxial compression tests on specimens with various mixing ratio of claycement. In addition, the stability of a caisson on tangent circle-type and wall-type DCM treated ground was evaluated using centrifuge tests. As a result, optimum mixing ratio of clay-cement was 28.5% and the stability of the caisson on DCM treated ground was confirmed. However, the lateral displacement of the caisson on the wall-type DCM treated ground was 7% less and the settlement of that was 39% less than the case of the tangent-circle-type DCM method.
Deep soil mixing, DSM technique has been widely used to improve the engineering properties of problematic soils. Due to growing urbanization and the industrial developments, disposal of brick dust poses a big problem and causes environmental problems. This study aims to use brick dust in DSM application in order to minimize the waste in brick industry and to evaluate its effect on the improvement of the geotechnical properties. Three different percentages of cement content: (10, 15 and 20%) were used in the formation of soil-cement mixture. Unlike the other studies in the literature, various percentages of waste brick dust: (10, 20 and 30%) were used as partial replacement of cement in soil-cement mixture. The results indicated that addition of waste brick dust into soil-cement mixture had positive effect on the inherent strength and stiffness of loose sand. Cement replaced by 20% of brick dust gave the best results and reduced the final setting time of cement and resulted in an increase in unconfined compressive strength, modulus of elasticity and resilient modulus of sand mixed with cement and brick dust. The findings were also supported by the microscopic images of the specimens with different percentages of waste brick dust and it was observed that waste brick dust caused an increase in the interlocking between the particles and resulted in an increase in soil strength. Using waste brick dust as a replacement material seems to be promising for improving the geotechnical properties of loose sand.
The purpose of this study was to observe the effect of immersion in water at 3, 5, 7, and 10 minutes after mixing on the surface of three regular and one light-curing glass-ionomer cement by measuring penetration of a methylene blue solution. Early solubility of these cements was also measured and compared with that of a zinc phosphate and a polycarboxylate cement. A blue-stained zone was observed in all glass-ionomer cement, but an inner, opaque zone was observed in only two of the regular glass-ionomer cements. Extending the time between start of mixing and immersion on water decreased the width of both zones in all cements and markedly lowered the loss of substance from the surface of regular glass-ionomer cements. However, time after mixing had no or only a limited effect on the loss of substance from the light-curing glass-ionomer cement, the zine phosphate cement, or the polycarboxylate cement.
Absorbent polymer-cement composites were fabricated by the semi-powder mixing OPC(ordinary Portland cement) with an absorbent polymer. The effects of absorbent polymer on the mechanical properties and the hydration characteristics were observed and the polymer-cement interaction also discussed. Absorbent polymer-cement composites showed the value of total porosity of 8vol% the value of 28 days flexural strength was up to 280 Kgf/cm2 in the case of absorbent polymer-cement composite at 1 wt% absorbent polymer content and microstructure of absorbent polymer-cement composite has been observed more dense than that of OPC paste. Accordingly the permeability of compositewas improved and so the moisture resistance was also increased. Adding polymer did not retard the hydration of OPC. It was considered from the results of IR(infrared) analysis that the functional group of absorbent polymer would be changed from unidentate to bidentate during by the hydration of cement minerals.

Recently, as the use of high-performance concrete has become common, various problems related to high-performance concrete have become an issue. Among them, self-shrinkage of cement paste due to low water cement ratio is known to cause problems in the volume stability of concrete. To improve this, studies related to the mixing technology of cement-based materials and nano materials have been actively conducted. Looking at the results of prior research related to nano material mixing technology, generally, research results have been reported in which nano materials are incorporated into cement-based materials to improve material properties1). Among them, it was shown that the mechanical performance and various types of functionality of the cement composite are expressed. Among nano materials, carbon nanotubes (hereinafter referred to as CNTs) and graphenes are used in a mixture with cement-based materials. Accordingly, this study intends to compare the mechanical properties by incorporating various CNTs and graphene into cement paste.

This study was performed to obtain the basic data which can be applied to use of foaming mortars. The results obtained were Summarized as follows; 1.At the mixing ratio of 1:1, the highest bulk densities were showed by foaming mortars, respectively. But, it gradually was decreased in poorer mixing ratio and more addition of foaming agent. The decreasing rates of bulk densities were increased in richer mixing ratio and more addition of foaming agent. 2.The bulk densities were decreased up to 38.8-55.9% by mix-foaming type and 9.7-23.6% by pre-foamed type than cement mortar. 3.At the mixing ratio of 1:1, the lowest absorption rates were showed by foaming mortars, respectively. But, it gradually was increased in poorer mixing ratio and more addition of foaming agent. The increasing rates of absorption rates were increased in richer mixing ratio and more addition of foaming agent. 4.Absorption rates when immersed in 72hours were showed up tp 3.41-5.85 times by mix-foaming type and 1.05- 1.S5times by pre -foamed type than cement mortar, it was significantly higher at the early stage of immersed time than cement mortar. 5.The correlations between bulk density and absorption rate were highly singnificant, respectively. The multiple regression equations of bulk density and absorption rate were computed depending on a fuction of mixing ratio and addition of foaming agent. it was highly significant respectively.
Ladle furnace (LF) slag, waste from the steel-making process, was incorporated to improve the compressive strength of soil cement. LF slag was mixed to replace the cement in the soil-cement samples with wt% ratio 20:0, 15:5, and 10:10 of cement and slag, respectively. LF slag in the range of 5, 10, and 20 wt% was also separately added to the 20-wt% cement-treated soil samples. The soil-cement mixed LF slag samples were incubated in a plastic wrapping for 7, 14, and 28 days. The strength of soil cement was highly developed to be higher than the standard acceptable value (0.6 MPa) after incorporating slag into soil cement. The mixing of LF slag resulted in more hydration products for bonding soil particles, and hence improved the strength of soil cement. With the LF slag mixing either a replacement or additive materials in soil cement, the LF slag to cement ratio is considered to be less than 1, while the cement content should be more than 10 wt%. This is to promote a predominant effect of cement hydration by preventing the partially absorbed water on slag particles and keeping sufficient water content for the cement hydration in soil cement.

The bleeding of concrete is defined as a kind of separation of materials. The durability of concrete, as well as the quality caused by the bleeding. Therefore, This study is intended to find influence of cement and mixing time factor on the bleeding of concrete. We want to know two factors that determine the change, to provide it to our customers. According to the results, The bleeding ratio increase by the increase of mixing time factor. At the 90 second of mixing time, the amount of bleeding differ greatly from cement properties. This paper presents an experimental study on bleeding ratio, slump and compressive strength properties with three days. In addition, the mixing time is inversely related slump loss ratio, the initial value of the compressive strength is only affected by the mixing time. As a result, the bleeding of concrete was obtained that their characteristics depends on the cement and mixing time factor, also in the future, to derive optimum mixing time for a variety of review is necessary.
