Semiconductor CdTe-Doped CdO Thin Films: Impact of Hydrogenation on the Optoelectronic Properties

  • Doping or incorporation with exotic elements are two manners to regulate the optoelectronic properties of transparent conducting (TCO) cadmium oxide (CdO). Nevertheless, the method of doping host CdO by CdTe semiconductor is of high importance. The structural, optical, and electrical properties of CdTe-doped CdO films are studied for the sake of promoting their conducting parameters (CPs), including their conductivity, carrier concentration, and carrier mobility, along with transparency in the NIR spectral region; these are then compared with the influence of doping the host CdO by pure Te ions. X-ray fluorescence (XRF), X-ray diffraction (XRD), optical absorption spectroscopy, and electrical measurements are used to characterise the deposited films prepared by thermal evaporation. Numerous results are presented and discussed in this work; among these results, the optical properties are studied through a merging of concurrent BGN (redshift) and BGW (blue shift) effects as a consequence of doping processes. The impact of hydrogenation on the characterisations of the prepared films is investigated; it has no qualitative effect on the crystalline structure. However, it is found that TCO-CPs are improved by the process of CdTe doping followed by hydrogenation. The utmost TCO-CP improvements are found with host CdO film including ~ 1 %Te, in which the resistivity decreases by ~ 750 %, carrier concentration increases by 355 %, and mobility increases by ~ 90 % due to the increase of Ncarr. The improvement of TCO-CPs by hydrogenation is attributed to the creation of O-vacancies because of H2 molecule dissociation in the presence of Te ions. These results reflect the potential of using semiconductor CdTe -doped CdO thin films in TCO applications. Nevertheless, improvements of the host CdO CPs with CdTe dopant are of a lesser degree compared with the case of doping the host CdO with pure Te ions.

Taxonomic Identity of Echinochloa crus-galli (L.) Beauv. var. crus-galli in Dokdo (독도 돌피의 분류학적 실체)

  • Molecular study were conducted to evaluate taxonomic identities of Echinochloa crus-galli (L.) Beauv. and Echinochloa crus-galli var. echinata (Willd.) Honda in Dokdo. Echinochloa crus-galli complex of two species 26 individuals analyse based on nuclear ribosomal DNA (ITS region) and cpDNA (trnH-psbA, trnL-F). At a result, two species were same sequence. Characters the length of the lemma and the length of the awn traits were identity of the species was unclear. According to, Taxonomy treatments that is based on existent morphological characters should thinks again. On the other hand, in the case of ITS, Echinochloa crus-galli (L.) Beauv. and Echinochloa crus-galli var. echinata (Willd.) Honda at the Dokdo forms from other clades with individuals that is collected at land area and Ulleungdo. These result is showing that is flowing independent evolution trends.

Comparison of authorized feed analysis laboratories in Korea: looking at feed chemical analysis

  • In Korea, chemical analysis of animal feed is done through authorized feed analysis laboratories (AFALs). Analysis results among the AFALs need to be similar or within acceptable variations; however, there is no experimental evidence of their comparability. We aimed to determine the level of variation of feed chemical analysis results from different AFALs. For this, we requested analysis of four kinds of feed (corn, soybean meal, corn gluten feed, and ryegrass) to eight AFALs and the Cumberland Valley Analytical Services (CVAS) which is an internationally well-recognized feed analysis laboratory. The AFALs spent more time on analysis than did CVAS. Fiber analysis results varied significantly among laboratories. However, moisture, CP, and ash content values showed almost no variation. At least one AFAL obtained results with significant differences from CVAS for all tested values. These differences can be explained by the followings: 1) the standard methods for feed analysis (SMFA) established for AFALs are not detailed enough to control the analytical variations among different laboratories and 2) guidelines are insufficient for the quality control of analysis results in Korea. Failure to accurately identify the nutritional components of the feed could mean failure to provide adequate nutrients to the animals. Therefore, efforts to reduce the differences among AFALs, such as revising SMFA and publishing guidelines on quality control of feed analysis results, are important.

Study on the Nutritional Value of Native Orienyal White Oak (Quercos aliena Blume ) Browse by Korean native Goats (한국산 갈참나무 수엽의 영양가치 구명에 관한 연구)

  • This study was conducted to determine the nutritional value of native oriental white oak(Quercus aliena Blume) browse by Korean native goats. Oak browse were mixed with grass hay(orchardgrass 60% and red clover 40%), varing in oak browse content. Diets included 30% oak browse and 70% grass hay, 60% oak browse and 40 % grass hay, and a 100% grass hay(contro1). Oak browse diets were higher in NDF, ADF, lignin, and tannin contents, but lower in CP content than the control diet with increased oak browse levels. Gross energy levels showed no difference between the control and oak browse diets. Dry matter intake was the lowest on diet containing oak browse 60%. Digestibility for DM, cellular constituents, NDF, and ADF showed lower for oak browse diets compared to control diet(P<0.05). Oak browse diets furnished significantly lower dietary N than &d the control diet. Fecal N losses generally increased with higher levels of oak browse levels(P<0.05). Apparently digested N and retained N were lower in oak browse diets than in control diet. The higher retained N was obtained in control diet than in oak browse diets.   • The marine accident is being highlighted as a serious worldwide problem for the guard station of human safety and the protection of marine environment pollution. Especially, the GMDSS is operated as a international rule for the safety of a large scale ship, but the small size ship's management is required a adaptive national rule because of the complex condition of national circumstance. This study is motivated to develop a ship's position tracking system combined with GPS information for VTS and control the ship navigation, velocity and longitude etc.. In Part of Navigation Data Transmission is GPS data transmission whih ship's ID using microprocessor and TX speed translation for flexibility with 4800∼2400 [bps]. Results show that the our system for data transmission using microprocessor is useful tool in maritime transmission as SSB used the main TX method of small ship and has a cost competitive power. Therefore, we will expected cost and technical competitive power compared to AIS. But those systems are still remained the unsolved problem for protection from marine accident.. Finally, we examined the semi-actual receiving state on simulated sailing in the around sea of Mok-Po harbor.

  • According as marine leisure industry has developed and the demand of leisure culture has increased rapidly, a desire about service which supply marine safety and connect marine information is enlarging. We wish to develop contents of download form that supply geographic information of Electronic Navigational Chart(ENC) in the marine that is digitalized to carrying along terminal of WIPI base and various informations for marine leisure. For this, DB that offer ENC and additional information should be constructed. Also, we need server(CPS; Contents provider Server) that offer required contents. In this paper, we design web retrieval component which store request information to database. When consumer required necessary information through personal mobile device, CPS can inform that. So, we wish to develop web retrieval agent component that parse informations in various World Wide Webs, and store to database.

Simplified Noise Modeling of GPS Measurements for a Fast and Reliable Cycle Ambiguity Resolution

  • The relationship between the observable noise model and the satellite elevation angle can be modeled quite well by an exponential function.[Jin, 1996] Noise size and dependence on the elevation angle are, however, different for each observation and receiver type. Therefore, the coefficient determination of this model is an issue, and various methods including PR-CP, single difference, and time difference have been suggested. The limitations of them are difficulty to model the carrier phase noise and to eliminate bias. To overcome these disadvantages for using Jin's model, we suggest zero baseline double difference (DD) and noise sorting algorithm. Data DD technique in zero baseline is useful to eliminate all the troublesome GPS biases, and the remaining error is the sum of GPS measurement noises from two satellites. These DD residuals for hours should be sorted by the combination of satellite elevation angles, and then variance value of the residual for each combination can be estimated. Using these values, we construct an over-determined linear equation whose solution is a set of noise variance for each satellite elevation angle. With 24hr Trimble 4000ssi data, we easily worked out the coefficients of the noise model not only for pseudorange but also for carrier phase. We estimated the standard deviation of the measurement DD using our model, and plotted 1 and 3 sigma lines for every epoch to verify the representation of the residual error. 63.3% of pseudorange residual and 65.9% of phase error did not exceed the 1 sigma lines. Additionally, 99.2% and 99.5% of them lied within 3sigma line. These figures prove that the Gaussian property of measurement noise, and that the suggested model by our algorithm corresponds to the observable noise information.

  • Acidocin 4A produced by Lactobacillus acidophilus GP4A was purified to homogeneity by ammonium sulfate precipitation and sequential chromatographies containing Octyl sepharose CL-4B column, $C_{18}$ Sep-Pak Cartridge, $C_{18}$ RP HPLC and HPLC gel filtration. Tricine SDS-PACE resulted in a single band with estimated molecular mass of 4.1 kDa corresponding to the polypeptide weight marker. Electron microscopy of acidocin-treated indicator cells(L. delbrueckii subsp. lactis ATCC 4797) confirmed that acidocin 4A presented bacteriolytic effect, resulting in cell lysis. Curing trial using ethidium bromide (EtBr) was carried out to examine whether acidocin 4A determinant was encoded either by chromosome or on plasmid. The plasmid designated as pLA4A, being about 20 kb in size, was responsible for acidocin 4A production and immunity to host cells.

Securing Inflows to Reservoir with Low Ratio of Watershed to Paddy Field Areas by Operating Outside Diversion Weir (유역외 보의 연계운영에 의한 유역배율이 작은 저수지의 유입량 확보 가능성)

  • This study was performed to ascertain the possibility of securing inflows to reservoir with low ratio of watershed to paddy field areas by outside diversion weir. The case of Maengdong reservoir and Samryong diversion weir was selected. Most of inflows to Maengdong reservoir with watershed area of $7.06\;km^2$ and total storage capacity of $1,269{\times}10^4\;m^3$ are filled with intake water from outside Samryong diversion weir. Only using water storage data in Maengdong reservoir from 1991 to 2009, the range of water intake in Samryong diversion weir to Maengdong reservoir was optimized to 0.135~30 mm/d, from which water intake to Maengdong reservoir was $1,672.9{\times}10^4\;m^3$ (70.1 %) and downstream outflow to Weonnam reservoir was $714.4{\times}10^4\;m^3$ (29.9 %). The parameters of DAWAST model for reservoir inflow were determined to UMAX of 313.8 mm, LMAX 20.3 mm, FC 136.8 mm, CP 0.018, and CE 0.007. Inflows to Maengdong reservoir were $427.1{\times}10^4\;m^3$ (20.3 %) from inside watershed, and $1,672.9{\times}10^4\;m^3$ (79.7 %) from outside. Paddy irrigation water requirements were estimated to $1,549{\times}10^4\;m^3$ on annual average. Operation rule curve was drawn by using daily inflow and irrigation requirement data. By securing the amount of inflow to Maengdong reservoir to about 80 % from outside Samryong diversion weir, water supply capacity for irrigation of $1,549{\times}10^4\;m^3/yr$ was analyzed to be enough. Additional water supplies for instream flow were analyzed to $1,412\;m^3/d$ in normal reservoir operation, $36,000\;m^3/d$ in withdrawal limit operation by operation rule curve from October to March of non irrigation period.

  • In this paper, we investigated impurities content and thermal properties showing by changing the content of carbon black which is semiconductive materials for underground power transmission. Specimens were made of sheet form with the three of existing resins and the nine of specimens for measurement. Impurities content of specimens was measured by ICP-AES(Inductively Coupled Plasma Atomic Emission Spectrometer), and density of specimens were measured by density meter. And then heat capacity(${\Delta}H$) and melting temperature(Tm), specific heat(Cp) were measured by DSC(Differential Scanning Calorimetry). The dimension of measurement temperature was $0[^{\circ}C]\;to\;200[^{\circ}C]$, and rising temperature was $4[^{\circ}C/min]$. Impurities content was highly measured according to increasing the content of carbon black from this experimental result also density was increased according to these properties. Specially, impurities content values of the A1 and A2 of existing resins were measured more than 4000[ppm]. Heat capacity, melting temperature, and specific heat from the DSC results were simultaneously decreased according to increasing the content of carbon black. Because metallic impurities of carbon black having Fe, Co, Mn, A1 and Zn are rapidly passed kinetic energy increasing the number of times breaking during the unit time with the near particles according to increasing vibration of particles by the applied heat energy.
