  • This study aims to examine the reasons of changes in motivation of pre-service teachers who major in environmental education. Qualitative case study methods were adopted to collect and analyze data from six(6) pre-service teachers in environmental education department. Researchers conducted semi-structured interviews with them on the levels of motivation toward their studios. The study results are as follows. The levels of motivation toward their studies were shown differently by each of the pre-service teachers. Some of the pre-service teachers reported that their levels of motivation toward environmental education had changed since the college entrance. The reasons for the changes include 'suitability of environmental education to personal propensity,' 'college courses they took', and 'personal experiences.' Some of the pre-service teachers reported that the levels of motivation for their majors did not changed since he or she was pursuing other goals rather than being an environmental educator.

  • I have done a case study on individual level based-organizational behavior textbooks published in Korea and USA. The objects are 'organizational behavior' by Su Yong Jung and 'organizational behavior' by Im Chang Hee in Korea, and 'organizational behavior' by Schermerhorn, Osborn, Uhl-Bien, & Hunt and 'organizational behavior' by Robbins, & Judge. The goal of this study is to identify the differences of the perspectives on the individual level based-organizational behavior between Korean and American textbooks. This research finding shows that it is valid to classify organizational behavior into such categories as individual differences, attitude, emotion & stress, perception & learning, and motivation in the Korean textbooks for the better future study.

  • This paper introduces a case-building algorithm which can determine automatically a desired design case by categorizing known-variables and unknown-variables among design variables. Common CAD programs use a case-selection technique, where a programmer sets initially a few of design cases and then users can only choose one of the given cases. The case-building technique is a powerful tool for the expert computer-aided design technology.

  • This paper provides a numerical solution for multiple confocal elliptic dissimilar cylinders. In the problem, the inner elliptic notch is under the traction free condition. The medium is composed of many confocal elliptic dissimilar cylinders. The transfer matrix method is used to study the continuity condition for the stress and displacement along the interfaces. Two cases, or the infinite matrix case and the finite matrix case, are studied in this paper. In the former case, the remote tension is applied in y- direction. In the latter case, the normal loading is applied along the exterior elliptic contour. For two cases, several numerical results are provided.

  • This study is to decide each level ordering policy for deterministic demand in multilevel distribution system. The ordering policy is used the combinations of EOQ and LTC. The combinations of EOQ and LTC are 4 cases. Case 1 : Regional Warehouse∼EOQ, Central Warehouse∼EOQ. Case 2 : Regional Warehouse∼EOQ, Central Warehouse∼LTC. Case 3 : Regional Warehouse∼LTC, Central Warehouse∼EOQ. Case4 : Regional Warehouse∼LTC, Central Warehouse∼LTC. The criterion is to minimize total cost per year.

  • Perhaps one of the most versatile approaches to learning in practical domains lies in case based reasoning. To date, however, most case based reasoning systems have tended to focus on relatively simple domains. The current study involves the development of a decision support system for a complex production process with a limited database. This paper presents a set of critical issues underlying CBR, then explores their consequences for a complex domain. Finally, the performance of the system is examined for resolving various types of quality control problems.

  • The purpose of this paper is to introduce the development of a new Lesson Video-Case Lab (LVCL) program in Suzhou, China. This program involves the creation of several series of hypermedia video-cases on teaching and learning designed to facilitate mathematics teachers' professional development. Each of these video-cases consists of lesson clips, case questions, interviews with experts, comments by peers, responses by students and other related resources. The study has implications pertaining to the use of technology in teacher development, the production of hypermedia video-cases, as well as research on case-based pedagogy and pedagogy in general.

  • This paper presents results from a study concerning the capability afforded by the RKPM (reproducing kernel particle method) meshfree analysis formulation to predict responses of concrete and UHPC components resulting from projectile impacts and blasts from nearby charges. In this paper, the basic features offered by the RKPM method are described, especially as they are implemented in the analysis code KC-FEMFRE, which was developed by Karagozian & Case (K&C).
