The Associated Factors of Health Examinations Behaviors among Some Elderly Persons in Urban and Rural Areas (일부 도시·농촌지역 고령자의 건강검진 수진행동에 관련된 요인)

Objectives: We investigated the factors related to health examination behaviors, sociodemographic aspects and lifestyles of elderly persons with different social backgrounds, and compared sexual and regional differences in urban and rural elderlies. Methods: The total study subjects(464 individuals) from urban(236) and rural areas(228), recruited by a stratified cluster random sampling were interviewed and examined about their sociodemographic profiles, daily lifestyles, subjective health status, conditions concerning use of medical resources, hearing acuity, visual acuity and ADL(activity of daily living), and whether they receive health examination or not. For statistical analysis, Chi-square test was used for sexual and regional comparisons among the groups who have been given a health examination and the one who have not. Results: In urban areas, the rate of having underwent health examination was 54.5% in men and 46.9% in women, and in rural areas, it was 59.8% in men and 42.7% in women, showing its higher rate in men than in women in both areas. For regional differences between the group who have taken a health examination and the one who have not, there was a significant difference in terms of age, family pattern, current job, monthly household income, owning a house, drinking status, eating habit, subjective health status, whether they have taken outpatient medical service for the recent 3 months or not, anxiety for the health, and IADL conditions according to whether the community is rural or urban. In multiple regressions, the influential factors on the health examination behaviors were selected such as having their own house, their family doctor, amnesia, urinary incontinence and chronic disease in urban districts. But in rural districts, the variables were selected such as having or not of their family doctor, urinary incontinence, anxiety for the health, educational level, their own house and chronic disease. Conclusions: It is suggested that the approach to the health examination of an older patient requires substantial consideration of highly variable individual sociodemographic characteristics involving regional attributes as well as their daily life styles, subjective health status, status of performing health examination, physical health status and ADL conditions.
The purpose of present study was to introduce a multimetric approach, so called the Index of Biological Integrity (IBI) as a tool for evaluations of water environments. This paper investigates the effects of technology collaboration between the main supplier and buyer on buyer's new product development under dynamic environment. Based on 428 Korean manufacturing firms, we conducted regression analysis. The technology collaboration between the main supplier and buyer is adopted as a independent variable and quality, cost and lead time performance of new product development projects are used as dependents variables. Environment dynamic is also used as a moderate variables. We found that the in general, technology collaboration is positively associated with the performance of buyers' new product development, but in the high degree of dynamic environment, technology collaboration is negatively associated with the performance of buyers' new product development unlike our expectation. Thus, we divide our sample into two groups; shipbuilding industry with the low degree of environment dynamic and electronic and IT device industry with the high degree of environment dynamic and conducted a post hoc analysis. As a result, in ship building industry, the technology collaboration is significant to improve NPD projects performance, while in electronic and IT device industry, the technology collaboration with a main supplier is not significant as well as coefficient is negative. In that, under the highly dynamic condition with the fast change of technology and products obsolescence the NPD collaboration with the main supplier does not works unlike a stable environment. This implies that the NPD attributes of buyer are different by their environmental factor and the fit between given environmental feature and the collaboration synergy is critical factor for improving the effect of NPD collaboration between supplier and buyer.
Conceptualization of store image have been suggested in the past by many marketing scholars. The dominant perspective about store image is treated as the results of a multi-attribute model. Store image is expressed as a function of the salient attributes of a particular store that are evaluated. Though, there is a little confusions about what elements compose the store image, most scholars agree that merchandise, service, atmosphere, physical facilities, comfort, and location are generally accepted elements as store image. A considerable researches support that shopping can provide both hedonic and utilitarian value. Hedonic shopping value reflects the value received from fantasy and emotive aspects of shopping experience, while utilitarian shopping value reflects the acquisition of products. These two types of shopping value can affect shopping satisfaction. This study examines the relationships among stores images(store atmosphere, salespeople services, facilities, product assortment, and store location), shopping values(utilitarian shopping value and hedonic shopping value), and shopping satisfaction based on discount stores (E-Mart, Home plus, and Lotte Mart). The author hypothesized that five store image components affect shopping values, and these shopping values affect shopping satisfaction. The author focused on the roles of perceived retail crowding between these relationships. Specifically, the author hypothesized that perceived retailing crowding moderated the relationship between shopping values and shopping satisfaction. The author also hypothesized the direct effect of perceived retail crowding on shopping satisfaction. This study aims to observe the impacts of entrepreneurship and market orientation of Seoul's business incubator (BI) CEO's on business performance, as well as investigate the moderating effects of BI supporting services. The main objectives of this study are as follows: first, to observe how the entrepreneurship of CEO's affects business performance; second, to observe how CEO's market orientation as a cultural factor attributes to business performance; third, to verify whether the utilization level of BI supporting services shows moderating effects between entrepreneurship and business performance, and finally to verify whether the utilization level of BI supporting services shows moderating effects between market orientation and business performance. Business incubators in Seoul registered with the Business Incubator Association were surveyed both online and offline to receive 127 responses out of 320 circulations. By filtering out insincere reponses, 117 were used for statistical analysis. Our results assert that the utilization level of physical BI supporting services does indeed strengthen the relation between initiative and financial performance. Also, it is interesting to note that the utilization level of physical BI supporting services supports the relation between risk sensitivity and financial performance. While risk sensitivity on its own shows no positive effect on business performance, a suitable utilization level of BI supporting services is likely to strengthen the connection. In addition, the utilization level of both physical and non-physical supporting services shows a moderating effect between initiative and non-financial performance. Based on the results above, risk-taking business incubator CEOs with initiative are likely to yield better financial performance in terms of increasing sales, if provided with various physical supporting services such as sufficient educational facilities including communal spaces and conference rooms.

The purpose of this study was to compare the effect of several reheating treatments (immersing the package into hot water, heating the soup in the pot and convection ovens after taking out of the opened package. heating the soup package in microwave) on the sensory characteristics of cook-chill and sous-vide spinach soup. Sensory evaluations were made on 5 sensory attributes by a 12-member panel using quantitative descriptive analysis(QDA). The fresh cooked spinach soup had a significantly(p<0.01) higher score in color than the reheated sous-vide one. The latter, however, had a significantly(p<0.05) higher score in taste than the former. Overall acceptability of the sous-vide spinach soup was not different from that of fresh cooked one, which supports the potential of the product in foodservice operation for the efficient management of meal plan. Reheating treatments didn't show any differences in taste, flavor, color, texture, appearance and overall acceptability. Therefore, any reheating treatment nay be used for cook-chill and sous-vide spinach soup.
The aim of this study was to determine quality characteristics of the curry sauce fortified using Curcuma aromatica Salisb. powder with and without fermentation. Here, the sensory, physicochemical, and antioxidant activity characteristics of the fortified curry sauces were measured. The L, b values of the samples containing the fermented C. aromatica Salisb. were significantly higher than those of the control (p<0.05). The total phenol content of the experimental groups was significantly higher than that of the control (p<0.05). There were no significant differences between the control and the sample fortified with fermented C. aromatica Salisb. (FC1) in the acceptance attributes of curry, spiciness and bitterness. Furthermore, the overall acceptance was similar enough to show no differences between the control and FC1. Thus, we can conclude that the curry sauce fortified using the fermented C. aromatica Salisb. by 1% was successfully developed in the competitive HMR market to promote antioxidant activity without decreasing the sensory characteristics.
Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) system, bi-direction power trading technology, enables drivers possessing electric vehicle to sell the spare electricity charged in the vehicle to power distribution company. The drivers gain profit by charging electricity in the day time of high electricity rate. In this regard, the government is preparing the policies of building and supporting V2G infrastructure and demanding the potential consumers' preference for the V2G system. This paper attempts to analyze the consumers' preference using the data from obtained a survey of randomly selected 1,000 individuals. To this end, choice experiment, an economic technique, is employed here. The attributes considered in the study are residual amount of electricity, electricity trading hours, required plug-in time, and price measured as an amount additional to current gasoline vehicle price. The multinomial logit model, which requires the assumption of 'independence of irrelevant alternatives', is applied but the assumption could not be satisfied in our data. Thus, we finally utilized nested logit model which does not require the assumption. All the parameter estimates in the utility function are statistically significant at the 10% level. The estimation results show that the marginal willingness to pay (MWTP) for one hour increase in electricity trading hours is estimated to be KRW 1,601,057. On the other hand, a one percent reduction in residual amount of electricity and one hour reduction in required plug-in time in V2G system are computed to be KRW -91,911 and -470,619, respectively. The findings can provide policy makers with useful information for decision-making about introducing and managing V2G system.
In order to characterize the quality of Doenjang, fermented Korean soybean paste, subjected to long-term aging, this study performed physico-chemical analyses and sensory evaluation according to aging period (from 1 to 9 years). Regarding the proximate composition of Doenjang according to aging period, moisture, crude protein, crude lipid, crude ash, and salt contents showed little differences among Doenjang samples. Amino-type nitrogen content was 1,046.7 mg% in the 1 year-aged sample, 990.9~996.9 mg% in the 2~5 year-aged samples, and 1,214.1~1,304.8 mg% in the samples fermented more than 5 years. . . The author analyzed the relationship between perceived retail crowding and shopping satisfaction using WarpPLS 3.0 which can analyze the non-linear relationship. Result indicates that perceived retail crowding affects directly shopping satisfaction and there is a non-linear relationship between them. Among five store image components, store atmosphere and salespeople services affect directly shopping satisfaction. The author describes about the managerial implications, limitations, and future research issues.
