  • In this paper, we present the software part of the intelligent data processing unit (IDPU), which plays an important role in SiMACS. The software system processes ECG, EEG, EMG, blood pressure, respiration, temperature signals, and extracts some information about patient conditions. It displays the patient condition information and the signal data synchronously, and manages them together with other patient personal data in a network-based client/server environment. The software system is designed in an object-oriented paradigm, and implemented in C++ as a window-based application program.

Polymerization of 3-Ethynylphenol Try Transition Metal Catalysts

  • The polymerization of 3-ethynylphenol, phenylacetylene having hydroxy functionality, was carried out by tungsten and molybdenum-based transition metal catalysts. The polymerization proceeded to give a moderate yield of polymer. The effects on the mole ratio of monomer to catalyst (M/C), initial monomer concentration ((Mb), and the polymerization temperature for the polymerization of 3-ethynylphenol were investigated. The catalytic activity of W-based catalysts was found to be greater than that of Mo-based catalysts. The resulting polymers were brown or black powders and mostly insoluble in organic solvents. Structural analysis of the polymer by instrumental methods revealed the conjugated polymer backbone structure carrying hydroxyphenyl moieties. Thermal and morphological properties of the resulting poly(3-ethynylphenol) were also discussed.

Clarification about Component Mode Synthesis Methods for Substructures with Physical Flexible Interfaces

  • The objective of the paper is to clarify a methodology based on the use of the existing component mode synthesis methods for the case of two damped substructures which are coupled through a linking viscoelastic flexible substructure and for which the structural modes with free geometrical interface are used for each main substructure. The proposed methodology corresponds to a convenient alternative to the direct use either of the Craig-Bampton method applied to the three substructures (using the fixed geometric interface modes) or of the flexibility residual approaches initiated by MacNeal (using the free geometric interface modes). In opposite to a geometrical interface which is a topological interface on which there is a direct linkage between the degrees of freedom of substructures, we consider a physical flexible interface which exists in certain present technologies and for which the general framework linear viscoelasticity is used and yields a frequency-dependent damping and stiffness matrices of the physical flexible interface.

  • A digital wave tank (DWT) simulation technique has been developed by authors to investigate the interactions of fully nonlinear waves with 3D marine structures. A finite-difference/volume method and a modified marker-and-cell (MAC) algorithm have been used, which are based on the Navier-Stokes (NS) and continuity equations. The fully nonlinear kinematic free-surface condition is implemented by the marker-density function (MDF) technique or the Level-Set (LS) technique developed for one or two fluid layers. In this paper, some applications for various engineering problems with free-surface are introduced and discussed. It includes numerical simulation of marine environments by simulation equipments, fully nonlinear wave motions around offshore structures, nonlinear ship waves, ship motions in waves and marine flow simulation with free-surface. From the presented simulations, it seems that the developed DWT simulation technique can handle various engineering problems with free-surface and reliably predict hydrodynamic features due to the fully-nonlinear wave motions interacting with such marine structures.

  • This paper focus on a method to use Ethernet Network for Industrial Communication Network. Ethernet use the CSMA/CD MAC(Medium Access Control) Protocol at the Data-Link Layer, Which isn't suit for Industrial Communication Network requiring Real-Time Communication, periodic data processing, critical data processing characteristics. In this paper we proposed the Virtual Polling Algorithm at the Application Layer will be solution of using the Ethernet Network for the Industrial Communication Network, Proposed Algorithm terminate the Collision in the network thus Delay Time is reduced and Real-Time Communication will be implemented.

  • The vibration of Powertrain are one of the import design characteristics of a vehicle. Powertrain is mostly mounted to the front subframe and powertrain mounting has an important role in determining the vehicle vibration characteristics. In this paper, the accuracy of the vibration analysis for the front subframe is discussed. The dynamic characteristic of subframe are measured from vehicle test and the finite element model updating are performed that natural frequency, mass and MAC of the experimental and theoretical modal analysis are compared. The subframe mounting stiffness are obtained the iteration method based on the vibration of subframe from vehicle test. Finally, the result of dynamic analysis which is operated dynamic load is compared with experimental one of vehicle test.

  • 최근 높은 대역폭을 요구하는 애플리케이션이 증가하면서 10G 이더넷이 활발히 도입되고 있으나, 트래픽의 집중화가 계속 진행되고 있어서 더욱 큰 대역폭을 제공할 수 있는 100G급 이더넷 기술이 요구되고 있다. 100G 이더넷은 단거리 서버 환경을 지원하는 40G 이더넷과 함께 IEEE 802.3에서 표준화를 진행하고 있으며 2010년 완료를 목표로 하고 있다. 그리고 ITU-T SG15에서는 100G급 OTN 신호에 대한 논의가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 본 고에서는 40G/100G 이더넷 표준화 동향과 이슈들에 대해 살펴보고, 관련 MAC/PHY 기술과 OTN 전송 기술에 대해 살펴 본다.

Fast Implementation of a 128bit AES Block Cipher Algorithm OCB Mode Using a High Performance DSP

  • In this paper, the 128bit AES block cipher algorithm OCB (Offset Code Book) mode for privacy and authenticity of high speed packet data was efficiently designed in C language level and was optimized to support the required capacity of contents server using high performance DSP. It is known that OCB mode is about two times faster than CBC-MAC mode. As an experimental result, the encryption / decryption speed of the implemented block cipher was 308Mbps, 311 Mbps respectively at 1GHz clock speed, which is 50% faster than a general design with 3.5% more memory usage.

기본적(基本的) 변수(變數)와 주식수익률(株式收益率)의 관계(關係)에 관한 실증적(實證的) 연구(硏究)

  • 본 연구는 기업규모, 장부가치/시장가치 비율, 순이익/주가 비율, 현금흐름/주가 비율, 레버리지 등 기본적 변수를 사용하여 주식수익률에 유의적인 변수를 확인하고, 또한 Fama and French(1993) 등에 의해서 제시된 다요인모형(multi-factor model)이 한국주식시장에서 적용가능한 지를 살펴보았다. 이를 위하여 본 연구에서는 Fama and MacBeth(1973)의 횡단면회귀모형과 Black, Jensen, and Scholes (1972)의 시계열모형을 사용하였으며, 실증분석결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 먼저 횡단면분석결과에 의하면, 장부가치/시장가치 비율(BE/ME), 현금흐름/주가 비율(C/P) 등이 주식수익률의 횡단면적 차이를 설명할 수 있는 유의적인 변수로 나타났다. 그리고 통계적 의미에서는 1월효과가 존재한다고 보기 어려우나, 경제적 의미에서 1월효과가 존재하는 것으로 생각된다. 시계열분석결과에 의하면, 시장요인, 기업규모요인, 장부가치/시장가치요인(또는 현금흐름/주가요인) 등의 3요인에 의해서 국내 주식수익률의 공통적 변동을 잘 설명할 수 있다. 즉 국내 증권시장에서도 Fama and French(1993)의 3요인모형이 성립될 수 있는 것으로 판단된다.

NUMERICAL STUDY ON TWO-DIMENSIONAL INCOMPRESSIBLE VISCOUS FLOW BASED ON GRIDLESS METHOD (2차원 비압축성 점성유동에 관한 무격자법 기반의 수치해석)

  • The gridless (or meshfree) methods, such as MPS, SPH, FPM an so forth, are feasible and robust for the problems with moving boundary and/or complicated boundary shapes, because these methods do not need to generate a grid system. In this study, a gridless solver, which is based on the combination of moving least square interpolations on a cloud of points with point collocation for evaluating the derivatives of governing equations, is presented for two-dimensional unsteady incompressible Navier-Stokes problem in the low Reynolds number. A MAC-type algorithm was adopted and the Poission equation for the pressure was solved successively in the moving least square sense. Some typical problems were solved by the presented solver for the validation and the results obtained were compared with analytic solutions and the numerical results by conventional CFD methods, such as a FVM.
