This case study aims to explore how RDA PLA model affects the agri-SMEs' empowerment. As an agri-business management renovation program from main workshop it was conducted on March to December 2011 with agri-SMEs and extension officials nationwide by RDA. Especially, as a packaged action learning process in the model used participatory action research. This study collected data with participants observation, interviews, situational analysis and systematic review of discourse in qualitative method. For the validity and identifying empirical results, this study used statistic analysis as a mixed method. Further including various pedagogic methods and business coaching skills, this model was conducted from workshop in RDA, in turn, on-farm business coaching as follow-up, CoPs' activities, and local ATCs extension services by each actors. The dynamic process and effects of each process led some change for farmers' innovative knowledge, skills, attitude, practice and aspiration on their farm business. RDA PLA model development based on the previous practices and research, which provided a configurated picture in the holistic action learning process. In statistic research, this study focused on 279 farmers as respondents who had participated in the program. It shows that their income and benefits increased from their renovative practices on farm business. Following the sampling group, it was surveyed by four indicators - products, customer, quality and cost. The level of contribution of education on economic impact 15% is quoted from previous paper. Even in some limitations of public sector, RDA PLA model actively suggests the paradigm shift of agricultural HRD and development of alternative extension-service system.
In fisheries, as well as in other natural resource-based industries, there is difference between profit and rent. The former is a basic indicator for gauging the business performance of firms, while the latter is for the evaluation of the contribution of resources and industry to economic welfare. Put simply, resource economists are mainly concerned about rent, including pure resource rent and producer surplus (intra-marginal rent [IMR]). In other hand, business economists are mainly concerned about the profitability of the firms comprising the industry. In the academic literature, there are not always clear definitions of the profit and rent concepts and their use in actual analyses. This article will mainly discuss and clarify differences and similarities in profit and rent concepts. In the classical fisheries economic model with one-dimensional homogenous effort and a constant cost per unit of effort, no rent exists in open-access equilibrium. A simple change in this model, for example by introducing heterogeneous effort, opens it to the existence of rent, specifically IMR, at open-access equilibrium. We estimated resource rent and profit from the data using SNA(system of national accounts) and accounting data methods. RR(resource rent) is composed of value-added, compensation of employees, consumption of fixed capital and normal profit in SNA. RR(resource rent) is composed of EBT, Depreciation of fishing rights, financial costs of fishing rights and calculated interests on equity in accounting data methods. We found that the result of two methods is equal. RR is composed of excess profit, rent and interest expenses. In Korea, the magnitude of RR and profit is not different significantly.
The field of textiles and clothing is intimately involved in the business as a practical study. Many researchers consider how apply the theory to the business. Therefore, the study explores a process which builds an efficient relationship of industry-university focused on the example applied to an industry-university project of uniform design. The development process of the studyis composed of 4 levels: research and analysis, design development, production of samples, and manufacturing. In the process of research and analysis, it found out preference of design elements. These elements were reflected in design development to satisfy employee of wearing uniform. In the level of design development, 20 designs were deployed to use CAD system. Five deigns of them were produced to samples in 3 stages. Finally, to manufacturing was in charge of cooperative enterprises with clothing production equipment and university played a role of inspector. From theses research results, it has known that the field of uniform business is suitable for industry-university project because an enterprise with an order can get advice about clothing, a manufacturing company is able to complement a weaknessin the design, and university can have a chance applied the theory to the business. After this, the study will make a contribution to setting the direction of business to industry-university project.
According to the Fisheries Cooperative Law, the Fisheries Cooperative has made a substantial contribution to the development of Korea's fisheries industry amid the nation's rapid economic growth and drastic social changes since its establishment in April 1st 1962, It is, however, generally believed that the cooperative has made a poor performance in improving its business constitution. Therefore, the reform of its board of director system is one of the ways to strengthen the constitution. For the purpose of making the board of director system to operate rationally, this dissertation is divided into five chapters. Chapter I provides an overview of this study, such as research background and objectives. Chapter II focuses on the Fisheries Cooperative's board of director: its function, composition, and election. Chapter III analyzes the responses of the Fisheries cooperatives to questionnaires about the board of director system, and subsequently presents the causes and the meaning of the analysis results. Chapter IV deals with the various ways to improve the Fisheries Cooperative's board of director system, including director and cooperative governance. Finally, Chapter V draws a conclusion of this study. The independent function of the Cooperative's board of director and responsible directorship is one of the most important factors which can prevent the Cooperative from insolvency. Unlike the past, not only it has become difficult to keep the Cooperative's business under the government's support, but also the Cooperative itself is now facing a situation where the support from the government cannot be expected. This ist he reason why the Cooperative should manage itself autonomously, workout its organization, and respond to the current situation with a renovativemanagement and business strategy. Therefore, a rational operation of the board of director is urgently needed.

Purpose - Previous research points out that South Korean perceive their happiness less than Chinese and Japanese, although the three nations belong to the same Northeast Asia cultural sphere. This study aims to find out the reasons for the relatively low perception of happiness in South Korea and develop policy options to improve the relatively low perceived happiness in South Korea. Design/methodology/approach - For the analyses, analysis of variance (ANOVA) and regression analysis were performed based on the World Values Survey data (Wave 7). Findings - First, South Korean perceived happiness less than Chinese due to 'satisfaction with the financial situation of household' and 'in-group trust'. More specifically, although there was no difference in the impact of 'satisfaction with the financial situation of household' on perceived happiness in South Korea and China, South Korean evaluated 'satisfaction with the financial situation of household' lower than Chinese. In addition, the impact of 'in-group trust' on happiness in South Korea was less than that in China, where the level of 'in-group trust' was also lower in South Korea than China. Second, South Korean perceived happiness less than Japanese due to 'in-group trust'. Although South Korean had a higher level of 'in-group trust' than Japanese, the impact of 'in-group trust' on perceived happiness was less in South Korea than Japan. The contribution of 'in-group trust' to perceived happiness, calculated with the regression coefficient of 'in-group trust' multiplied by the mean of 'in-group trust', was evaluated lower in South Korea than Japan. Research implications or Originality - This study identifies the mechanism leading to low perception of happiness in South Korea, based on the World Values Survey data.
SK group has been a pioneer in overall brand management and, more recently, in CSR-imbedded brand management. SK vision of "improving itself to give greater happiness to all of its customers" and the symbol mark of "Wings of Happiness" are some good examples of integrating distinct brand identities of various member companies. After impressive growth and expansions into diverse business areas, SK group is ranked as the third largest company based on asset amounts according to the Fair Trade Commission of Korea, only after Samsung and Hyundai Motor groups. SK brand management can be analyzed, using the framework of 4 stages - 'infrastructure', 'planning', 'doing', and 'seeing' stages. In order to secure 'infrastructure' of brand management system, SK has invested huge resources to the 'SK BMS' (SK Brand Management System). At the 'planning' stage, the most important task of SK like other Korean business groups is perhaps to adopt a well-organized 'brand identity (BI) system' which may consolidate brand values of individual member companies. In actuality, SK BI consists of Customer Happiness located at the center and 3 other elements of Pride, Professionalism, and Customer-orientation. At the 'doing' stage, the slogan of 'OK! SK' and the logo of 'Wings of Happiness' have been placed at the core of the SK group brand building programs. SK adopts the principle of 'independent yet united', pinpointing that each member company independently works for its business performance but it is, at the same time, encouraged to integrate its capabilities for the SK group brand. In addition, SK has sought 'shared growth' with business partners for happiness for all the members in the society. 'Social Contribution Philosophy' based on SK value of 'creation of greater happiness' is again one of the most important guidelines for CSR (corporate social responsibility) at the doing stage. At the seeing stage, SK regularly evaluates its branding programs. SK has shown some very impressive achievements in brand management: (1) a core identity of 'Customer Happiness' participating member companies may share, (2) harmonious relationships between the group brand management office and brand management divisions of member companies, and (3) consistency-keeping in brand management over time. However, there remain two major challenges: (1) globalization of SK and (2) reinforcing sustainable superiority over not only Korean rivals but also global ones.
Purpose - As recently social contributions of firms are positioned as key strategic actions, it is demanding to review the effects of social contributions on overall corporate management. The research aims to effects of social contributions on social values and word of mouth in firm level and product level. Further roles of consumer identification with firm and product eco-friendliness are also analyzed. Research design, data, and methodology - The paper conducted a survey in which two scenarios are used for manipulating the degree of corporate social contributions. The survey sample consist of 165 undergraduate and graduate students in a university, located in Seoul. For analyzing data, analysis of variance is applied, in conjunction with analysis of moderating effects, through version 23 of SPSS statistical package. Results - In the firm level, social contributions by firms have a positive effect on social values of firms. Consumer identification showed a moderating role in the effect. Social value of the firm with passive social contribution perceived by respondents with a high degree of identification was higher than social value of the firm with active social contribution perceived by respondents with a low degree of identification. Corporate social value has positive effect on word-of-mouth of firms. In the product level, social contributions by firms has a positive effect on social values of product. Product eco-friendliness showed a moderating role in the effect. For eco-friendly product, social values are higher in the firm with active social contributions than in the firm with passive social contributions. However, for non eco-friendly product, the difference in social values between the two firms does not exist. Product social values has positive effect on intention for WOM of products. WOM of eco-friendly products with low social value showed no difference with WOM of non eco-friendly products with high social value. Conclusions - These results imply that firms should enhance consumer identification with firm in making social contributions for optimizing corporate social value and enhancing word-of-mouth(WOM). Managerial implications of the results suggest it would be more effective to improve social value of product by active social contributions for increasing word-of-mouth(WOM) of product.

Today, companies are supporting filed of culture and art forms as part of its social contribution activities to cultural support. Also, improvement of commercial interests and profit structure for enhancing the image of support taking shape at the same time, such as a strategic approach. Culture of companies in building confidence and enhance its operational activity is the image of the positive effect that charitable point of view social contribution projects and strategic point of view of culture support activity. Therefore, corporate culture in the study formed in supporting a variety of factors recognized the importance, culture support for business activity is the image of the factors which are behavior, social responsibility actions, corporate contributions to analyze the impact. Then the company's corporate image formed by supporting a culture and see if any influence on customer loyalty to carry out an empirical study. The conclusions of this study are as follows: first of all, corporate culture support activity is affecting contributions to corporate social responsibility actions and behavior of the corporate image, and image formed to consumers has shown to have a positive impact on customer loyalty. Second, corporate image formed by supporting a culture wac shown to have a positive impact on customer loyalty.
Purpose - The market orientation of a manufacturer is a very critical competitive advantage factor in the development of new markets and the sustainability and maintenance of existing ones, achieved through the design of customer-oriented products. This is recognized as a virtuous circle, in which firms grow by means of promoting quality management. However, though market-oriented activities are important in management and operations, they seem to be promoted mainly by large-scale enterprises rather than by small- and medium-scale firms, the latter having invested relatively few company resources. Furthermore, few studies and analyses have examined how market orientation relates to the expansion of quality programs within organizations or with business performance; the market orientation and customer-orientation concepts are mixed together when both are used in research. Given the current market situation in which the servitization of manufacturing firms is rapidly expanding, this study's analysis of the effect on market orientation of manufacturers is a significant contribution. From this perspective, this study has several objectives. First, is to analyze and suggest the relationship between market orientation and quality management activity for manufacturers, focusing on three sub-activities: products, process, and quality management activities. Second, it is intended to identify correlation between manufacturers' market oriented activity and their management performance and then to analyze how market orientation affects business performance. The results of a number of prior studies on the correlation between market orientation and management performance have indicated that market orientation does affect management performance. Third, this study also investigates whether any differences in the relationship among market orientation, quality management activity and business performance occur according to company size. The results are used to present operational suggestions for large- and small- and medium-size firms. Research design, data, methodology - This study seeks to analyze and identify the causal features of the organic relationship among market orientation, quality management, and management performance for Korean manufacturing companies using three years (2005-2007) of market orientation, quality management, and business performance data. Subsequently, structural equation modeling was used to analyze the causal features of related factors and it aims to identify the features of market orientation, quality management, and business performance. Results - The analysis examined how market orientation affected the quality management and management performance of 159 smalland medium-size companies. In particular, enterprise quality management was analyzed in relation to management performance with a focus on activities such as leadership, measurement and improvement, quality control, cost management, and process management. Conclusions - The result of the analysis show that market orientation significantly affected all of the quality management activities and that market orientation in turn significantly affected organizational performance. The result of analysis indicate that quality management activities have a significant effect on quality control and cost management.

In an adjustment of decision, centralization and decentrialization of enterprise are very import and I think the three problems, such as the extent of sphere (procurement, production and maketing), the face of affairs (planning, implementing and controlling), the final surge (decision making and action) can be accomplished by the business indicator accounting. IV. Structure of System and Disciplinary Approach for Decision: Decision can be classified into syncronized decision and continuous decision, and is closely connected with centralization and decentralization. In the course of systematizing, the sort of decision is classified into a man in charge of decision, and object of decision, conditions of decision, and an adjusting of decision. For it's object, it has an analogical thinking and an analytic subdivision about the target area. And it is premised on getting a scientific understanding. I think a disciplinary approach remains in solving these intricate problems. V. Conclusion: In this study I dealt with a specialization as a structure in management system and a theory that adjustment is a necessary process in decision making. For an adjustment of decision, exchanging informations and communication are necessary, and accounting is in charge of the process. And then the centralization and decentralization of decision should be connected in the way of adjustment of decision. In case of decentralization, the adjustment of decision is accomplished by the exchanging informations through feedback, and in case of centralization, by the all-round planning. And also I found that syncronized decision and decentralized decision are linked together. It is natural that the function of business indicator accounting is called for to render more services for it. Therefore, according to the extent of centralization and decentralization accounting to adjust the decision, can be various. Consequently, in relation to the structure of system. I think it is necessary to make a theoretical and empirical study of the business indicator accounting.
