Studies on Characteristics of $ZnCa_2O_4$ Prepared by Glycine Nitrate Process anti S01id State Reaction for FE8 Phosphor (GNP법과 고상반응법으로 제조한 FED 형광체용 $ZnCa_2O_4$ 분말의 특성에 관한 연구)

  • PED용 형광체로 사용되는 ZnCa$_2$O$_4$를 Clycine Nitrate Process로 합성하여 고상 반응법으로 합성한 ZnCa$_2$O$_4$ 분말과 비교 분석하였다. 또한 Glycine Nitrate Process로 제조시 Mn의 doping 농도를 변화시키면서 각각의 조성비에 따른 발광특성을 알아보았다. TGA 측정 결과 GNP법으로 합성된 ZnCa$_2$O$_4$ 의 경우 약 40$0^{\circ}C$ 이상에서 무게감량의 변화가 없었으며, XRD 상분석 결과 연소반응 후 이미 상형성이 이루어짐을 알 수 있었다. PL측정을 결과 GNP(GIycine Nitrate Process)로 제조된 ZnCa$_2$O$_4$분말의 발광효율이 고상 반응법으로 제조된 분말보다 우수하였으며, 균일하고 비표면적이 큰 단일상임이 관찰되었고, 더 작은 에너지와 시간으로 제조할 수 있는 장점이 있었다

A Study on Composition and Dosimetry of the $CaSO_4$ Phosphors ($CaSO_4$ 열형광체의 조성과 선량측정에 관한 연구)

  • [ $CaSO_4$ ] thermoluminescent phosphors was made by sintring the $CaSO_4$ after doping the transition elements Tm, Pd, Dy, V, Mo, Zr. The maximum Peaks are found in the measured $CaSO_4$(Tm, Pd, Dy, V, Mo, Zr) TL glow curve at $130^{\circ}C,\;110^{\circ}C,\;140^{\circ}C,\;100^{\circ}C$, and $120^{\circ}C$ when the heating rate is $5^{\circ}C/sec$. The activation energy of the main peak has been estimated by the peak shape method. The estimated activation energies are 1.02eV, 1.32eV, 1.12eV, 0.80eV, and 1.17eV, respectively. The thermoluminescence process in $CaSO_4$(Tm, Pd, Dy, V, Mo, Zr)are found to the 2nd order when the main peak of the glow curve is analyzed by peak shape method. The dose responses of $CaSO_4$(Tm, Pd, Dy, V, Mo, Zr) phosphors are linear within $4{\times}10^{-4}{\sim}1Gy$ of X-rays.

  • Strontium doped lanthanum manganite (LSM) with perovskite structure for SOFC cathode material shows high electrical conductivity and good chemical stability, whereas the electrical conductivity at intermediate temperature below $800^{\circ}C$ is not sufficient due to low oxygen ion conductivity. The approach to improve electrical conductivity is to make more oxygen vacancies by substituting alkaline earths (such as Ca, Sr and Ba) for La and/or a transition metal (such as Fe, Co and Cu) for Mn. Among various cathode materials, $LaSrMnCuO_3$ has recently been suggested as the potential cathode materials for solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs). As for the Cu doping at the B-site, it has been reported that the valence change of Mn ions is occurred by substituting Cu ions and it leads to formation of oxygen vacancies. The electrical conductivity is also affected by doping element at the A-site and the co-doping effect between A-site and B-site should be described. In this study, the $La_{1-x}Sr_xMn_{0.8}Cu_{0.2}O_{3{\pm}{\delta}}$ ($0{\leq}x{\leq}0.4$) systems were synthesized by a combined EDTA-citrate complexing process. The crystal structure, morphology, thermal expansion and electrical conductivity with different Sr contents were studied and their co-doping effects were also investigated.

The influence of doping $DY_2O_3$ on electrical properties of (Ba,Sr,Ca)$TiO_3$ thick films ((Ba,Sr,Ca)$TiO_3$ 후막의 전기적 특성에 미치는 $Dy_2O_3$첨가의 영향)

  • 페로브스카이트 구조의 (Ba,Sr,Ca)$TiO_3$ 분말에 $Dy_2O_3$ 불순물을 첨가하여 첨가량에 따른 영향을 연구하였다. 시편의 제작은 Screen-printing을 이용하여 후막으로 제작하였으며, 구조적인 특성과 전기적인 특성을 관찰하였다. XRD 회절 분석을 통하여 $Dy_2O_3$가 첨가된 모든 시편에서 이차상이 없는 전형적인 페로브스카이트 구조를 나타내었다. 시편의 미세구조를 관찰한 결과 grain size는 $Dy_2O_3$ 첨가량이 증가 할수록 감소하였으며, 기공은 증가하는 것을 알 수 있었다. 후막의 두께는 $Dy_2O_3$ 첨가량에 영향을 받지 않았으며 평균 두께는 $69{\mu}m$이었다. 큐리 온도는 $Dy_2O_3$ 첨가량에 따라 감소하였으며, 유전 손실은 상온 이상에서 1%이하로 크게 감소하였다.

  • High brightness and long persistent luminescence phosphor $CaAl_2O_4:Eu^{2+}$ was prepared with varying $Eu^{2+}$ concentration by solid state reaction technique. Synthesized materials were investigated by powder X-ray diffractometer (XRD), SEM, TEM, photoluminescence excitation and emission spectra. Broad band UV excited luminescence of the $CaAl_2O_4:Eu^{2+}$ was observed in the blue region (${\lambda}_{max}\;=\;440\;nm$) due to transitions from the $4f^65d^1$ to the $4f^7$ configuration of the $Eu^{2+}$ ion. The decay time of the persistence indicated that the persistent luminescence phosphor has bright phosphorescence and maintains a long duration. These materials have great potential for outdoor night time displays.

  • Sinterability and stability of TZP ceramics co-stabilized by 12 mol% CeO2 and divalent or trivalent oxides less than 1 mol% were investigated. Divalent and trivalent oxides increased stability of tetragonal ZrO2. 100% tetragonal ZrO2 phase was obtained by doping 12 mol% CeO2 and 0.2 mol% CaO and MgO respectively when sintering was carried out at 1500$^{\circ}C$ for 2 hours. Divalent and trivalent oxides improved sinterability and inhibit grain growth of ZrO2. And it was found that CaO was the most effective sintering aid and grain growth inhibitor for ZrO2 in this study. Incorporation of divalent and trivalent oxides into 12Ce-TZP increased the strength of 12Ce-TZP and particulary 12Ce, 0.4Ca-TZP exhibited a flexural strength of about twofold greater than 12Ce-TZP.

  • $(Ba_{1-x}Sr_{0.4}Ca_x)TiO_{3}$ (x=0.10, 0.15, 0.20) powders were prepared by the sol-gel method and BSCT thick films were fabricated by the screen-printing method. Their structural and dielectric properties were investigated with variation of composition ratio and $Al_{2}O_{3}$ doping contents. As results of the X-ray diffraction and microstructure analysis, the grain size of BSCT thick films was decreased with increasing $Al_{2}O_{3}$ amount. The thickness of BSCT thick films by 4-coating/drying is about $110{\sim}120{\mu}m$. The tunability increased with decreasing Ca content, and the BSCT(50/40/10) specimen doped with 1.0wt% $Al_{2}O_{3}$ showed the highest value of 12.94% at 5kV /cm.

A Study on the Superconducting prperties of Bi system bulk (Bi system bulk의 superconducting properties)

  • The effects of Au addition on the structure and the superconducting properties of Bi system bulk have been investigated. Au exists in the metalic form in above materials. It does not affect the formation and structure of the BiSrCaCuO(2223) phase. The superconducting transition temperature Tc does not change for $Bi_{1.7}Pb_{0.3}Sr_2Ca_2Cu_3O$ composite However Au doping can make the grains smaller. Metallic Au can make gathers on the grains boundary and lead to the increment of critical transport current density. The current density of $Bi_{1.7}Pb_{0.3}Sr_2Ca_2Cu_3Au_{0.5}O$ was 1000A/$cm^2$ at liquid nitrogen temperature.

  • The phosphor $CaTiO_3:Pr^{3+}$ attracts much attention as a low-voltage red phosphor because of its good chromaticity and intrinsic conductivity. The addition of Ga into this CaTiO₃:Pr led the luminance intensity to greatly enhance without the change of the wavelength for the electronic transition and the peak shape of it. The increase of the recombination rate of electron-hole pairs through the Ga ion doping, which was expected to play a role of a hole-trap center, is proposed to be one of the reasons for the enhancement of the cathodoluminescence intensity.
