A Study on Measurement Selection Algorithm for Power System State Estimation under the consideration of Dummy Buses (DUMMY 모선을 고려한 상태추정 측정점선정 알고리즘에 관한 연구)

  • This paper presents an improved algorithm of optimal measurement system design with a reliability evaluation method for large power system. The proposed algorithm is developed to consider the dummy bus and to achieve highest accuracy of the state estimator as well with the limited Investment cost. The dummy bus in the power system is impossible to install measurement meter, while real and reactive power measurement values are exactly zero. Thus, the effect on these dummy bus measurements is considered in the proposed algorithm. On the other hand, P/C model is developed by taking advantage of the matrix sparsity. The improved program is successfully tested for KEPCO system with PSS/E lineflow calculated data package.

Wideband Suppression of Radiated Emissions from a Power Bus in High-Speed Printed Circuit Boards

  • We present experimental demonstrations of electromagnetic bandgap (EBG) structures for the wideband suppression of radiated emissions from a power bus in high-speed printed circuit boards (PCBs). In most of the PCB designs, a parallel plate waveguide (PPW) structure is employed for a power bus. This structure significantly produces the wideband-radiated emissions resulting from parallel plate modes. To suppress the parallel plate modes in the wideband frequency range, the power buses based on the electromagnetic bandgap structure with a defected ground structure (DGS) are presented. DGSs are applied to a metal plane that is connected to a rectangular EBG patch by using a via structure. The use of the DGS increases the characteristic impedance value of a unit cell, thereby substantially improving the suppression bandwidth of the radiated emissions. It is experimentally demonstrated that the DGS-EBG structure significantly mitigates the radiated emissions over the frequency range of 0.5 GHz to 2 GHz as compared to the PPW.

A Study on the Development of Aluminum Seat Frame for Commercial Bus (상용 버스용 알루미늄 시트 프레임의 개발에 관한 연구)

  • This study presents the development of a new aluminum seat frame for the commercial bus. Back moment and seat belt anchorage analysis of the conventional steel seat frame was conducted as a base model. Effective aluminum section dimensions for aluminum pipe were calculated from equivalent stiffness and equivalent weight study. Back moment and seat belt anchorage strength with the developed aluminum seat frame were compared to those of the base model. Additionally, to pass the fatigue test, shape modification of side frame assembly was conducted. From this study we could reduce the weight of seat frame more than 5 kg. And the current analysis model and procedure can provide useful informations in designing a new commercial car seat and can reduce the overall design cost and time.

  • Copper is widely used in electric wire, cable, conductor in electric devices. As the demand for electric power is increasing rapidly, electric power devices are getting amazingly bigger and complicated. The using of light-weight conductor can reduce the size and making cost of the electric devices. In high-frequency application, Electric current in a conductor tends to shift to the surface of the conductor, resulting in an uneven current distribution in the inner conductor. In the extreme case the current may essentially concentrate in the 'skin' of the inner conductor as a surface current. In high frequency application, therefore, inner area of copper conductor may replace with aluminum conductor, which reduces the weight of conductor. This paper describes the manufacture and evaluation of composite conductors made of copper and aluminum. The optimum extruding ratio was 16 at $300^{\circ}C$. The electrical resistance of manufactured composite bus bar was $57{\mu}{\Omega}$ at DC and $49.5{\mu}\{Omega}$ at 300Hz.

  • The automobile networks consist of the communication bus systems which become independent and heterogeneous each other. Most often, the CAN buses are implemented in a car in order to connect all the electronic control units in various ways. Thus, some gateways are necessary for exchanging the useful information between electronic control units on the buses. The automobile body networks group is divided into two kinds on a large scale, namely the low-speed bus and the high-speed bus. To interchange messages between the two, a CAN signal gateway is designed and implemented in a miniature scale. A network analyzer (called "Vehicle spy") and an oscilloscope monitor network situation to confirm the due operation of CAN signal gateway. The efficiency of the designed gateway is evaluated. The more message thread increased, the more efficiency decreased.

Analysis of the battery charging and discharging system for spacecrafts (인공위성용 총방전 시스템의 해석)

  • A spacecraft power system can be divided into two types : DET system(Direct Energy Transfer system) and PPT system(Peak Power Tracking system). In a DET system employing the regulated bus voltage control method, the battery charger and discharger are widely used for the bus voltage regulation. The battery charger has two different modes of operation. One is the bus voltage regulation mode and the other is the charge current regulation mode. The battery discharger is employed to provide the power when the spacecraft is in the earth's shadow or the sun is eclipsed. The operating mode, charging or discharging, is selected by a power control circuit. In this paper, small-signal dynamic characteristics of battery charging and discharging system are analyzed to facilitate design of control loop for optimum performance. Control loop designs in various operating modes are discussed. Anaylses are verified through experiments.

  • A fault-tolerant system should have a high availability and high reliability to maintain a given system stable against sudden faults in the system. In this paper, we propose a new types of fault tolerant system based on a fault detection bus. The fault detection bus is designed and implemented to detect any errors by comparing event-output signals from two processor modules. It employs the hot standby sparing fault detection method〔1〕 to provide continuity of services even if a system fault occurs. The prototype fault tolerant system is currently being implemented on a management system with two processor modules.

  • 본 논문에서 는 64채널 DWDM(Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing)용 광원(Optical Source)을 구현하고, 이를 효율적으로 제어하기 위하여 I$^2$C Bus interface를 이용한 제어기를 설계하였다. 채널은 독립적으로 동작될 수 있도록 각각 Laser Diode 구동 회로와 마이크로프로세서, A/D 및 D/A 컨버터로 구성하였으며, 또한 각 채널들은 하나의 I$^2$C Bus를 통해 주 제어기와 연결된다 주 제어기는 RS-232 및 LAN을 통해 틀어오는 사용자의 명령을 I$^2$C Bus를 이용하여 각 채널에 전달하고, 채널로부터 들어오는 정보를 사용자에게 제공한다. RS-232C 및 LAN을 통한 PC와의 전송속도는 57600BPS로 구현하였다.

  • 근래에는 대부분의 지방자치단체에서 버스정보시스템을 운영하여 버스 고객에게 다양한 정보를 제공한다. 예를 들어, 기다리는 버스의 현재 위치를 알려주는 서비스가 버스정보시스템이 제공하는 대표적인 서비스 중 하나이다. 버스정보시스템은 버스의 현재 위치를 감지하는 다양한 센서들, 센서 데이터를 수집하는 통신시스템, 수집한 데이터를 분석하여 정보를 추출하는 서버시스템 등으로 구성되며, 구축비용이 어마어마하다. 본 저자는 버스정보시스템의 구축비용을 획기적으로 절약하는 방법으로 스마트폰을 이용하는 방법을 이미 제안한 바 있다. 본 논문은 스마트폰 기반의 버스정보시스템의 서버의 구성요소 중 고객이 승차하기를 원하는 버스 노선을 알아내는 버스노선 추천 시스템을 설계한다.
