Underpricing signifies that IPO share prices do not reflect the fundamental value of the listed company. Corporate governance plays an essential role in IPOs where the board of directors, the independent board of directors, and the board of supervisors are significant elements of accurate share pricing. The study investigates the underpricing phenomena and short-term performance of the IPO companies during the listing process in the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (HOSE). The work outcomes illustrate the role of the corporate organizational structure in the period of the IPO process that may attract potential investors. The hypothesis testing is conducted with a multiple regression model including 100 observations from enterprises doing IPO listed on HOSE. The study results generate signals for the investors and regulators that the board of directors holds a strong negative influence on the underpricing process. Secondly, the level of the independent board of directors and stock exchange in itself has no significant impact on the underpricing process. Underpricing is one of the many anomalies of the stock exchanges that provide wrong signals for the market participants. Identifying stock prices that reflect their intrinsic value is an ongoing debate among scholars, investors, and other market participants.

Recently, the role of IT service providers has been enlarged from managing a single function or system to reconstructing entire information management processes in new ways to contribute to shareholder value across the enterprise. This movement toward extensive and complex outsourcing agreements has been driven by the assumption that outsourcing information technology functions is a reliable approach to maximizing resource productivity. Hiring external IT service providers to manage part or all of its information-related services helps a firm focus on its core business and provides better services to its clients, thus obtaining sustainable competitive advantage. This practice of focusing on the strategic aspect of outsourcing is referred to as strategic sourcing where the focus is capability sourcing, not procurement. Given the importance of the strategic outsourcing, however, to our knowledge, there is little empirical research on the relationship between the strategic outsourcing orientation and outsourcing performance. Moreover, there is little research on the factor that makes the strategic outsourcing effective. This study is designed to investigate the relationship between strategic IT outsourcing orientation and IT outsourcing performance and the process through which strategic IT outsourcing orientation influences outsourcing performance, Based on the framework of strategic orientation-performance and core competence based management, this study first identifies core competency orientation as a proper strategic orientation pertinent to IT outsourcing and IT outsourcing process management capability as the mediator to affect IT outsourcing performance. The proposed research model is then tested with a sample of 200 firms. The findings of this study may contribute to the literature in two ways. First, it draws on the strategic orientation - performance framework in developing its research model so that it can provide a new perspective to the well studied phenomena. This perspective allows practitioners and researchers to look at outsourcing from an angle that emphasizes the strategic decision making to outsource its IT functions. Second, by separating the concept of strategic orientation and outsourcing process management capability, this study provides practices with insight into how the strategic orientation can work effectively to achieve an expected result. In addition, the current study provides a basis for future studies that examine the factors affecting IT outsourcing performance with more controllable factors such as IT outsourcing process management capability rather than external hard-to-control factors including trust and relationship management. This study investigates the major factors that determine IT outsourcing success. Based on strategic orientation and core competency theories, we develop the proposed research model to investigate the relationship between core competency orientation and IT outsourcing performance and the mediating role of IT outsourcing process management capability on IT outsourcing performance. The model consists of two independent variables (core-competency-orientation and IT outsourcing process management capability), and two dependent variables (outsourced task complexity and IT outsourcing performance). Comprehensive data collection was conducted through an outsourcing association. The survey data were analyzed using a structural analysis method. IT outsourcing process management capability was found to mediate the effect of core competency orientation on both outsourced task complexity and IT outsourcing performance. Further analysis and findings are discussed.

This study examined the effects of outside directors and CEO duality on acquisition strategies and performance of Korean firms in high-technology industry. Based on the resource dependence theory, we focused on the service and resource-dependence roles from board of directors in the process of decision-making of acquisition strategies. In addition, CEO opportunism behavior rises when CEO serves as chairperson of board and induces the negative effects on acquisition performance. Specifically, we investigated the interaction effects between outside directors ratio and CEO duality. For the period of 2004 to 2012, 246 acquisitions of Korean firms in high-technology industry were analyzed to test our intended hypotheses. Our results indicate that there exist positive relationship between outside director ratio and acquisition performance for Korean high-technology firms. Negative associations prevail between CEO duality and performance consequences of acquisitions. While outside director ratio has a positive effect on acquisition performance when there is a presence of CEO duality, negative effect prevail for outside director ratio on acquisition performance in the absence of CEO duality position to hold our interaction hypothesis. The favor of dual structure can be explained with implications referring to unity of command and strong leadership driven from CEO duality that enhances the resource dependence roles of board of directors in the context of high-technology industry acquisition behaviors rendered by Korean firms.

This paper investigates how the weights of performance measures vary depending on corporate life cycle, such as birth, growth, maturity, revival, and decline. Balanced Scorecard performance measures are employed for this investigation. Balanced Scorecard has been widely used for measuring a corporate Performance by incorporating financial and non-financial measures simultaneously. Because these performance measures are related to the compensation and promotion of employees, research of weights of performance measures would be instrumental. Questionnaires from 218 companies are analyzed. Depending on the corporate life cycle, our survey results demonstrate that the weights of the business Performance measures differ In the four Perspectives - financial. customer, Internal Process, and learning/growth. Our results can be used for enhancing the Duality of performance measurement systems.
With the growing importance of accountability, it is getting necessary to test the impact of marketing expenditure on marketing performance. Including recent ROM, we can find a few researches about marketing accountability. But there are a few problems about definitions and metric of marketing expenditure and marketing performance. Therefore, by defining and analyzing the impact of marketing expenditure on marketing performance, we are going to set the classification scheme of marketing expenditure and marketing performance. Based on research findings, new definitions and metrics are proposed as follows. First, we suggest the classification scheme of marketing expenditure. Marketing expenditure is defined as expense accounts in the balance sheet for doing marketing tasks. Marketing expenditures includes many accounts, for example, marketing research, advertising, sales promotion, foreign market development, physical distribution, after services. Among these marketing investment, advertising expenses have a positive effect on marketing performance. Second, we suggest the classification scheme of marketing performance. Already, marketing performance has been defined as financial metrics, customer metrics, market metrics, and corporate social responsibility. But, in this study, we find that the process model is not relevant for explaining association between the performance metrics. The process model is a virtuous cycle: "customer metrics→market metrics→financial metrics→firm valuation metrics." But, in this study, it is not supported or a little significant association between these metrics. Based on these results, we suggest the balance model or flower model as the classification scheme of marketing performance.
Purpose: This study would measure the users'perceived overall quality level of A automobile Company, which has leading market power in the domestic automobile market and analyze the causal relationships in the quality value process Model to quality capability, customer value and loyalty based on that. Especially, this study would analyze the relative impacts of the users'perceived risks appearing in the quality value process model of the formation of Quality Factors(QF), Customer Value(CV), and Customer Loyalty(CL) and analyze the moderating effect of the causal relationships among the components. Methods: For an analysis of causal relationships connected to QF, CV, and CL of the customers who purchased Auto manufacturer A's automobile users, 179 users who used within 3 years were utilized as samples for the analysis. As for QF, based on the Garvin(1988), the QF of automobiles were redesigned. For a structural equation analysis of the entire research model, the PLS(S(Partial Least Square) model was utilized. Results: As a result of an analysis, R2 of CV and CL was 0.652 for CV and 0.664 for CL, which was a very stable Goodness of fit. As a result of an analysis of the hypotheses of QF and CV, automobile performance, conformance, aesthetics, serviceability, and durability. In addition, it turned out that the perceived risk had a moderating effect on convenience, service availability, and perceived quality. Conclusion: This study found that the perceived quality risk appearing among automobile users had negative effects on the quality value process model to QF, CV and CL. In contrast, there were factors not affecting the users'quality value process in spite of the perceived risk. These factors can suggest important managerial implications in that they can be utilized as Auto manufacturer A's market-dominant strengths.
Purpose: The purpose of a role model is to find a master or expert who conduct their business effectively and work as a model that helps staff in charge to conduct their works effectively. This process is an effort to find out the deviation of work performance capability among staffs in charge and settle the work process to be optimized to practical business, the standardization of protocol. Materials and Methods: Seoul Asan medical center nuclear department developed 6~7 role modeling items and has applied it to work. I report two operation improvement cases we had applied a role model to Seoul ASAN medical center. Result: By comparison with none application of a role model, we could improve operation efficiency. Conclusion: The main purpose of role modeling is to make the employees who do the business in their charge effectively as a role model and contribute to work performance of employees who are lack of work performance although they performed their works hard. Our team is going to develop role model items continuously and to make a use of it to practical work then improve work performance. We regard it as a useful tool to performance improvement. The performance improvement by using a role model was very useful instrument.
The process capability indices have been widely used to measure process capability and performance. In this paper, we proposed a new process capability index which is based on an actual dollar loss by defects. The new index is similar to the Taguchi's loss function and fully incorporates the distribution of quality attribute in a process. The strength of the index is to apply itself to non-normal or asymmetric distributions. Numerical examples were presented to show superiority of the new index against $C_p$, $C_{pk}$, and $C_{pm}$ which are the most widely used process capability indices.

This study is intended to look into the structural relationships between project manager's creative thinking, entrepreneurship, and project performance. To achieve this, research model and hypothesis were established to carry out statistical analysis based on the results of an empirical sample survey. The findings showed that project manager's creative thinking didn't improve project satisfaction directly, but it improved project satisfaction through the mediating effects of project manager's entrepreneurship. While it had a direct effect on perceived project performance, project manager's entrepreneurship was not mediated in this process. This suggests that even if project managers have a high expertise, thinking skill and motivation as creative thinking in working on the project, they have the limitation in leading to customer satisfaction from a personal perspective.
Although the importance of the service sector has been highlighted recently, service innovation remain under-researched by scholars. Innovation research based on manufacturing sector suggests that innovation strategy varies according to the objectives of innovation and has a positive influence on firm performance. To investigate the path that links the objectives of innovation, innovation strategy used and firm performance, this study develops a conceptual model of service innovation from the literature and tests the Structural Equation Model(SEM) using STEPI (Korea's Science and Technology Policy Institute) data. We could identify the causal relationships both between the objectives of innovation and innovation strategy and between innovation strategy and firm performance in service as in manufacturing, but we also found that the results of the empirical study for the service industry, in particular, the empirical results on the relationship between the aims of innovation and innovation strategy used, are quite different from those for manufacturing.
