  • In today's rapidly changing business environment, quality of responsiveness to customer requirements for short order cycles and on time delivery is becoming more important and considered as one of critical success factors in supply chain management. Yet despite its importance on reducing transportation cost and improving customer service, little attention has been given to the transportation planning system in Korea SI industry. In this paper, we present development of transportation planning system especially to deal with vehicle routing problem which has the goal to minimize the costs of daily transportation operation and to maximize customer delivery service. The system architecture with other enterprise application is presented and real-world constraints are well incorporated into the system by combining constraints programming and meta heuristics.

  • Radiation therapy is highly effective for the management of pediatric malignant central nervous system (CNS) tumors including embryonal tumors. With the increment of long-term survivors from malignant CNS tumors, the radiation-related toxicities have become a major concern and we need to improve the treatment strategies to reduce the late complications without compromising the treatment outcomes. One of such strategies is to reduce the radiation dose to craniospinal axis or radiation volume and to avoid or defer radiation therapy until after the age of three. Another strategy is using particle beam therapy such as proton beams instead of photon beams. Proton beams have distinct physiologic advantages over photon beams and greater precision in radiation delivery to the tumor while preserving the surrounding healthy tissues. In this review, I provide the treatment principles of pediatric CNS embryonal tumors and the strategic improvements of radiation therapy to reduce treatment-related late toxicities, and finally introduce the increasing availability of proton beam therapy for pediatric CNS embryonal tumors compared with photon beam therapy.

  • 5-Fluorouracil (5-FU), an anticancer agent was covalently attached to the recently developed sorbitol-based G8 transporter, and the conjugate (7) with FITC was found to have an affinity toward mitochondria and to readily cross BBB to gain an entry into mouse brain. Measured by $IC_{50}$, the conjugate (9) without the fluorophore showed enhanced cytotoxic activity toward two types of multidrug-resistant cell lines. These results strongly suggest that the sorbitol-based G8 transporter can be utilized as a good CNS delivery vector.

  • This article concerns the event management of the transportation and delivery system in the real time environment. Until now mainstream researches in the transportation and delivery area have largely focused how to create optimized vehicle routing schedule fast and stably, although the execution and event management area has a lot of opportunities which could make logistics efficient and especially customers satisfied. This paper suggests to-be model processes how to execute vehicle routing schedule correctly and when events are occurred how to cope with them effectively. To embody such ideas GIS, GPS and Mobile technologies are attached on optimizing scheduler engine, TMS, WMS, ATP and Monitoring system.

  • Apoptotic cell death is a fundamental and highly regulated biological process in which a cell is instructed to actively participate in its own demise. This process of cellular suicide is activated by developmental and environmental cues and normally plays an essential role in eliminating superfluous, damaged, and senescent cells of many tissue types. In recent years, a number of experimental studies have provided evidence of widespread neuronal and glial apoptosis following injury to the central nervous system (CNS). These studies indicate that injury-induced apoptosis can be detected from hours to days following injury and may contribute to neurological dysfunction. Given these findings, understanding the biochemical signaling events controlling apoptosis is a first step towards developing therapeutic agents that target this cell death process. This review will focus on molecular cell death pathways that are responsible for generating the apoptotic phenotype. It will also summarize what is currently known about the apoptotic signals that are activated in the injured CNS, and what potential strategies might be pursued to reduce this cell death process as a means to promote functional recovery.

  • Oxytocin (OT) is a neurohypophyseal nonapeptide which plays an important role in CNS function as well as uterine contraction during delivery. Furthermore, recently it has been reported that OT may also have analgesic effect and found that the release of OT is related with opioid receptors, especially $\kappa$ and ${\mu}$.

  • Gammaherpesvirus (${\gamma}HV$) infection of the central nervous system (CNS) has been implicated in diverse neurological diseases, and murine ${\gamma}HV$-68 (MHV-68) is known to persist in the brain after cerebral infection. The underlying molecular mechanisms of persistency of virus in the brain are poorly understood. Here, we characterized a unique pattern of MHV-68 persistent infection in neuroblastoma cells. On infection with MHV-68, both murine and human neuroblastoma cells expressed viral lytic proteins and produced virions. However, the infected cells survived productive infection and could be cultured for multiple passages without affecting their cellular growth. Latent infection as well as productive replication was established in these prolonged cultures, and lytic replication was further increased by treatment with lytic inducers. Our results provide a novel system to study persistent infection of ${\gamma}HVs$ in vitro following de novo infection and suggest application of MHV-68 as a potential gene transfer vector to the brain.

  • Molecular Nuclear Neuro-Imaging in "CNS" drug discovery and development tan be divided into four categories that are clearly inter-related.(1) Neuroreceptor mapping to examine the involvement of specific neurotransmitter system in CNS diseases, drug occupancy characteristics and perhaps examine mechanisms of action;(2) Structural and spectroscopic imaging to examine morphological changes and their consequences;(3) Metabolic mapping to provide evidence of central activity and "CNS fingerprinting" the neuroanatomy of drug effects;(4) Functional mapping to examing disease-drug interactions. In addition, targeted delivery of therapeutic agents could be achieved by modifying stem cells to release specific drugs at the site of transplantation('stem cell pharmacology'). Future exploitation of stem cell biology, including enhanced release of therapeutic factors through genetic stem cell engineering, might thus constitute promising pharmaceutical approaches to treating diseases of the nervous system. With continued improvements in instrumentation, identification of better imaging probes by innovative chemistry, molecular nuclear neuro-imaging promise to play increasingly important roles in disease diagnosis and therapy.
