Background: In elderly high-risk surgical patients, sutureless aortic valve replacement (AVR) should be an alternative to standard AVR. The potential advantages of sutureless aortic prostheses include reducing cross-clamping and cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) time and facilitating minimally invasive surgery and complex cardiac interventions, while maintaining satisfactory hemodynamic outcomes and low rates of paravalvular leakage. The current study reports our single-center experience regarding the early outcomes of sutureless aortic valve implantation. Methods: Between October 2012 and June 2015, 65 patients scheduled for surgical valve replacement with symptomatic aortic valve disease and New York Heart Association function of class II or higher were included to this study. Perceval S (Sorin Biomedica Cardio Srl, Sallugia, Italy) and Edwards Intuity (Edwards Lifesciences, Irvine, CA, USA) valves were used. Results: The mean age of the patients was $71.15{\pm}8.60years$. Forty-four patients (67.7%) were female. The average preoperative left ventricular ejection fraction was $56.9{\pm}9.93$. The CPB time was $96.51{\pm}41.27minutes$ and the cross-clamping time was $60.85{\pm}27.08minutes$. The intubation time was $8.95{\pm}4.19hours$, and the intensive care unit and hospital stays were $2.89{\pm}1.42days$ and $7.86{\pm}1.42days$, respectively. The mean quantity of drainage from chest tubes was $407.69{\pm}149.28mL$. The hospital mortality rate was 3.1%. A total of five patients (7.69%) died during follow-up. The mean follow-up time was $687.24{\pm}24.76days$. The one-year survival rate was over 90%. Conclusion: In the last few years, several models of valvular sutureless bioprostheses have been developed. The present study evaluating the single-center early outcomes of sutureless aortic valve implantation presents the results of an innovative surgical technique, finding that it resulted in appropriate hemodynamic conditions with acceptable ischemic time.

This study was carried out to analyze major chemical components of dried Pimpinella brachycarpa leaves. Proximate compositions of the dried Pimpinella brachycarpa were 8.96% moisture content, 28.73% crude protein, 2.66% lipids, 19.14% ash, and 40.50% carbohydrates. Major components of the free sugars and disaccharides were glucose and maltose. A total of 15 kinds of amino acids were isolated from Pimpinella brachycarpa. Essential amino acids accounted for 49.13% of the total amino acids and non-essential amino acids accounted for 50.87%. A major fatty acid was linolenic acid. A ratio of polyunsaturated fatty acids to saturated fatty acids (P/S ratio) was 2.18. Oxalic acid was a major organic acid. The contents of the vitamins A and E were 9.23 mg% and 0.26 mg%, respectively. Among the minerals in the dried Pimpinella brachycarpa, the content of calcium was the highest (765.13 mg%) and those of magnesium and sodium were also comparatively high (303.00 mg%, 96.21 mg%).
This study was conducted to investigate the effects of expanding feed processing technologies on the egg characteristics and nutrient digestibility in laying hens. A total of two hundred seventy laying hens were randomly allocated into three treatments with fifteen replications for six weeks. Dietary treatments include 1) MS(mash), 2) EC(expanded crumble) and 3) EP(expanded pellet). In the egg production, the EC and EP treatments were significantly higher than MS treatment(p<0.05). However, no significant difference was founded in egg weight(p>0.05). Egg shell breaking was increased in EC and EP treatments compared with MS treatment(p<0.05), however, egg shall thickness showed no significant difference(p>0.05). Egg production and egg shell breaking were significantly higher in EC and EP treatments than MS treatment(p<0.05), but egg weight and egg shell thickness were no significantly difference among treatment(p<0.05). Yolk color was increased in EC treatment compared with other treatments(p<0.05). Also, yolk index was significantly improved in EC and EP treatments compared with MS treatment(p<0.05). Haugh unit was increased in EC treatment compared with MS treatment(p<0.05). EC treatment had improved DM, Ca and P digestibility. In conclusion, Expanded crumble and pellet processing could improve the egg characteristic and nutrient digestibility in laying hens.

Temperature has an adverse effect for potential growth and development of Codonopsis lanceolata. The present study examined the responses of growth, yield and mineral element contents under temperature variables in C. lanceolata. Plant height exhibited the best result as being 2 m or higher the open field culture, while the growth is the most restricted in the $30^{\circ}C$. The open field culture also had the largest number of leaves in the early stage of growth. The number of leaves and the height tended to be increased with the temperature of $20^{\circ}C$ and $25^{\circ}C$. The number of branches showed no significance as 32 branches and 26 branches in open field culture and $20^{\circ}C$, respectively. The smallest number of branches was observed in the $30^{\circ}C$ with 15 branches. The leaf color recorded the lowest value in the open field culture unlike the growth above the ground. But all other temperature had no significance with the leaf color value between 50.0 and 52.6. The elevated temperature induced the thinner and shorter diameter and length of root. However, the root diameter was not significantly changed with the change of 1.8 cm and 2.1 cm at open field culture, with $20^{\circ}C$ and $25^{\circ}C$, respectively. The fresh weights of the primary root and lateral roots were 6.3 g and 3.1 g, respectively, at the high temperature. The result showed the thickening of the lowest part under the ground as restricted. The fresh weights of the main root and lateral root were the highest on the open field culture, 20.6 g and 12.2 g, respectively. The contents of cellulose were the highest as 4.41% in the $20^{\circ}C$, followed by the open field culture, $25^{\circ}C$ and $30^{\circ}C$. The higher temperature reduced the contents of cellulose. Moreover, P showed higher ratio in the high temperature while Ca and Mg exhibited the higher ratio towards the low temperature. On the contrary, minor quantity (less than 1%) of mineral nutrients was observed towards all temperature variables.
The aim of this study was to describe the effects of genetic factors on the chemical composition or metabolites of grapes harvested within the same region. Grapes were separated into pulp, skin, and seed, and physicochemical characteristics were compared among seven grape varieties. The sugar concentrations of the grape musts ranged from $15.17-20.93^{\circ}Bx$ with Seibel variety being highest at $20.93^{\circ}Bx$. pH ranges of grape musts were 3.46-4.02 and total acidity was highest with 1.05 in Steuben variety. Tartaric acid content was highest with 146.68, 500.10 mg/L in pulp and skin extract of Merlot variety. Malic acid content was highest in pulp extract of Seibel variety (1127.14 mg/L) and skin extract of Chardonnay variety (1720.06 mg/L). K content was highest with 379.13 and 828.01 mg/L in pulp and skin extract of Chardonnay variety. Ca content was highest in pulp extract of Kyoho variety (6.98 mg/L) and skin extract of Campbell Early variety (12.26 mg/L).

Physicochemical, pasting, and digestion properties of sweet potato starches from 11 Korean cultivars were investigated. Starch granules were variably oval, round, polygonal, spherical, and bell-shaped, and of 10.2-15.3 ${\mu}m$ in mean particle diameter. Amylose contents varied from 12.3 to 17.4%. A similar chain length distribution of amylopectin was found in each of the cultivars. The portion of $B_3$ correlated with the degree of amylose leaching. Thermal properties determined by differential scanning calorimetry showed high values of gelatinization temperatures in Shinyulmi and Jeungmi starches, but a relatively low value in Daeyumi starch. All starches exhibited a Ca-type diffraction pattern. Differing patterns were observed in swelling factors, depending on temperature. The contents of rapidly digestible starch, slowly digestible starch, and resistant starch ranged from 9.6-17.4, 31.4-45.6, and 35.7-62.8%, respectively. In Rapid Visco Analyser profiles, differences were observed in pasting parameters such as pasting temperature, peak viscosity, final viscosity, and breakdown.
In order to develop a type of instant tea cassia tora seed, changes of constiuent amounts before and after roasting $(3{\pm}0.5min\;at\;170{\pm}5^{\circ}C)$ effective extracting solvent and it's optimum concentration, dehydration method and sensory scores were investigated. Moisture, lipid, reducing sugar, emodin and rhein were decreased by roasting, whereas protein, and total sugar of cassia tora increased. Color intensity and extracting efficacy were also increased. Of three kinds of solvent (water, methanol and ethanol), ethanol was highest in redness and yellowness of exeracts, and filtrate yield. Effective extracting concentration of ethanol for cassia tora was 50%(V/V). Freeze dry product(FDP) and spary dry product(SDP) showed coffee and aloe-like smell, coffee like brown color, rapid soluble in cold and hot water, and fast caking in air during storage. Free sugar contents were high in order of raffinose>fructose >glucose>maltose>sucrose Metallic contents were high in order of sodium>calcium>potassium>magnesium>iron. In sensory score for color, taste and aroma, FDP and SDP were both above 8.0 point, however, of them FDP more or less higher than SDP In addion, score in developing value as an instant tea was above 8.0 point (valuable).
Nutritional characteristics and antioxidation effects of Yakju brewed with natural plants(fine tree leaves, bamboo leaves, ginger, cinnamon and licorice root) were tested. With regard to the contents of phenolic compound, Yakju brewed with natural plants was about 1.7 times higher than Yakju which were not brewed with natural plants. In Yakju brewed with natural plants, lactose content was the highest but maltose was not detected. Minerals were detected in the order of P>K>Mg>Ca>Fe and the content of Fe and Na had a little changes during its 30 days storage. Amino acid contents were getting lower during storage. They were about 28% lower compared 3 days with 30 days storage. Electron donating ability of Yakju and its diluents were tested by DPPH. It was found that the electron donating ability of Yakju was lower as the dilution ratio got higher and as the storage terms got longer. Also, Yakju brewed with natural plants has 95.7∼96.7% of electron donating ability during 30 days storage without regard to its dilution ratio. Superoxide dismutase(SOD) like activity was in inverse proportion to dilution ratio and storage days. The highest SOD like activity was shown 51.5% and 53.9% in 3 days storage Yakju brewed with natural plants and in its 2 times diluents, respectively.

An automated analysis system for water soluble constituents in $PM_{2.5}$ has been developed. The system consists of a high capacity multi tube diffusion scrubber (MTDS), a low temperature particle impactor (LTPI), and two ion (anion and cation) chromatography (IC) systems. Atmospheric particles have been collected by passing sample air through a thermostated MTDS followed by a LTPI. This system allows simultaneous measurements of soluble ions in $PM_{2.5}$ at 30 minutes interval. At the air sampling flow rate of 1.0L/min, the detection limits of the overall system are in the order of tens of $ng/m^3$. This system has been successfully used for the measurement of particulate components of Seoul air from April 2003 to January 2004. $SO_4^{2-},\;NO_3^-,\;NH_4^+,\;NO_2^-,\;Cl^-,\;Na^+,\;K^+,\;Ca^{2+},\;and\;Mg^{2+}$ are the major ionic species for $PM_{2.5}$ at Seoul. Among them, $SO_4^{2-},\;NO_3^-\;and\;NH_4^+$ are the most abundant ions, contributed up to $86\%$ of the total and the concentrations were higher than those in any other urban sites in the world except for Chinese cities. There are high pollutant episodes which contribute about $15\~20\%$ of annual average values of the major ions. During the episode, the all parcels were transported from the asian continent and $PM_{2.5}$ were significantly neutralized. This suggests that aged and long range transported pollutants caused the high pollutant episodes. They showed a distinct daily and seasonal variations:they showed a peak in the early morning caused by the night-time accumulation of particulate matters. Atmospheric reactions including gas-to-particle reactions and inter-particle reactions and meteorological parameters including relative humidity and ambient temperature were described with related to the $PM_{2.5}$ 5 concentrations. All of the ionic species showed higher concentrations during the spring than those for summer and winter.

Objective: This study was performed to compare the clinical response to controlled ovarian hyperstimulation (COH) of in vitro fertilization and embryo transfer (IVF-ET) according to the size of baseline ovarian cyst. Method: From February 1992 to March 1999, a retrospective analysis was done of 272 cases who underwent COH using mid-luteal phase long protocol of gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonist (GnRH-a) for IVF-ET. These cases were divided into four group; group 1 (n=63) had cysts with mean diameters between 20.0 and 29.0 mm on their baseline ultrasound on cycle day 3, group 2 (n=57, $30.0{\sim}49.0mm$), group 3 (n=68, >50.0 mm) and control group (n=84). Cases were excluded according to the following criteria; pure male factor infertility, the presence of only one ovary, high CA-125 level and previous endometriosis. Results: There were no statistically significant differences between cases with baseline ovarian cyst <50.0 mm in diameter and control group in any of the parameters. However, cases with baseline ovarian cyst>50.0 mm in mean diameter needed more amount of human menopausal gonadotropin (hMG), showed significantly lower estradiol ($E_2$) level, the number of follicle >15.0 mm on the day of human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) administration, the number of oocytes retrieved, the number of mature oocytes, and pregnancy rate compared with control group. Conclusion: This study suggests that cases with baseline ovarian cyst <50.0 mm in diameter do not adversely impact on IVF-ET outcome. However, cases with baseline ovarian cyst >50.0 mm in diameter had adverse effects on various parameters. Therefore, to improve the outcome of IVF-ET in these cases, ovarian cyst aspiration prior to initiating COH may be required.
