영·미·일 대학 갭이어 사례 및 시사점 분석 (The Analysis of Gap Year Cases of England, America, and Japan and their Implications)

  • 본 연구는 대학에 입학하기 전, 또는 대학생활 동안 일정 시간 동안 진로에 대해 탐색할 수 있는 주요국(영국, 미국, 일본) 대학의 갭이어(Gap Year) 운영 사례를 분석하여 우리나라 대학의 도입 가능성을 위한 시사점을 도출하는데 목적이 있다. 갭이어는 고등학교를 마치고 대학에 입학하기 전, 정규교육과정에서 잠시 벗어나 자기이해 등의 경험을 위해 다양한 진로 및 봉사활동을 하는 것을 의미한다. 갭이어 운영 사례는 미국 대학의 4개교, 영국 대학의 2개교, 일본 대학의 1개교를 분석한 결과, 갭이어를 제도, 재정적으로 지원하는 학교로 구분할 수 있으며, 그 대상으로 입학허가자, 재학생, 졸업예정자로 구분할 수 있다. 영국, 미국, 일본 대학의 갭이어 사례분석 결과와 그 시사점을 토대로 국내 대학의 도입 가능성 차원에서 제언을 하면 다음과 같다. 먼저, 대학 내외 관련 제도 정비 및 재정적 지원이 필요하다. 그리고 갭이어 운영 정착을 위한 진로교육시스템을 제안하는 바, 대학생들에게 제공하는 진로탐색, 진로결정, 진로계획 수립, 진로 준비 등의 체계적인 단계가 구축되어야 할 것이다.

Effects of Work Value on the Life Satisfaction of Culinary Arts Majors

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the work value factors regarded as important by the culinary-related graduates in their 20s, and also to analyze the effects of work value factors on the life satisfaction. To achieve this purpose, this study analyzed the data of 155 graduates from departments including 'culinary arts', 'foodservice', and 'confectionery' among the college graduates in their 20s who participated in GOMS 2018. The results of analysis are as follows. First, the new generation majors in culinary arts showed the high importance of their aptitude and interest, employment stability, earned income. Second, in relation to the major field, the male graduates majored in culinary arts more highly perceived the importance than the female graduates majored in culinary arts. On the other hand, regarding the social reputation of job and work duty, the female graduates majored in culinary arts more highly perceived the importance than the male graduates majored in culinary arts. Third, the developmental value factor of work value had positive effects on the life satisfaction. Thus, the career-related staffs or professors of college should provide the career guidance by considering gender when the majors in culinary arts transit to the labor market after graduation.

아버지와 어머니의 헬리콥터 부모역할이 고등학생의 진로준비 행동에 미치는 영향: 학업성패귀인과 진로결정자기효능감의 순차적 매개효과 (The Effect of Paternal and Maternal Helicopter Parenting on the Career Preparation Behavior of High-School Students: Sequential Mediation Effects of Academic Achievement Attribution and Career Decision-Making Self-Efficacy)

  • This study examined the sequential mediation effects of academic achievement attribution and career decision-making self-efficacy on the effect of paternal and maternal helicopter parenting on high-school students' career preparation behavior. A total of 285 (119 male and 166 female) Korean high-school students in the second grade participated in the study. Research variables were measured using the Career Preparation Behavior Scale (Kim, 1997), Helicopter Parenting Scale (LeMoyne & Buchanan, 2011), Attribution Questionnaire (Weiner, 1979), and Career Decision-Making Self-Efficacy Scale-Short Form (Betz et al., 1996). To examine the sequential mediating effect, data analysis was performed using SPSS 29.0 and PROCESS MACRO (v4.2) Model 6. The results revealed no correlations between helicopter parenting and academic failure attribution. However, higher paternal and maternal helicopter parenting were found to indirectly reduce high-school students' career preparation behavior through lower internal academic success attribution (effort and ability) and higher external academic success attribution (task difficulty and luck), which reduced career decision-making self-efficacy. These findings can be employed to develop more effective intervention programs comprising career guidance for adolescents, which emphasizes the negative effect of helicopter parenting. This study expands the research field, as previous findings on helicopter parenting mostly focus on college students.

대학생의 진로정체감이 진로자기조절, 전공만족도에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Dysfunctional attitude of College Students on Job-Seeking Anxiety)

  • 우리나라 교육은 대학졸업이 필수적인 것으로 생각하며, 이러한 사회현상으로 진로선택이 매우 중요한 과제이나 청소년이나 청년들은 자신의 진로를 스스로 결정하거나 책임지기에는 매우 부족한 부분이 많다. 그로인해 타인의 영향을 받게 되므로, 대학생들의 진로정체감이 진로자기조절과 전공만족도에 어떤 영향을 미치는지에 대해 알아보았다. 본 연구 대상자는 M전문대 1-3학년 대학생 300명으로 하였다. 조사기간은 2015 .9 .30~10. 7까지 이루어졌다. 연구 결과 첫째, 진로정체감이 진로자기조절에 미치는 영향의 결과는 진로환경조성 18%, 진로몰입의지 27%, 계획 및 점검 18%, 진로피드백 12%, 긍정적사고 22%로 나타났으며 진로몰입의지가 진로정체감에 많은 영향을 미치는 것으로 분석되었다. 둘째, 진로정체감은 전공만족도에 어떤 영향이 있는지에 대한 결과는 인식만족, 관계만족, 일반만족이 진로결정에 많은 영향을 미치는 것으로 분석되었다. 이러한 분석결과 대학생의 진로정체감이 전공이나 직업선택에 갈등을 낮추고, 그들이 전공에 대한 만족감이 높아지면 취업준비나 직업선택에 자신감과 인생목표를 세울 수 있다는 결과가 도출되었다. 그러므로 대학에서는 진로정체감을 높이기 위한 방법으로 직업지도프로그램과 진로상담 등에 대한 개발과 연구가 필요하다.

사범대학 화학교육과 학생들의 로드맵을 통한 진로 목표와 대학 생활 계획 분석 (Analyzing Career Paths and College Life Plans of Department of Chemistry Education Students in Teacher's College Examined by Their Roadmaps)

  • 교사양성대학으로서 사범대학 화학교육과에 대한 학생들의 정체성을 알아보고자 대구시에 소재한 K대학교 사범대학 화학교육과 학생들을 대상으로 성별, 학년에 따른 진로목표와 대학 생활 계획의 차이를 분석하였다. 학생들에게 대학 생활 계획(로드맵)을 작성하게 하고, 이것을 분석하여 15개의 항목을 도출한 뒤, PASW18 프로그램을 사용하여 자료를 처리하였다. 연구결과 학생들의 성별에 따라 진로목표와 영어공부, 여행, 봉사활동 계획에서 유의한 차이가 있었는데, 여학생들이 남학생들에 비해 의학계 진로와 영어공부, 여행에 대한 관심이 더 높았다. 봉사활동에 대한 관심 또한 여학생들이 더 높았으나 전반적으로 남녀 모두 부족하였다. 학년에 따른 차이는 학년이 낮을수록 의학계진로에 대한 관심과 영어공부, 여행, 학점관리, 교환학생, 장학금에 대한 관심이 높았고, 학년이 높을수록 봉사활동과 스터디, 인터넷 강의에 대한 관심이 높았다. 진로목표에 따른 차이는 영어공부, 여행, 학점관리계획에서 유의한 차이가 있었는데, 의학계열 진학의 필수요소인 영어공부와 학점관리에 대한 관심이 사범계열 진학 학생들 보다 월등히 높았으며, 진로를 정하지 못한 학생들의 여행계획이 진로의 방향을 정한 학생들보다 많았다. 이러한 결과는 학년이 낮을수록, 남학생보다 여학생이 사범대학이 교원양성이라는 목적대학의 정체성을 크게 인식하지 않는다고 판단되며, 그에 따라 대학 생활 계획도 달라짐을 보여준다. 따라서 사범대학의 본래의 특성보다는 현실적인 진로 선택과 생활 계획을 우선시 하는 학생들에 대한 진로 상담 및 지도가 요구되며, 이러한 현실을 고려하여 교사양성대학으로서의 정체성을 갖출 수 있는 화학교육의 방향성을 재고할 필요가 있다.

보건계열대학생의 학업성취도, 전공선택동기, 직업가치관 및 대학생활적응과의 관계 (The relation on academic achievement, major selection motivation, Work values, and Campus life adjustment of health college students)

  • 이 연구는 보건계열 대학생의 학업성취도, 전공선택동기, 직업가치관 및 대학생확적응과의 관계를 확인하고자 하였다. G도시에 소재한 일개 4년제 대학 보건계열 대학생 495명을 대상으로 구조화된 설문지를 이용하여 자료를 수집하였다. 연구결과 학업성취도는 전공선택동기(r=.446, p<.001)와 직업가치관(r=.255, p<.001), 대학생활적응(r=.391, p<.001)과 정적상관관계를 나타내었다. 전공선택동기는 직업가치관(r=.354, p<.001) 및 대학생활적응(r=.220, p<.001)과 정적상관관계를 나타내었다. 직업가치관은 대학생활적응(r=.193, p<.001)과 정적상관관계를 나타내었다. 자신의 적성에 맞는 진로선택을 위해 전공선택동기와 직업가치관을 강화하는 진로교육프로그램과 대학생활적응을 향상시키는 학생지도프로그램의 개발이 필요하다.

의과대학생이 생각하는 좋은 일자리 유형에 관한 Q방법론 연구 (Q-Methodology Study on Medical Students' Perceptions of Good Jobs)

  • This study investigated medical students' perceptions of good jobs. We classified medical students' perceptions of good jobs and analyzed the characteristics of each type. The Q methodology was used to extract medical students' subjective thoughts. After extracting statements based on previous studies, 46 Q samples were selected. The P sample consisted of 40 medical students divided evenly by gender and grade. They performed a Q sort of the 46 Q sample questionnaire and the results were analyzed using the QUANL ver. 1.2 program. Very few consensus statements were found in the replies. We divided answers into four types, each of which was clearly distinguished: (1) quality of life-oriented jobs, (2) reward-oriented jobs, (3) service-oriented jobs, and (4) self-realization-oriented jobs. Medical students in type 1 prioritized quality of life equally at work and at home. Medical students in type 2 preferred high-paying jobs. Medical students in type 3 placed importance on serving others. Finally, medical students in type 4 viewed good jobs as involving learning and development. The types of jobs sought were classified according to individual students' values and subjectivity. Medical schools may use the results of this study as a basis for career guidance.

간호학생의 진로 및 취업의사결정 과정에 관한 연구 (Process of the Nursing Students Decision-making for Their Course and Job)

  • This study examines attitudes among nursing student, attitudes that give direction in life and effect the decision-making process when seeking employment. The exigency of which derives from the need to design a proper guidance program to assist students in their search for employment. Data was collected from a survey conducted between November 20 and November 25, 1995, the respondants of which were 120 nursing students without jobs. The data was analyzed by examining frequency, percentage, average, Chi-square, one-way ANOVA and t-test through an SPSS $PC^+$ program. The results of the study can be summarized as follows : 1) There are positive relationship between a student's academic major and employment(So responded 84.3% of the subjects with only 2.5% claiming that his major didn't matter). 2) Students believe that 'good jobs' are secured through aptitude. 'Good jobs' are seen as ones which develop an individuals abilities and which offer the opportunity for advancement. However they do not believe that 'good Jobs' contribute to society 3) Students have not been supplied the proper guidance and information necessary for finding employment. The student's life research institude, professor and assistants provide Insufficient information and counseling. Personal goals are decisive factors in determining what direction a student may take as well as the kind of employment he will seek. However, advice from parents, siblings, friends, alumni, professors, assistants and counselors is also considered. 4) Students do not think it reasonable to base their career decisions on one factor only(33.9% responded that aptitude and personal interests were the most important factor, and 14.9% that income was the key determinant). 5) Location and size of the hospital are important considerations when choosing a job. There is a preference for larger hospitals. 6) A lack of stability and few opportunities for advancement are perceived as the primary reasons for the possibility of leaving one's job.

교양필수 교과목에 대한 만족도 분석: J대학 사례를 중심으로 (An Analysis of Satisfaction on the Essential Curriculum: Focusing on J University Case)

  • 이 연구에서는 J대학의 교양필수 교과목에 대한 만족도를 알아보았다. 이를 위해 J대학 2~4학년 502명의 설문조사 결과를 기초로 성·학년·계열·캠퍼스에 따른 만족도 차이를 알아보았다. 첫째, 남학생은 여학생에 비해 창의적 사고, 대학생활지도 및 취창업진로, 대학생활지도 및 진로설계 교과목에 대한 만족도가 더 높은 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 교양필수 교과목에 대한 학년별 만족도는 차이가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 계열별 만족도는 자연공학, 보건복지, 예체능, 인문사회의 순으로 나타났다. 넷째, 캠퍼스별 만족도는 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이 연구의 결과는 대학 교양교육과정, 특히 교양필수 교육과정을 개선하는 데 기초자료로 활용할 수 있을 것이다.

가정학 전공자의 취업과 전망 (A Study of Current Employment and Future Trends for Young Home Economists)

  • The current employment status among young home economists and perspectives in occupations for prospective Home Economics graduates were explored in this study which utilized information from 17 to 21 colleges in Korea and colleges in the United States during the five years of 1977∼1981. The Home Economics content areas covered in this study were Clothing and Textiles, Foods and Nutrition, Housing and Interior Design, and Child Development and Family Life. The highest percentage of Korean graduates in Clothing and Textiles was employed either as teachers at the junior high school level or as designers in the clothing and textile industries. Quite a number of the graduates were engaged in further studies at the graduate level. Korean graduates with a master's degree were teaching at the college level and some had furthered their studies at the doctorate level either here or abroad. Koreans with a bachelor's degree in Foods and Nutrition held jobs as teachers in junior high school, dieticians at mass feeding institutions and hospitals, food scientists in food industries, and researchers in institutions. Those with a master's degree were teaching at the college level. Americans with a bachelor's degree worked as dieticians, supervisors in restaurants and institutions, extension workers, researchers at various facilities, teachers and clerks. Americans with a master's or doctorate degree were engaged in teaching at colleges or supervising at research or working as extension specialists. In general, Korean graduates were found to hold positions in less varied areas than their American counter-parts. Among forty-nine graduates those working in their professional field reported less sex discrimination that those working in other fields. The major area of employment in Housing and Interior Design or Home Management graduates in Korea was teaching while in the United States it was extension work, business, governmental work and teaching. It was suggested that in the future, career development in Korea be further explored to include extension service, research, social welfare, financial planning, business, free-lancing, funeral home, home-call, and correctional education. Interviews with executives from 6 business enterprises indicated that most of them were aware of the potential contribution home economists could make for their companies but they expressed a negative attitude towards women in general due to their short stay on the job. Jobs held by Child Development and Family Life majors with a bachelor's degree in Korea were mostly teaching positions in public, junior and senior high school. However, jobs such as nursery school teaching, working in clinical setting, business, and teaching at public, junior and senior high school predominated in the United states. Most Korean graduates with a master's degree were teaching in professional colleges while in the United Stated the job variation among the graduates was rather evenly distributed among teaching at college level, public and high school, nursery school and administration areas. Reports from 7 child development majors on the job indicated that they were paid less that secretarial workers. Only half of them were working in their major area and these expressed satisfaction with their work. Two thirds of the respondents indicated no sex discrimination. It was suggested that in the future Child Development and Family Life majors pursue employment in counseling, guidance, recreation, mass media, administration and outreach work as well as education, research and parent education in services for children, teen-agers, adults and families.
