관형 Pt-라이닝 반응기를 이용한 가압 황산분해반응 (Decomposition of Sulfuric Acid at Pressurized Condition in a Pt-Lined Tubular Reactor)

  • Sulfur-Iodine (SI) cycle, which thermochemically splits water to hydrogen and oxygen through three stages of Bunsen reaction, HI decomposition, and $H_2SO_4$ decomposition, seems a promising process to produce hydrogen massively. Among them, the decomposition of $H_2SO_4$ ($H_2SO_4=H_2O+SO_2+1/2O_2$) requires high temperature heat over $800^{\circ}C$ such as the heat from concentrated solar energy or a very high temperature gas-cooled nuclear reactor. Because of harsh reaction conditions of high temperature and pressure with extremely corrosive reactants and products, there have been scarce and limited number of data reported on the pressurized $H_2SO_4$ decomposition. This work focuses whether the $H_2SO_4$ decomposition can occur at high pressure in a noble-metal reactor, which possibly resists corrosive acidic chemicals and possesses catalytic activity for the reaction. Decomposition reactions were conducted in a Pt-lined tubular reactor without any other catalytic species at conditions of $800^{\circ}C$ to $900^{\circ}C$ and 0 bar (ambient pressure) to 10 bar with 95 wt% $H_2SO_4$. The Pt-lined reactor was found to endure the corrosive pressurized condition, and its inner surface successfully carried out a catalytic role in decomposing $H_2SO_4$ to $SO_2$ and $O_2$. This preliminary result has proposed the availability of noble metal-lined reactors for the high temperature, high pressure sulfuric acid decomposition.

촉매연소를 이용한 동심 원관형 반응기 내의 수증기 개질 반응에 관한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Study of Steam Reforming Assisted by Catalytic Combustion in Concentric Annular Reactor)

  • 촉매연소를 열원으로 하여 수증기 개질 반응을 수행하는 동심 2중관 원관형 반응기에서의 반응 및 열전달 특성을 제시하였다. 동심 2중관 반응기는 각각 연소 촉매와 개질 촉매가 장입된 충전층 반응기로 제작하였으며 개질 반응인 흡열 반응과 발열 반응인 연소 반응의 열적 거동을 실험적으로 연구하였다. 연소용 혼합 가스는 MCFC(용융탄산염 연료전지) 연료극에서 슬립(slip)되는 합성가스를 성분별로 용량에 맞게 공급 하였으며, 개질 반응에서는 적당한 수증기/탄소비를 고정하여 실험하였다. 이 연구를 토대로 수소 생산량이 최대가 되는 개질 측 반응 온도분포를 예측하기 위한 반 경험적 고찰을 수행하였고 이는 장차 이 연구에서와 같은 연소반응과 개질반응이 복합된 수소생산용 개질기에 대한 기본설계 지침을 제시할 수 있을 것이다.

  • The reaction characteristics of an integrated reactor with steam reformer and catalytic combustor using anode offgas for high temperature fuel cells such as MCFC and SOFC have been experimentally investigated in the present study. The coupled reactor had a coaxial cylindrical shape, and the inner and the outer tube was packed with combustion catalysts and reforming catalysts, respectively. Thus, the endothermic steam reforming could proceed by absorbing heat from catalytic combustion of anode offgas. Results show that increasing inlet temperature and decreasing excess air ratio increased the reformer temperature, which led to the increase in $H_2$ yield. The reforming performance for SOFC conditions was better than that for MCFC conditions since the composition of flammable components became smaller for MCFC cases. Measured reformate composition under various test conditions correlated well with thermal equilibrium composition.

축열식 촉매 산화(RCO) 반응의 성능 최적화를 위한 전산 해석 (Numerical Calculations for the Optimal Performance of Regenerative Catalytic Oxidation(RCO))

  • 본 논문에서는 RCO 반응기의 최적 조업 조건을 도출하고자 현재 조업 중인 RTO 반응기 촉매층의 압력분포, 유속분포, 유선장, 체류시간, 온도분포 등에 대하여 분석하였고 최적의 조업 조건을 도출하기 위한 전산유체해석을 수행하였다. 전산 해석 결과, 현재 조업중인 반응기 촉매층의 축열재로 인한 압력손실은 크지 않은 것으로 나타났으며, 세라믹 필터 이후 유속은 1.8~2.7 m/s로 특별한 편류없이 비교적 안정적 유속분포를 보이고 있었다. 기류분포를 좀 더 개선하려고 한다면 설비 내부에 플래넘과 촉매층 접속 구간 연장 등의 방법을 고려할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다. 그러나 기류 안내판이나 다공판 부착 등의 방법은 큰 효과는 없을 것으로 나타났다.

  • Transient kinetics of $NH_3$ adsorption/desorption and of SCR(selective catalytic reduction) of NO with $NH_3$ were studied over vanadium based catalysts, such as $V_2O_5/TiO_2$ and $V_2O_5-WO_3/TiO_2$. In the present catalytic reaction process, NO adsorption is neglected while $NH_3$ is strongly chemisorbed on the catalytic surface. Accordingly, it is ruled out the possibility of a reaction between strongly adsorbed $NH_3$ and NO species in line with the hypothesis of an Eley-Rideal mechanism. The present kinetic model assumes; (1) non-activated $NH_3$ adsorption, (2) Temkin-type $NH_3$ coverage dependence of the desorption energy, (3) non-linear dependence of the SCR reaction rate on the $NH_3$ surface coverage. Thus, the surface heterogeneity for adsorption/desorption of $NH_3$ is taken into account in this model. The present study extends the pure chemical kinetic model based on a powdered-phase catalytic system to the chemico-physical one applicable to a realistic monolith reactor.

  • 추진제로써 아산화질소를 활용하기 위해 아산화질소의 촉매 분해 특성에 대한 연구를 수행하였다. 아산화질소를 분해하기 위해 Ru와 Pt 촉매를 $Al_2O_3$ 지지체에 함침법을 이용하여 담지하였고, 관형 반응기를 사용하여 GHSV와 반응온도에 따른 아산화질소의 전환율을 측정하였다. GHSV는 낮을수록, 반응온도는 높을수록 전환율이 높았고, Ru/$Al_2O_3$ 촉매가 Pt/$Al_2O_3$ 촉매보다 우수한 성능을 보였다.

Utilization of biofilter/photo-catalytic reactor system for the simultaneous treatment of hydrogen sulfide and toluene from waste-air

  • Hybrid시스템의 운전결과 황화수소의 removal efficiency는 황화수소의 inlet load가 $200g/m^{3}/h$에서 removal efficiency가 급격히 감소하여 약 60%의 수준을 유지하였다. 또한 톨루엔에 대한 removal efficiency는 거의 100%를 유지하다가 톨루엔의 inlet load가 $644g/m^{3}/h$로 증가할 때에는 약 60%로 감소하였다. 이와 같은 Hybrid시스템 운전결과로 부터 바이오필터만을 이용하여 황화수소와 톨루엔을 동시처리할 때보다 removal efficiency가 제고되었음이 관찰되었다.

  • A fluidized bed reactor is made with quartz. The size of FBR is 0.055 m I.D. and 1.0 m in height. The FBR was employed for the thermocatalytic decomposition of propane to produce hydrogen without $CO_{2}$. The fluidized bed was proposed for the continuous withdraw of product carbons from the reactor. Carbon black DCC-N330 is used to decompose the propane gas. The propane decomposition reaction over carbon black catalyst in a fluidized bed reactor was carried out the temperature range of 600 ${\sim}$ 800 $^{\circ}C$, propane gas velocity of 1.0 ${\sim}$ 4.0$U_{mf}$($1U_{mf}$ = 0.61cm/s) and the catalyst loading of 100 ${\sim}$ 200g. Production of $H_{2}$ such as other reaction temperature, gas velocity, catalytic loading on the reaction rates was investigated. The carbon depositied on the catalyst surface was observed by FE-SEM. The particle size of the carbon black was observed by Particle size analyzer. Resulting production in the experiment was not only hydrogen but also several by-products such as methane, ethylene, ethane, and propylene.

공기순환장치 적용 오존 플라즈마 살균장치 개발 (Development of Ozone Plasma Sterilizer with Air Circulation Device)

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study was to develop a new sterilization plasma device that would be proficient at sterilizing and removing pathogenic bacteria and viruses, and applicable to air purification systems. Methods: In order to understand the performance characteristics, the discharge characteristics of a packed bed DBD reactor and the ozone reduction characteristics of an ozone filter installed at the outlet of the reactor were investigated. Results: The novel packed-bed DBD reactor was proposed, and it was confirmed that the plasma discharge was uniformly and stably discharged throughout the entire layer, and sufficient ozone was generated for sterilization. The ozone filter was tested for three methods: adsorption, adsorption-decomposition, and catalytic decomposition. When the filter thickness was 30 mm, the ozone concentrations were 0.03 ppm, 0.01 ppm, and 0.21 ppm, respectively. The adsorption and adsorption-decomposition methods satisfied the EPA standard of less than 0.05ppm, but the catalytic decomposition method did not. Conclusions: It was confirmed that the adsorption-decomposition method has relatively excellent ozone filter performance and can provide the best ozone filter.

소각로 운영조건에 따른 연소배가스 특성 연구 (The study of combustion gas characteristic by incinerator operation condition.)

  • 본 연구는 경기도 A지역 자원회수시설에서 연소온도의 변화에 따른 NOx, SOx, CO, HCL, DUST의 발생변화와 보일러 배출가스 온도, 보일러 출구산소 농도, 반건식 반응탑 출구온도, 촉매탑온도, 배출가스 온도의 변화를 분석하였다. SOx, CO, Hcl, DUST는 자원회수시설 내의 연소온도가 상승함에 따라 거의 5 ppm 미만의 일정한 값을 유지한 반면 NOx 는 40 ppm에서 70 ppm으로 증가하는 추세였다. 한편 보일러 배출가스 온도와 촉매탑 온도는 일정치를 유지하였으나 보일러 출구의 산소농도는 조금씩 감소하는 결과를 나타내었다.
