석회석 광산에서 폐석 적치장 사면의 안정성 평가 (Stability Assesment of the Slope at the Disposal Site of Waste Rock in Limestone Mine)

  • L 석회석 광산에서 폐석 덤핑 투하 지점이 놓인 위치에 따라 폐석층 또는 암반층에 따라 구분하고 총11개의 폐석 적치장중 7개소를 대상으로 사면안정해석을 수행하였다. 폐석층에 대해서는 Bishop 법을 이용한 원호파괴 해석과 유한요소법을 적용하였으며, 암반층은 평사투영법에 의해 잠재적인 파괴 가능성을 분석하고 한계평형법 해석에 의해 안전율을 산정하였다. 또한 암반사면의 전체적인 거동을 파악하기 위해 유한요소법을 적용하였다. 이 때 유한요소법으로 사면의 안정성을 안전율로 표시하기 위하여 강도감소법을 이용하였다. 안정 해석결과 폐석층 사면은 D 지역에서, 그리고 암반층의 경우 F와 G 지역에서 사면의 안정성 확보가 곤란한 것으로 평가되었으며, 아울러 폐석 적치장의 해석결과를 토대로 안정성을 확보하기 위한 방안을 제시하였다. 즉, D 지역의 사면은 파괴 활동면을 벗어난 지역에서 덤핑 후 도져에 의해 Push하는 방안이 필요하며, F와 G지역은 단층대 발달이 없는 지역으로 덤핑-투하 지점을 이동하여 적치하는 방안을 추천하였다.

  • 산업폐수가운데 유기성폐수로서 설탕, Ice cream 및 맥주공장폐수등 3종을 택하여 그중에 번식하는 유용한 미생물로서 생장도활성이 큰 효모균주를 분리하고 선정균주에 의한 폐수처리실험한 결과 최적조건하($pH\;4.5{\sim}5.5,\;30{\pm}1^{\circ}C,\;O_2\;0.2\;v/v/min.,\;600{\sim}900\;r.p.m.$) 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 1) 분리동정한 Candida curvata는 3종의 식품공장폐수에 배양실험한 결과, 무기영양원 첨가시 생육이 양호하여 폐수처리에 이용가능한 균주이었다 2) 폐수의 멸균조작의 유무는 설탕및 맥주공장폐수의 경우, 배양결과에 큰 차이가 없었으며, 다만 Ice cream공장폐수의 경우 비멸균시 induction period가 훨신 장시간이었다. 3) 비멸균배양시 최대 비증식속도는 설탕, Ice cream 및 맥주공장폐수 순으로 각각 0.5, 0.5 및 1.0/hr이었다. 4) 접종량을 늘리면, 비멸균시에서도 induction period가 짧아지고 따라서 배양시간이 단축되었다. 5) 건조균체량은 설탕, 맥주 및 Ice cream공장폐수 순으로 폐수 $1{\ell}$당 각각 175mg, 628mg 및 857mg이었고, 균체의 조란백함량은 같은 순으로 각각 52%, 54% 및 54%이었다. 6) BOD 제거율은 위의 5)항과 같은 순으로 각각 49%, 80%, 및 64%이었다.

Pilot scale 세정산발효를 이용한 하수 일차슬러지의 산발효 (The Recovery of Carbon Source from Municipal Primary Sludge using Pilot Scale Elutriated Acidogenic Fermentation)

  • 본 연구에서는 하수일차슬러지의 가용화 및 산발효를 위한 pilot scale 세정산발효공정의 운전 특성을 검토하였다. 하수일 차슬러지의 가용화 및 산발효 특성을 평가하기 위해 SRT, 세정수 및 운전온도를 변화시켜 실험을 수행하였다. 세정산발 효공정의 가용화율은 온도가 높을수록 증가하는 반면, 산생성율은 중온조건($35^{\circ}C$)이 고온조건($55^{\circ}C$)보다 높게 나타났다. VS 감량은 약 56%, 슬러지 부피감량은 약 93%까지 나타났다. 가용화측면에서 세정산발효공정의 최적운전조건은 pH 9, $35^{\circ}C$ 및 SRT 5일이 적합 할 것으로 판단된다.

Microstructure of Non-Sintered Inorganic Binder using Phosphogypsum and Waste Lime as Activator

  • This study is about the development of a non-sintered binder (NSB) which does not require a sintering process by using the industrial by-products Phosphogypsum (PG), Waste Lime (WL) and Granulated Blast Furnace Slag (GBFS). In this report, through SEM analysis of the NSB paste hardening body, micropore analysis of paste using the mercury press-in method and microstructure observation were executed to consider the influence of the formation of the pore structure and the distribution of pore volume on strength, and the following conclusions were reached. 1) Pore structure of NSB paste of early age is influenced by hydrate generation amount by GBFS and activator. 2) Through observing the internal microstructure of NSB binder paste, it was found that the strength expression at early age due to hydration reaction was achieved with a large amount of ettringite serving as the frame with C-S-H gel generated at the same time. It was confirmed that C-S-H gel wrapped around ettringite, and as time passed, the amount generated continually increased, and C-S-H gel tightly filled the pores of hardened paste, forming a dense network-type web structure. 3) For NSB-type cement, the degree of formation of gel pores below $10{\mu}m$ had a greater influence on strength improvement than simple pore reduction by charging capillary pores, and the pore size that had the greatest effect on strength was micropores with diameter below $10{\mu}m$.

종합병원 환자 당뇨식의 찬반에 대한 심층적 분석 (The Indepth Analysis of Plate Waste for DM Diet Served in General Hospital)

  • The purpose of this study was to : (a) examine diabetic patients' sensory evaluation and food preferences, (b) analyze the portion sizes & plate wastes, (c) investigate the factors affecting plate wastes, and (d) determine the nutritional & mometary values of the plate wastes. A questionnaire for determining food preference and sensory evaluation was developed. Thirty-three diabetic patients who were hospitalized in Sanggye Paik hospital in Seoul were studied. Serving sizes and plate wastes were weighed by using an electric scale, and the CAN-Pro program was used to evaluate the nutritional value or the food consumed. The data were analyzed using the SAS package program for descriptive analysis, t-test, ANOVA, and the Pearson correlation. Using a five-point Likeu-type scale, the temperature s[ore ranged from 3.1 to 3.3 (1 : very poor, 5 : excellent), the preference store was 3.0-3.2 (1 : very dislike, 5:very like), the taste score was 2.9-3.2 (1 : very poor, 5 : excellent), and the amount of food served score was 2.8-3.0 (1 : too little, 5 : too much). Serving sizes were considered insufficient by patients because most of the DM diet was low in calories. Average plate waste for the DM diet was 26.2% of the total served, by weight, and was lower than that for patients consuming a normal diet, which was 30.3%, found in previous research. Those subjects who had been previously hospitalized and who wished to participate in a campaign for food waste reduction produced less plate waste than other groups (p<.05). Plate wastes of the DM diet were negatively correlated with taste, temperature, and preference, and were positively correlated with the amount served: however, these results were not statistically significant. It was found that diabetic patients consumed adequate levels of energy, protein, Ca, Fe, Vitamin B$_1$, Vitamin B$_2$, and niacin, but inadequate levels of Phosphorus, Vitamin A and Vitamin C. The plate wastes were calculated to be 26.2% of the total cost (₩ 3,489), which is ₩9l5. This represents a significant wastage of resources from the hospital. The results of this study could assist foodservice managers in both controlling food wastage, and improving the quality of hospital food services.

두께가 얇은 냉간단조품의 스프링백 거동 및 저감설계 (Behavior and Reduction of Spring-back in a Thin Cold-Forged Product)

  • The flange hub is a main component in an automotive steering system. In general, the flange hub are fabricated by mechanical machining, which is a process where material waste is inevitable. It is well-known that a net-shape cold forging cannot only reduce material waste but can also improve the mechanical strength of the final product. Thus, a forging process design was conducted for production of a flange hub. Significant spring-back occurs around the flange due to its small thickness in conjunction with the residual stresses after forging. In order to achieve the required dimensional accuracy, a process design with appropriate spring-back control is needed. In this study, a modification of the forging die was designed based on FE analysis with the purpose of spring-back compensation. Four kinds of different die designs were evaluated and the optimum design has two times less spring-back than the initial design. The compensation angle of the optimum design is 0.5 degrees. The results have been experimentally confirmed by cold forging of a flange hub and comparing the amount of spring-back between the actual component and the FE analysis.

The Use of Oyster Shell Powders for Water Quality Improvement of Lakes by Algal Blooms Removal

  • In this year, Koreans have a shortage in agricultural and drinking water due to severe algal blooms generated in major lakes. Waste oyster shells were obtained from temporary storage near the workplace at which oysters were separated from their shells. Heating ($1000^{\circ}C$ for 1 h in air) was employed to convert raw oyster shell powders into calcium oxide powders that reacted efficiently with phosphorus and nitrogen to remove algal blooms from eutrophicated wastewater. As the dispersed amount of heated oyster shell powders was increased, water clarity and visual light penetration were improved. Coagulation, precipitation and carbonation process of the heated oyster shell powders in a water purifier facilitated removal of eutrophication nutrient such as phosphorus and nitrogen, which is both beneficial and economically viable. $CO_2$ implantation by carbonation treatment not only produced thermodynamically stable CaO in oyster shells to derive precipitated calcium carbonate (PCC) but also accelerated algal removal by activation of coagulation and precipitation process. The use of oyster shell powders led to a mean reduction of 97% in total phosphate (T-P), a mean reduction of 91% in total nitrogen (T-N) and a maximum reduction of 51% in chemical oxygen demand (COD), compared with the total pollutant load of raw algal solution. Remarkable water quality improvement of algal removal by heated oyster shell powders and PCC carbonation treatment will allow utilization as water resources to agricultural or industrial use.

$Mn_3O_4$ 분진으로부터 고순도 훼로망간 제조에 관한 연구 (A Study on Making of High-Purity Ferro-manganese from $Mn_3O_4$ Waste Dust)

  • In order to make high-purity ferro-manganese from $Mn_3O_4$ waste dust, the application of aluminothermite process to the reduction of the waste dust was investigated. The mixture from $Mn_3O_4$ dust as metallic source and Al metal powder as the reductant ignited, and reduced with an extremely intense exothermic reaction. The rapid propagation of the aluminothermite reaction occurred spontaneously and stably by ignition of the mixture. The Manganese having some alloy elements emerged as liquids due to the high temperatures reached up to about $2,500^{\circ}C$ and separated from the liquid by their differences of specific gravity. The result of thermite reaction showed the fact that can be obtained high purity ferro-manganese which have over about 90% of manganese content and lower impurities such as C, P, S than those of KS D3712 specification. The recovery of manganese from $Mn_3O_4$ dust was lower level of about 65% than about 75% from manganese ore by electric furnace process, that is due to spatter loss because of its extremely intense thermite reaction. But it will be improved by the process designed to provide CaO as the cooler or to use the Al metal powder having larger particle size distribution.

냉각 제습에 의한 음식물 쓰레기 처리장치 악취제거에 관한 실험적 연구 (A Study on an experimental basis a use deodorize stink of food-waste in order to cooling dehumidification)

  • This paper presents an effective cooling dehumidification method to remove odorous gas from food-wastes. The odorous gases, such as Styrene, Ammonia, Hydrogen sulfide and Acetaldehyde, are produced in environments where temperature is $50\sim80^{\circ}C$ and humidity is $40\sim70%$. Under such conditions, experiments are performed reiteratively using experiment equipments. The effect of the cooling dehumidification is measured via measuring instrument, and this research is focused on improving efficiency. The effect of cooling dehumidification using measuring instrument is validated. At $80^{\circ}C$, four type of gases that was mentioned previously showed generally better cooling efficiency with a good result for a component concentration. Among them, hydrogen sulfide gas demonstrated the highest reduction of 50%.

구형 부스바를 이용한 전해연마액의 폐산 폐기물 감소를 위한 공정 최적화 (Process Optimization for Reduction of Waste Acids of Electropolishing Solution using Round Bus Bar)

  • 본 연구에서는 전류효율 향상을 통하여 전해연마 공정 중 발생하는 폐산 폐기물 발생량을 감소시키고자 하였다. 구형 부스바와 Taguchi 기법을 이용하여 전해연마 공정의 최적 조건을 도출하였다. 전해연마 공정 중 전류효율에 영향을 미치는 제어인자로 전류밀도, 전해연마 시간, 전해액 온도, 유량을 선택하였다. 각 제어인자에 대하여 3수준을 고려하여 직교 배열표를 작성하여 실험을 수행하였다. Taguchi 기법에 따라 망대특성 SN비를 산출한 결과 전류밀도가 가장 큰 영향을 미치고 전해연마 시간이 가장 적은 영향을 미치는 것을 확인하였다. 폐산 폐기물 발생량을 최소화할 수 있는 최적 조건은 전류밀도 $45A/dm^2$,전해연마 시간 4 min, 전해액 온도 $65^{\circ}C$, 유량 7 L/min였다. 분산분석 결과 전류밀도, 전해액 온도, 유량이 신뢰수준 95%에서 유의함을 확인하였다. 구형 부스바 사용으로 접촉 면적 및 접촉력 증가로 전류효율이 향상되어 폐산 폐기물 발생량을 감소시킬 수 있었다. 부스바의 형태(선 접점 부스바, 반구형 면 접점 부스바, 구형 면 접점 부스바)에 따른 전류효율의 영향과 관련한 비교 연구가 향후 진행될 예정이다.
