  • Entrepreneurship brings countless values to each individual and practical benefits to society and the economy. Recently, the call for a better understanding of entrepreneurship from corporations and governments is regularly voiced the day, both in the academic literature and in public discussions. This study examines factors influencing the startup decision of young people in Vietnam. Primary data was collected from an online survey and then imported into an Excel file before being analyzed by SPSS 22. The total number of relevant observations for the study is 656, using numerous statistical approaches such as EFA and multiple regression analyses. This study contributes to the existing literature and current practice by suggesting six major determinants of startup intention: self-expectation, personal attitudes, self-competency, perceived feasibility, entrepreneurial orientation, and financial wealth. Among these factors, self-competency and entrepreneurial orientation are statistically significant, indicating that the capability of young people is the most important determinant of their startup intention. Additionally, the results indicate that self-expectation, attitude, perceived feasibility, and finance do not impact students' intention to pursue entrepreneurship. We suggest that by enhancing the training quality of universities, young people will be provided with much essential knowledge and technical skills for running a business.

  • Purpose: The current study was done to describe how nurses are portrayed in hospital administration journals as compared with physicians. Methods: A content analysis of the pictures was conducted using the framework of Goffman. The data were collected from all issues of four hospital administration journals published in 2005, 2006, and 2007 (n=465). Results: Overall, the analysis indicates that nurses were portrayed from the perspective of femininity and mothering. In group scenes, nurses were pictured as peripheral, compared with physicians. Sometimes the photos did not focus on nurses at all. Nurses were also placed standing in the periphery not like physicians at the center of the scene. In terms of professional portrayal, the photos in general present positive image of nurses similar to that of physicians. However, the number of photos including nurses was relatively small. Conclusion: The results of this study indicate that nurses appear less frequently in mass media and when they do it is at the periphery of the scene. It is, then, necessary to make greater effort to call upon mass media to cover more nurses showing a positive images of the profession. All stake holders such as individual nurses, hospitals and related associations should make a combined effort toward that end.

  • In this study, We use microstep control to reduce vibration of step motor. Microstep control of step motor is usually thought of as an extension of conventional step motor control technology. The essence of micro stepping is that we divide the full step of a step motor into a number of substep called microstep and cause the stepmotor to move through a substep per input pulse. In ideal case, by controlling the individual phase currents of a two-phase step motor sinusoidally we can get uniform torque and step angle. But due to the nonlinear characteristics of the step motor, we need to compensate current waveform to improve the over-all smoothness of the conventional micro stepping system. We implement digital Pulse Width Modul- ation (PWM) driver to drive step motor and microphone was used for detecting vibration. Driver enables speed change automatically by increasing or decreasing micro stepping ratio which we call Automatic Switching on the Fly. To compensate the torque harmonics, neural network is applied to the system and we found compensated optimal input current waveform. Finally we can get smooth motion of step motor in a wide range of motor speed.

  • Nepal's role in the expansion of Mahayana Buddhism beyond the Himalaya is very significant. Nepal became the center of Mahayana Buddhism after the Muslim invasion of Nalanda Mahavihara in the 1199 A.D., which she maintained almost for 300 years. During this period, Nepal had produced a large number of profound Buddhist scholars. Most of them were the teachers of eminent Tibetan Buddhists. Some of the Nepalese Gurus also has continued lineage in Tibet until now. During that time, every Tibetan had desire to go to Nepal for higher Buddhist learning. As a matter of fact, many Tibetans made arduous journey across the Himalaya to fulfill the dream. Tibetan studied various forms of tantra, precepts, logic, doctrine, Sutra, Sadhana, Doha, Charyagiti, meditation etc. under direct supervision of Nepalese teachers. Great Tibetan scholars such as Marpa, Rwa Lo, Chag Lo, Khon phu ba, Klog Lo, Gos Lo, and others were the product of Nepal's scholarly tradition. They have significant place in the history of Tibet. Nepalese scholars also frequently visited Tibet where they taught Buddhism in various monasteries. They also had major role in propagating tantra in Tibet. Tibetans firmly believe that it is not possible to attain enlightenment without practicing tantra. The contribution of Nepalese scholars was so profound that Tibet produced many eminent scholars who developed scholastic tradition in Tibet. But after 14th century, Nepal's scholarly tradition ceased to continue. Then after, Tibetans started to call them 'the dull'.

  • The role of the library is as a public institution that provides academic information to a variety of people, including students, the general public, and researchers. These days, as the importance of lifelong education is emphasized, libraries are evolving beyond simply storing and lending materials to complex cultural spaces that share knowledge and information through various educational programs and cultural events. One of the problems library user's faces is locating books to borrow. This problem occurs because of errors in the location of borrowed books due to delays in updating library databases related to borrowed books, incorrect labeling, and books temporarily located in different locations. The biggest problem is that it takes a long time for users to search for the books they want to borrow. In this paper, we propose a system that visually displays the location of books in real time using an AI vision sensor and LED. The AI vision sensor-based book location guidance system generates a QR code containing the call number of the borrowed book. When the AI vision sensor recognizes this QR code, the exact location of the book is visually displayed through LED to guide users to find it easily. We believe that the AI vision sensor-based book location guidance system dramatically improves book search and management efficiency, and this technology is expected to have great potential for use not only in libraries and bookstores but also in a variety of other fields.

  • This paper presents a user-friendly authentication system using a flexible USIM. In the proposed method and its system, the flexible USIM utilizes personalized data such as Mobile Directory Number(MDN) and social security number as the key to user authentication. The authentication method proposed in this paper permits limited times of use and/or limited duration of use. A simple simulation model shows that the proposed algorithm works well and shows high compatibility with existing authentication methods. In addition, an alternative or more advanced authentication system can be developed with the proposed flexible USIM card. It is seen that this simple alternative method will eventually be able to make wireless communication networks more easily accessible for subscribers, irrespective of user environments.

  • The social services for the elderly have been expending in order to respond to the rapid speed of aging. However, low utilization, exclusion and duplication have been pointed out as significant problems in service utilization of the elderly. This study tried to find out the utilization patterns of social services for the elderly: what kinds of and how many social services the elderly receive from what kinds of and how many organizations, and factors influencing utilization of the social services. It surveyed the entire population of the public assistance recipient elderlies at Kyonggi province in 1999. The results show that duplication is not so significant problem as the low utilization of social services. However, the fact that more than forty five percent of the elderly receives social services from more than two organizations requires the efforts for service linkage and coordination in social service delivery system. The factors, which have relatively big influence on the number of organizations which the elderly use for each social service, were sex and age among the predisposing factors, "living alone" and place for residency among the enabling factors and the number of illness, Activities of Daily Living, Instrumental Activities of Daily Living and inconvenience of housing among the needs factors. These results call for expansion of social services for the elderly especially in the way of achieving distribution balance between the rural and urban area and activation of case management practice and local association of social service delivery agencies for service linkage and coordination.

  • Consumers earn a number of points for every purchase and then they can exchange a specified number of points for a desired reward in a typical loyalty program. The immediate payoff of their effort given as points is not the real reward they actually care about. It is merely an instrument (or medium) which has no value in itself. In a real world, consumers frequently choose the option with a bigger medium even though the economic value of the option is not changed by the medium. We call it 'medium effect.' In this study we explored if the size of medium affects consumers' preferences. For this we controlled the reward options with three types of medium (small, medium, big) and measured the magnitude of preference difference among the three types of reward options. In addition, we manipulated comparability of reward options with wine and gas discount coupon. We confirmed that choosing one of two wines was easier than that of the two gas coupons. 123 respondents were allocated into three experimental groups. In three experimental grounds, the ratios of the focused reward option's medium to the compared reward option's medium were different. For example, the focused reward option has 10 million points whereas the compared reward option has 10 million points for 1 million won purchase amount in the first group. Then each respondent was asked to choose one of two loyalty programs (focused program vs. compared program) in two different conditions (comparability between reward options. easiness vs. difficulty). To compare the medium effects among the experiment conditions we used chi-squares tests. The empirical results show consumer preference increases and then decreases as reward mile-ages/points given according to purchase amount increase. Additionally, they let us know that comparability of alter natives affects change of consumer preference by reward mileages/points.

  • A previous location area scheme was proposed for cellular network, in which the size of location area of a user is dynamically determined by is current mobility and call arrival rate as the burden of system reaches the minimum. This scheme, however, doesn't consider other individual's movement pattern respectively because of allocating location area with a system's fixed pattern. When mobile subscribers move fast, this scheme allocates especially so large location area to reduce the number of location registration that it makes much paging cost. In this paper, we suggest new dynamic location area management which allocates location area according to each subscriber's mobility regarding its current location as center point. This new scheme allocates fast subscriber larger location area, which resulted in reducing the number of location registration. And small area paging reduces paging cost.
