내용기반 검색을 이용한 선박매매 정보추출 에이전트의 구현에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Implementation of Information Extraction Agency for Ship Sale and Purchase using Content Based Retrieval)

  • 정보 추출 작업에서의 처리지연은 인터넷 문서의 분류나 표현규칙이 아직 표준화되어 있지 않아 특정 요소에 대한 사용자의 정보 요구를 정확하게 인식하지 못하기 때문이다. 또한 정보추출에 wrapper 규칙을 사용하는 경우 같은 규칙을 서로 다른 문서에는 적용할 수 없는 확장성의 결여와 같은 문제점이 있다. 선박매매와 같이 선박의 거래를 위해 선박가격, 선박 제원, 인도 장소, 검사장소 등의 판매정보만으로도 거래가 가능한 경우에는 선박매매와 관련된 온톨로지(Ontology)를 이용하여 내용기반 검색 (content based retrieval)을 수행하면 선박 매매에 필요한 정보를 선택적으로 추출할 수 있다. 이 방법은 사이트마다 개별적으로 wrapper를 구성하거나 인터넷 문서에서 불필요한 정보를 단계적으로 제거해 나가는 방법을 개선하여 정보 추출 과정을 단순화시키는 이점을 제공한다.

강의자원 검색시스템에 관한 연구 (A Study on Retrieval System of Course Materials)

  • 이 연구는 강의지원서비스에 대한 사례분석을 통해 강의지원서비스의 기본 구성요소를 추출하였고, 강의자원의 공유를 위한 OCW현황을 살펴보았다. 각 대학에서 개설되는 교과목과 관련한 강의자원들에 대한 의미기반 검색이 가능한 온톨로지 기반 검색시스템의 모형을 설계하고 구축하였다. 구축된 시스템의 평가를 위해 기존 키워드 시스템과의 검색결과를 비교 분석하였다. 이를 통해 온톨로지 기반시스템이 단순 키워드 검색에 비해 적합한 검색결과를 나타냈고, 대학간 자원 공유에도 더 효과적임을 제시하였다.

엔트로피에 기반한 영상분할을 이용한 영상검색 (Image Retrieval Using Entropy-Based Image Segmentation)

  • A content-based image retrieval method using color, texture, and shape features is proposed in this paper. A region segmentation technique using PIM(Picture Information Measure) entropy is used for similarity indexing. For segmentation, a color image is first transformed to a gray image and it is divided into n$\times$n non-overlapping blocks. Entropy using PIM is obtained from each block. Adequate variance to perform good segmentation of images in the database is obtained heuristically. As variance increases up to some bound, objects within the image can be easily segmented from the background. Therefore, variance is a good indication for adequate image segmentation. For high variance image, the image is segmented into two regions-high and low entropy regions. In high entropy region, hue-saturation-intensity and canny edge histograms are used for image similarity calculation. For image having lower variance is well represented by global texture information. Experiments show that the proposed method displayed similar images at the average of 4th rank for top-10 retrieval case.

고서 검색시스템의 설계에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Designing of Korean Oldbook Retrieval System)

  • The Korean oldbooks that represent the spiritual product of the ancestors in the form of physical shape are absolute need for retrieval and new evaluation through research and discovery. To earn Korean oldbooks that have these values, catalogue of Korean oldbooks and annotation book were used as secondery materials. But since there haven't been publications of Korean oldbook catalogue that can be used as Korean oldbook search engine, Korean oldbooks that has same title was valued differently by the different authors and defined differently according to bibliographic study. And there even has been a case when, even though there is same edition it was consider the only one. Therefor it can cause a lot of mistakes when you can't over look totally. So you can expert better results in structuring DB with computer then publicized catalogue of Korean oldbooks. But at this present time, since all of the DB that have been structured are not unified as one system and operated separately in their organizations, there has been a problem like creating different bibliographic information for same Korean oldbooks. In this study, as one of the solution to the problems of searching Korean oldbooks, we are making a plan to develop the unified retrieval system of Korean oldbooks using hypertext system. And with these finding, we are suggesting the further way of developing retrieval system of Korean oldbooks.

메타데이터기반 정보구조화를 통한 지능형 친환경 법령정보 검색 (Intelligent Information Search of Environmental Regulations through Metadata-based Information Structurization)

  • With the emergence of environment-friendly paradigms, many countries around the world have enacted various laws to take care of environmental pollution-related problems. The goal of these environmental laws and regulations was to properly respond to rapid environmental pollution. Because of the simultaneous enactment of these laws on diverse pollution sources, however, a variety of problems, including an unclear correlation among these laws, have occurred. As a result, workers have found it hard to collect and use the related laws and regulations. Therefore, this study proposes a metadata-based information retrieval method for the efficient search of environment-friendly laws and regulations. The laws and regulations were structured using metadata from users, business stage, topic and department. These were obtained through semantic analysis on environment-friendly laws and regulations, and then an intelligent retrieval approach was utilized. To verify the retrieval plan, a test case was conducted, and improvement in retrieval accuracy against the conventional system was confirmed. It appears that the proposed plan will improve productivity in the construction industry by improving accuracy in retrieving environment-friendly laws and regulations.

Retrieval of an Intravascular Catheter Tip Fracture in a Dog

  • An intravenous foreign body was retrieved from a 10-year-old Maltese. A 24 gauze of fracture intravenous (IV) catheter moved into the circulation to a Maltese (3.4 kg) dog through the upper cephalic vein. Radiography was performed to observe the fracture's moving path, followed by fluid therapy. It was found in the upper cephalic vein, moved about 10 cm up to dorsal and near the proximal humerus. Retrieval surgery was performed successfully without complications. The catheter fracture retrieval sometimes remains a challenge because of unknown complications in veterinary medicine. This case report describes that a fracture IV catheter moved to the systemic vein was removed successfully by a surgery.

공간 데이터베이스의 효율적인 검색을 위한 X-트리와 kd-트리의 병합 알고리즘 (An Integration Algorithm of X-tree and kd-tree for Efficient Retrieval of Spatial Database)

  • 공간적인 자료구조를 기반으로 하는 공간 데이터베이스에서는 일차원 색인구조와는 달리 공간객체들의 다차원적인 특성에 부합되는 새로운 색인구조가 요구되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 요구사항을 충족시키기 위하여 기존 다차원 색인구조들의 특징 분석을 통하여 공간 데이터베이스의 효율적인 검색을 위한 새로운 색인구조를 제안하였다. 기존 X-트리에서 슈퍼노드의 순차적인 검색방법의 개선과 방대한 슈퍼노드가 생성되는 경우에도 검색시간의 단축이 가능하도록 하기 위하여, 포인트 색인구조를 갖는 kd-트리를 X-트리에 병합시킨 색인구조를 제안하였다. 제안된 색인구조를 실제로 구현하여 실험 데이터의 차원과 분포에 따라 검색시간을 분석하였다.

Pruning and Matching Scheme for Rotation Invariant Leaf Image Retrieval

  • For efficient content-based image retrieval, diverse visual features such as color, texture, and shape have been widely used. In the case of leaf images, further improvement can be achieved based on the following observations. Most plants have unique shape of leaves that consist of one or more blades. Hence, blade-based matching can be more efficient than whole shape-based matching since the number and shape of blades are very effective to filtering out dissimilar leaves. Guaranteeing rotational invariance is critical for matching accuracy. In this paper, we propose a new shape representation, indexing and matching scheme for leaf image retrieval. For leaf shape representation, we generated a distance curve that is a sequence of distances between the leaf’s center and all the contour points. For matching, we developed a blade-based matching algorithm called rotation invariant - partial dynamic time warping (RI-PDTW). To speed up the matching, we suggest two additional techniques: i) priority queue-based pruning of unnecessary blade sequences for rotational invariance, and ii) lower bound-based pruning of unnecessary partial dynamic time warping (PDTW) calculations. We implemented a prototype system on the GEMINI framework [1][2]. Using experimental results, we showed that our scheme achieves excellent performance compared to competitive schemes.

불리언 질의 재구성에서 의사결정나무의 학습 성능 감도 분석 (Sensitivity Analysis of Decision Tree's Learning Effectiveness in Boolean Query Reformulation)

  • One of the difficulties in using the current Boolean-based information retrieval systems is that it is hard for a user, especially a novice, to formulate an effective Boolean query. One solution to this problem is to let the system formulate a query for a user from his relevance feedback documents in this research, an intelligent query reformulation mechanism based on ID3 is proposed and the sensitivity of its retrieval effectiveness, i.e., recall, precision, and E-measure, to various input settings is analyzed. The parameters in the input settings is the number of relevant documents. Experiments conducted on the test set of Medlars revealed that the effectiveness of the proposed system is in fact sensitive to the number of the initial relevant documents. The case with two or more initial relevant documents outperformed the case with one initial relevant document with statistical significances. It is our conclusion that formulation of an effective query in the proposed system requires at least two relevant documents in its initial input set.

  • Use cases are commonly used to represent customer requirements during systems development. In a large software development environment, finding relevant use cases from a library of past or related projects is a complex, error-prone and expensive task. This study proposes an ontological methodology to support use case retrieval in an interactive manner. The architecture of a prototype system that implements this methodology is presented. To evaluate whether the proposed approach can provide satisfactory results to users, this study develops a research model and hypotheses based on interaction theory. These hypotheses are empirically tested using a laboratory experiment which controls information filtering and perceived interaction. Our study suggests that a system which interacts with a user intelligently reduces cognitive load and increases self-efficacy and satisfaction.
