Let K be an absolutely real abelian number field with $G=Gal(K/{\mathbb{Q}})$. Let E be a subfield of K and ${\Delta}=Gal(K/E)$. Let $C_K$ and $C_E$ be the group of circular units of K and E respectively. In [G], Greither has shown that if G is cyclic then $C_K^{\Delta}=C_E$. In this paper we show that the same result holds in function field case.

The Pseudorabies (PR), also called Aujeszky's disease (AD), is an infectious viral disease caused by an alpha herpes virus and has domestic and wild pigs, as well as a wide range of domestic and wild animals, as the natural host. Pseudorabies virus (PRV) virions contain several envelope glycoproteins. Among them, gB, gC and gD are regarded as the major immunogenic proteins. We expressed these glycoproteins using the bacterial expression system and analyzed recombinant proteins. Expression of glycoproteins gC and gD were observed on SDS-PAGE or Western blot analysis, but gB was not. Optimal concentration of IPTG and inducing time were determined as 1.0 mM and 4 h, respectively, for the expression of both gC and gD in E. coli. A sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) was the most efficient detergent in solubilizing insoluble recombinant protein.

Ginsenosides present in the roots of panax ginseng C.A. Meyer were shown to induce a stimulatory effect on the overexpressed cellular chicken c-src protein tyrossine kinase in NH3T3 cells. Among 4 ginsenosides studied $(G-Rb_2,\;G-Rc,\;G-Re\;and\;G-Rg_1),\;G-Rg_1$ showed the most stimulatory effect at $16.7\mu{g/ml}$ ginsenoside concentration increasing the activity by 2-4 times. Inhibitors of either protein synthesis or RNA synthesis blocked the activation of c-src proein tyrosine kinase. These results suggest that the csrc kinase activation apprars to involve an increase in the amount of protein of the kinase by transcriptional control mechanism rather than an increase in the kinase activity.

The hepadnaviruses replicate their nucleic acid through a reverse transcription step. The MBP-fused HBV polymerase was expressed in E. coli and purified by using amylase affinity column chromatography. The purified protein represented DNA-dependent DNA polymerase activity. In this report, the MBP-HBV polymerase was shown to lack 3'$\rightarrow$5' exonuclease activity, like other retroviral RTs. The ratio of the insertion efficiency for the wrong versus right vase pairs indicates the misinsertion frequency (f). The nucleotide insertion fidelity (1/f), observed with the MBP-HBV polymerase and HIV-1 RT, was between 60 and 54,000, and between 50 and 73,000, respectively, showing that they are in close range. A relatively efficient nucleotide incorporation by the MBP-HBV polymerase was observed with a specificity of three groups: (1) A : T, T : A>C : G, G : C (matched pairs), (2) A : C, C : A>G: T, T : G (purine-pyrimidine and pyrimidine-purine mispairs), and (3) C : C, A : A, G : G, T : T>T : C, C : T>A : G, G : A (purine-purine or pyrimidine-pyrimidine mispairs), and their order is (1)>(2)>(3). The data from the nucleotide insertion fidelity by the MBP-HBV polymerase suggest that the HBV polymerase may be as error-prone as HIV-1 RT.

In this report, we provide experimental evidence that heavy metal ions could be removed using Pachymeniopsis sp., particularly soluble arsenic in leachate from soil contaminated by arsenic. We performed pilot scale of soil washing process based on our results. The adsorption of arsenic by Pachymeniopsis sp. indicated that it could be described with the Langmuir Model and the maximum adsorption capacity increased with decreasing pH (pH 3: 102.48 mg/g, pH 5: 98.32 mg/g, pH 7: 57.70 mg/g, pH 9: 43.34 mg/g) and increasing temperature (10$^{\circ}C$ : 60.38 mg/g, 20$^{\circ}C$ : 76.39 mg/g, 30$^{\circ}C$ : 112.12 mg/g). Our results revealed that soluble arsenic in leachate was removed from 24.03 mg/L to 0.6 ${\pm}$ 0.1 mg/L by Pachymeniopsis sp. for 48hours on pilot scale of soil washing process.

This study was conducted to compare the cellular fatty acid composition and genotypic analysis of Bifidobacterium longum MK-G7 originated from Koreans with other commercial type strains of bifidobacteria. The cellular fatty acid of Bif. longum MK-G7 was shown to be composed of $C_{160FAME},C_{181\;c18DMA},C_{18.1\;CIS9\; FAME},C_{14.0FAME},C_{19\;0cye9,10 DMA},Feature7(C_{17.2 FAME), and Feature 10(C_{181\; Cll/t9/t6 FAME}$. Bif. longum MK-G7 showed 99.9% homology and the highest relatedness with Bif. longum ATCC 15707 type strain. Both Bif. longum MK-G7 and Bif. longum ATCC 15707 showed 153 bp products on RAPD (randomly amplified polymorphic DNA) analysis, however, they showed quite different band patterns on PFGE (pulsed-field gel electrophoresis) analysis. Consequently, our present study showed that Bif. longum MK-G7 was different from any commercial type strains of Bif. longum tested.

The method of conjugate gradient (C.G.M.) is applied to the solution of current distribution from body of revolution(B.O.R.). Using the C.G.M., it is possible to analyze electrically large arbitratily oriented B.O.R.. The fundamental differencess between C.G.M. and moment are outlined. This method converge for any initial guess, and this techniqe guarantees a monotonic convegence. Numerical resulsts are presented for electromagnetic case which shows good agreements with moment solution.

Fat quality is determined by the composition of fatty acids. Genetic relationships between this composition and single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in the stearoyl-CoA desaturase1 (SCD1) gene were examined using 513 Korean native cattle. Single and epistatic effects of 7 SNP genetic variations were investigated, and the multifactor dimensionality reduction (MDR) method was used to investigate gene interactions in terms of oleic acid (C18:1), mono-unsaturated fatty acids (MUFAs) and marbling score (MS). The g.6850+77 A>G and g.14047 C>T SNP interactions were identified as the statistically optimal combination (C18:1, MUFAs and MS permutation p-values were 0.000, 0.000 and 0.001 respectively) of two-way gene interactions. The interaction effects of g.6850+77 A>G, g.10213 T>C and g.14047 C>T reflected the highest training-balanced accuracy (63.76%, 64.70% and 61.85% respectively) and was better than the individual effects for C18:1, MUFAs and MS. In addition, the superior genotype groups were AATTCC, AGTTCC, GGTCCC, AGTCCT, GGCCCT and AGCCTT. These results suggest that the selected SNP combination of the SCD1 gene and superior genotype groups can provide useful inferences for the improvement of the fatty acid composition in Korean native cattle.

In this dissertation I have interest in the personality classification in order to recognize the personlity classification in order to recognize the tenfency of the mentality and the action. This paper compare the temperament of Sasangin(四象人) by Lee Je Ma(李濟馬) and The Psychological Types of C. G. Jung. As a result I get the following conclusions:1. Sasang understood that Sassangin have original tendency of the mentality. But C. G. Jung understood man has all of the four psychological type though they have discrepancy among them.2. In the function of the mentality, the both are similar.3. The mentality of So-Eum-In(少陰人) is similar to The Type of Thinking. The mentality of So-Yang-In(少陽人) is simliar to The Type of Feeling. The mentality of Tae-Eum-In(太陰人) is similar to The Type of Sensation. The mentality of Tae-Yang-In(太陽人) is similar to The Type of Intuition.4. The tendency of the mentality by the personality classification is of some use in the oriental medical therapy.5. For using the tendency of the mentality in oriental medical psychotherapy, they require more studies.

Objectives: In this study, we examine whether Sasang constitutions include all 8 attitude-function types, forming a complete paradigm from the perspective of Jungian psychological type theory. Methods: Analysis of the meanings of psychological attitudes and function of each Sasang constitution was performed, comparing them with the typological theories of C.G.Jung and John Beebe, both of whom are eminent minds in Jungian typology. Results and Conclusions: (1) Each Sasang constitution had all 8 psychological attitude-function combinations, which are diversely differentiated by type within their conscious and unconscious psyches. This is likely because attitudes and functions that develop in the conscious mind build up compensating attitudes and functions in the unconscious. (2) It seems that extroversion and introversion coexist within every Sasang constitution as psychological descriptions reported by Lee, Je ma state. The superior and inferior functions are disposed in the order of organ size in Sasang constitutions, but dominance of extroversion or introversion as defined by Jung's concepts of attitude does not seem to be determined by constitution.
