THE ALTERNATIVE DUNFORD-PETTIS PROPERTY IN SUBSPACES OF OPERATOR IDEALS

  • For several Banach spaces X and Y and operator ideal $\cal{U}$, if $\cal{U}$(X, Y) denotes the component of operator ideal $\cal{U}$; according to Freedman's definitions, it is shown that a necessary and sufficient condition for a closed subspace $\cal{M}$ of $\cal{U}$(X, Y) to have the alternative Dunford-Pettis property is that all evaluation operators $\phi_x\;:\;\cal{M}\;{\rightarrow}\;Y$ and $\psi_{y^*}\;:\;\cal{M}\;{\rightarrow}\;X^*$ are DP1 operators, where $\phi_x(T)\;=\;Tx$ and $\psi_{y^*}(T)\;=\;T^*y^*$ for $x\;{\in}\;X$, $y^*\;{\in}\;Y^*$ and $T\;{\in}\;\cal{M}$.

치즈 및 된장에서의 쓴 맛 펩타이드 특성 (Characteristics of Bitter Peptides from a Cheese and a Soybean Paste)

  • 단백발효식품에서의 쓴맛 펩타이드의 특성을 규명하기 위하여 여러 시료로부터 소수성 펩타이드를 2 1(v/v) chloroform-methanol로 추출하였다 이 중 모짜렐라치즈와 된장으로부터 얻은 쓴맛 텝타이드 추출물을 다시 Sephadex C-25 겔 크로마토그라피한 결과 분획 I II, III을 얻었는데 이들 시료 자체와 각각의 크로마토그라피 분획을 구성하고 있는 펩타이드의 아미노산 조성을 분석하여 평균소수도를 계산하였다. 시료들 자체는 쓴 맛을 나타내지 않았으나 용매로 추출된 소수성 펩타이드 분획은 강한 쓴 맛을 나타내었다. 시료의 용매추출 수율은 총 질소 함량의 0.08내지 62.50%의 범위로 나타났다. 모짜렐라치즈 질소물의 평균 소수도는 1.376cal/mole, 용매추출 분획은 1.623cal/mole. 젤 크로마토그라피 분획 I은 1,797cal/mole, 분적 II 는 2,454cal/mole, 분획 III은 1,559cal/mole 이었다. 된장의 경우 된장 자체, 용매추출 분획, 겔 크로마토그라피 분획 I, II, III의 평균소수도는 각각 1,229. 1,654, 1900, 2016, 998cal/mole 이었다. 쓴맛 펩타이드에서 중요한 아미노산을 leucine, Phenylal anine. p-roline, valine으로 나타났다.

韓國女子大學生의 要求 Calorie 量과 榮養素攝取量에 對한 調査硏究 (第 1 報) (Studies on Requirement Calorie and Nutrient Intake of College Women Students in Korea (Part 1))

  • 금반 한국여자대학생 28명에 대하여 소비열량과 영양상황을 조사한 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1) 본조사에 있어서 여자대학생(20-21세)의 평균신장은 157.1cm, 체중 51.75kg, 체표면적 1.5m$^2$, 기초 대사량 1303Cal, 안정시 대사량 1563Cal, 활동대사량 469Cal, 1인 1일 총평균 소비열량(요구열량) 2032Cal였다. 한편 그들의 섭취열량은 1880Cal 로서 152Cal가 소비열량보다 부족하게 섭취되어져 있었다. 2) 단백질, 철분, 비타민B1, C는 요규량에 족하였고, Calorie, 지방, 탄수화물, 칼슘, 비타민 A, B2 는 섭취량이 부족하였다. 3) 총 54종의 식품에 의하여 먹혀졌으며 주로 식물성식품(83.7%)에 의하여 영양이 공급되었고 동물성식품은 16.2%밖에 공급되지 않았었다. 또한 수산동식물성 식품은 불과 7.4% 밖에 영양을 주지 못한 식성구성을 이루고 있었다.

  • Given vectors x and y in a Hilbert space $\cal{H}$, an interpolating operator is a bounded operator T such that Tx = y. An interpolating operator for n vectors satisfies the equations $Tx_i=y_i$, for i = 1, 2, ${\cdots}$, n. In this paper the following is proved : Let $\cal{L}$ be a subspace lattice on a Hilbert space $\cal{H}$. Let x and y be vectors in $\cal{H}$ and let $P_x$ be the projection onto sp(x). Candida antarctica lipase B의 상동체 효소 탐색과 발현 (Exploration and functional expression of homologous lipases of Candida antarctica lipase B)

  • Candida (Pseudozyma로도 알려짐) antarctica lipase B(CAL-B)는 학문적으로 그리고 산업적으로 많이 활용되고 있다. CAL-B 자체에 대한 연구는 많이 진행되어온 반면, CAL-B 상동체에 관한 연구는 그리 알려진 바가 없다. 본 연구에서는 단백질 유사성 검색을 통해서 CAL-B의 상동체 탐색을 수행하였고, 6종의 단백질 서열을 찾았다. 해당하는 유전자들을 대장균에 대한 코돈 최적화를 수행하였고, 이를 바탕으로 유전자 합성을 진행하였다. 이들 유전자를 대장균 발현용 벡터에 클로닝한 후, 대장균 내에서 단백질 발현을 시도하여 이들 중 4종의 단백질이 성공적으로 발현되었다. 이들 단백질들이 가수분해 효소로서의 활성이 있는지 확인하기 위해서, 4-nitrophenyl acetate와 4-nitrophenyl butyrate를 반응기질로 하여 가수분해 반응성을 확인하였다. 이들 단백질들의 비활성(specific activity)값은 $(1.3-30){\times}10^{-2}{\mu}mol/min/mg$로 측정되었고, 이는 CAL-B의 비활성 수치보다는 다소 낮은 값에 해당하였다. (${\pm}$)-1-phenylethyl acetate의 가수분해 반응에 대한 입체선택성은 이들 상동체 효소들 중에서 Pseudozyma hubeiensis SY62에서 유래된 효소만이 CAL-B의 입체선택성과 유사함이 확인되었다.

Anti-Gastritis and Anti-Oxidant Effects of Chenopodium album Linne Fractions and Betaine

  • Chenopodium album Linne (CAL) is a fast-growing weedy annual plant. The leaves and young shoots may be eaten as a leafy vegetable. In oriental medicine, CAL has been used for treatment of skin disease, fever, stomach ache, toothache, and paralysis. After a preliminary screening of CAL ethanol extract and its fractions obtained from CAL leaves for anti-gastritic and anti-Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) activity, the butanol (BuOH) fraction was found to have the most significant effect. We also examined antioxidative properties of the total CAL extract and its fractions, and also betaine as an ingredient of the BuOH fraction. To investigate the antioxidant effects of CAL on gastritis, the reducing power, free radical scavenging activity using 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH), and lipid peroxidation effects were determined. Additionally, the BuOH fraction reduced cell viability in a concentration dependent manner in human gastric cancer cell lines. The results of this study revealed that CAL has excellent antioxidant activity, and may be useful in treating gastritis and gastric cancer.

CALS의 구축과 효과에 관한 연구

  • 본 논문은 기업의 경영혁신, 경쟁력 강화 및 생산성 향상의 주요 도구로서 각광받 고 있는 CALS의 구축과 효과에 대하여 이론적 문헌들을 중심으로 연구하였다. 특히 본 연 구에서는 첫째로 CALS의 이론적 배경에 대하여 간략하게 논하였다. 둘째, CALS의 구축사 례에 대하여 외국의 구축사례, 국내의 구축사례, 외국과 국내기업간의 CALS 구축의 차이점 에 대하여 구체적으로 분석하였다. 셋째, CALS의 도입으로 인한 효과와 문제점에 대하여 일반적인 효과, 부분적인 효과, 그리고 문제점으로 세분하여 논하였다. 끝으로, 본 논문을 요약하고 한께 및 향후 연구방향을 간략하게 제시하였다.

Holocene Environmental Change and Human Impact in Hoya Rincon de Parangueo, Guanajuato, Mexico

  • This paper presents a paleoenvironmental study on Hoya Rincon do Parangueo, a maar lake in Valle de Santiago in Central Mexican Bajio. Maar lake sediments have been widely used for high-resolution reconstruction of paleoenvironment. Many different paleoenvironmental proxy data such as stable isotopes, pollen, sediment chemistry, and dung fungus spore were produced in this study. The pine-oak ratio, stable isotopes, and sediment chemistry help to reveal paleoenviromental changes throughout the whole period covered by sediment materials from this study site. The evidence I found indicates that during ca. 9,500 $\sim$ ca. 8,300 cal yr B.P. there was dry climate; during ca. 8,300 $\sim$ ca. 6,300 cal yr B.P. it was wetter; during ca. 6,300 $\sim$ ca. 4,000 cal yr B.P. drier and cooler; during ca. 4,000 $\sim$ ca. 1,100 cal yr B.P. milder and wetter. The presence of Chupicuaro culture between ca. 2,500 $\sim$ 1,100 cal yr B.P. is implied by the high frequencies of Amaranthaceae and Zea mars. It seems that man left this lake around 1,100 cal yr B.P. due to a dry climate after 1,300 cal yr B.P. Spanish arrival around 400 cal yr B.P. is implied by the fact that fe3 mars reappears and Sporormiella spp. become significant around 120 cm, whereas Poaceae drops sharply.

The Regulation Mechanism of Chitin Synthetases in Saccharomyces cerevisiae

  • The three chitin synthetases of Saccharomyces cerevisiae, Chs1, Chs2, and Chs3, participate in septum and cell wall formation of vegetative cells and in wall morphogenesis of conjugating cells and spores. Because of the differences in the nature and in the time of execution of their functions, the synthetases must be specifically and individually regulated. The nature of that regulation has been investigated by measuring changes in the levels of the three synthetases and of the messages of the three corresponding gnes, CDSI, CHS2, and CAL1/CSD2/DITl0l(referred to below as CAL1), during the budding cycles. For Chs1 and Chs3, posttranslational regulation, probably by activation of latent forms, appears to be predominant. Since Chs2, like Chs1, is found in the cell in the zymogenic form, a posttranslational activation step appears to be necessary for this synthetase also. The regulation mechanism was investigated to search the relationship of CAL1, CAL2 and CALJ which is involved in Chs3 activity us ing different assay methods other than previous one. Treatment of Chs3-containing membranes with detergents drastically reduced the enzymatic activity. Activity could, however, be restored by subsequent incubation with trypsin or other pro teases in the presence of UDPGlcNAc. Experiments wi th mutants in the three genes invoIved in Chs3 activity-CAL1, CAL2, and CALJ-showed that only CAL1 and CALJ are required for the proteaseelicited (zymogenic) activity. It is concluded that Chs3 IS a zymogen and that the CAL2 product funct ions as its activator.ivator.

  • As dietary intakes levels of Calcium decrease below those recommended by health authorities the incidence of Osteoporosis is set to continue to rise. To address this issue it is becoming necessary to fortify regularly consumed foods such as cereals, biscuits etc. with ingredients such as AquaCal. AquaCal is a natural, organic source of calcium that is produced from calcified seaweed, Phymatolithon and Lithothamnion and can be utilised for Calcium and magnesium supplementation in a broad range of foods and beverages. AquaCal presents a great potential over other calcium sources because of its porous structure and it composition associating key minerals as calcium, magnesium and boron in addition to being neutral in taste in applications. Once consumed the efficacy of AquaCal must then be verified therefore a bioavailability a comparative feeding study to assess effects of AquaCal on bone density was carried out. There was no significant difference in bioavailability based on calcium absorption between AquaCal and Limestone however the weights of the femurs of the animals fed AquaCal did significantly increase over the group fed Limestone. As a natural and organic mineral AquaCal has many different fields of application.
