김치에 관한 원주지역 주부들의 식생활 실태조사 (A Survey on the Dietary Life toy Kimchi of Housewives in Wonju Area)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the dietary life about Kimchi of the housewives. Self-administrated questionnaires were completed by 322 housewives in Wonju area. The results were as follows: In the point of housewives' domestic duties, over 50% of housewives took care of their domestic duties alone, and the rate who learned how to manage domestic duties from their mothers before marriage decreased as the age got younger. 77.6% of housewives responded that both man and woman could manage a dietary life at home in the future, and the rate of such response was higher as their educational careers were higher and they were younger. In the point of housewives' basic situation about Kimchi, the rate of housewives who knew how to prepare kimchi was high as they were older, and the holding rate of a refrigerator for Kimchi was high as much as 72.4%. In the point of preparation for Kimchi, the rate who made Kimchi by themselves was high, but the rate of preparing Kimchi by their parents for them was higher in the twenties. Frequency of making Kimchi, an amount or a kind of Kimchi were notably different according to housewives' age, a type of their family, the number of their family, and their having a job or not. Housewives' opinion of a market kimchi was that it was expensive, and not sanitary, and rate of purchasing Kimchi was also low. In the point of the prepartion method of Kimchi for the winter, the rate who gained Kimchi from their parents was higher as they lived in an apartment, and had a nuclear family, and had the lesser family members. In an amount of Kimchi prepared for the winter, 11∼22 heads were 23.9% and 21∼30 heads were 21.9%. In the point of the method preparing Kimchi in the future, 53.8% of housewives responded that they would make by themselves, and 28.0% answered they would prepare or purchase. 77.4% of housewives answered that they would teach how to make Kimchi to their children. In conclusion, in housewives of Wonju area, wanted to make Kimchi by themselves and wanted their children to learn how to make Kimchi.

500병상 이상 의료기관에서의 전문지원인력 운영실태 (The Current Status of Professional Medical Support Staffs in Medical Institutions with over 500 Beds)

  • Purpose: This study was to investigate the nationwide operational status of the professional medical support staffs (PMSS) who practice the expanded roles in the hospital setting. Methods: The data were obtained through survey from 36 hospitals with over 500 beds from 25th May to 12th July 2016. Data from 1,666 PMSS were analyzed. Results: Since the job titles varied, we classified them into 5 groups according to their roles; advanced practice nurse, clinical nurse expert, PA (physician assistant), coordinator, and others. There were differences in the operation status of PMSSs depending on the region, nurse staffing grade and number of hospital beds. Qualification criteria varied from hospital to hospital, and almost half of the hospitals didn't have any qualification standards for them. There were differences in age, educational level, clinical careers, rewards, and job satisfaction in 5 groups. Especially PA group had low salary, poorer working conditions, more difficulties in performing their work, and lower job satisfaction than other groups. Most PMSS (99.5%) were using a delegated prescription authority, however only 68.3% had job description and 19.9% had documented delegated role. Conclusion: Adequate training curriculum, documented delegated roles, and the protocols for legal protection and efficient medical services are needed.

이공계 대학 학부생을 위한 MTP(Muti-grade Tutoring Project) e포트폴리오 평가 모형 개발 (A development of MTP e-portfolio evaluation model for the college students of science and engineering school)

  • MTP(Muti-grade Tutoring Project)는 공학계열 학생들이 완성도 높은 프로젝트 수행에 필요한 팀워크와 전공기술을 함양하기 위하여 개발된 이공계 교과과목 개발 모델이다. 학습자는 3년간 1,2,3학년으로 구성된 1년 단위 다학년 팀프로젝트에서 튜터와 튜티의 역할을 수행한다. 이러한 과정을 통하여 자신의 비젼을 스스로 설정하고, 선후배간의 커뮤니케이션 채널을 활성화함으로써 인적 네트워크를 형성하여 졸업 후 취업에 지원을 받을 수 있으며 현장에 적응도를 높일 수 있고, 졸업학년도에는 보다 완성도 높은 졸업 프로젝트를 수행할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 MTP 교과목을 통하여 경험하는 학습 성장과정을 스스로 관리 개발할 수 있는 MTP e포트폴리오 평가 모형을 제시하였다. 특히 참여자, 학습상의 변화, 과정의 3 차원으로 기술한 평가절차 모형구조는 다학년 학생이 수행하는 프로젝트에 협동교수가 보조하는 과정에서 수업이 역동적이고 활성화 되어질 수 있는 도구로써 활용될 것이다.

L2 학습과 의사소통 능력 향상을 위한 대안적 접근으로서의 구두 발표 (Oral Presentations as an Alternative Approach to Enhance L2 Learning and Communication Skills)

  • 본 연구는 대학생들의 인식을 통해 의사소통 능력과 향후 진로의 관점에서 L2 구두 발표가 갖는 효과에 대해 살펴보고자 했다. 질적 연구 방식을 활용한 연구로 초급반과 중급반에서 L2 구두 발표 수업을 수강한 13명의 대학생이 심층적이고 반 구조화된 면접에 참여했다. 학생들의 다양한 의견으로 도출된 결과에 따르면, 구두 발표가 크게 세 가지면에서 긍정적인 효과를 갖는 것으로 나타났다. L2 구두 발표는 말하기, 쓰기, 읽기, 쓰기의 네 가지 언어 영역을 향상시키고, 발표에 대한 자신감을 고취시키며, 향후 취업에도 경쟁력을 불어 넣어 주는 것으로 인식되었다. L2 학습자들에게는 어려운 과제이지만, 구두 발표는 학교 수업과 직업 수행의 환경에서 요구되는 효과적인 의사소통능력을 배양하는 데 필수적인 요소로 평가되었다.

환경산업 분야 직업실태 조사 연구 (A Study on the Status of the Occupations in the Environmental Industry)

  • This thesis examined and analyzed the occupational status of the promising occupations in the environmental industry. A study on the status of the occupations in the environmental industry is very necessary for planning policies and improving occupations in the environmental industry. Studies and discussions regarding the status of the occupations in the environmental industry, however, were extremely insufficient. A survey of the employees in the environmental industry was conducted in order to certainly comprehend the status of the occupations, educational and training programs, and occupational changes and to utilize the result of the survey as foundational data necessary for occupational studies in the environmental industry. The subject of the survey was limited to the employees who had work for one or more years in twenty promising occupations in the environmental industry. The content of the survey was occupational performance competencies, occupational careers, the degree of occupational satisfaction, vocational education and training, working conditions, occupational changes, and the security of the human resources. Dissimilarities as well as similarities among twenty promising occupations were discovered according to the analysis result of the occupations in the environmental industry. A major discovery was that there are lots of difficulties in securing environment-related human resources. Primary reasons for the difficulties were inconsistent working conditions and the shortage of the qualified human resources. To solve the difficulties in securing the human resources, the curriculum of the educational and the training institutes should be innovated and the human resources from the institutes could be applied to the workplace directly after the graduation.

대학졸업자의 전공계열별 직업노동시장 성과: 이공계 위기의 노동시장 원인론을 중심으로 (Occupational Labor Market Activities by College Majors: On the Crisis of Science and Engineering Majors)

  • 본 연구는 이공계 전공자들의 노동시장 성과, 특히 사회적 위신이 타 전공자들에 비해 낮다는 논의에 대한 경험적 검증이다. 대학졸업자의 전공계열에 따라 고용 확률, 고위직, '좋은 직업' 획득 확률에 차이가 있는지를 2000년 인구주택총조사의 2% 표본을 이용하여 분석하였다. 표본 선택편향을 수정한 2단계 프로빗 모형 분석 결과, 이학계와 공학계열 전공자가 인문사회계열 전공자에 비해 고용, 고위직, '좋은 직업' 획득 확률이 유의하게 낮다는 증거는 발견되지 않았다. 하지만 공학계 전공자의 경우 노동생애 초기에는 인문사회계 전공자에 비해 유의하게 높은 '좋은 직업' 획득 확률을 가지지만 연령 증가와 더불어 이러한 이점이 빠르게 사라져 40대 이후로는 인문사회계보다 '좋은 직업' 획득 확률이 낮다. 이는 공학계에서는 현장 경험에 의한 인적 자본의 축적률이 낮고, 대학에서 습득한 기술이 급격히 노화되기 때문일 가능성을 시사한다.

과학 영재 학생들의 공학에 대한 이미지와 인식 분석 (An Analysis on Scientifically Gifted Students' Image and Perception of The Engineering)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 과학 영재 학생들이 갖고 있는 공학에 대한 이미지와 인식을 분석하는 것이다. 이를 위해 A과학고등학교 1, 2학년 학생 182명의 과학 영재 학생들을 대상으로 공학과 과학에 대한 이미지를 비교분석하고, 공학 및 공학분야에 대한 인식과 공학교육에 대한 요구를 분석하였으며, 공학에 대한 태도를 분석하였다. 결과, 대부분의 영역과 문항에서 과학 영재 학생들은 공학에 대해 보통 이상 정도의 인식을 가지고 있었으나, 높지는 않았다. 특히, 과학 영재 학생들은 과학 기술 분야에 대한 흥미와 지식을 갖고 있는 학생들로 진로 및 직업에서도 대부분이 과학 기술 분야를 선택하게 되는 것에 비해 공학에 대한 학생들의 이해와 인식이 많이 부족하였다. 공학에 대한 체험과 교육 기회의 제한으로 인해 공학에 대한 지식이 부족하여 다양한 부정적인 이미지 및 인식과 오개념을 갖고 있었다. 또한, 학생들의 성별, 학년별, 장래희망 직업군별 집단에 따라 공학에 대한 인식의 차이도 함께 있었다. 공학의 중요성에 비해 과학 영재 학생들은 공학에 대한 인식, 이미지, 태도 등이 매우 부족한 것으로 조사되었다.

Difficulties Faced by Working Mothers and Potential Solutions to these Problems: A Survey of Nursing Personnel in a Korean Teaching Hospital

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify difficulties that working mothers face and solutions to the identified problems. Methods: The study design was a cross-sectional, descriptive survey. A survey with 8 items rated on a 5-point scale (1~5) and 5 open-ended questions was administered to 48 married nurses and nurse aides working in 5 nursing units of a teaching hospital in South Korea in April 2013. Results: The score of satisfaction with childrearing patterns (mean=$3.31{\pm}0.79$) was higher than that of satisfaction with spousal support (mean=$3.08{\pm}0.85$). The score of working mother's turnover intention (mean=$2.40{\pm}1.03$) was lowest among the 8 items, but partners did not want their wives to quit work (mean=$3.60{\pm}1.22$). Satisfaction with company employment benefits for childrearing (mean=$2.90{\pm}0.72$) had the lowest score among the 4 satisfaction types analyzed. The turnover intention and satisfactions with childrearing (r=-.51, p<.001), spousal support (r=-.43, p=.002), supervisor's support (r=-.36, p=.013), and company benefits (r=-.37, p=.009) showed significant negative correlations. Conclusion: According to these results, familial support for childrearing is highly correlated with employed mothers' turnover intention. So improvement of familial support for childrearing will reduce married nurses' turnover intention. In addition, well-organized nursery facilities are recommended for enabling working mothers to continue their careers. Furthermore, more family-friendly welfare policies such as a flextime systems or compulsory paternity leave should be reinforced in the workplace.

Lessons Learned from a Comparative Analysis of Surgical Outcomes of and Learning Curves for Laparoscopy-Assisted Distal Gastrectomy

  • Purpose: Before expanding our indications for laparoscopic gastrectomy to advanced gastric cancer and adopting reduced port laparoscopic gastrectomy, we analyzed and audited the outcomes of laparoscopy-assisted distal gastrectomy (LADG) for adenocarcinoma; this was done during the adoptive period at our institution through the comparative analysis of short-term surgical outcomes and learning curves (LCs) of two surgeons with different careers. Materials and Methods: A detailed comparative analysis of the LCs and surgical outcomes was done for the respective first 95 and 111 LADGs performed by two surgeons between July, 2006 and June, 2011. The LCs were fitted by using the non-linear ordinary least squares estimation method. Results: The postoperative morbidity and mortality rates were 14.6% and 0.0%, respectively, and there was no significant difference in the morbidity rates (12.6% vs. 16.2%, P=0.467). More than 25 lymph nodes were retrieved by each surgeon during LADG procedures. The LCs of both surgeons were distinct. In this study, a stable plateau of the LC was not achieved by both surgeons even after performing 90 LADGs. Conclusions: Regardless of the experience with gastrectomy or laparoscopic surgery for other organs, or the age of surgeon, the outcome was quite acceptable; the learning process differ according to the surgeon's experience and individual characteristics.

단체급식소 영양사의 종합적품질경영(TQM) 수행과 직무만족도에 관한 연구 (TQM Performance and Job Satisfaction of Dietitians in Institutional Foodservices)

  • This study was designed to investigate the correlation between perceived TQM performance and job satisfaction of dietitians. The objective of the study is to help the management of foodservice by providing a direction which will elevate perceived TQM performance of dietitians and presenting plans which will ensure effective foodservice management. The survey sample was dietitians (n = 308) who were charged with foodservice management. The questionnaires requested information about demographics self-perception of TQM importance and performance levels, and Job satisfaction. According to the TQM importance and performance analysis, the level of performance was typically high in TQM items recognized as important by dietitians and low in areas where the recognized level of importance was low. Analysis was conducted on the job satisfaction according to demographic characteristics. The level of satisfaction in terms of salary and promotion increased relatively for those working in the industries and those who were older, married, and full-time employees with longer careers. The lesser the number of working hours, the higher their satisfaction levels were. Canonical correlation analysis between TQM performance and job satisfaction indicated higher canonical correlation (canonical correlations coefficient: 0.59). In conclusion, TQM performance-job satisfaction showed higher canonical correlation. When information exchange via network is made possible and more external customer recognition is gained, it increases the level of job satisfaction. The above results suggest that further research on the scope of TQM performance is thoroughly needed and continual training is necessary for foodservice managers.
