  • Business Activities usually comprises various types of business processes. However, most companies don't standardize the constituent processes and accumulate them in formal models, so that they have their limitations for efficient process management and continuous process improvement. Recently, in order to overcome the obstacles, the companies increasingly tend to introduce a BPM (Business Process Management) system. The BPM system functions as modeling dispersed processes over the companies definitely, running the processes and improving them. In addition, the BPM plays a role as a platform in which diverse business applications can be developed. Generally, it is prerequisite to define business processes clearly to run them in the BPM. Unfortunately, companies don't arrange the processes systematically, so that they have difficulty in the introduction and implementation of the system. In this paper, we introduce a new type of a business application to support the clarification of business structure and processes in the companies and facilitate the introduction of the BPM system. The new system is a 'job manual system' developed on the BPM platform. A process model modeled in the job manual system can be transported directly to the BPM system in which the model becomes an executable status. The new system's properties including this feature enable to manage business processes efficiently and help users of the both system perform relevant tasks conveniently.

  • Recently, most of the information system use environment is changing to GUI environment based on windows and web. Most of the development tools for building such a GUI-based information system support object-oriented and event-driven programming concepts. However, there is still a lack of a development methodology that systematically supports event-based information system construction. From a business perspective, an information system is one that supports business processes efficiently and effectively to improve business performance. These business processes are composed of business activities which involve a series of business events. A business event is executed according to a business scenario. Therefore, it is necessary to grasp these events in the requirements analysis stage and to apply it on the system development methodology. However, information systems development methodology which systematically reflect the event processing concept still is insufficient. From this viewpoint, this paper proposes an event-driven scenario-based development methodology that can meet the recent development environment of information systems, and applies the proposed methodology to a small scale information system development case.

The key account management approach involves significant challenges for marketers to manage their strategically important customers and use this approach as a strategic weapon in their selling efforts. This study examines three categories of determinants of key account management performance including operational variables, organizational variables, and relational variables by exploring data from 100% export oriented readymade garments companies in Bangladesh. Research design, data, and methodology - Data were collected from 30 readymade garments manufacturers, considering a company as a unit of analysis. Using the data, instrument validity and reliability and, subsequently, data normality were examined using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) software to isolate the important determinants of key account management performance. Results - The instruments are reliable and the data are reasonably normal. Conclusion - The study explored and validated the adapted instruments of various operational, organizational, and relational antecedent factors of key account management performance, most of which were thus far ignored.
