Role of Information and Communication Technology and Women's Empowerment in Contraceptive Discontinuation in Indonesia

  • Objectives: This study investigated the role of information and communication technology and women's empowerment in contraceptive discontinuation in Indonesia. Methods: The study used data from the 2017 Indonesia Demographic and Health Survey and monthly contraceptive calendar data. A Gompertz proportional hazards model was used for analysis. Results: The 12-month contraceptive discontinuation rate was higher among women who had used the Internet in the past year, women who were mobile phone owners, and women who reported having fully participated in household decision-making than among their counterparts. These factors significantly impacted the risk of contraceptive discontinuation in Indonesia, even after controlling for contraceptive method, age, parity, contraceptive intent, education, work status, place of residence, and wealth status. Conclusions: After adjustment for the control variables, a higher risk of contraceptive discontinuation was associated with having used the Internet in the past year, owning a mobile phone, and not participating in household decision-making. Higher contraceptive discontinuation risk was also associated with using contraceptive pills, older age, lower parity, intent of spacing births, more education, current unemployment, and rural residence, and the risk was also significantly higher for those in the lowest household wealth quintile than for those in the fourth household wealth quintile. The association of contraceptive discontinuation with the use of modern information and communication technology and relatively disempowerment in household decision-making may imply that information regarding family planning and contraception should be conveyed via social media as part of setting up an eHealth system. This must include a strong communication strategy to empower and educate women in contraceptive decision-making.

농촌테마공원 실태분석을 통한 창원단감테마공원 활성화 방안 (A Study on the Revitalization Plan of Changwon Persimmon Theme Park by Analyzing the Actual Condition of Rural Theme Park)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the actual condition of the already established rural theme park, draw the weak and strong points, and come up with an efficient performance plan for Changwon Persimmon Theme Park through the benchmarking of the best overseas case. According to the analysis, it is necessary to introduce a facility and a program for family customers as a plan for promoting Changwon Persimmon Theme Park. It is required to secure safety through public operation and management, improve scalability of the facility through the establishment of multi-functional complex facility, and come up with a plan for operating a special program associated with local resources. Therefore, this study drew three activation factors: the establishment of operation and management system, the development of operation contents by facility, and the establishment of operation in each area. First, to establish the operation and management system, it is necessary to classify the organization of the theme park into the operation business area and into operation & management area by job function. Secondly, it is necessary to establish a special program in consideration of space and facility, suggest a differentiated plan for operation contents, and create a facility operation plan and program for Changwon Persimmon Theme Park. Lastly, to operate and manage Changwon Persimmon Theme Park smoothly, it is necessary to set the theme park space as open collaboration space which the local residents can share and participate in by avoiding the conventional administration-based business performance and operation. This study suggested the plan for establishing an operation and management system for Changwon Persimmon Theme Park and its operation, the establishment of a special program, a business performance strategy, and the use of internal and external spaces of the theme park.

  • 후발카드사들의 시장 확대 전략, 은행계 카드사의 약진 등 점차 치열해지는 경쟁 구도에 대비하기 위해 S카드사는 과거와 같이 단순 신용카드 상품이나 '고수익 고위험'의 대출서비스에 주력하는 수익모델로는 향후 생존하기 어렵다는 현실을 인식하고 신용판매 활동의 내실 강화를 통해 지속적으로 수익을 창출할 수 있는 방안을 강구하였는데 이것이 바로 가맹점 업종분류체계 정비를 통한 고객세분화이다. 즉, 기존의 수수료율 책정기준으로 만들어진 가맹점 업종분류체계를 마케팅 목적으로 재편하고 새로운 업종분류체계에 맞춰 고객의 정확한 카드 사용실적을 파악한 후 고객을 세분화하는 개념으로, 가맹점과 고객의 다양한 니즈를 연계 관리함으로써 고객에게는 맞춤 정보 및 오퍼를 제공하고, 가맹점과의 긴밀한 협력관계를 통해 가맹점 매출을 증대하며, 이로 인해 자사의 신용판매를 확대하고 수익을 극대화하는 고객, 가맹점, 자사 상호간의 Win-Win-Win 관계 형성을 목표로 하였다. 본 연구에서는 S카드사가 어떠한 방식으로 기존의 업종분류체계를 정비하여 고객세분화를 수행하였으며, 어떻게 활용하고 있는가를 살펴봄으로써 효과적인 고객세분화에 기반한 마케팅 전략수립 의 방향을 제시하고자 한다.

기업활용수준을 반영한 기술경영 연구방법론 교과도출을 위한 사전연구 (A Preliminary Study for Deriving Subjects of MOT Method Based on the Utilization Status in Korea Enterprises)

  • This study focus on what methods of MOT are needed and utilized to solve a technical problem in the MOT leading company. We first classified the MOT methods by project life cycle and R&D job quality based on the several discussion with working group. In order to study, the survey was carried out by 168 experts working on MOT practices. Our main research findings are as follows. The level of utilized MOT methods was above average because MOT sector was beginning to represent an increasing share of total R&D business. But the satisfaction level on the MOT majors was below average. The more utilized MOT methods in practices were 'environment analysis and opportunity research,' 'business feasibility,' 'roadmapping,' 'portfolio,' 'technology tree,' 'scheduling,' 'risk management,' 'six sigma,' 'design of experiment,' 'quality control,' 'cost analysis' etc. And the subjects of product realization process were also needed to MOT practice such as 'design for reliability,' 'design for cost,' 'design for performance,' 'design for safety' deeply involved to product quality. Finally, the capability requested to University students were 'problem define and solving,' 'technology planning and strategy,' 'creative thinking.'

  • HRD 프로페셔널은 계획, 조직 개발, 조직 디자인 등과 같은 전략적인 경영 협력 활동을 통해 생산성의 향상을 도모한다. 특정한 개입 방안만을 제시하는 것은 조직의 기본적인 시스템을 변화시키거나 향상시킬 수 없으므로 시스템적 관점을 지향하는 것은 전략 개발에 중요하다. 조직을 시스템적으로 운영하기 위해 HRD 프로페셔널은 문제해결에 있어서의 조직 내 저항을 잘 다룰 뿐만 아니라 변화관련당사자와의 협업을 통해 제시된 문제해결의 효과를 양적으로 측정할 수 있는 방법을 밝힐 수 있어야한다. 또한 HRD 프로페셔널은 경영 목표들간의 일치 혹은 통일성, 프로세스 디자인, 프로세스 운영에서 핵심적인 역할을 할 필요가 있다. 성과에 대한 정책과 실행을 지역의 문화적 특성을 고려하여 기획하는 것 역시 중요한 과제 중의 하나이다.

블록체인 혁신성 연구 (A Study for the Innovativeness of Blockchain)

  • 2008년 사토시 나카모토(Satoshi Nakamoto)가 중앙 금융기관 없이 개인과 개인 간의 온라인 지불을 가능하게 하기 위하여 P2P(peer to peer) 네트워크를 이용한 이중지불 문제의 해결을 포함한 '비트코인(Bitcoin)'이라는 개인 간 전자화폐 시스템을 제안한 이후 블록체인은 4차 산업혁명에서 산업혁명 사이클 전주기에 영향을 미치는 범용기술로서 자리를 잡아가고 있다. 본 연구에서는 블록체인이 이러한 범용기술로서의 급격한 확산과 활용이 혁신이론 관점에서 어떠한 혁신성을 가지고 있는지를 분석하였다. 분석결과 블록체인은 '물리적 기술'의 특성뿐만 아니라 인간의 사회적 상호작용을 위한 '사회적 기술'로서의 특성을 가지고 있어 기술혁신과 사회혁신을 동시에 수반하는 혁신성을 가지고 있었다. 블록체인의 다양한 혁신성에 대한 본 연구의 접근은 블록체인의 이해를 높이고 향후 정책적 의사결정에 유용성을 제공할 것으로 기대된다.

의료시설 사업계획서의 건축사업비 산정에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Calculation of Construction Project Cost of Healthcare Facility Business Plan)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to provide an effective construction project cost estimation tool for preparing a business plan of healthcare facilities which can be practically used for development projects. Methods: In order to provide a tool for calculating construction project costs, this study analyzed the Building and Related Laws, the Building Technology Promotion Laws, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport notifications and directives, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy notifications, the detailed guidelines of the Ministry of Strategy and Finance, the Building Service Industry Promotion Acts, various certification standards, actual project budget calculation cases, etc. with advices from related experts. Results: 1) Construction cost is classified into construction costs, architectural design costs, supervision costs, incidental costs, and each sub-element. In particular, since there are many incidental cost items, essential items to be reviewed during planning are derived and costs are calculated according to appropriate consideration criteria. 2) Criteria for Payment calculation mainly applies the construction cost rate method or the actual cost fixed amount method in consideration of the characteristics and scope of work. Implications: There are many calculation factors that need to be applied to the construction project cost. Therefore, it is necessary to organize the calculation process more clearly.

기술이전 및 사업화 활성화를 위한 전략 도출 프레임워크 - R&BD 효율성 평가를 기반으로 - (The Framework for the Strategy of Research & Business Development)

  • Purpose: This paper developed the framework for extracting strategies of research and business development (R&BD) based on the data envelopment analysis(DEA). Methods: DEA has been widely utilized in evaluating R&D efficiency. Even though, technology transfer and commercialization has been regarded as the important factors for practical R&D efficiency evaluation, most research have evaluated R&D efficiency by just using the DEA outputs such as the number of patents and papers. The technology transfer, commercialization and relations among costs and generated technology and commercialization are needed to be considered for more practical R&D efficiency evaluation. Thus, this research addressed a method on how to incorporate the commercialization factors into the R&DB efficiency evaluation, and improve the efficiency strategically in terms of R&D and B&D. To achieve this, this research utilized a two-stage network DEA model for R&BD efficiency evaluation. Results: The proposed framework was applied to the 15 public research institutes and the 34 universities for validation. R&BD efficiency for the 15 public research institutes and the 34 universities was evaluated, and the differentiated improvement strategies for the inefficient DMUs to improve their efficient were proposed. Conclusion: The R&BD efficiency would be effectively analyzed based on two-stage network DEA. It would be utilized for the effective strategy planning for cultivating R&BD.

편의점 PB상품의 차별화 전략에 대한 연구: BGF 리테일을 중심으로 (Study on Differentiation Strategies of Private Brand Product in Convenience Store: Focused on BGF Retail)

  • Purpose - PB products at convenience stores take up about 20% of all products, and strategies for differentiation from other companies and brand image building are very important. This study would investigate the strategy for differentiating PB products and successful brand building strategy, focusing on BGF Retail that is operating 'CU', the leader in the convenience store industry in Korea. Research design, data, and methodology - This study would attempt to make an exploratory approach to PB products limited to those in convenience stores. As a research subject, this study chose BGF Retail, the operator of CU, which is the leader in the convenience store industry in Korea and chose the case study method in order to examine the strategy for differentiating PB products in convenience stores more in depth. For this purpose, this study collected materials such as papers, newspaper articles and various reports on convenience store-related PB products and conducted an in-depth study including more practical contents through an interview with CU workers. Results - CU pursued the diversity of PB products and has had the diversity of products, more than 120 kinds. It founded a product research institute and has been in charge of the differentiation strategy from planning products to launching them. Changing the target layer of consumers to those in middle age of the 40s-50s, it succeeded in the strategy expanding the consumer class. In the long run, despite it changed the name of the company, it has built a successful image, and both revenue and operating profit have continuously grown up. Conclusions - In results, CU has reset the changing main target population, and the product research institute succeeded in the innovation of products, reflecting new trends the customers want. Through this study, the practical implications could be provided for competitors.

서비스 실행 관점에서의 서비스 비즈니스에 대한 학술적 연구 대상 영역의 탐색 (An Exploration on the Academic Research Areas for Service Business Area in the Perspective of Service Business Implementation)

  • 서비스 비즈니스 분야는 프로세스나 상품 유형 등에 있어서 다양하여 상호 의사소통이나 학습의 공유가 중요한데도 불구하고, 그동안 학술적이고 체계적인 연구가 미흡하였다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 서비스의 과학적 접근을 위한 연구 이슈를 검토하고 분류하는 탐색적 연구를 시도하였다. 본 연구에서는 서비스 연구 영역을 체계적인 프레임워크에 따라 제시한 Ostrom 등의 최근 연구에 기반하여, 서비스 혁신의 관점에서 서비스 실행의 영역의 '서비스 브랜딩 및 판매', '공동 창조를 통한 서비스 경험 향상', 그리고 '서비스 가치의 측정과 최적화'를 대상으로 하며, 공통 주제인 '서비스 확산을 위한 기술적용' 영역을 포함한 주제영역을 대상으로 각 분야별로 중요한 연구 실적, 향후 연구 동향, 연구 사례를 소개하였으며, 앞으로 연구가 활성화되어야 이슈 등을 제시하였다.
