Relation Analysis of High School Students' Abstract Thinking, Language Familiarity, and Academic Achievement on C and Scratch Program Understanding (C와 스크래치 프로그램 이해에 대한 고등학생의 추상적 사고, 언어친밀성, 학업성취도 관계 분석)

  • In computer education area, abstract thinking has played a positive role in programming ability, and language experience has also affected the ability. However, most of the studies were empirical. The practical research about the relation analysis between abstract thinking and programming ability has rarely been performed. Among various types of programming abilities such as coding, debugging, and reading, this paper focused on program understanding. We analyzed the affection relation on program understanding and the interaction effect between abstract thinking level and language familiarity. We surveyed 376 high school students on their abstract thinking levels, language familiarity, academic achievement, and the program understanding abilities of C and Scratch. From the research, we knew that the abstract thinking level played an important role in understanding the iterative program for the male students. In addition, if the students had the experience on other programming languages before entering high schools, then there was an interaction effect between abstract thinking level and program language familiarity.

  • The imperative programming language like C language is Generally used when we develop the game program. But there is the need of much effort and time on low-level-details in order to express the game program that has complicated and varied motion. I will try to take measures to use the pure functional language, Haskell as the method of simplifying complex game program. The pure functional programming language like Haskell has excellence of technology and it has become specific in many domains. In this paper I'll discuss the difference between The two languages and merits and demerits in the game development aspect. Also discuss the possibility of putting Haskell to practical use in the future.

  • In general, flow analysis programs have been built in not JAVA language but such as Fortran, C or C++ because of a merit in performance of computation. However, most developer of those languages are not free for use. User should purchase the development tools of programs, and install it on their own computer. Fortunately, JAVA is a free software, and can be used to develop WEB-based programs. It is well known that the JAVA language is time consuming for calculating. However, the performance of computer power has been increased continuously, so it is sure that the former states can be overcome. In the present study, a flow analysis program, which is interactive with Graphics, using the Web-based programing language, JAVA, has been developed for solving the two-dimensional flow motion.

Translation Java Bytecode to EVM SIL Code for Embedded Virtual Machines

  • This paper presents the bytecode-to-SIL translator which enables the execution of the java program in EVM(Embedded Virtual Machine) environment without JVM(java Virtual Machine), translating bytecodes produced by compiling java programs into SIL(Standard Intermediate Language) codes. EVM, what we are now developing, is a virtual machine solution that can download and execute dynamic application programs written in sequential languages like C language as well as object oriented languages such as C#, Java, etc. EVM is a virtual machine mounted on embedded systems such as mobile device, set-top box, or digital TV, and converts the application program into SIL, an assembly language symbolic form, and execute it. SIL is a virtual machine code for embedded systems, based on the analysis of existing virtual machine codes such as bytecode, MSIL, etc. SIL has such features as to accommodate various programming languages, and in particularly has an operation code set to accept both object-oriented languages and sequential languages. After compiling, a program written in java language is converted to bytecode, and also executed by JVM platform but not in other platform such as .NET, EVM platform. For this reason, we designed and implemented the bytecode-to-SIL translator system for programs written in java language to be executed in the EVM platform without JVM. This work improves the execution speed of programs, enhances the productivity, and provides an environment for programmers to execute application programs at various platforms.

eFlowC: A Packet Processing Language for Network Management (eFlowC : 네트워크 관리를 위한 패킷 처리 언어)

  • In this paper, we propose a high-level programming language for packet processing called eFlowC and it supporting programming development environment. Based on the C language which is already familiar and easy to use to program developers, eFlowC maintains the similar syntax and semantics of C. Some features that are unnecessary for the packet processing has been removed from C, eFlowC is highly focused on performing packet data, database, string byte information checking and event processing. Design high-level programming languages and apply an existing language or compiler technology, language function and compilation process that is required for packet processing will be described. In order to use the DPIC device such as X11, we designed a virtual machine eFVM that takes into account the scalability and portability. We have evaluated the utility of the proposed language by experimenting a variety of real application programs with our programming environment such as compiler, simulator and debugger for eFVM. As there is little research that devoted to define the formats, meanings and functions of the packet processing language, this research is significant and expected to be a basis for the packet processing language.

  • This paper compares the Java program environments and NDK program environments in the Android system. This paper experiments that how much is the performance enhancement in the NDK C programming of the Android system. I program sum of 1 to n for Java program and NDK C program. I experiment whether the influence an effect on a performance by changing n value. In experiment, NDK C program is over 50% performance enhancement than Java program.

  • In this paper, we propose a C_PBS(C Program Bank System) which can support effective learning of C language. C_PBS allows a variety of problem uses and provides 3 types of search method for user convenience. It also shows many useful facilities: a variety of answers to a problem, display of problems according to reference frequency, interesting problem list, and problem carts. Especially, with the addition of comments and reference to the problems and answers, it implements collective intelligence via mutual collaborative learning by supporting the philosophy of web 2.0: participation, sharing, and open.

심전계(ECG)의 제작설계

  • Laboratory information system (LIS) is a key tool to manage laboratory data in clinical pathology. Our department has developed an information system for routine hematology using down-sized computer system. We have used an IBM 486 compatible PC with 16MB main memory, 210 MB hard disk drive, 9 RS-232C port and 24 pin dot printer. The operating system and database management system were SCO UNIX and SCO foxbase, respectively. For program development, we used Xbase language provided by SCO foxbase. The C language was used for interface purpose. To make the system use friendly, pull-down menu was used. The system connected to our hospital information system via application program interface (API), so the information related to patient and request details is automatically transmitted to our computer. Our system interfaced with fwd complete blood count analyzers(Sysmex NE-8000 and Coulter STKS) for unidirectional data tansmission from analyzer to computer. The authors suggests that this system based on down-sized computer could provide a progressive approach to total LIS based on local area network, and the implemented system could serve as a model for other hospital's LIS for routine hematology.

  • There is an increasing concern about computer education with the age of knowledge-based society. The learning programming language is taking an important role of computer education. However, the special emphasis in learning programming language has been attached to memorizing the programming language by rote and learning computer programs. Therefore, those were not much useful tools to develope a logical intelligence of the meanings of programming language and the methods of realization. It is positively necessary to improve the programming education efficiently because of the objects of knowledge of computing and raising an efficiency of problem solving. Under the circumstances, this research is aimed at representing an useful education model through developing a mathmatical program into each part of the C programming language, which would be a new supplier of an basic insight into the programming language and techniques. Accordingly it is thought that the research material will be an useful model to increase interests and concerns as well as to raise an efficiency of problem solving or a logical intelligence going through the process of studying programming language.

  • The aim of the research is to develop a PC based courseware which is programed to drafts clothing patterns. The pattern making are numerically formulized. The of the program were as follows;1. Menu and instructions are displayed in Korean Language. 2. Easy step-by-step instructions explaining how to draw basic pattern and design pattern. 3. Low cost personal computer and general purpose printer are used. The source program was written in C-language and compiled using Turbop C. The Bezier spline is used to draw curves of pattern and to display Korean characters and pattern on same screen simultaneoulsy, Korean characters are drawn graphically. The low cost IBM Personal Computer or compatibles with Hercules Graphic Card is required to run this grogram.
