Sargassum confusum for Biosorption of Pb and Cr (알송이 모자반, Sargassum confusum을 이용한 Pb 및 Cr의 생물학적 흡착 및 탈착)

  • Biosorption of Pb and Cr by Sargassum confusum was evaluatet at in the various conditions. The uptake capacities for Pb and Cr were 197.5 mg Pb/g biomass and 133.1 mg Cr/g biomass, respectively. The adsorption parameters for Pb and Cr were determined according to the Langmuir and Freundlich model. Biosorption of Pb and Cr was increased with the increase of pH value. Pb and Cr adsorbed by S. confusum could be recovered by desorption process with 0.1 M HCl, 0.1 M $HNO_3$ and 0.1 M EDTA. The ratio of Pb desorption was above $93\%$, whereas the ratio of Cr desorption was below $30\%$.

  • 연안도시인 부산에서 상업지역을 제외하면, 모든 지역에서 북풍계열의 바람이 우세하였으며, 풍속의 빈도분포는 l~3 $^{m}/_{s}$에서 상업지역, 공업지역, 해안지역 그리고 농업지역순으로 높은 빈도를 보였으나, 또한 지역별 평균풍속과 최대풍속은 해안지역, 상업지역, 농업지역 그리고 공업지역 순으로 관측되어 공업지역의 경우 국지적인 영향이 높을 것으로 생각된다. 지각농축계수는 토양기원인 Ca, K, Si는 1.0 이하의 분포를 보였으나, Cd, Cu, Pb 그리고 Zn은 10 이상의 높은 값을 나타냈으며, Pb는 공업지역, 해안지역, 상업지역 그리고 농업지역 순으로 조사되었다.

  • The elements of the pigments used on the wall painting in Ssangyeongchong (Tomb of Two Pillars) from Goguryeo in the Nampo area of Pyeongyang were analyzed to confirm their mineral compositions and features of the painting. Specifically, the non-destructive X-ray fluorescence spectrometer (XRF) was used. On the other hand, the mineral composition of the background and pigment layers were analyzed using an X-ray diffractometer (XRD). The results of these analyses suggested that the lips of the characters in the painting were painted with HgS, and their faces, painted with HgS(Cinnabar/ vermilion) mixed with CaCO3. Note that lead white pigment [2PbCO3·Pb(OH)2] was found only on the bottom layer of the painting, indicating that the wall painting was likely to have been created using the Secco method.

  • A column test was conducted to find out the effect of application of slaked lime, calcium sulfate, calcium superphosphate, and phosphoric acid on the solubility of lead in soil. The soil was adjusted to 310.8 ppm concentration of Pb and applied with amounts of calcium equivalent to 600, 1000, 2000 ppm as slaked lime; sulfate 144, 288, 432 ppm as calcium sulfate; phosphate 95, 190, 285 ppm as calcium superphosphate and phosphoric acid, respectively. The results obtained are as follows: 1. The increasing application of improvement agents reduced the amounts of water soluble Pb in soil. Phosphoric acid was the most effect among to the treatments. 2. The slaked lime treatment has the highest pH of soil and the lowest at the phosphoric acid one. The soil Eh has a reverse tendency the soil pH. 3. Water soluble Ca, $PO_4$ and $SO_4$ contents increased with increasing application amounts of improvement agents in soil. 4. $1N-NH_4$ OAC soluble Pb content in soil was a decreasing tendency in the order of calcium superphosphate, phosphoric acid, slaked lime, calcium sulfate and control after experiment.

Effects of Pb and CO2 on the Growth of Pinus densiflora Seedlings (소나무(Pinus densiflora) 묘목의 생장에 미치는 납과 CO2의 영향)

  • This work was investigated the effects of the elevated $CO_2$ and Pb contamination on the growth of Pinus densiflora. Two-years pine trees were planted in Pb-contaminated soils (500 mg/kg-soil) and uncontaminated soils, and cultivated for 3 months in the growth chamber where $CO_2$ concentration was controlled at 380 or 760 ppmv. The growth of P. densiflora were comparatively analyzed in 4 kinds of soil samples (CA : $CO_2$ 380 ppmv + Pb 0 mg/kg, CB : $CO_2$ 380 ppmv + Pb 500 mg/kg, EA : $CO_2$ 760 PPmv + Pb 0 mg/kg, EB : $CO_2$ 760 ppmv + Pb 500 mg/kg). It was measured the growth changes of the p. densiflora caused by $CO_2$ concentration and Pb contamination. The growth of P. densiflora was remarkably inhibited in the Pb-contaminated soil, although the biomass and the root elongations were not significantly affected by the elevated $CO_2$. These results suggested that the growth of p. densiflora was sensitively influenced by Pb contamination rather than $CO_2$ concentration. Compared to the initial soil, total Pb concentration in the soil samples was decreased at 760 ppmv $CO_2$ as well as at 380 ppmv $CO_2$ after 3 months. The accumulation of Pb in the roots at 760 ppmv $CO_2$ was two-fold of that at 380 ppmv $CO_2$, indicating that Pb bioavailability in the root of p. densiflora might be affected by the elevated $CO_2$.

  • Alternating current (AC) losses of two Bi-2223 ([Bi, Pb]: Sr: Ca: Cu: O = 2:2:2:3) tapes [(Tape I, un-twist-pitch) and the other with a twist-pitch of 10 mm (Tape II)] were measured and compared. These samples, produced by the powder-in-(Ag) tube (PIT) method, are multi-filamentary. Also, it's produced by non-twist and different twist pitch (8, 10, 13, 30, 50 and 70 mm). The critical current measurement was carried out under the environment in liquid Nitrogen and in zero-field by 4-probe method. Susceptibility measurements were conducted while cooling in a magnetic field. Flux loss measurements were conducted as a function of ramping rate, frequency and field direction. The AC flux loss increases as the twist-pitch of the tapes decreased, in agreement with the Norris Equation. Neutron-diffraction measurements have been carried out investigate the crystal structure, magnetic structures, and magnetic phase transitions in Bi-2223([Bi, Pb]:Sr:Ca:Cu:O)

Elemental Analysis of Road Aerosols using by a PIXE Method (PIXE 분석법에 의한 도로변 분진의 원소분석)

  • Aerosol Particles were collected in a heaby traffic region in pusan. Samples were collected in two size fractions with a two-stage sampler during the day and the night. Elemental concentrations of these aerosol particles were determined by a PIXE(Proton Induced X-ray Emission) analysis method. The results suggest that the elements originating mainly from natural sources such as Si, Ca, Fe, Cl, and K are dominent in the coarse fraction, but the elements such as S, Pb, Br, and Zn are dominent in the fine fraction. Br/Pb ratio are evaluated in both coarse and fine size fraction, and which are mainly emitted automobile sources. The study further also discussed other Br/Pb ratio related works described elsewhere. Sulfur in the fine fraction was continuously increased during the sampling period without time variation.

  • PbTi $O_3$ family ceramics can be used for the piezoelectric transformer using thickness extensional vibration mode because it is a material with the large anisotropy between electromechanical coupling factors $k_{t}$ and $k_{p}$. However, PbTi $O_3$ family ceramics have a difficult poling condition on account of its large anisotrophy. In this study, the structural and piezoelectric properties of (P $b_{0.76}$ $Ca_{0.24}$)[ $Ti_{0.96}$(M $n_{1}$3/S $b_{2/3}$)$_{0.04}$] $O_3$ system ceramics were investigated as a function of poling voltage in order to find the best poling condition.ion.n.n.ion.n.

  • In this paper, the $(SrPb)(CaMg)TiO_3$ ceramics with paraelectric properties were fabricated by the mixed oxide method. It was investigated that which the variation of contents of $Bi_2O_3{\cdot}3TiO_2$ effects on structural, dielectrical and electrical properties of specimens. As a result, the grain size were grown with increasing the contents of $Bi_2O_3{\cdot}3TiO_2$. The relative dielectric constants were increased up to 4[mol%] of $Bi_2O_3{\cdot}3TiO_2$, and decreased more or less at a low temperature in the specimens which had more than. But the temperature coefficient. of capacitance were showed ${\pm}25$[%]. The dielectric loss were less than 0.05 in all specimens which had more than 4[mol%] of $Bi_2O_3{\cdot}3TiO_2$. In order to investigate the behavior of charged particles, the characteristics of electrical conduction were measured. As a result, the conduction current was divided into the three steps as a function of DC electric field. The first step was Ohmic region due to ionic conduction, below 15[kV/cm]. The second step was showed a saturation which seems to be related to a depolarizing field occuring in field-enforced ferroelectric phase, between 15[kV/cm] and 40[kV/cm]. The third step was attributed to Child's law related to space charge which injected from electrode, above 40[kV/cm].

  • Samples with the nominal composition, B $i_{1.84}$P $b_{0.34}$S $r_{1.91}$C $a_{2.03}$C $u_{3.06}$ $O_{10+}$$\delta$/ high $T_{c}$ superconductors containing As as an additive were fabricated by a solid-state reaction method. Samples with Ag of 10wt%, 30 wt% and 50 wt% each were sintered at 86$0^{\circ}C$~875$^{\circ}C$ for 24 hours. The structural characteristics, critical temperature and grain size with respect to Ag contents were analyzed by XRD(X-ray Diffraction) and SEM(Scanning Electron Microscope), respectively. As Ag contents increased, XRD peaks of g in Bi-2223 phase superconductors intensified and the proportion of the phase transition from Bi-2223 to Bi-2212 was increased.increased.
