This study investigated the effects of situational context feedback in CAI upon students' conceptual understanding, science learning motivation, and the perception of CAI. Seventh graders (N = 114) from a coed middle school in Incheon were assigned to the situational context feedback CAI (SCF-CAI), the feedback CAI (F-CAI) and the CAI groups, and were taught about ‘three states of matter' and ‘motion of molecules' for 8 class hours. Prior science achievement test score used as a blocking variable. Two-way ANCOVA results revealed that the conceptual understanding test scores of the SCF-CAI group were significantly higher than those of the other groups. For the higher achievers, the scores of the F-CAI group in science learning motivation test were significantly higher than those of the CAI group. However, there was no significant difference among the lower achievers of three groups. The higher achievers in the SCFCAI and the F-CAI groups perceived the CAI more positively than those of the CAI group. The lower achievers in the FCAI group perceived the CAI more negatively than those of the other groups. Educational implications are discussed.
Two different CAI programs have been developed to study the affect of CAI element for the types of learners'performance; (i) one is the 'CAI program 1' including the open questions for the fourth grade (the fourth period of the 'Time and Angle' in chapter 3 of the first term) of the mathematics class in the elementary school, and (il) the other is 'CAI program 2' for the existing methods. The fourth grade of Andong Songhyun elementary school has been chosen as the study subjects (243 learners), and the t-test and learners'interview have also been used to analysis the results of CAI programs. The CAI programs have only been used as the control variable. The developed CAI programs have been applied two different learners'groups to investigate the degree of performance among the superior, average, and inferior learners. For the superior group (p<.0023) at the t<3.2268 level and for the average group (p<.0706) at the t<1.8211 level the learner' group using CAI program 1 shows the higher performance compared with the learners' group using the CAI program 2, whereas fur the inferior group (p<.8073) at the t<.2458 level two programs did not show any difference. The learners interviews show that the superior and average groups have an interest for the open problems, whereas the inferior group do not shows an interest for the open problems. Thus, the CAI programs including the open questions (open fields, open evaluation) will be helped to the learners' group with the individual differences. Furthermore, it is expected that the CAI programs including the open questions as the mathematics and the program model of CAI can be used to develope the CAI program in future.

Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate whether dancers with chronic ankle instability (CAI) exhibit different characteristics in dynamic postural control ability and ankle joint laxity compared to dancers without CAI and non-dancers with CAI. Method: Twelve dancers with CAI, 14 dancers without CAI, and 12 non-dancers with CAI participated in the study. Dynamic balance was evaluated using the Star Excursion Balance Test (SEBT) and the single-leg hop balance. The laxity of the ankle joint was evaluated through the anterior drawer test and the talar tilt test. SEBT measured maximum reach distances in anterior, posteromedial, and posterolateral directions. Single-leg hop assessed center of pressure (COP) and time-to-boundary (TTB) outcomes. One-way ANOVA and Chi-square tests were performed to compare the outcome variables among the three groups. Results: Dancers with CAI demonstrated greater reach distance in the posterolateral direction compared to non-dancers with CAI during SEBT (p=.014). Secondly, dancers without CAI showed greater reach distance in the posterolateral (p<.001) and posteromedial (p=.001) directions during SEBT compared to non-dancers with CAI. Additionally, dancers without CAI exhibited better postural control with higher TTB AP mean of minima (p=.003) and TTB AP standard deviation of minima (p=.012) during single-leg hop compared to nondancers with CAI. Thirdly, dancers with CAI showed a lower positive rate during the anterior drawer test compared to non-dancers with CAI (p=.019). Conclusion: Dancers with CAI demonstrated better ankle function and reduced mechanical instability compared to non-dancers with CAI. Therefore, to elucidate the underlying mechanisms of lateral ankle sprain and CAI development exacerbation in dancers, additional factors that can affect ankle sprain, such as visual dependence during postural control and evaluation in dance movements, should be explored.
This study is aimed at checking on the extent of practical use of CAI in mathematical classes in secondary schools, thus seeking a way of activating the practical use of CAI, with computer networks being widely used for education. This research was conducted among some 120 mathematics teachers and 350 students in middle and high schools in the City of Kunsan, with questionnaires designed to survey the extent and effectiveness of the use of CAI, the teachers and students' awareness of CAI. In consequence, this research shows the following: The use of CAI was of considerable help in conducting mathematics classes, along with CAI used in a more effective way, but education materials concerning CAI were poorly managed and not a few teachers was negative toward the use of CAI in mathematics classes. In short, the practical use of CAI was unsatisfactory, probably due to the lack of application ability on the part of teachers caused by the perfunctory teachers' training. In conclusion, the practical use of CAI in classes can be activated as follows: CAI apparatuses and other teaching aids should be systematically managed by experts; high-quality CAI programs need to be developed to help teachers conduct effective classes; teachers should be positively encouraged to make practical use of CAI through teachers' training and a plan of obligating teachers to use CAI for one or two fixed class hours in a week may be strongly recommended.

This study investigated the effects of computer-assisted instruction adapting to the level of students' conceptual understanding upon students' conceptual understanding, retention of conceptions, learning motivation, and perception about computer-assisted instruction in concept learning. 94 seventh grade students from a coed middle school in Seoul were randomly assigned to control, CAI, adaptive CAI groups, and were taught about 'motion of molecules' for 7 class periods. Two-way ANCOVA results revealed that the scores of a conception test and a learning motivation test for the adaptive CAI group were significantly higher than those for the control group. The scores of a retention test of conceptions for the adaptive CAI group were significantly higher than those for other two groups. There were no significant interactions between the instruction and the level of previous achievement in the scores of the conception test, the learning motivation test, and the retention test of conceptions. The perception about computer-assisted instruction for the students of the adaptive CAI group were more positive than those for the students of the CAI group.

This study was described and analyzed health care system in Lao Cai, Vietnam. We analyze organization and delivery of health care system, health care resources, heath care facilities, heath care finances, and health index in Lao Cai, Vietnam. Lao Cai Province is a mountainous region located on the Chinese border in North-West Vietnam, with numerous ethnic minority groups. Health care organization and delivery system in Lao Cai Province is well formed Province-District-Commune level with Vietnam Government's Socialism. However, health care personnels are concentrated in the major city and is lacking in commune level. Lao Cai province has only two general hospital and is lacking number of beds. Lao Cai province's health care sector is insufficient financial support because the primary goal of the Vietnam government is economic development. Ethnic minority groups in Lao Cai have a dual burden of disease and health. To solve this problem, it is dispatched health care personnel to the commune level taking advantage of the well health care organization and delivery system in Lao Cai. It is also necessary to modernize hospital and improve number of bed. The purposes of this study were to investigate what kinds of idea the children have after formal instruction in school, and to investigate what is the children's conceptual change on electric current after implementation of drill and practice type CAI program about electric circuit. The CAI program was developed by KEDI research project team the author of this article was joined. The subjects were 20 eleven yaers old(elementary fifth year) children sampled from a elementary school in Seoul, Korea. They had already learnt about electric circuits for two years before implementing this CAI program according to the formal science curriculum. The pretest were accomplished before implementing the CAI program, and posttest were accomplished a week after implementation of the CAI program. The results of this study are as follows: Even though they had studied electric circuits, only 5% of the students had scientific ideas before pretest, and even after drill and practice type CAI program only 30% of the students have changed their misconceptions into scientific conceptions.
