  • The feeding habits of Largehead hairtail Trichiurus japonicus was studied using 377 specimens collected in the Yellow Sea of Korea. The specimens ranged from 4.5 to 33.7 cm in Anal length (AL). T. japonicus consumed mainly a piscivore, such as Engraulis japonicus [percent index of relative importance (%IRI) =74.1%]. We calculated the trophic level as 3.84 for T. japonicus. Fishes were the main prey items for all seasons. The main fish prey during autumn and winter was E. japonicus, whereas those during spring and summer was Larimichthys polyactis. Fishes were the main prey items for all size groups (<15 cm, 15~20 cm, 20~25 cm, ≥25 cm). T. japonicus also showed size-related dietary shift from Spratelloides gracilis and E. japonicus to L. polyactis and T. japonicus. As the anal length of T. japonicus increased, the mean number of preys per stomach (mN/ST) and the mean weight of preys per stomach (mW/ST) tended to increased (One-way ANOVA, P<0.05). Seasonal and size-related shifts in dietary composition were investigated by PERMANOVA analysis, which showed significant variations among size classes and seasons.

  • The feeding habits of Okamejei kenojei were studied using 242 specimens collected from October 2010 to September 2011 in the coastal waters of Gadeok-do, Korea. O. kenojei was carnivorous feeder that consumed mainly shrimps, crabs, and fishes. Its diet also included small quantities of stomatods, cephalopods, amphipods. The size of O. kenojei ranged from 10.4 to 47.4 cm in total length (TL). O. kenojei showed ontogenetic dietary shift. <15.0, 15.0-19.9 cm size classes fed mainly on shrimps and amphipods. 20.0-24.9 cm size class fed mainly shrimps and crabs. Thereafter, shrimps and crabs were decreased with ontogenesis while fishes and cephalopods were increased. Increasing size, the mN/ST were constantly decreased, but mW/ST were constantly increased.

  • This study compared and analyzed the interaction visual effect of skirt silhouettes and skirt length by body mass index. This study provides basic data for women in their 20s and 30s to choose suitable skirts for their image. Twelve skirts were made, consisting of two categories of body mass index, three types of skirt silhouette and two levels of skirt length. Men and women in their 20s and 30s evaluated the visual effects of the experimental skirts using a questionnaire. The interaction effect of the visual effect following the skirt's length and silhouette by body mass index were analyzed by three-way ANOVA. Overall, a shorter the body and lower body length resulted in better vertical effects in normal weight. In terms of horizontal effects, such as lower body thickness and full-body shape, the 40 cm skirt, 50 cm tight, and A-line skirt were generally shown as better images. Skirt length helped supplement body type rather than silhouette in the overweight section. When the length was 40 cm, three skirts showed a more positive image. This study provide results for women in their 20s and 30s to choose skirts that are suitable for their image.

  • This study suggests the proper collar laying amount to be actively used in the clothing industry by identifying the characteristics of collar and other related components according to the collar laying amount. This study comparatively analyzed the characteristics of each collar laying amount (2cm, 2.5cm, 3cm, 3.5cm, 4cm, and 4.5cm) after making 6 tailored jackets. The results are as follows: 1. The best shape of collar and lapel appeared when the collar laying amount was 3cm and 3.5cm. 2. Depending on the collar laying amount, the shape of collar, roll line form of collar and lapel, collar width, collar stand, the position and width of roll line changed. As the collar laying amount increased, the length of collar edge became longer, and the collar stand decreased. In case the collar laying amount was small (2cm, 2.5cm), the width of collar and lapel became narrower. On the contrary, when it is large (4cm, 4.5cm), the width of collar and lapel became wider. 3. Collar laying amount as well as the length of the neck line of collar affected the shape of the collar roll line around the neck.

  • Since CM for Fee has been introduced in domestic market of construction industry, Construction Management(CM) has been familiar with one of the established delivery systems in Korea. However, CM(CM for Fee) construction market has been stagnant consistently due to recent economic recessions. The fundamental causes of the current depression of CM construction market are highly related to the social/environmental factors(such as owner's negative perception about CM services, exclusive formation of the CM markets, unfeasible fee and limitations on technology developments in CM services) and the shortage of institutions associated with CM. Accordingly, fundamental improvements on the CM environment are required. This study suggests the feasible methods for improvement on CM system based on fundamental analysis of problems related to the environmental factors by conducting a delphi technique with professional personnels on various positions in CM markets.

  • Sanitary pads are used with for the sanitization of menstruation bleeding. In this research, twenty medium size disposable sanitary pads were selected from domestic and international brands in order to analyze their shape and size. Additionally, 6 sanitary pads were selected among the 20, and user experience evaluations were completed. The analysis on the shape of the 20 sanitary pads showed that straight-shape pads existed more than curved-shape pads. The means of total pad length, wing length, wing width, front pad width, back pad width, front pad length, and back pad length were 24.5 cm, 8.8 cm, 3.0 cm, 10.0 cm, 10.2 cm, 11.6 cm, and 13.0 cm, respectively. All selected pads were medium size; however, detailed sizes varied between brands. Eighty-one women participated on user experience evaluation. Participants felt that brand F was the longest and brand D the shortest. The results matched with the results on actual pad length measurement. Participants evaluated the fit of brand E most positively and fit of brand A most negatively. The current study provides valuable information for developing disposable sanitary pads.

  • Carbon micropatterns (CMs) were fabricated from a negative-type SU-8 photoresist by proton ion beam lithography and pyrolysis. Well-defined negative-type SU-8 micropatterns were formed by proton ion beam lithography at the optimized fluence of $1{\times}10^{15}ions\;cm^{-2}$ and then pyrolyzed to form CMs. The crosslinked network structures formed by proton irradiation were converted to pseudo-graphitic structures by pyrolysis. The fabricated CMs showed a good electrical conductivity of $1.58{\times}10^2S\;cm^{-1}$ and a very low surface roughness.

  • This study was conducted to investigate the food components of cooking drips from shell oysters steamed under various retort pressures. Among the drips from shell oyster steamed under different retort pressures (1.0, 2.0, 2.5, 3.0, 3.5, 4.0 and 4.5 kg/$cm^2$) the oyster drip obtained at the 4.5 kg/$cm^2$ of retort pressure had the highest degree of brix, yield, crude protein, glycogen and trichloroacetic acid soluble-N contents, while its salinity was the lowest. In the results of food safety test, the presence of E. coli (18 MPN/100 g>) and viable cell (30 CFU/g>) in the oyster drip was in acceptable level as a food-stuff. However, the sensory evaluation such as color, flavor and taste, total amino acid and free amino acid contents of cooking drip from shell oyster steamed at 4.5 kg/$cm^2$ were inferior to those of oyster wash water. Differences in the major amino acids of total amino acid and free amino acid between oyster cooking drip and oyster wash water were also found. The results suggested that the effective use methods of oyster cooking drip should be investigated.
