Properties of CdS:In Thin Films according to Substrate Temperature

  • Cubic CdS thin film with the strongest XRD peak (111) at diffraction angle $(\theta)$ of 26.5 was well made at substrate temperature of $150^{\circ}C$. At that time, lattice constant a of the thin film was $5.79{\AA}$, grain size of that was more over ${\mu}m$ and it's resistivity was over $10^3{\Omega}cm$. And the peak of diffraction intensityat miller index (111) of CdS:In thin film with dopant In of 1 atom% was shown higher about 20 % than undoped CdS thin film. Also, CdS:In thin film had in part hexagonal structure among cubic structure as secondary phase. Lattice constant of a and grain size of secondary phase of the film with dopant In of 1 atom% was $5.81{\AA}$ and around $1{\mu}m$ respectively The lowest resistivity of $5.1{\times}10^{-3}{\Omega}cm$ was appeared on dopant In of 1.5 atom%. Optical band gap of undoped CdS thin film was 2.43 eV and CdS:In thin film with dopant In of 0.5 atom% had the largest band gap 2.49 eV.

  • CdSe hollow sphere with average size of about 30-50 nm was synthesized from the mixed solution of cadmium chloride $(CdCl_2)$, sodium selenosulfate $(Na_2SeSO_3)$ and ethylenediamine(EDA, $H_2NCH_2CH_2NH_2$) at room temperature. The molar ratio of EDA to $Cd^{2+}$ showed the most significant effect on the morphology of CdSe hollow sphere. This paper will present and discuss the possible formation mechanism of CdSe hollow sphere based on the observation of morphological changes.

EFFECT OF ANNEALING ON THE OPTICAL PROPERTY OF RF-SPUTTERED CdTe THIN FILM

  • The optical property of CdTe thin film is important for applications such as the compound semiconductor type solar cells. CdTe films are prepared by RF sputtering at various substrate temperature between $25^{\circ}C$ and $300^{\circ}C$, then, annealed in argon gas environment at $400^{\circ}C$. The annealing process of the thin film caused variation in the film structure and the composition of films. The deformation of CdTe thin film was observed by X-ray diffractometry. After annealing, the grain size increased and the portion of the non-crystalline CdTe reduced. Futhermore, the structure of sputtered CdTe film grown at the substrate temperature more than $250^{\circ}C$ was enhanced in the (111) direction of zincblend structure. There was a discrepancy, in the spectroscopic ellipsometer spectrum, between the single crystal CdTe and the sputtered CdTe thin films, especially in the region over 3.2eV. An oxidation layer was found on the CdTe thin film by spectroscopic ellipsometry analysis.

  • The photoelectronic properties of CdTe films sintered with various amounts of $CdCl_2$ and $CuCl_2$ have been investigated by measurements of dark electrical resistivity, photocurrent, thermoelectric power, optical transmission and by observation of microstructure. The grain size and optical transmission of sintered CdTe films increase with increasing amount of $CdCl_2$ indicating that $CdCl_2$ acts as a sintering aid. The photoconductivity gain(A-$cm^2/W$) increases and resistivity($\Omega$-cm) decreases with increasing amount of $CuCl_2$ up to 100ppm due to the occurance of Cu-doping during sintering. The dark resistivity could be reduced farther by post heat treatments. The dark resistivity was still high($10^3{\Omega}$-cm) so that the accurate determination of the hole concentration by Hall measurement or by thermoelectric power measurement was not possible. From the analysis of electrical activation energy, however it can be concluded that the hole concentration is less than $10^{14}/cm^3$ and all grains are depleted of carrier by the trapping centers at grain boundaries.

Synthesis of CdS Nanocrystals with Different Shapes via a Colloidal Method

  • Size- and shape-controlled monodisperse wurtzite structured CdS nanorods have been successfully synthesized using a facile solution-based colloidal method. Depending on the control of injection/growth temperatures and the variation of Cd-to-S molar ratios, the morphology of the CdS nanocrystals (NCs) can be adjusted into bullet-like, rod-like, and dot-like shapes. X-ray diffraction (XRD), transition electron microscopy (TEM), and absorption spectroscopy were used to characterize the structure, morphology, and optical properties of as-synthesized CdS NCs. It was found that uniform CdS nanorods could be successfully synthesized when the injection and growth temperatures were very high (> $360^{\circ}C$). The aspect ratios of different shaped (bullet-like or rod-like) CdS NCs could be controlled by simply adjusting the molar ratios between Cd and S.

고밀도 산소 플라즈마 처리된 폴리머 기판에 성장시킨 CdS 박막의 특성 분석 (Structural Properties of chemically deposited CdS Films on plasma treated PET)

  • CdS is II-VI semiconductor with a wide band gap of approximately 2.42 eV. CdS is the most popularly employed heterojunction partner to p-CdTe due to its similar chemical properties. In this work, to improvement of the surface properties of the CdS films, PET substrate is treated by high density $O_2$ plasma. CdS films are prepared by chemical bath deposition(CBD) method. In case of the PET substrate with plasma treatment for 2min, the crystalline orientation of CdS films exhibits a strong hexagonal(002). Grain size was increased from 300nm without $O_2$ plasma treatment to 380nm with an $O_2$ plasma treatment.

두롤 교정기의 롤 갭 변화에 따른 봉강의 잔류응력과 소성변형에 관한 연구 (A Study of Residual Stress and Plastic Deformation of a Bar with Gap Size Changes Between Rolls in a Two Cross-Roll Straightener)

  • 마봉강(CD bar)은 표면조도, 치수 정밀도 그리고 진직도 등에서 우수한 특성을 가진다. 그러한 특성들로 인해 자동차 및 가전 제품의 부품으로 산업현장에서 다양하게 사용되고 있다. 산업계에서 다양하게 사용되는 마봉강 제품은 두롤 교정기를 통해 만들어지고 있으며 본 논문에서는 마봉강을 생산하는 핵심공정인 두롤 교정기 연구를 통해 롤 갭에 따른 영향을 살펴 보았다. 두롤 사이의 간격인 롤 갭의 변화는 봉강의 잔류응력과 소성변형에 많은 영향을 주는 것을 실험적으로 확인하였다. 이를 확인하기 위해 2 롤 교정 전 공정인 인발공정에서 다이 통과 후 선경 변화와 봉강 내 잔류응력분포에 대해 유한요소 시뮬레이션을 수행하였다. 두롤 교정후 잔류응력과 선경의 변화를 확인하기 위해 실험을 수행하였으며, 여기서 X 선 회절기를 이용하여 축방향 및 원주방향에서의 표면 잔류응력을 실험적으로 측정하였다.

Synthesis and Characterization of the CdS Plateles Particles in Octylamine-water System

  • The anisotropic CdS platelets were synthesized in the lamellar bilayer phase region of the octylamine-water binary system. The influence of the synthesis conditions of the system components on morphology and size of the platelets was examined. Atomic force microscopy (AFM) and high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM) studies have shown thickness and face size of the synthesized particles. Platelets with face sizes ranging from 50 to 250 nm and thickness from 10 to 30 nm have been synthesized at room temperature. In addition, HRTEM micrographs show that the synthesized platelets are poly crystal.

  • Immobilization behavior of methyl tert-butyl ether (MTBE) by various cyclodextrins(CDs) was studied to investigate the feasibility of MTBE removal using cyclodexrins. Even though MTBE has relatively low hydrophobicity and higher polarity compared to other organics, it was effectively immobilized by CDs. The immobilization isotherms was shown as a type of Freundlich isotherms, and the immobilization capacity of -CDs was the largest among natural COs. The initial apparent association constant for MTBE-CD complex follows the order : gamma = beta > methyl-beta > hydroxypropyl beta > alpha. These differences of the constants are related to the size of MTBE and CDs. The size of beta-CD and gamma-CD is large to encapsulate MTBE molecule into the cavity, which that of alpha-CB is too small to encapsulate MTBE.

황백약침이 콜라겐 유도 관절염 생쥐에 미치는 영향 (A Study on the Effect of Herbal-acupuncture with Phellodendri Cortex Solution on Collagen-induced Arthritis in DBA/1J Mice)

  • Objectives & Methods : The purpose of this study is to observe the effects of Phellodendri Cortex Herbal-acupuncture solution (PC-HAS) at Joksamni (ST36) on collagen II induced arthritis in DBA-1J mice. The author performed several experimental items to analyze arthritis evaluation, change of weight, spleen size and adhesion rate, change of cytokine level, IgG, IgM and anti-collagen II, chang of immunocyte count, histological change of CIA mouse joint. Results : 1. In the PC-HA group, arthritis index, the incidence of arthritis and joint edema were significantly decreased. 2. In the PC-HA group, the change of spleen size, spleen adhesion rate and the knee joint were significantly decreased. 3. The levels of $IL-1{\beta}$, IL-6 and INF- in serum of the CIA mouse were significantly decreased by PC-HA. 4. The levels of IgG, IgM and anti-collagen II in serum of the CIA mouse were significantly decreased by PC-HA. 5. In the CIA mouse spleen cell culture, the levels of IFN- , IFN- / IL-4, IL-10 were significantly decreased by PC-HA, but the level of IL-4 was significantly increased by PC-HA. 6. In the PC-HA group, the ratios of $CD3e^+$ to $CD45R^+$ cell, $CD4^+$ to $CD8^+$ cell and $CD4^+/CD25^+$ cell were similarly maintained as normal group in the CIA mouse spleen cell. 7. In the PC-HA group, $CD4^+CD25^+$ and $CD45R^+/CD69^+$ cell were significantly decreased in the lymph nodes. 8. In the PC-HA group, $CD3^+/CD69^+$ and $CD11b^+/Gr-1^+$ cell were significantly decreased in knee joint. 9. In histology, the cartilage destruction and synovial cell proliferation in the PC-HA group were similar with that of the normal group and the collagen fiber expressions in the PC-HA group were similar with that of the normal group. Conclusions : Form the result above, the results suggest that the PC-HA at ST36 has significant effect on collagen-induced arthritis, and can be put to practical use in the future rheumatoid arthritis clinic.
