An Experimental Study on the Fluid Flow in Monolithic Catalyst Supports (모노리스 촉매담체내의 유체유동에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • 촉매변환기용 모노리스에서의 속도변화에 따른 압력강하를 알아보기 위하여 풍동을 제작하여 실험하였다. 200 cpsi, 300 cpsi와 400 cpsi의 모노리스 담체에 대한 압력강하를 측정하였고, 듀얼베드 형태에서의 압력강하를 알아보기 위하여 200 cpsi, 300 cpsi와 400 cpsi들 중 두 개씩 조합하여 두 모노리스 담체의 사이 간격을 변화시켜가면서 압력강하를 측정하였다. 또한 많이 사용되고 있는 촉매가 담지된 400cpsi의 모노리스를 이용하여 촉매 담지에 대한 유동의 영향을 살표보았다. 모노리스 상·하류간의 압력강하는 공극율에 상관없이 공기와 유로벽과의 접촉면적에 따라 증가한다. 실험 결과로부터 제안된 상관관계를 상용하여 모노리스 형상에 따른 압력강하를 근사적으로 예측 할 수 있다. 듀얼베드 형태에서의 압력강하는 상류부와 하류부의 개별적인 모노리스의 압력강하와 두 모노리스 사이에서의 압력강하의 합으로 볼 수 있는데, 두 모노리스 사이에서의 압력강하는 무시할 만 하였다. 따라서 듀얼베드 형태의 전체적인 압력강하는 상류부와 하류부의 개별적인 모노리스에서 생기는 압력강하만의 합으로 구할 수 있다. 촉매가 담지되지 않은 모노리스의 측정결과로부터 제안된 상관관계를 촉매가 담지된 모노리스의 압력강하를 예측하는데 사용하기 위해서는 모노리스 길이를 원래길이의 1.25배로 수정하여 사용하여야 한다.

Effect of Baenong Ickki San on Chronic Prostatitis/Chronic Pelvic Pain Syndrome: A Case Series (배농익기산의 만성전립선염/만성 골반동통 증후군의 치료 효과에 대한 증례 보고)

  • Objectives This case series reports the efficacy of Baenong Ickki San, a Bojungikki-tang -modified formula, in treating chronic prostatitis/chronic pelvic pain syndrome. Methods Patients diagnosed with chronic prostatitis/chronic pelvic pain syndrome (n=11) were treated with Baenong Ickki San. Changes in their condition were measured using the National Institutes of Health Chronic Prostatitis Symptoms Index (NIH-CPSI). Results NIH-CPSI scores showed a significant improvement in the disease. The mean NIH-CPSI total score significantly decreased from 37.6±5.8 at baseline to 7.5±3.9 at end point (p<0.001), i.e., a 30.2±7.3 mean decrease was noted. Conclusions Baenong Ickki San may be a potential new medicine for chronic prostatitis/chronic pelvic pain syndrome.

NOx Reduction Characteristics of Ship Power Generator Engine SCR Catalysts according to Cell Density Difference (선박 발전기관용 SCR 촉매의 셀 밀도차에 따른 NOx 저감 특성)

  • The selective catalytic reduction (SCR) is known as a very efficient method to reduce nitrogen oxides (NOx) and the catalyst performs reduction from nitrogen oxides (NOx) to nitrogen (N2) and water vapor (H2O). The catalyst, which is one of the factors determining the performance of the nitrogen oxide (NOx) ruduction method, is known to increase catalyst efficiency as cell density increases. In this study, the reduction characteristics of nitrogen oxides (NOx) under various engine loads investigated. A 100CPSI(60Cell) catalysts was studied through a laboratory-sized simulating device that can simulate the exhaust gas conditions from the power generation engine installed in the training ship SEGERO. The effect of 100CPSI(60Cell) cell density was compared with that of 25.8CPSI(30Cell) cell density that already had NOx reduction data from the SCR manufacturing. The experimental catalysts were honeycomb type and its compositions and materials of V2O5-WO3-TiO2 were retained, with only change on cell density. As a result, the NOx concentration reduction rate from 100CPSI(60Cell) catalyst was 88.5%, and IMO specific NOx emission was 0.99g/kwh satisfying the IMO Tier III NOx emission requirement. The NOx concentration reduction rate from 25.8CPSI(30Cell) was 78%, and IMO specific NOx emission was 2.00g/kwh. Comparing the NOx concentration reduction rate and emission of 100CPSI(60Cell) and 25.8CPSI(30Cell) catalysts, notably, the NOx concentration reduction rate of 100CPSI(60Cell) catalyst was 10.5% higher and its IMO specific NOx emission was about twice less than that of the 25.8CPSI(30Cell) catalysts. Therefore, an efficient NOx reduction effect can be expected by increasing the cell density of catalysts. In other words, effects to production cost reduction, efficient arrangement of engine room and cargo space can be estimated from the reduced catalyst volume.

Effect of Meridian Tendino-musculature Acupuncture on a Patient with Chronic Prostatitis (골반통 및 배뇨곤란을 주소로 하는 전립선염 환자의 경근자법 치험례)

  • Objectives : The objective of this study was to report a effectiveness of meridian tendino-musculature acupuncture on the pelvic pain and dysuria in a patient with chronic prostatitis. Methods : A patient with Pelvic pain and Dysuria was treated with acupuncture and moxibustion. Before and After treatment we measured International Prostate Symptom Score(IPSS), National Institutes of Health-Chronic Prostatitis Symptom Index(NIH-CPSI) and Visual Analogue Scale(VAS). Results : International Prostate Symptom Score(IPSS), National Institutes of Health -Chronic Prostatitis Symptom Index(NIH-CPSI) and Visual Analogue Scale(VAS) scores were decreased considerably after 14 times treatment. Conclusions : It was suggesting that symptoms(pelvic pain and dysuria) of chronic prostatitis could be improved by acupuncture and moxibustion treatment in the view of the meridian tendino- musculature acupuncture.

The clinical study on chronic bacterial prostatitis (만성 전립선염에 대한 임상적 고찰 -만성 세균성 전립선염 2예를 중심으로-)

  • Objectives : This study was designed to evaluate the clinical effects of herb medicine and acupuncture therapy on chronic bacterial prostatitis. Method : A clinical observation was made on two patients with chronic bacterial prostatitis diagnosed with DNA analysis. They were treated with herb medicine and acupuncture therapy. Before and after treatment we measured National Institutes of Health Chronic Prostatitis Symptom Index(NIH-CPSI) and WBC counts on expressed prostatic secretion(EPS). Results : According to DNA analysis, Streptococcus mitis and Veillonella was proved to be the cause for chronic bacterial prostatitis for each patients. After treatment, NIH-CPSI score improved from severe to mild, and WBC counts on EPS decreased considerably from many to under 10. Conclusion : The present result suggest that oriental medical therapy has effect on chronic bacterial prostatitis. Further clinical study about chronic bacterial prostatitis, and research on herbal medicine sensitive to each bacterium causing chronic bacterial prostatitis is needed.

  • Objective It is difficult medicine pass by prostatic barrier. so prostatis is charaterized as relatively incurable illness. Neverthless in chronic prostatis, there is improvement of symptom and blood test numberical index by hominis placenta herbal-acupunture. The purpose of this report is evaluate of improvement of symptom and blood test numberical index by hominis placenta herbal-acupunture Method We observed 2 chronic proststis patient for 6 months. It is evaluate of treatment effect by NIH-chronic prostatis symptom index(CPSI) and expressed prostatic secretion(EPS) per 1month. Result The hominis placenta herbal-acupunture therapy is effective to treat chronic proststis. NIH-CPSI and EPS WBC were decreased considrably.

  • The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of Kamipaejangjihwang-tang on chronic prostatitis. Fifty six patients with chronic prostatitis were enrolled this study. We administerd Kamipaejangjihwang-tang to patient during 45 days. Before and after treatment we measured NIH-CPSI(NIH chronic prostatitis symptom score index). After treatment NIH-CPSI was decreased significantly. This result indicated Kamipaejangjihwang-tang be useful for treatment of chronic prostatitis.

  • Chronic prostatitis/Chronic pelvic pain syndrome (CP/CPPS) is a common disorder to men that involved urinary symptoms and sexual activity-related discomfort. As a pathophysiology of the diseases has not been established, CP/CPPS is diagnosed on the basis of symptoms, principally pain or discomfort in the pelvic region. The purpose of this study is to report the clinical effects of Korean medicine, Sibimijihwang-tang(十二味地黃湯), bee venom pharmacopuncture, and acupuncture treatment on 6 cases of CP/CPPS. 6 patients were treated with Korean medicine, Sibimijihwang-tang and acupuncture and bee venom pharmacopuncture was given into Hoeeum(CV1) et al. National Institutes of Health Chronic Prostatitis Symptom Index (NIH-CPSI) was used to assess treatment effect. After treatment, NIH-CPSI decreased significantly all the patients. Sibimijihwang-tang, bee venom pharmacopuncture and acupuncture treatment was shown fairly effective to CP/CPPS.

A CFD Analysis on DPF for the Removal of PM from the Emission of Diesel Vehicle (디젤차량 배기가스의 PM 제거에 관한 매연여과장치 전산해석)

  • Recently, due to the increase in the fine dust, regulations on PM generated from diesel cars are strengthened. There is a growing interest in diesel particulate filters (DPFs), a post-treatment device that removes exhaust gases from diesel vehicles. Therefore, one of the enhancements of the DPF efficiency is to reduce the pressure drop in the DPF, thereby increasing the efficiency of the filter and regeneration. In this study, the effect of cell density, channel shape, wall thickness, and inlet channel ratio of 5.66" SiC and Cordierite DPF on the pressure drop in DPF was investigated using ANSYS FLUENT simulator. As a result of the experiment, the pressure drop was smaller at 300 CPSI than 200 CPSI, and the anisotropy and O / S cell showed less than Isotropy by pressure drop of about 1,000 Pa. As the porosity increased by 10% the pressure drop was reduced by about 300 Pa and as the wall thickness increased by 0.05 mm, the pressure drop was increased by about 500 Pa.

Chronic Non-Bacterial Prostatitis Treated with Additional Immune Pharmacopuncture: A Case Report (면역약침을 병행한 만성 전립선염/만성 골반통 증후군 환자 치험 1례)

  • Objectives The purpose of this study is to report the clinical effects of immuno pharmacopuncture and herbal medicine Simmidojeok-san on chronic non-bacterial prostatitis. Methods The patient was treated with Simmidojeok-san ; 0.2 cc of V pharmacopuncture injection was given into Jeonyang and 0.6 cc of V pharmacopuncture injection was administered into Hoeeum (CV1). National Institutes of Health Chronic Prostatitis Symptom Index (NIH-CPSI) and Numerous Rating Scale (NRS) were used to assess treatment effect. Results NIH-CPSI and NRS decreased after treatment. Conclusions The herbal medicine Simmidojeok-san and V pharmacopuncture therapy are effective in treating chronic non-bacterial prostatitis.
