  • The EVA polymer is used as a modifier in the repair mortar, which contains various admixtures and mineral admixtures. It has been reported that the effect of polymer in cement mortar by the cement-polymer ratio only, but effect of admixtures over the polymer mortar was unknown. In this study, the fresh and mechanical properties of polymer cement mortar influenced by the range of admixtures(CSA expansive addictive, CSA accelerator, gypsum, silica fume) ratio were investigated.

  • Hardened cement pastes of OPC which contains 10 wt% CSA type expansive additives were immersed in aqueous solution of 10 wt% MgS $O_4$.7$H_2O$ and then investigated by compressive strength, XRD. SEM and DSC etc.. According to the results including the hydration products and the microstructure of the hardened paste, the case of CSA type expansive additives[No. 6(C/(equation omitted) : 2.29, A/(equation omitted) : 0.16)] prepared from raw materials increased the resistance to $Mg^{2+}$, S $O_4$$^{2-}$ ion diffusion than that of OPC paste due to the densification by the formation of fine ettringite in the first stage and the hydrates according to $\beta$-C$_2$S hydration in the late period.

  • Using an expansion admixture can reduce an initial shrinkage crack and improve a prestress. Therefore, this paper presents the results of a study performed to evaluate this deformation and obtain a better understanding of the behavior of SHCC using an expansion admixture. To evaluate a performance of SHCC using an expansion admixture was tested a drying shrinkage, compressive strength, flexural strength, and tensile strength.

  • Recently, high performance concrete developed has a good quality at fresh and hardened state, but high binder contents results in spending much money on manufacturing and many cracks by drying and autogenous shrinkage, Therefore, in this paper, not only prevention of cracks caused by drying and autogenous shrinkage, but improvement of quality and accomplishment of economy by applying F.A(fly ash), S.F(silica fume) and CSA(calcium sulfa aluminate) expansive additives as an inorganic admixtures in W/B 35% are discussed. According to the experimental results, when 5% of CSA expansive additives and 15:5(F.A:S.F)are replaced at unit cement content, high performance concrete with both good fluidity at fresh state and high compressive strength, compensation of drying and autogenous shrinkage at hardened state are accomplished.

  • Recently, high strength, flowability, and durability of concrete were required according to increase of large scale and high rise structure. However, cracks occurred easily on the high performance concrete. In this reason, using expansion agent for reducing shrinkage cracks were increased, but it did not consider on durability of high performance concrete. Accordingly, this study1 investigated the resistance of shrinkage and damage form salt by mixing CSA expansion agent on the blast-furnace slag cement and mixed cement for the low heat of hydration by three components. The cases that 8% of expansion agent was mixed and the proportion was OPC were expanded till 43.7 times compared with control concrete. For the resistance to the damage of salt, it was improved when mixing ratio was incresed and the maximum size of coarse aggregate growed bigger. In this study, the resistance to the damage of salt of the cases that 8% of expansion agent was mixed was improved about 16% compared with control concrete.

  • In this study, experimental tests of chemical and autogenous shrinkage were performed to evaluate the early age shrinkage behaviors of ultra high performance cementitious composites (UHPCC) with various replacement ratios of silica fume (SF), shrinkage reducing agent (SRA), expansive admixture (EA), and superplasticizer (SP). Starting time of self-desiccation, was analyzed by comparing the setting times and the deviated point of chemical and autogenous shrinkage strains. The test results indicated that both SF and SRA augment the early age chemical shrinkage, whereas SP delays the hydration reaction between cement particles and water, and reduces chemical shrinkage. About 49% of autogenous shrinkage was depleted by synergetic effect of SRA and EA. The hardening of UHPCC was catalyzed by containing EA. Self-desiccation of UHPCC occurred prior to the initial setting due to the high volume fraction of fibers and low water-binder ratio (W/B).
