요중 코티닌 농도를 이용한 클럽 이용자들의 간접흡연 수준 평가 (Estimation of Secondhand Smoke Exposure in Clubs Based on Urinary Cotinine Levels)

  • Background: Increasing numbers of young people go to clubs. In Korea, however, no studies have been conducted regarding the exposure of club patrons to secondhand smoke. The present study was conducted to evaluate the degree of club customers' exposure to secondhand smoke. Methods: The study subjects included 10 male and 12 female non-smokers. The investigational site was a club located in Daegu. Urine samples were collected before exposure to secondhand smoke in the club and 6 hours after a 3-hour exposure. The urine cotinine levels were measured via the LC -MS/MS method. A survey was conducted to collect data regarding the subjects' smoking experiences and the degree of exposure to secondhand smoke in their daily lives. Results: The average urine cotinine level increased from 1.09 ${\mu}g/L$ to 5.55 ${\mu}g/L$ ($p$<0.05). No significant difference existed in the change in urine cotinine level between the male and female subjects. In addition, there was no significant difference in the change in urine cotinine level by the degree of exposure to secondhand smoke in daily life. Conclusions: The average urine cotinine level in all the subjects significantly increased after exposure to secondhand smoke. This is the first study on exposure to secondhand smoke in clubs; these results can be used to craft measures that reduce exposure to secondhand smoke in public places, such as clubs.

캔 아트 문화사업화 성공요인 도출 및 블루오션 전략 (Derivation of Key Success Factors for Can Art Culture Commercialization and Blue Ocean Strategy)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 캔 아트 문화 사업화를 위해 필요한 성공요인을 계층분석 연구방법론을 활용하여 도출하고, 캔 아트 문화사업화의 블루오션 전략을 제시 하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 가장 중요하다고 판단된 캔 아트의 문화사업화 성공요인은 Eco 상품화(0.227), 문화적 가치(0.223), 유통(0.217), 체험학습(0.202) 순으로 나타났다. 둘째, 캔 아트 산업이 성공하기 위해 중요한 세부 중요 요인은 Eco디자인(0.118), 재활용 인식개선(0.118), 교육적 가치 증대(0.117), Viral 마케팅(0.113), 정기적인 체험학습(0.105) 순으로 고려되었다. 그리고 본 연구시사점은 캔 아트를 블루오션으로서 창조해야 할 전략은 환경 공예교육으로 심화 시키고, Eco 상품화에 주력하는 것으로 제시하고 있다.

A Study on Arts and Crafts ideas with Works of William Morris

  • These days there is a flow of support for returning to design and handcraft, and the arts and crafts ideas of William Morris have an influence until the present over periods. The semanticity and methodology of guild production method supported by William Morris is studied. The foundation that human is in beautiful harmony with nature is on free labor and artistic life. In the organic relationship, the decline of art is understood as general crisis of culture, and human living condition should be changed in order to rouse the human sense of beauty and comprehension of art. Once human labor becomes artistic, the consumption living and local living become artistic as well. And then consumers desire more artistic works, structures, or urban spaces, and the demands for those move artificers to go toward producing more artistic works and structures. That is, the course of succession of art and culture through living is the driving force of social progress. Even if the period when Morris lived and the present are very different, this paper will shows that a large amount of art and culture will be greatly developed in twenty-first century which is 'the period led by cultural consumers', and the people directly creating art works will be also increased at the same time, as Alvin Toffler suggested. Furthermore, we can aware through this paper that such the people will rule the world. Finally it reached the period that we must face to 'making artistic life' as Morris expected a century ago. According to the result of this paper, we realized the study about Morris will contribute greatly to improve the quality of human life.

카디 운동을 통해서 본 복식의 의미에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Significance of the Costume with Khadi Campaign)

  • This study is to reconsider the symbolic potential of the costume by investigating the role of cloth in Indian culture, noting the fact that Indians wore hand-woven cloth and adopted a flag with the spinning wheel in the center as part of their nationalistic programs for independence. The results are as follows; The Indian cotton industry had held the fist position in the world and spinning and weaving had been an Indian national industry until the early part of the 19th century. As for the Indian cotton industry under the rule of Britain, Indian was reduced to being a colony producing raw materials and a market of cheap British finished goods, and eventually fell into anarchy with economic poverty of the general public and peasants'uprising mixed with the complaint of the intellectuals. The Indian National Movement started as a resort to escape the British rule because of continuous poverty and social exhaustion, and its pivot was Gandhi. Gandhi launched a revolutionary noncooperation movement in Indian society with diverse races, religions and castes, and developed nation-wide campaigns such as Boycott, Swadeshi, the encouragement of spinning wheels, etc. Gandhi urged that Indians' weak identity and poverty were caused by the dissolution of their native craft and that the Indians should wear Indian products for economic independence. Accordingly, leaders of Indian National Congress regarded a spinning wheel as an economic necessity and national symbol, and approved manual spinning and weaving as part of their nationalistic programs in order to drew the general public to the nationalistic movement in 1920. They also decided that all Congressmen should wear hand-woven cloth, Khadi, and adopted spinning wheels as the logo type of Indian National Congress. Khadi, Indian national cloth, was a symbol of national unification, freedom and equality, and also a means of economic self-sufficiency, Swadeshi, and eventually led India to autonomy, Swaraji. Therefore, it can be concluded that the cloth converted Indias economic and political identity.

Vivienne Westwood 작품에 나타난 미적 특성과 다원적 절충주의 분석 연구 (The Analytical Study on the Plural Eclecticism and the Aesthetic Characteristics through the Artwork of Vivienne Westwood)

  • This study is to investigate the previous cases of plural eclecticism through the works of Vivienne Westwood, who contributed to the spread of innovative and eclectic English fashion out to the world as well as to review plurality and its phenomena since the 20th century more systematically. In terms of research methodology, the phenomena of plural eclecticism were examined from social and cultural perspectives, whereas bibliographic research and case study were performed for the phenomena of eclecticism in fashion. From the perspective of plural eclecticism, the results from analyzing the works of Vivienne Westwood by the divisions of temporal eclecticism, spatial eclecticism, and contingent eclecticism are described in the following. First, Vivienne Westwood emphasized historicism tendency of temporal eclecticism. Her efforts to try to modernize history went beyond ages and social classes including men's clothing, prostitutes' costumes, craft items, and dresses for royal family. Second, her spatial eclecticism was reflected on the first collection themes inspired by the American Indians or borrowed from the names of Voodoo in the Tropics. Finally, infra-fashion as an expression of contingent eclecticism of Vivienne Westwood's works can be interpreted as plural eclecticism which shows contingent eclecticism and historic eclecticism at the same time. This study aimed at proving preceding implications concerning recent plural eclecticism through the analysis of the works of Vivienne Westwood who tried a radical design of plural eclecticism in an effort to modernize the tradition of England in the circumstances where a number of trends and styles exist together, with their own uniqueness and values.

네오 싱글(NEO SINGLE) 여성을 위한 브랜드 기획 및 상품 개발 (Brand Planning and Product Development for NEO-SINGLE Women)

  • Noting that there is an increasing trend of the so-called 'neo-single life style' among women these days, this research aims to make a product development for these neo-single women in this era of families of a single member by analyzing their concepts and characteristics. We payed a particular attention to the data from such sources as newspapers, magazines or the articles in the Internet. The essence of our research lies in the analysis of target market, in the suggestions in the brand planning and product development and in the designs of fashion and interior products for them. The result of this research is as follows. First, it turns out that these neo-single women enjoy a kind of multi-mixing code lifestyle rather than showing a preference for a particular brand. For this reason, we have decided to pursue a multi-concept brand fonn as a right direction for brand planning for them. Second, as for a philosophy behind the brands, we suggest a concept of 'small utopia' for neo-single women and express such as new aristocracy, happiness and pleasure. Third, we adopt 'YOU' as the name of the brand as it reflects their various life styles and characteristics. Fourth, as for the product development of F/W in 2007, we have decided on 'Minimal Natural' as it mixes up the concepts of the controlled beauty of sophistication and multi-functional elements and 'Modern Primitive' as it expresses the ethnic elements on modern images having craft factors and modern images. We have performed concrete tasks in creating images, coloring, making fabrics for each theme. Fifth, we have chosen and suggested other products that are suitable for these neo-single women who seek for multi-functional but simple kinds after surveying a wide range of products in magazines or in the Internet.

Rolling Motion Spectrum 에 의한 해난 발생의 원인분석에 관한 연구 (A Study about Analysis of Cause of several Capsized Sea Accidents by Rolling Motion Spectrum)

  • Marine casualities in the high sea are mainly classified into the breakage of hull and capsize , of which the latter occurs frequently to a small craft and container vessels by extreme rolling. The aim of this study is to develop shiphandling techniques for the prevention of ship's large rolling by way of evaluating dangerous degree of rolling in heavy weather. In this study, rolling motion is analized by using statistical method as follow : (1) 8 sample ships is presented for calculation. (2) Analized sea state are Beaufort scale 7 and 10 (wind velocity 30kts and 50kts respectively) and significant wave height is put as 5.2m and 11.2m. (3) The formula recommended by International Towing Tank Conference (ITTC) is used to calculated the wave spectrum. The results of this study are as follow : The results of this study are as follow : (1) Most of the vessels with beam of 20 meters or less was found to be capized in the waves abeam under the sea condition of Bearfort scale7(30kts). (2) For the vessels range 20m to 30m was found safe under the sea conditions of Bearfort scale 7(30kts) and imminent danger under the sea condition of Beaufort scale 11(50kts). (3) It is proved that any vessel could be capsized by heavy rolling regardless of vessel's size whenever the motion is synchronized with waves abeam. This study concludes that the navigator, especially at night , must anticipate the exact wave direction, referring to the wether report and coastaline, not to lay the vessel in the serial wave abeam.

  • 내항성능이 우수한 선체는 나쁜 해상상태에서도 효과적으로 운항이 가능하고, 여객과 화물을 안정된 상태로 유지시키게 된다. 이러한 선체의 운동은 선속과 파도의 조우주파수와 밀접한 관계를 가지고 있다. 운동응답에 대한 평가는 입사파에 대하여 3자유도 운동에 대한 계산이 수행되어야 한다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 카타마란형 레저보트의 선형설계를 수행하여 이에 대한 운동성능을 고찰하고자 하였다. 조우각과 선속의 변화에 따른 카타마란의 3자유도에 대한 RAO 및 RMS 값의 반복적인 평가를 통하여 양호한 운동응답을 보였다.

퍼지이론을 적용한 불확실성이 존재하는 조류충돌 해석 (Fuzzy Uncertainty Analysis of the Bird Strike Simulation)

  • 위그선(WIG: Wing In Ground effect)은 해수면상의 저고도에서 운영되기 때문에 조류충돌에 쉽게 노출될 수 있으며 특히 리딩에지(Leading Edge)는 충돌가능성이 높기 때문에 조류충돌에 대한 구조적 안정성 검증과정이 반드시 필요하다. 이러한 항공기에 대한 조류충돌은 매우 복잡한 현상중의 하나로 다양하고 불확실한 파라메터들이 존재한다. 조류충돌에 대한 해석과정에 있어서 불확실성이 존재하는 파라메터들이 충돌 해석결과에 미치는 영향력을 분석하기 위해 퍼지이론을 적용한 유한요소 해석을 수행하였다. 불확실한 파라메터들이 갖는 조류충돌에 대한 영향력은 비선형 충돌해석 프로그램인 LS-DYNA 3D를 사용하여 해석하였으며 조류충돌 현상에 존재하는 다양하고 불확실한 파라메터들은 퍼지숫자(Fuzzy number)와 멤버십 함수(Membership function)로 표현하여 퍼지연산 및 변환기법(Transformation method)을 통해 해석과정에 적용하였다. 결론적으로 불확실성이 존재하는 파라메터들이 조류충돌 현상에 미치는 영향력을 퍼지 연산을 통해 수치적으로 평가하였다.

19세기 인상주의 회화 작품 속에 표현된 쟈포니즘으로서의 일본 복식에 관한 연구 (A Study on Japanese Clothing as Japonism Expressed in the Impressionistic Painting Works of the 19th Century)

  • Japonese woodblock printing has been accepted with a great curiosity at first, and it has been called as 'Japonisme' or 'Japonaiserie' in which the school of Impressionism accepted the Japanese type of art and developed it in Europe. The term of Japonisme is the concept that does not refer to one style but to the taste for Japanese painting, craft, fashion and the like in Europe proved as the historical phenomenon through Japanese works. That is, it means every Japanese disposition including all artistic techniques and contents relating to Japanese tastes in Europe. Fashion of dress as Japanese expressed in European painting works not only symbolizes the 'modernity' expressive of the aspiration and nostalgia for Japan but presents the Japan of exotic taste as the inquisitive object of sexual interest. And the expressive method of the peculiar the beauty of the body was described in Japanese painting works because of the fashion characteristics that the frontal side of Japanese clothing was presented in a more decorative and formative way than its reverse side due to decorative design and belts. It could be found that this was introduced actively into the painting works of the impressionist school. This study attempts to discuss the expressive style including the pictorial style, technique and theme shown in the accommodating process of Japanese painting in the Impressionistic school and investigate the phenomenon of Japonisme that was conducted in the western Europe. Accordingly, this study attempts to find out that clothing takes an important place as the aesthetic category of one historical point in time by investigating the Japanese clothing of the times shown in impressionist painting works and that clothing forms the stylistic characteristics and formative characteristics of painting. It could be found that dress existed not only as the instrument capable of illustrating the aesthetic attitude or will of the human being as visual identity but as plastic art and became the prime mover for reinterpreting and changing the plastic style of art frontier.
