  • This study was carried out to survey the high ozone episode of summertime in Busan. The selected day was July 18, 1999 and August 24, 2001 which recorded exceed to 12ppb/hr at 3 station in Busan simultaneously. In case July 18, 1999, thick cloud and variable wind made weak ozone concentration during morning hour. And increase of ozone concentration by revolution of mixed layer for morning hour did not occur in this case study day. Photochemical reaction by strong radiation after 1100LST made sharp increase rate of ozone concentration(50ppb/hr). In case August 24, 2001, the meteorological condition of this day was not general wind with gradient force, very clear day with less cloud amount, high insolation and sunshine. Dongsamdong, Beomcheondong, Daeyeondong, and Sinpyeongdong had double peak which twice maximum concentration in the early afternoon and late afternoon. Ozone concentration of this day was in inverse proportion to Nitrogen oxide strongly. Ozone concentration exceed to 60ppb/hr occurred at 1400LST, continued to 2300LST.

  • Removal of spilled oil over the sea and the river has become one of the urgent problems in these days. Removing oil using mechanical devices by adhesion method is known to be closely related with the problem of estimating the thickness of film remaining on the surface of solid withdrawn from a quiescent liquid. In the present study a series of experimental results are compared with the analytic estimation for the thickness of film remaining on the solid surface using non-dimensional analysis. For the case of pure water both results show the remarkable agreement. However, discrepancy has been found for the case of Bunker C oil and diesel oil. The analytic estimation over-predicts the experimental value for the case of Bunker C oil and under-predicts it for the case of diesel oil. Further study is required to investigate the real situation including a contact angle and the property difference between oil and water.

  • A lot of research works in the BPM area focuses on the development of new techniques in process mining. Even though the application of process mining to analyze real life process logs is important, only few case studies are available. Thus, in this paper, we conduct a case study on how to analyze a real life process log which comes from a Korean company in the heavy industry area. We analyze a customer service process that consists of a series of activities to enhance the level of customer satisfaction. In this case study, five research questions are derived based on collected questions from the company. Then we focus on bottleneck analysis, basic performance analysis and pattern analysis that are selected in order to answer the research questions. The analysis shows some abnormal behaviors in the process and possible ways to improve current processes are suggested.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the muscle power and muscle endurance, situp and bend of back in age group and regional group. The mesurment of muscle power and muscle endurance was performed on 156 males and 160 fimales. The results of study were as follows. 1. Right grip showed significant difference by age group, but no significant differ ence by reginal group in male's case. 2. Left grip showed significant difference by age group but no significiant differ ence by regional group in male's case. 3. Back strength showed significant difference by age group and reginal group. 4. Sit-up showed significant difference by age group but no significant difference by regional group in male's case. 5. Bed of back showed significant difference by age group but no significant differ ence by regional group in male's case. 6. Jump showed significant difference by age group and reginal group.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the imagebased atmospheric correction models using the data from Landsat Enhanced Thermal Mapper Plus (ETM+) that have quite similar spectral characteristics to the forthcoming Korea Multi-Purpose SATellite (KOMPSAT)-2 Multi-Spectral Camera (MSC), and the in-situ measured surface reflectance data during satellite overflight. The main advantage of this type of correction is that it does not require in-situ measurements during each satellite overflight. While substantial differences are present between Top-Of-the Atmosphere (TOA) reflectance and in-situ measurements, the results showed that Case 1 based on COST model gives most accurate results among three cases. The accuracy of Case 2 is very close to Case 1 and its values are smaller than in-situ data. No notable features appear between some bands in the Case 3 and in-situ data. It is expected from this study that if the current methods are applied to the IKONOS high resolution data, we will be able to develop the suitable atmospheric correction methods for MSC data.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this case study is to report the effect of oriental and western medicine combination therapy for the Asthma during the period of pregnancy. Methods: We treated the patient who had the Asthma during the period of pregnancy and visited Dongshin University oriental hospital. The patient in this case was admitted for 9days due to the Asthma on the twenty-third week period of pregnancy. In consideration of pregnancy, this patient was treated with oriental and western medicine combination treatments such as herb medicine, acupuncture, herbal acupuncture therapy, and so forth. Results: There was remarkable improvement in condition of the patient, treated by oriental and western medicine combination therapy. Conclusion: We confirmed that western medicine treatment is effective in curuing with an urgent symptoms, but there is a limit to complete recovery or prevention. On the other hand. it proves that oriental medicine treatment is proficient with continuous treatment effect, but further studies are needed.

  • In this practical case study I studied the launching process of Samgak gimbab(the triangle type of rice), which is one if the best selling products to the young generation convenience store these days. And also explained how to down the cost of samgak gimbab to the level of customer's satisfaction. This case is related to 'S' company's strategy. I studied also the generalization of marketing policy especially product development in th convenience store.

  • The purpose of this case study is to report the effect of oriental medical treatment on chronic tension-type headache. Despite the patient was treated by cervical nerve block for headache, headache was not improved. We diagnosed chronic tension-type headache according to ICHD-II(The International Classification of Headache Disorders) and Qi deficiency, dampness and phlegm by oriental differential diagnosis of symptom and signs. We applied herbal medicine, acupuncture, moxibustion and cupping therapy for hospitalization(7 days). Oriental medical treatment may have effective results in treating chronic tension-type headache that was not improved by cervical nerve block treatment. But this is a single case study, so further case-series research should be compiled.

  • With the development of information and Internet technology, traditional museums have been long followed the trend of integrating innovative technological elements into the changed museums. It is necessary that the museums seize the opportunity of the trend transforming into smart museums, the key is to grasp the characteristics and laws of the Internet era, and use Internet thinking to explore the future development path. However, there are few studies on Internet thinking among the existing results. On the other hand, most of the relevant actual case studies still focus on the micro-level, which has obvious limitations. This paper will start from the current situation and trend, focus on the Palace Museum as a case study object, and discuss the problems and characteristics, so as to put forward the thinking about the development of smart museums in four aspects to explore the optimal path of transformation for smart museums.

  • Employability is a critical issue in construction education. Employability is more than students obtaining employment upon graduation. The concept is far more ranging, and should encompass enabling students to acquire the knowledge, personal and professional skills and encouraging attitudes that will support their future development and employment. This paper describes two case studies relating to how the true concept of employability can be incorporated into the construction higher education curriculum. Case study 1 was a collaborative venture with contributions from a higher education provider, employers, students and a professional body (Association of Building Engineers). It outlines the whole process from course inception through to graduation and feedback. Thus it presents a valid model for other higher education providers of construction courses to adapt or adopt. Case study 2 outlines how the opportunity of a degree programme revalidation process was utilized to introduce modules which would enhance students' employability on graduation.
