With the proliferation of WWW, providing more intelligence to Web sites has become a major concern in e-business industry. In recent days, this trend is more accelerated by prosperity of CRM (Customer Relationship Management) in terms of various aspects such as product recommendation, self after service, etc. To accomplish this goal, many e-companies are eager to embed web enabled rule-based system, that is, expert systems into their Web sites and several well-known commercial tools are already available in the market. Most of those tools are developed based on CGI so far but CGI based systems inherently suffer over-burden problem when there are too many service demands at the same time due to the nature of CGI. To overcome this limitation of the existing CGI based expert systems, we propose a new form of Web-enabled expert system using hyperlink-based inference mechanism. In terms of burden to Web server, our approach is proven to outperform CGI based approach theoretically and also empirically. For practical purpose, our this approach is implemented in a software system, WeBIS and a graphic rule editing methodology, Expert Diagram is incorporated into the system to facilitates rule generation and maintenance. WeBIS is now successfully operated for financial consulting in the web site of a leading financial consulting company in Korea.

기존의 노심설계코드는 UNIX 시스템에 구현되어 있기 때문에 설계자가 입력 생성, 코드 실행, 결과 처리/분석 등의 모든 업무를 텍스트 형태로 작업을 수행해야 한다. 이 방법은 문법 오류 및 실행 오류와 같은 인적 오류를 범할 수 있는 문제가 있다. 본 논문에서는 이 문제를 해결하기 위해서 웹 환경에서 노심설계코드를 자동 실행하기 위한 아키텍처를 제안한다. 제안한 아키텍처는 노심설계코드를 직접 처리하는 CGI 프로그램과 WAS를 연동하여 웹에서 모니터링이 가능하다. 즉, CGI 프로그램은 실시간으로 WAS의 명령을 백그라운드로 실행하고, WAS는 CGI 프로그램의 수행 결과를 웹에서 모니터링 한다. 적용사례로써 제안한 방법으로 원자력발전소의 노심설계코드 프로그램을 수행시켜 실효성을 확인한다.

EDAS_P system for electronic circuits design, which is developed at ETRI. There are 3 kinds of graphics tools. In this paper, we presents the improved graphics functions of EDAS_P system using the GSS${\times}$CGI.

본 논문에서 구축한 시스템은 서버에 설치된 통계패키지인 Xlisp-Stat을 이용하여 인터넷 상에서 통계분석과 통계 학습을 겸한 통계학습시스템이다. 이 시스템은 CGI 프로그램에 의하여 Xlisp-Stat과 웹 서버와의 인터페이스 모듈이 구현되었으며, 특히 통계분석 결과가 그래프인 경우에 브라우저에 출력이 가능한 GIF 이미지로 변환하여 실시간으로 학습자에게 전송하도록 설계하였다. 또한 학습 페이지는 기술통계를 중심으로 학습 내용을 구성하였으며, 학습 효과를 높이기 위하여 인지적지연 시간을 최소화하도록 설계하였다.

This paper compares and analyzes mathematics teachers' understanding of students' mathematical comprehension after experiences with the Cognitively Guided Instruction (CGI) or the Development of Mathematical Ideas (DMI) teaching strategies. This report sheds light on current issues confronted by the educational system in the context of mathematics teaching and learning. In particular, the declining rate of mathematical literacy among adolescents is discussed. Moreover, examples of CGI and DMI teaching strategies are presented to focus on the impact of these teaching styles on student-centered instruction, teachers' belief, and students' mathematical achievement, conceptual understanding and word problem solving skills. Hence, with a gradual enhancement of reformed ways of teaching mathematics in schools and the reported increase in student achievement as a result of professional development with new teaching strategies, teacher professional development programs that emphasize teachers' understanding of students' mathematical comprehension is needed rather than the currently dominant traditional pedagogy of direct instruction with a focus on teaching problem solving strategies.

In this paper, different methods of integrating heterogeneous network information systems into the Web are observed by comparing a cliented Java CGI model with a server-oriented CGI model. In addition, a load balanced(LB, for short) CGI model is proposed, which combines two models and decides its course of action depending on the load state of the web server, and compared with the other two models. Performance evaluation models for three models are also presented. The results of computer simulations indicate that the LB CGI model performs consistently well irrespective of system load or server performance.

The heavy duty diesel engine must have a large output for maintaining excellent mobility. The compacted graphite iron (CGI) is a material currently under study for the engine demanded for high torque, durability, stiffness and fatigue. In this study, three dimensional finite element model of a heavy-duty diesel engine was developed to conduct the stress analysis by using property of CGI. The FE model of the heavy duty diesel engine section consisting with four half cylinder was selected. The heavy duty diesel engine section include cylinder block, cylinder head, liner, bearing cap, bearing and bolt. The loading conditions of engine are pre-fit load, assembly force and gas force.

This paper shows the development process for measuring three-dimensional flow velocity components in a web-browser. The system is developed in an embeddable C/C++ interpreter Ch and Ch-CGI toolkit. The interface for the web-based measurement system consists of a set of web HTML files and Ch files for CGI. All of data in web browser are passed to Ch-CGI script to generate the output of new HTML file. PC-Server and PC-Client can submit measurement parameters and receive the text/graphical results each other. PC-Client can control the test equipment by using a parameters that received from PC-Server. It also can pass the test results between the web-based measurement system. In summary, the designed measurement system is evaluated, the outputs shown well on the web browser.

본 논문은 MPI 미들웨어에 기반하여 데이터베이스에 포함되어 웹에 의해 제공되는 정보들을 고속으로 검색할 수 있는 분산 병렬 검색 시스템을 구현한다. 지리적으로 산재한 막대한 양의 정보를 다루어야 히는 생물정보 분야 응용의 요구에 부합하기 위하여, LINUX를 탑재한 3 대의 PC로 구성된 클러스터를 구축하고 CGI 구동 프로그램, 마스터와 슬레이브로 구성된 MPI 프로세스를 구현하였으며 메시지 큐. MPI 프리미티브. HTTP 1.1 프로토콜에 의해 서로 통신한다. 마스터는 CGI의 요청에 따라 슬레이브에게 명령을 내려 동시에 해당 웹 페이지에 대한 검색을 수행하며 이를 통합하여 CGI에게 전달한다. 마스터는 다수의 CGI 요청들을 직렬화할 뿐 아니라 슬레이브들과의 동기화에 의해 최종적인 검색 결과를 수행한다. 본 논문에서 구현된 클러스터는 특정 어댑터의 추가 구현에 의해 새로운 데이터베이스에 대한 검색 기능을 추가할 수 있으며 동일한 운영체제와 미들웨어를 갖는 노드를 추가함으로써 협력 검색에 있어서 보다 많은 컴퓨터를 참여시킬 수 있다.
