Inorganic analytical laboratory of Korea Research Institute of Standards and Science participated in an interlaboratory comparison program operated by Quebec Toxicology Centre of Canada in 1994 and again in 1995. The objective of this program is to enable participating laboratories to assess reproducibility and accuracy of their analytical results for trace toxic elements in human biological fluids. This laboratory determined Cd and Pb concentrations in 3 levels of human blood samples by isotope dilution inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry. 0.5mL of blood sample is added to the digestion bomb together with 2mL of nitric acid and enriched spike isotopes and then decomposed in the microwave digestion system. The decomposed sample is diluted to 10mL and nebulized into ICP-MS. The Cd and Pb values reported by all participating laboratories are presented and compared. The values reported by this laboratory are within the acceptable range of target values.

This study was to developed to create a CD-ROM and an educational program for the prevention of sexual harassment and violence and to contribute to the perception and add to the coping of the victims of sexual harassment and violence as well as the child, parents, and teachers. Method: The study's methods were literature reviews, surveys, and assessments of the negotiation process for educational needs of sexual harassed and abused children. Result: The sexual harassment and violence prevention program will contain four subjects : 1) sexual development of a preschool child, 2) characteristics of sexual harassment and violence of a preschool child, 3) safe sex, early detection of sexual violence syndrome, and coping strategies. The CD-RON was composed from three sites. The first was a child site, the second was a parent/teacher site, and the third was a game site for evaluations. The child site consisted of 10 possible scenarios of sexual harassment and violence that a child could experience. The parent/teacher site consisted of knowledge and information for prevention and coping strategies for sexual harassment and violence. At the end of each situation question and answer sections that were used for formative evaluation. Also, the game site could be a summative evaluation. Conclusion: The effects of this program and the CD-ROM were based of the promotion of reverence for humanity and gender equality for preschool childen. Eventually, children, parents, and teachers will have prevention and coping ability that will reduce the occurrence of sexual harassment and violence in Korea

This study is discussed research on management of items in PC's GUI(Graphical User Interface) environment. A items are general knowledge data like books, musical CD, English CD, and game CD, which are the time when we don't seek the right items in the case of re-reading and re-listening the items. In this paper, We propose an example designed to be used in the management of a items. The proposed example is implemented by educational VC＋＋(Visual C＋＋) programming language. This program and discussions for management of a items will understand the development procedure of searching and storing data, which will provide some basics into designing large database systems.

본 연구에서는 2000년대 중반 이후의 가요 CD 커버의 장르별 색채 특성에 대하여 분석하였다. 댄스, 락, 랩&힙합, 발라드의 4가지 장르로 구분하였고 KSCA (Korea Standard Color Analysis) 프로그램을 사용하여 각 이미지에서 5%이상 쓰인 주조색을 $L^*A^*B$, RGB, CMYK, 그리고 NCS 값으로 추출하여 색상 계열별로 사용 빈도를 정리하였다.

There are many embedded systems which store and play multimedia streams on optical media such as recordable cd and dvd. Some of those are PVRs, DVRs, and camcorders. In this paper we describe the design and implementation of a new, well structured, fully documented, operating system independent and open source optical media API which can be used in various applications and embedded systems. We also design an ISO-9660 compliant optical media layout, an API set and the scenario for real-time recording. To prove the usability, we develop a text application to replace well-known CD-burning software, cdrecord, and a graphic burning application. All the implementations are firstly done on Linux PC environment, and then ported to a commercial embedded system which uses pSOS as an operating system.

Purpose: This study analyzed the effects of a CD- ROM educational program for the prevention of sexual violence in relation to the sexual knowledge of middle school students. Method: A one group, pre-test-post-test design was used. The subjects of this study were 171 middle school students in Kangwon Province, Korea. The questionnaire included 34 items relating to overall sexual knowledge, and included questions on sexual violence. The collected data were analyzed using the mean, standard deviation and paired- t tests. Result: There were significant differences in the sexual knowledge by demographic characteristics between the pre- and post- tests. Of the 34 items, 20 showed significant differences in the sexual knowledge between the pre- and post- tests. Conclus ion: The overall level of sexual knowledge of the students increased after taking the CD- ROM educational program. Further testing will be required to determine the effects of the CD- ROM using a control group and random sampling.

본 논문에서는 실용음악 전공자의 시창청음 교육을 위한 프로그램 방향을 제시하였다. 실용음악 전공학생들을 대상으로 한 설문을 통한 내부 환경 및 기존 교재에 관한 분석을 바탕으로 통합교과적 학습을 지향하는 시창청음 프로그램 개발 방향을 제시하였다. 시창과 청음 수업의 연계가 가능한 워크북 개념의 통합 교재로 문제의 방향을 설정하였으며 다양한 악곡의 활용을 통한 동기 유발과 학습 효과의 증대를 지향하였다. 교과 내용의 단순성을 지양하고 섹션별 학습을 추구하며 문제지와 답지를 교재 내에 포함시킬 것과 청음 워크북의 정답 부분을 음원 녹음한 오디오 CD를 제작하여 반복적 자기주도 학습이 가능하도록 하는 것이 주요 개발 방향이다.

The statistical model was introduced to satisfy various experimental condition on the sorption of heavy metals (Pb, Cu, Cd, and Zn) by bentonite. The Box-Behnken model designed statistically was applied to determine relative impact among three variables such as pH, HCO$_3$ contents and heavy metal concentrations on the sorption. The SAS program was used to obtain the statistical solution. The statistical surface response analysis indicates that initial concentration of heavy metals and pH have an important effect on the sorption, and bicarbonate is not a serious variable. The sorption capability about heavy metals of bentonite is in the order of Pb>Cu>Zn>Cd. The precipitation as hydroxyl and carbonate complexes of heavy metals was thermodynamically analyzed as major mechanism of sorption under alkaline pHs and high bicarbonate solution. It was found that there is a little difference between the model prediction on the precipitation of heavy metals and the results of batch sorption experiment. The thermodynamic data of the programs have to revise to obtain the best fit condition between the model prediction and the experimental results.

The AERMET, the AERMOD meteorological preprocessing program, mainly used for environmental impact assessment and Integrated Environmental Permit System (IEPS) in Korea, has not considered the land covers characterasitics, and used only the past meteorological data format CD-144. In this study, two results of AERMET application considering CD-144 format and ISHD format, being used internationally, were compared. Also, the atmospheric dispersion characteristics were analyzed with consideration of land cover. In the case of considered the CD-144 format, the actual wind speed was not taken into account in the weak wind (0.6~0.9m/s) and other wind speed due to the unit conversion problem. The predicted concentration considering land cover data was up to 387% larger depending on the topographic and emission conditions than without consideration of land cover. In conclusion, when using meteorological preprocessing program in AERMOD modelling, AERMET, with ISHD format, land cover characterasitics in the area should be considered.
