  • Arrest effect of CCTV for crime prevention is very important. CCTV for crime prevention is evaluated as the tools that act efficiently in terms of criminal arrest because CCTV is used later as evidence acting as the eyes of the distance in deserted place. Necessity of CCTV is increasing gradually because of the advantages that obtaining evidence and criminal found arrest is easy. But quality of CCTV is bad and Night Recording is poor. So it is necessary to improve quality of CCTV and Night Recording should be possible for using as crime clues and evidence. In addition, through integrated building control systems of CCTV for crime prevention and extension of retention period it is possible to easily obtain a evidence.

  • CCTV image processing techniques have been developed for safety management in manufacturing sites. However, CCTV growth has become a social problem for video surveillance with regard to privacy. This study aims to manage the safety system efficiently and protect privacy simultaneously. In this study, the CCTV monitoring system is composed of five steps (accident monitoring, detection, notification, management, restoration). De-identified image is observed when we are in a normal situation. De-identified image changes to identified image when it detects an accident. As soon as it detects an accident, the accident information is sent to the safety administrator. Then the administrator could conduct safety measures. Afterward, accumulated accident data could be used for statistical data that could be utilized as analyzing expecting accident.

  • This paper relates to the development of CCTV camera posture calibration algorithm that can simultaneously collect traffic information such as traffic volume and speed in the state of view of the CCTV camera set for traffic monitoring. The developed autonomous posture calibration algorithm uses vehicle recognition and tracking techniques to identify the road, and automatically determines the angle of view for the operator's traffic surveillance and traffic information collection. To verify the performance of the proposed algorithm, a CCTV installed on site was used, and the results of the angle of view automatically calculated by the autonomous posture calibration algorithm for the angle of view set for traffic surveillance and traffic information collection were compared.

  • Due to the development and market expansion of image analysis and recognition technology, video security such as CCTV cameras and digital storage devices, are required for real-time monitoring systems and intelligent video security systems. This includes the development of more advanced technologies. A rotatable PTZ camera, in a CCTV camera system, has a zoom function so you can acquire a precise picture. However it can cause blind spots, and can not monitor two or more moving objects at the same time. This study concerns, the intelligent tracking of multiple moving objects, CCTV systems, and methods of video surveillance. An intelligent video surveillance system is proposed. It can accurately shoot broad areas and track multiple objects at the same time, much more effectively than using one fixed camera for an entire area or two or more PTZ cameras.

  • There are so many CCTV in our streets, buildings and public places. Nevertheless, security methods for CCTV are rarely. This paper describes a study on developing a media crypto algorithm for anti-hacking into CCTV. H.264 codec is used to compress the video stream in CCTV systems. HIGHT algorithm provided by KISA is adopted as a crypto algorithm in our development. Other crypto methods except HIGHT could be selected by company's security police. Only some bytes in VCL(Video Coding Layer) of H.264 are encrypted to improve the performance of limited platforms, such as CCTV, WebCam, smartphone. Very fast and light crypto algorithm was developed by our researches.

  • Public agencies and local governments have been installing CCTV cameras for the prevention of crime, traffic jam, and unauthorized waste. Additionally, national government agencies and schools, a special corporation by special law, local construction and industrial company installed CCTV cameras of their own and are operating them. Various types of CCTV systems disclosed technical heterogeneity. In February, 2011, Ministry of Public Administration and Security presented guidelines for building an integrated control center. This study examines the case of Busan by using the administrative guidelines. Busan integrated CCTV control center among themselves, police agency and fire department. This study looks into the potential problems with the integration process of CCTV cameras and proposes a solution to them.

  • For the emergency detecting in general CCTV environment of our daily life, the monitoring by only images through CCTV information occurs some problems especially in cost as well as man power. Therefore, in this paper, for detecting emergency state dynamically through CCTV as well as resolving some problems, we propose a detection and recognition method for emergency and non-emergency speech by GMM. The proposed method determine whether input speech is emergency or non-emergency speech by global GMM. If emergeny speech, local GMM is performed to classify the type of emergency speech. The proposed method is tested and verified by emergency and non-emergency speeches in various environmental conditions.

  • As CCTVs are widely utilized in diverse fields, many researchers have continuously studied to improve the surveillance performances of a CCTV system. However, an quantitative evaluation approach about the surveillance performance has rarely been researched. Therefore, we set up the research for suggesting a quantitative evaluation approach to determine the effectiveness of CCTV coverages. We firstly defined the surveillance resolution as that varies according to object's positions and orientations. Based on the definition, we computed surveillance resolution values at all three-dimensional positions with the orientations of interests in the specified space. By comparing these values to the required reasonable resolution, we determined the surveillance performance index indicating how well a CCTV system monitor a target space for specific surveillance objectives. This proposed approach evaluates the surveillance performance of a CCTV system quantitatively, so as examines the CCTV system design before its installation based on precise 3D spatial analysis.

  • Green IT based u-City means that u-City having Green IT concept. If we adopt the situation awareness or not, the processing of Green IT may be reduced. For example, if we recognize a lot of speech sound on CCTV in u-City environment, it takes a lot of processing time and cost. However, if we want recognize emergency sound on CCTV, it takes a few reduced processing cost. So, for detecting emergency state dynamically through CCTV, we propose our advanced speech recognition system. For the purpose of that, we adopt HMM (Hidden Markov Model) for feature extraction. Also, we adopt Wiener filter technique for noise elimination in many information coming from on CCTV in u-City environment.

  • A more accurate understanding of the irrigation water supply is necessary for efficient agricultural water management. Although we measure water levels in an irrigation canal using ultrasonic water level gauges, some errors occur due to malfunctions or the surrounding environment. This study aims to apply CNN (Convolutional Neural Network) Deep-learning-based image classification and segmentation models to the irrigation canal's CCTV (Closed-Circuit Television) images. The CCTV images were acquired from the irrigation canal of the agricultural reservoir in Cheorwon-gun, Gangwon-do. We used the ResNet-50 model for the image classification model and the U-Net model for the image segmentation model. Using the Natural Breaks algorithm, we divided water level data into 2, 4, and 8 groups for image classification models. The classification models of 2, 4, and 8 groups showed the accuracy of 1.000, 0.987, and 0.634, respectively. The image segmentation model showed a Dice score of 0.998 and predicted water levels showed R2 of 0.97 and MAE (Mean Absolute Error) of 0.02 m. The image classification models can be applied to the automatic gate-controller at four divisions of water levels. Also, the image segmentation model results can be applied to the alternative measurement for ultrasonic water gauges. We expect that the results of this study can provide a more scientific and efficient approach for agricultural water management.
