The effects of Mn and Cr on the crystallization behaviors of Fe-bearing intennetallics in A356 alloy were studied. Coarse and acicular ${\beta}-Al_{5}$FeSi phase in A356-0.20wt.%Fe alloy was modified into small ${\alpha}$-Al(Fe,Mn)Si and ${\alpha}$-Al(Fe,Cr)Si phases in response to Mn and Cr addition, respectively. Increasing of Mn addition amount elevates the crystallizing temperature of ${\alpha}$-Al(Fe,Mn)Si and the Mn/Fe ratio in the ${\alpha}$-Al(Fe,Mn)Si. Cr is more effective to modify ${\beta}-Al_{5}$FeSi in comparison with Mn. ${\alpha}$-Al(Fe,Mn)Si phase had BCC/SC dual structure.
We propose a new cache conscious indexing structure for processing frequently updated data efficiently. Our proposed index structure is based on a KDB-Tree, one of the representative index structures based on space partitioning techniques. In this paper, we propose a data compression technique and a pointer elimination technique to increase the utilization of a cache line. To show our proposed index structure's superiority, we compare our index structure with variants of the CR-tree(e.g. the FF CR-tree and the SE CR-tree) in a variety of environments. As a result, our experimental results show that the proposed index structure achieves about 85%, 97%, and 86% performance improvements over the existing index structures in terms of insertion, update and cache-utilization, respectively.
The aim of this study was performed the clinical test using Netspeg lens for good visual acuity on subjects with abnormal refraction status. The subjects of one hundreds adults (fifty males, fifty females, mean=21 years, range=19 to 24) were recorded. The subjects were researched the history including the systemic health, medication, genetics, allergy, systemic disease and ocular disease. The refraction test was recorded the monocular and binocular using objective method. Visual acuity was performed the binocular status using the Netspeg lens and CR-39. Stereopsis test was performed the titmus fly and TNO at near distance using Netspeg lens and CR-39. The P-VEP test was used the 16 pattern size(Bausch Lomb, production in USA) with three channels. Also Subjects viewed the p-vep stimulus with binocular vision through the corrected visual acuity using the Netspeg lens and CR-39. The contrast sensitivity test was performed the contrast sensitivity chart(pelli-Robertson, USA) at 1m distance using the Netspeg lens and CR-39. The ultrastructure of surface on the Netspeg lens and CR-39 was observed the SEM(JMS-5800, made in Japan). The results of this study was as follows: 1. In corrected visual acuity of abnormal refraction using the Netspeg lens and CR-39, the Netspeg lens wearer were acquired the good visual field and clear visual acuity comparative to CR-39 wearer in the subject vision test. however the comfort of visual acuity was similar results in the Netspeg lens and CR-39. Also the subjects of Netspeg lens wearer was good visual acuity more than CR-39 wearer and in the analysis of P-VEP, the amplitude of wave on Netspeg lens used appears to be better through the CR-39(p>0.5). Besides, on the contrast sensitivity, the Netspeg lens wearer was good results than CR-39. The value on stereopsis with TNO by Netspeg lens wearer was better than CR-39 in results. However, in the stereopsis test with Titmus, the Netspeg lens and CR-39 wearer was similar results. 2. The ultrastructure of Netspeg lens surface was the smooth and fine shape more than CR-39. Also, Netspeg lens have a fine line structure in ultrastructure. In conclusion, the results of this study conformed that the surface ultrastructure of Netspeg lens used is more specific pin hole design structure than CR-39. This study indicated that the vision of Netspeg lens used have a better than CR-39 in the corrected visual acuity for abnormal refraction eye. Therefore, In this paper, we suggested that the ultrastructure and line structure of Netspeg lens was related to good visual function. However the visual function of the aspheric Netspeg and ultra waterproof Netspeg lens was similar results.
This study investigates the microstructural properties of CoCrFeMnNi high entropy alloy (HEA) oxynitride thin film. The HEA oxynitride thin film is grown by the magnetron sputtering method using nitrogen and oxygen gases. The grown CoCrFeMnNi HEA film shows a microstructure with nanocrystalline regions of 5~20 nm in the amorphous region, which is confirmed by high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HR-TEM). From the TEM electron diffraction pattern analysis crystal structure is determined to be a face centered cubic (FCC) structure with a lattice constant of 0.491 nm, which is larger than that of CoCrFeMnNi HEA. The HEA oxynitride film shows a single phase in which constituting elements are distributed homogeneously as confirmed by element mapping using a Cs-corrected scanning TEM (STEM). Mechanical properties of the CoCrFeMnNi HEA oxynitride thin film are addressed by a nano indentation method, and a hardness of 8.13 GPa and a Young's modulus of 157.3 GPa are obtained. The observed high hardness value is thought to be the result of hardening due to the nanocrystalline microstructure.
The search for high-density recording materials has been one of most active and vigorous field in the field of magnetism. $FePt-L1_{0}$ nanoparticle has emerged as a potential candidate because of its high anisotropy. In this paper, we provide an overview of recent work at Argonne National Laboratory that contributes to the ongoing dialogue concerning the relation between structure and properties of the FePt nanoparticle system. In particular we discuss the ability to control structure and properties via dosing with Cr. Cr-dosed FePt films were grown via molecular beam epitaxy and annealed at $550^{\circ}C$ in an ultrahigh vacuum chamber, and were studied with the surface magneto-optic Kerr effect (SMOKE), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and x-ray magnetic circular dichroism (XMCD). We found that small dosage of Cr helps to generate $L1_{0}$ phase FePt magnetic nanoparticles with small size, defined shape and regular spatial distribution on MgO (001) substrate. The nanostructures are ferromagnetic with high magnetic coercivity (${\sim}0.9T$) and magnetic easy axis in the desired out-of-plane orientation. We also show that controlling the lateral region where nanostructures exist is possible via artificial patterning with Cr.

Effects of plasma-nitriding on the pitting corrosion of Fe-30at%Al-5at%Cr alloy containing Ti, Hf, and Zr were investigated using potentiostat in 0.1M HCl. The specimen was casted by the vacuum arc melting. The subsequent homogenization was carried out in Ar gas atmosphere at $1000^{\circ}C$ for 7days and phase stabilizing heat treatment was carried out in Ar gas atmosphere at $500^{\circ}C$ for 5 days. The specimen was nitrided in the $N_2$, and $H_2$, (1:1) mixed gas of $10^{-4}$ torr at $480^{\circ}C$ for 10 hrs. After the corrosion tests, the surface of the tested specimens were observed by the optical microscopy and scanning electron microscopy(SEM). For Fe-30at%Al-5Cr alloy, the addition of Hf has equi-axied structure and addition of Zr showed dendritic structure. For Fe-30at%Al-5Cr alloy containing Ti, plasma nitriding proved beneficial to decrease the pitting corrosion attack by increasing pitting potential due to formation of TiN film. Addition of Hf and Zr resulted in a higher activation current density and also a lower pitting potential. These results indicated the role of dendritic structure in decreasing the pitting corrosion resistance of Fe-30Al-5Cr alloy. Ti addition to Fe-30Al-5Cr decreased the number and size of pits. In the case of Zr and Hf addition, the pits nucleated remarkably at dendritic branches.
Al-Cr-Si ternary quench ribbons are fabricated using a single roll method and investigated for their structural and thermal properties. In particular, the sinterability is examined by pulse current sintering to obtain the following results. The Al74Cr20Si6 composition becomes a quasicrystalline single phase; by reducing the amount of Cr, it becomes a two-phase mixed structure of Al phase and quasicrystalline phase. As a result of sintering of Al74Cr20Si6, Al77Cr13Si10 and Al90Cr6Si4 compositions, the sintering density is increased with the large amount of Al phase; the sintering density is the highest in Al90Cr6Si4 composition. In addition, as a result of investigating the effects of sintering temperature and pressurization on the sintered density of Al90Cr6Si4, a sintered compact of 99% or more at 513 K and 500 MPa is produced. In particular, since the Al-Cr-Si ternary crystal is more thermally stable than the Al-Cr binary quaternary crystal, it is possible to increase the sintering temperature by about 100 K. Therefore, using an alloy of Al90Cr6Si4 composition, a sintered compact having a sintered density of 99 % or more at 613 K and 250 MPa can be manufactured. It is possible to increase the sintering temperature by using the alloy system as a ternary system. As a result, it is possible to produce a sintered body with higher density than that possible using the binary system, and at half the pressure compared with the conventional Al-Cr binary system.
Chromium(III) complexes, cis-[Cr([14]-decane)$(HOC _6H _4COO) _2$]$ClO _4$ I and cis-[Cr([14]-decane)(OH) $(OC _6H _4NO _2)$]$ClO _4{\cdot}H _2O$ II ([14]-decane = rac-5,5,7,12,12,14-hexamethyl-1,4,8,11-teraazacyclotetradecane) are synthesized and structurally characterized by a combination of elemental analysis, conductivity, IR and VIS spectroscopy, and X-ray crystallography. The complexes crystallizes in the monoclinic space groups, $C2 _1$/a in I and $P2 _1$/n in II. Analysis of the crystal structure of complex I reveals that central chromium(III) ion has a distorted octahedral coordination environment and two hydrogensalicylato ligands are unidentate to the chromium(III) ion via the carboxyl groups in the cis-position. For monomeric complex I the hydrogensalicylato coordination geometry is as follows: Cr-O(average) = 1.984(3) $\AA$;Cr-N range = 2.105(3)-2.141(4) $\AA$;C(24)-O(4) = 1.286(5) $\AA$;N(2)-Cr-N(4) (equatorial position) = 96.97(15)${^{\circ}}$; N(1)-Cr-N(3) (axial position) = 168.27(15)${^{\circ}}$; O(1)-Cr-O(4) = 85.70(13)${^{\circ}}$. The crystal structure of II has indicated that chromium(III) ion is six-coordinated by four secondary amines of the macrocycle, hydroxide anion and nitrophenolate anion.
Co-22%Cr alloy films are promising for high-density perpendicular magnetic recording media with their perpendicular anisotropy and large coercivity of 3000 Oe. We observed that a self organized nano structure(SONS) of fine ferromagnetic Co-enriched phase and paramagnetic Cr-enriched phase appears inside the grain of Co-Cr magnetic alloy thin films at the elevated substrate temperature after do-sputtering. We prepared 1000 $\AA$-thick Co-22%Cr films on 2000 $\AA$- SiO$_2$/Si(100) substrates at the deposition rate of 100 $\AA$/min with substrate temperatures of 3$0^{\circ}C$, 10$0^{\circ}C$, 15$0^{\circ}C$, 20$0^{\circ}C$, 30$0^{\circ}C$, and 40$0^{\circ}C$, respectively. We employed a vibrating sample magnetometer(VSM) to measure the B-H loops showing the saturation magnetifation, coercivity, remanence in in- plane and out- of- plane modes. In- plane coercivity, perpendicular coercivity, and perpendicular remanence increased as substrate temperature increased, how-ever they decreased after 30$0^{\circ}C$ slowly. Transmission electron microscope (TEM) characterization revealed that the self organized nano structure (SONS) appears at the elevated substrate temperature, which forms fine Co-enriched phases inside a grain, then it eventually affect the perpendicular magnetic property. Our results imply that we may tune the perpendicular magnetic properties with SONS obtained at appropriate substrate temperature.

In this paper, the concerned existing blind equalizer convergence rate and residual inter-symbol interference using constellation reduced and cost function by separation the real part and an imaginary part, the dual structure CR-CMA(constellation Reduction CMA). The CMA methed compensates amplitude but does no compensate phase, On the other hand, The CMA method compensates both the amplitude and the phase but it has the convergence rate problem, and the MCMA method is a way to solve the phase problem of CMA method compensates both the amplitude and the phase after respectively calculating the real part and imaginary part components. Proposal a new method that the dual structure of CR-CMA, the cost function and error function and respectively calculating the real part and imaginary part components can advantages by improving the CMA and the MCMA algorithms so that the amplitude and phase retrieval and constellation reduce the residual ISI and faster convergence rate and performance is good SER (Symbol Error Ratio) was confirmed by computer simulations.
