Adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference systems (ANFIS) can be efficient in modelling non-linear, complex and ambiguous behavior of cement-based materials undergoing combined damage factors of different forms (physical and chemical). The current work investigates the use of ANFIS to model the behavior (time of failure (TF)) of a wide range of concrete mixtures made with different types of cement (ordinary and portland limestone cement (PLC)) without or with supplementary cementitious materials (SCMs: fly ash and nanosilica) under various exposure regimes with the most widely used chloride-based de-icing salts (individual and combined). The results show that predictions of the ANFIS model were rational and accurate, with marginal errors not exceeding 3%. In addition, sensitivity analyses of physical penetrability (magnitude of intruding chloride) of concrete, amount of aluminate and interground limestone in cement and content of portlandite in the binder showed that the predictive trends of the model had good agreement with experimental results. Thus, this model may be reliably used to project the deterioration of customized concrete mixtures exposed to such aggressive conditions.

This study was performed to evaluate void ratio, compressive and flexural strengths, and pH properties according to the content ratio of rice husk ash, aggregate size, and neutral treatment time of porous concrete with content of rice husk ash produced as an agricultural by-product. The SEM results for cement mortar with a 5% rice husk ash for the weight of cement formed more C-S-H hydrates due to the $SiO_2$ of rice husk ash. In the XRD test, cement mortar with a 5% rice husk ash for the weight of cement registered a higher peak point of approximately $2{\theta}=20{\sim}25^{\circ}$ compared to cement mortar without rice husk ash. According to the results of the XRD and SEM tests, the $SiO_2$ that was a major chemical element of rice husk ash generated a large amount of calcium hydroxide in the early stage of the hydration process of cement leading to the formation of ettringite. The void ratio of porous concrete with rice husk ash decreased with increasing content ratio of rice husk ash. In addition, the void ratio of porous concrete with rice husk ash decreased compared to porous concrete without rice husk ash. The compressive and flexural strength of porous concrete with a 5% and 10% content ratio of rice husk ash slightly increased compared to concrete without rice husk ash. The pH value of porous concrete rapidly decreased immediately after neutral treatment. Then, it gradually increased and decreased again after 14 days. However, the pH value was nearly the same regardless of neutral treatment time in 28 curing days. Also, for neutral treatment, the pH value of porous concrete showed appropriate pH levels (less than 9.5) in all mixtures for planting at 28 curing days.
This study was focused on the use of partial replacement of cement with glass powder in high strength concrete and also copper slag as a partial replacement of coarse sand in concrete. The high strength concrete was prepared with different mineral admixtures like silica fume, fly ash and rice ash husk in different proportions. An experimental investigation has been carried to study about the effect of glass powder on high strength copper slag concrete. The range of glass powder was 10%, 15% and 20% as a replacement of cement. The range of copper slag was 0%, 20%, 40% and 60% as a replacement of natural sand. In addition to the different percentage of fly ash, silica fume, and rice husk ash 5% and 10% was also studied in copper slag concrete. Thus, a total of 51 cubes were casted and compressive strength test was performed on them. The result of the study shows that the value of average compressive strength of concrete after addition of 10%, 15% and 20% of glass powder are 70.47, 72.01 and 73.31 respectively. The value of average compressive strength after addition of 20%, 40% and 60% copper slag as a replacement of sand are 72.18, 74.38 and 73.08 respectively. The value of average compressive strength after addition of 5% and 10% fly ash as a replacement of cement are 71.56 and 73.22. The value of average compressive strength after addition of 5% and 10% silica fume as a replacement of cement are 72.33 and 73.53. The value of average compressive strength after addition of 5% and 10% rice husk ash as a replacement of cement are 72.86 and 69.49. At the level of 20% replacement of cement by glass powder meets maximum strength as compared to that of controlled concrete and copper slag high strength concrete.

OBJECTIVES : This study is to develop the optimum mixing proportions for cement concrete pavement with using recycled aggregates. METHODS : The mixture varied recycled coarse aggregates content from 50 % to 100 % to replace the natural coarse aggregates by weight. Tests for fundamental properties as a cement concrete pavement were conducted before and after hardening of the concrete. RESULTS : It was found that the variation in the amount of the recycled aggregate affected the compressive and flexural strength development, as well as the chloride ion penetration resistance. As the amount of the recycled aggregate content increased the compressive and flexural strength and the resistance to chloride ion penetration decreased. However, the resistance to freeze-thaw reaction was affected significantly. In addition, the gradation of the aggregate became worse and hence so did the coarseness factor as the recycled aggregate amount increased. CONCLUSIONS : The fundamental properties of the concrete with recycled aggregate does not seem to be appropriate when the recycled aggregate quality is not guaranteed up to a some level and its replacement ratio is over 50%. The optimized gradation of the aggregates should also be sought when the recycled aggregate is used for the cement concrete pavement materials.

This study are decided the mix proportion method of latex modified concrete for agricultural concrete structures from the results of workability and strength test with mix proportion factor. For mix proportion factor, this study are selected the water-cement ratio, unit cement amount and latex content. Also, this study were performed the slump, compressive strength test and microstructure analysis using the scanning electron microscope(SEM). The strength and slump of LMC are dependent with unit cement amount, latex content, and water-cement ratio. Especially, the strength of LMC are not controlled by single mix proportion factor but effected by combined mix proportion factor. Microstructure investigation are showed the LMC are reduced the internal pore volume and enhanced the transition zone between cement paste and aggregate interface. This effect get by consist of latex films in the concrete. Also, this study were recommended the mix proportion method for LMC. These mix proportions method are estimated the mix design for satisfied the target performance which are applied the agricultural concrete structure.
Most compressive strengths commonly used in the construction field are in a range of 240 to 300 kgf/$\textrm{cm}^2$ at 28 days. To get this rage of strengths, however, high-flowing concrete requires cementitious binders more than 400 to 450 kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$ for preventing segregation and sedimentation of aggregates. This amount of cementitious binder generates a large emission of excessive hydration heat, which may consequently induce harmful cracks in concrete structure. In order to reduce excessive hydration heat, thus, this paper aims at fabricating a high-flowing concrete under the condition that cement content is kept as low as 350kg/$\textrm{cm}^3$ by using viscose agents. In a parametric study, effects of cement types such as a ternary blended cement and Type V on he physical characteristics of high-flowing concrete were evaluated. In addition, the influence of viscosity was also investigated by applying two different viscose agents, one in a range of 6,000 to 10,000 cps and the others of 10,000 to 14,000 cps. In terms of chemical admixtures used in concrete mixture, the superplasticizer was Sulfonated Melamine-Formaldehyde Condensate with about 30,000 of molecular weight, and main component of viscose agent was HPMC (Hydroxy Propyl Methyl Cellulose). Slump flow was fixed at 50cm with different dosages of superplasticizer in weight.

The physical, mechanical and freezing and thawing properties of non cement porous vegetation concrete using non-sintering inorganic binder have been evaluated in this study. Four types of porous vegetation concrete according to the binder type is evaluated. The pH value, void ratio, compressive strength, repeated freezing and thawing properties were tested. The test results indicate that the physical, mechanical and repeated freezing and thawing properties of porous vegetation concrete using the non-sintering inorganic binder is increased or equivalent compared to the porous vegetation concrete using the blast furnace slag + cement and hwang-toh + cement binders. Also, Vegetation monitoring test results indicate the porous vegetation concrete using the non-sintering inorganic binder have increasing effects of vegetation growth.

The determination of the effectiveness of the immobilization of blasting dust (waste generated in galvanic activities) in cement matrix, as well of mechanical, physical and microstructural properties of concrete paving blocks produced with partial replacement of cement was the objective of this work. The results showed that blasting dust has high percentage of silica in the composition and very fine particle size, characteristics that qualify it for replacement of cement in manufacturing concrete blocks. The replacement of Portland cement by up to 5% residues did not cause a significant loss in compressive strength nor increase in water absorption of the blocks. Chemical tests indicated that there is no problem of leaching or solubilization of contaminants to the environment during the useful life of the concrete blocks, since the solidification/stabilization process led to the immobilization of waste in the cement mass. Therefore, the use of blasting dust in the manufacture of concrete paving blocks is promising, thus being not only an alternative for proper disposal of such waste as well as a possibility of saving raw materials used in the construction industry.
Cold-mixed asphalt mixture is a widely recommended asphalt pavement materials with potentially economic and environmental benefits. Due to the reduction of natural non-renewable mineral resources, powder minerals with similar properties are considered as new mineral fillers in asphalt mixtures. This study explored the feasibility of using cement to replace natural limestone powder (LP) in emulsified asphalt concrete modified by styrene-butadiene styrene copolymer. The experimental tests, including compressive strength, Marshall stability as well as moisture susceptibility test, were used to investigate the mechanical properties, the Marshall stability, flow value, as well as the moisture damage. In addition, the influence of material composition on the performance of asphalt concrete is explained by the microstructure evolution of the pore structure, the interface transition zone (ITZ), and the micromorphology. Due to mineralogical reactivity of cement, its replacement part of LP improved the mechanical properties, Marshall stability, but it will reduce the moisture susceptibility and flow value. This is because with the increase of the cement substitution rate, the pore structure of the asphalt concrete is refined, the width of ITZ becomes smaller, and the microstructure is more compact. In addition, asphalt concrete with a larger nominal particle size (AC-16) has relatively better performance.

Recently, the usage of polymer concrete mortar gathering an interest as a new construction material rapidly increases inside and outside of the country because it is an environment-friendly and endurable material. However, up to these days, the researches about the polymer composite have not been satisfactorily conducted. The polymer concrete is superior to the general cement materials in the properties of strength and durability while it is inferior in elastic modulus. Because that the members using the polymer concrete have therefore higher strength and ductility than the members of general cement concrete, an analysis equation of high-strength cement concrete can be referenced but it is not applied for the researches about the polymer concrete members. In this study, the flexural properties of T-shaped beam of the steel- and GFRP-reinforced polymer concrete are analyzed to examine the suggested analysis equation. Results of this experimental researches are to be used as the basic data in a structural design of the polymer concrete.
