  • Carbon solubility on the paste deposition methods in the carbon-doped TiZrN coating was investigated in terms of lattice distortion and atomic concentration. After depositing the carbon paste by the dip coating, spin coating and screen printing, the laser was ablated to form the carbon gradient layer. Thickness and the concentration of doped carbon depended on the paste deposition method. Crystal structure analysis indicated that more lattice distortion occurred when coating layers were doped with spin coating and screen printing than when coating layers were doped with dip coating. The XPS depth profile showed that the thickness of carbon gradient layer by dip coating was about 30 nm, spin coating and screen printing are approximately 100 nm, formed more gradient layer. The hardness before laser carburization was about 30 GPa, and the hardness of 31 GPa with dip coating and 37 GPa with spin coating and screen printing. It was indicated that paste deposition methods for laser carburization contributed to lattice distortion and gradient layer.

  • Fabrication of photosensitive carbon nanotubes paste and its post-treatment has been developed for high resolution with good electron emission uniformity. We report novel post-treatment techniques including rubber-rolling and multiple field emission cycling from which we could improve the field emission properties of printed carbon nanotubes. These techniques would be easily applicable to large area field emission display using paste of carbon nanotubes

  • Carbon nanotubes has a positive effect on the mechanical properties, functionality, and durability of cement-based materials. In this study, carbon nanotube solutions mixed with two different types of superplasticizers were dispersed by high-pressure homogenizer, and used for preparation of cement paste. The 7and 28day compressive strength were evaluated.

  • Dot-patterned carbon nanotube (CNT) emitters with excellent field emission properties were fabricated using photosensitive CNT paste. We carried out a parametric study on the compositions and the fabrication processes of the paste, in particular, by ball milling CNTs, which were optimized in terms of dot shapes and their field emission characteristics. The ball milling process improved the field emission current of the dot-patterned CNT emitters several times higher than that of the non-milled paste.

  • Ionic liquid-functionalized ordered mesoporous silica SBA-15 modified carbon paste electrode (CISPE) was fabricated and its electrochemical performance was investigated by cyclic voltammetry, electrochemical impedance spectra. The electrochemical behavior of $Cd^{2+}$, $Pb^{2+}$, $Cu^{2+}$ and $Hg^{2+}$ at CISPE was studied by differential pulse anodic stripping voltammetry (DPASV). Compared with carbon paste electrode, the stripping peak currents had a significant increase at CISPE. Under the optimized conditions, the detection limits were $8.0{\times}10^{-8}\;M$ ($Cd^{2+}$), $4.0{\times}10^{-8}\;M$ ($Pb^{2+}$), $6.0{\times}10^{-8}\;M$ ($Cu^{2+}$), $1.0{\times}10^{-8}\;M$ ($Hg^{2+}$), respectively. Furthermore, the present method was applied to the determination of $Cd^{2+}$, $Pb^{2+}$, $Cu^{2+}$ and $Hg^{2+}$ in water samples and people hair sample.

  • A gold nanoparticles modified carbon paste electrode (GN-CPE) has been used for the determination of atenolol (ATN) in drug formulations by cyclic voltammetry (CV), differential pulse voltammetry (DPV) and chronocoulometric methods. The results revealed that the modified electrode shows an electrocatalytic activity toward the anodic oxidation of atenolol by a marked enhancement in the current response in buffered solution at pH 10.0. The anodic peak potential shifts by -80.0 mV when compared with the potential using bare carbon paste electrde. A linear analytical curve was observed in the range of $1.96\;{\times}\;10^{-6}$ to $9.09\;{\times}\;10^{-4}\;mol\;L^{-1}$. The detection limit for this method is $7.3\;{\times}\;10^{-8}\;mol\;L^{-1}$. The method was then successfully applied to the determination of atenolol in tablets and human urine. The percent recoveries in urine ranged from 92.0 to 110.0%.
