For the analysis of the relative grouch of six body pans, such as carapace width. abdominal length, abdominal width, cheliped length, second pereiopod length and third pereiopod length, to the carapace length of crayfish (Comboroides similis Koelbel), the equation Y = bXa were applied. The results were as follows: 1. In the relative srourth of each body part to the carapace length, abdominal width and abdomial length in both sexes showed as positive allometrv, the third pereiopod length in both sexes as isometry and the rest shouted as negative. The least coefficient of the relative growth was found in cheliped length in female (0.9300).2. The grolwth gradient of each body part to the carapace length in each sex revealed decreasing pattern in abdominal length and third pereiopod length in both sexes and the abdominal width in male with the growth centers on the initial growth period. and the rest showed increasing pattern with the growth centers on the 6th growvth period except the abdomini,d uridth in female on the 3rd growth period.
The freshwater shrimp, Macrobrachium nipponensis is one of the largest species as well as one of the Important types of food. It can be found widely in rivers and swamps from Che-ju island in the south to Chung-ju in the north. The larval development of these shrimps was studied by Yu (1966) and CHUN and YU (1967), but they didn't provide any other features. Shrimps for the present study were collected from the Ntk-Dong River, near Pusan, once each month from March to December 1963. The following is a summary of the results. 1. The relationship between the carapace length (X) and the body length (Y) is: Y=2.68996X+1.14784 in female. Y=2.73121X+1.10827 in male. 2. The relationship between the carapace length(X)_ and tile basipodite length of the 2nd pereiopode (Y) is: Y=0.16910X-0.06422 in female Y=0.19410X-0.06075 in male. 3. The relationship between the carapace length (X) and the ischiorodite length of the 2nd pereiopode (Y) is: Y= 0.48524X-0.10812 in female. Y= 0.69052X-0.28616 in male. 4. The relationship between the carapace length(X) and the meropodite length of the End pereiopode (Y) is: Y=0.51217X-0.04088 in female. Y= 1.9792X-0.98258 in male. 5. The relationship between the carapace length (X) and the carpopodite length of the 2nd pereiopode (Y) is: Y=0.87701X-0.33919 in female. Y=2.00091X-1.64116 in male. 6. The relationship between the carapace length (X) and the propodite length of the 2nd pereiopode (Y) is: Y= 1.04672 X-0.50727 in female. Y=2.67663X-2.40488 in male. 7. The relationship between the carapace length (X) and the dactylopodite length of the 2nd pereiopode (Y) is: Y=0.26366 X+0.15743 in female. Y=1.04866 X-0.67781 in male.
The analysis of the absolute growth in seven body parts of crayfish (Cumbaroides similis Koelbel), such as carapace length, carapace width, abdominal length, abdominal width, sheliped length, second pereiopod length and third pereiopod length (the grolwth formula, y : a + bt ~ci applied) was performed. The results obtained are as follows: 1. The analyses of changing growth quantity for the seven body parts in both sexes showed concave shaped increase. 2. The largest ratios of the grourth quantity in both sexes were revealed in abdominal width (18.3677 times in male and 18.9253 times in female). 3. The srolwth rates of the seven body parts in both sexes showed a smooth increasing pattern. 4. 각B the sperifn'cgrouch rates revealed a decreasing pattern, moreover steep descendent patterns of it appeared in abdominal length of both sexes and abdominal width in male.
1. On the basis of the samples collected on the eastern coast of Koje-Do from May to September, 1969, studies have been made on the growth and the relationships between the carapace length and the body length, and between the carapace length and the body weight of Penaeus japonicus Bate. 2. The mean carapace length of P. japonicus was 51mm in May, 57mm in June, 47mm in July and 50mm in September respectively. 3. As a result of the present studies two populations of P. japonicus exist in waters around Koje-Do, namely the spring and fall spawning populations. 4. The relationship between the carapace length ($\iota$) and the body length(L) and between the carapace length and the body weight (W) are indicated by the following equations: May $$L=2.6544{\iota}+3.1258$$$$W=1.892{\iota}^{1.9844}$$ June $$L=2.8659{\iota}+2.1796$$$$W=1.082{\iota}^{2.4323}$$ July $$L=2.5840{\iota}+3.3090$$$$W=1.290{\iota}^{2.3094}$$ September $$L=2.4234{\iota}+4.5775$$$$W=1.599{\iota}^{2.1857}$$ 5. With regard to the relationships between the carapace length and the body length and between the carapace length and the body weight there is no significant difference between the populations spawning in June and September. 6. The relationships between the carapace length ($\iota$) and the body length (L) and between the carapace length and the body weight (W) for the samples cultured at three different localities are indicated by the following equations: Koje-do $$L=3.7738{\iota}+0.0805\;(r=0.934)$$$$W=0.4690{\iota}^{3.0713}$$ Oma-do $$L=2.993{\iota}+1.6455\;(r=0.990)$$$$W=0.6328{\iota}^{2.6579}$$ Kumdang-do $$L=3.2749{\iota}+0.9055\;(r=0.983)$$$$W=0.5768{\iota}^{2.8076}$$ 7. During the larval stages the relationship between the body length (L) and the rearing day (D) is indicated by the following equations: Zoeal stages (1-3) L=0.1279D+0.2686 (r=0.979) Mysis (1) - Post larva (6) L=0.1697D+0.5634 (r=0.994) Post-larvs (7) - Post larvs (21) L=0.1344D+1.9501 (r=0.978)
The author succeeded in rearing the young blue crab from the first stage of zoe ato the true crab shape, and during this time he observed their growth and metamorphosis. The relationships between the number of eggs carried by female crabs (E) and the carapace width (C) and body weight (W) are shown as follows: E= 27.9049C-281.8155, E=0.5682 W-116.4606. There are five zoeal stages and a megalopa in the complete larval development of the blue crab. Water temperature in rearing aquaria ranged from 21.4 to $25.2^{\circ}C$. The duration of each zoeal stage was two days on the average. After the fifth moulting, the zoea becomes megalopa and 5 to 6 days later the megalopa moults and develops into the first stage of adult crab shape. The carapace width of megalopa measured about 1.70 mm and the carapace length, from the tip of the rostrum to the posterior dorsal margin of the carapace, was about 2.78 mm on the average. The carapace width and length of the first crab, 18 days after hatching, measured about 4.48 mm and 2.62 mm respectively. After two days, the first crab moulted and grew into the second crab with about 6.47 mm in carapace width and 4.66 mm in carapace length. The larval rearing in the outdoor tank shelved better results than in the indoor aquarium. The highest mortality occurred when the first stage of zoea moulted into the second stage. Percentage of crabs which survived, from the first crab to the ninth crab stages, was about $55\%$. The relationships between rearing days (D) and the carapace width (C), carapace length (L) and body weight (W) of the crab stages during 40 days of rearing are shown as follows. Carapace width, Indoor: C=1.1250D+1.7227 Outdoor C=1.3465D -0.2449 Carapace length, Indoor: L=0.6654D+1.6712 Outdoor: L=0.7893D+0.6919 Body Weight, Outdoor: $$W=1.15e^{0.12423D}$$ Indoor: $$W=6.759\times10^{-2}D^{1.2598}$$ (9-19 day old crabs) Outdoor: $$W=4.136\times10^{-2}D^{1.6024}$$ (21-40 day old crabs) During the crab stage, the following relationships between the number of moulting times and the carapace width (C), carapace length (L) and body weight (W) were found as follows: $$C=5.2e^{0.28119N}$$$$L=3.65e^{0.26372N}$$$$W= 0.14e^{0.7037N}$$ The relationships between the carapace length (L) and the carapace width (C) and body weight (W) of the crab stages are shown as follows: Carapace length, mm Formula 2.62-27.17 L=1.6864C-1.0387 7.47-18.53 $$W=9.367\times10^{-5}C^{3.5567}$$ 22.11-27.17 $$W=3.406\times10^{-5}C{3.8571}$$
Growth and other biological processes in aquatic organisms are particularly dependent on water temperatures. This study examined the effects of water temperature on the growth of Triops longicaudatus. The influence of water temperature fluctuations was that growth rate was increased at higher temperatures. The mean carapace length was 5.7 (${\pm}2.1$) mm in a water temperature of $20^{\circ}C$ and 7.5 (${\pm}0.5$) mm in a water temperature of $28^{\circ}C$ on the 14th day after submergence. It was 6.9 (${\pm}2.8$) mm in a water temperature of $20^{\circ}C$ and 7.8 (${\pm}2.0$) mm in a water temperature of $28^{\circ}C$ on the 21st day after submergence. The mean carapace length grew rapidly within 14 days after submergence, but increase in carapace length beyond this time was slow. The influence of water depth fluctuations was low as the mean carapace length was 9.3 (${\pm}2.1$) mm under a water depth of 80 mm and 9.5 (${\pm}1.3$) mm under a water depth of 190 mm on the 19th day after submergence. Biomass showed that the carapace length of 5, 10, 16 and 20 mm was a dry-weight of 1.1 (${\pm}0.3$), 18.0 (${\pm}3.7$), 26.0 (${\pm}0.0$) and 52.3 (${\pm}4.0$) mg respectively. The number of eggs increased rapidly with increments in carapace length. The mean number of eggs was 20 (${\pm}0.0$) at a carapace length of 7.0 mm, but at a carapace length of 17.0 mm, the mean number of eggs was 560 (${\pm}0.0$). The results suggested that differences in water temperature accounted for the differences in length of the carapace and the number of eggs.
Larvae of Ilyoplax dentimerosa Shen, 1932 were reared in the laboratory at $25^{\circ}C$ and 33.3%o salinity. Four zoeal stages were recognized in the lanral development, and these are described and illustrated. The first soeae of 1. dentimerosa are distinguished from other llyoplax zoeae by having minute spicules on the rostral and dorsal carapace spines, a short dorsal carapace spine about half of the carapace length, a conspicuous antennal exopodite with a subterminal sutta and acute spines on the postero-lateral border of the fourth abdominal somite.
Southern rough shrimp Trachysalambria curvirostris is exploited mainly by small shrimp beam trawl in coastal regions of Korea. To determine the size selectivity of a shrimp beam trawl for this species, a series of comparative fishing experiments was conducted in the sea adjacent to Geoje Island off the southern cost of Korea in June and November, 2010, using codends with four different mesh sizes(14.2, 17.8, 25.5, and 35.3 mm). The extended Share Each Length's Catch Total(SELECT) analysis method, based on a multinomial distribution, was applied to the fishing data to obtain a master selection curve. The model with the estimated split parameters fit the catch data best. The master selection curve was estimated to be: s(R)=exp(15.183R-7.872)/[1+exp(15.183R-7.872)], where the relative carapace length, R, is the ratio of carapace length to mesh size. The relative carapace length for 50% retention was 0.518, and the selection range was 0.145. The results suggest that codends with a larger mesh size allow more small-sized shrimps to escape.

This paper describes reproduction, population structure, growth and size at sexual maturity of a deep-water mud shrimp (Solenocera melantho) in the adjacent waters of Geomun Island, Korea. The shrimp was caught by a beam trawl from November 1998 to December 1999. Spawning period was estimated by gonadosomatic index to be from August to early November with a peak in October to early November. Female shrimps were $12\%$ matured at 16 mm in carapace length, $33\%$ matured at 18 mm and $75\%$ matured at 22 mm. The size at $50\%$ maturity for female was estimated to be 20.65 mm in carapace length. Breeding season was estimated to be from August to early November with a peak in October to early November. The size at $50\%$ inseminated was 19.81 mm CL. The fecundity was 87,500-405,200 and related exponentially to carapace length and total weight. This species survived between 25 and 26 months. The maximum carapace length of females and males were 48 mm and 34 mm respectively. Sex ratio was $51.3\%$, and the females were preponderant. Growth was estimated by modified von Bertalanffy growth function incorporating seasonal variation in growth in both years females (K=1.019/yr and $L_{\infty}$=51.731 mm CL) grew faster, reaching a larger size at a given age than males (K=1.848/yr, and $L_{\infty}$=27.499 mm CL). This is indicated by differences in growth performance indices $(\varphi')$ between females (3.291) and males (3.145).
During a survey for the southern sea of Korea, an iphiculid crab, Pariphiculus coronatus, was newly recorded from Korea. Specimens were obtained at a depth of 109-120 m near Jejudo Island. Pariphiculus coronatus can be distinguished from congeners by the following characters: the carapace length and the carapace width subequal, the surface of carapace covered with round granules, the medial tubercles of the intestinal and cardiac region of the carapace, and the first gonopod curved in the half region and straight in the distal portion. The Korean leucosiods have 16 genera and 20 species so far. Here we provide the diagnosis and illustration of Pariphiculus coronatus.
