북극해 해빙 탐지를 위한 Sentinel-1 HV자료의 방사보정 연구 (A Study on the Radiometric Correction of Sentinel-1 HV Data for Arctic Sea Ice Detection)

  • 최근 북극항로와 온난화 등의 영향으로 인해 북극해에 대한 활발한 연구가 진행되고 있다. 기존에 수동 마이크로파 복사계를 이용하여 북극해 해빙의 정량적 면적을 산출하는 연구는 진행되어 왔으나, 보다 고해상도로 해빙의 가장자리에서 발생하는 융해 및 표면 거칠기 변화에 대한 연구는 잘 이루어지지 않았다. 또한, 최근 Sentinel1-A/B자료가 무료로 배포되고, 특히 북극해 영역에 대한 수많은 자료들이 짧은 기간 동안 생산 및 제공되고 있기에, 이러한 대용량 자료들을 모자익(mosaic)하여 북극해 전체에 대한 고해상도 해빙정보 이용이 가능하게 되었다. 그러나 Sentienl-1A/B의 광역관측(Extended Wide, EW)모드 자료를 효과적으로 사용하기 위해서는 보다 정확한 방사보정이 수행되어야 한다. 이를 위해 이중편파 Sentinel-1A/B 자료에 나타나는 thermal noise와 scalloping 효과를 자동적으로 보정할 수 있는 방사보정 기법을 개발하였으며, 나아가 방사보정 된 이중편파 SAR자료를 이용할 경우 해빙과 open-water를 보다 더 잘 구분할 수 있음을 확인하였다.

Sol-Gel법에 의한 Li2O-Al2O3-SiO2계 괴상겔 및 결정화유리의 합성 (Synthesis of Monolithic Gel to Bulk glass-Ceramic in Multicomponent Li2O-Al2O3-SiO2 System)

  • The purpose of this investigation was to prepare multicomponent monolithic Li-Al-Si gels of composition(mol%) 16.67 Li2O-16.67 Al2O3-66.67 SiO2 and to convert the gels to monolithic glass-ceramic at low temperature without melting. The hydrolysis, DTA, TGA, TMA, SEM, pore distribution, density and the activation energy for crystallization of the glass-ceramic formation with rawmaterials of which tetraethl orhosilicate of networkforming cation(Si) is partially hydrolyzed, aluminum isoproxide and lithium methoxide prepared by Li-metal react with methanol were studied. The results were as follows : 1) Monolithic gels which were added with additional water, resulting in a total water content 2.5 to 3.0 times the stoichiometric amount required to fully hydrolyze the alkoxides. 2) Specimens were dried to form crylinders 60mm in length and 40mm in diameter in about 800 hrs at 5$0^{\circ}C$. 3) $\beta$-eucryptite crystals and $\beta$-spodumene crystals were detected in samples heated above 75$0^{\circ}C$. 4) Within the temperature and range of 25-50$0^{\circ}C$ and 1,00$0^{\circ}C$ the thermal expansion coefficient for crystallized samples were shown as 2.6-5.7$\times$10-7/$^{\circ}C$ and 7.4-12.5$\times$10-7/$^{\circ}C$, respectively. 5) The activation energy for the crystal growth was 11.01kcal/mol at 794$^{\circ}C$ to 85$0^{\circ}C$.

발포공정을 이용한 경량의 연질 세라믹 보온단열재의 제조 (Preparation of Flexible and Light Thermal Insulating Ceramic Composites Using Foaming Technology)

  • 본 연구는 유기계 보온단열재의 장점인 경량성과 연질특성을 갖는 무기계 보온단열재의 제조를 위한 새로운 개념의 무기질 저온 발포 공정에 관한 것이다. 새로운 무기질 발포 공정은 섬유상인 해포석 및 규산알루미늄으로 하여금 발포체의 골격을 형성토록 하고, 저온에서 기체 발생이 가능한 발포제를 사용하여 무기질 섬유상 골격체가 팽창되어 공동을 형성하게 하며, 이 형성된 공동 속에 낮은 열전도도를 갖는 무기질 다포체인 팽창진주암을 채우는 것이다. 총괄적으로 무기질 재료를 고온 용융함이 없이 저온에서 무기질 발포체의 제조가 가능하게 된다. 이를 위해서 섬유상인 해포석의 해섬처리과정, 발포를 위한 섬유상 슬러리의 열처리공정 등 다양한 준비공정이 필요하며, 열처리 전 슬러리의 최적 조성물 조건이 요구된다. 제조된 발포체는 경량, 연질의 보온단열재로서의 겉보기 밀도, 내력 강도, 굽힘강도, 고내열성 등의 물성을 보여주었다.

SHS법에 의한 $\textrm{ZrB}_2$ 합성과 반응소결된 $\textrm{ZrB}_2$-ZrC계 복합체의 제조 (Fabrication of $\textrm{ZrB}_2$ by SHS Process and Reaction-bonded $\textrm{ZrB}_2$-ZrC Composite)

  • $ZrB _2$ was prepared from a mixture of $ZrO_2$, $B_2$$O_3$and Mg by SHS method. The combustion products were successfully obtained from a mixture of $Zro_2$:$B_2$$O_3$:Mg=1:2.0:8.5(molar ratio). MgO, by-product, was removed to 92.7% by leaching with 1M HCl solution at 9$0^{\circ}C$, for 10 hours. After leaching, the mean particle size of the resultant $ZrB_2$powders was 23.6$\mu\textrm{m}$. $ZrB_2$-ZrC composite was suitably obtained from a mixture of C/Zr=1.2 molar ratio by arc-melting method. The density of arc-melted specimen increased by adding excess zirconium content(x). The bulk density was 6.17g/㎤ for x=0, and 6.37g/㎤ x=4. Vickers hardness of arc-melted specimen was /$1290kg\textrm{mm}^2$ for x=0, and fracture toughness increased to 4.2MPa.m\ulcornerforx=4 compared to 3.4MPa.m\ulcornerfor x=0.

태백산(太白山) 광화대(鑛化帶) 중부지역(中部地域) 페그마타이트에 대한 지화학적(地化學的) 연구(硏究) (Geochemical Study on Pegmatites in Central Region of Taebaek Mineralized Area)

  • This study has been carried out on the Pegmatites, Naedeogri Granites, Nonggeori Granites and Metasedimentary rocks in the middle area of Taebaeksan region to investigate the geochemical properties and possibility of productivity. Pegmatites are characterized by metamorphosed anatectic pegmatite and differentiated magmatic pegmatite, and are mixed type of rare-element pegmatite and mica-bearing pegmatite by the classification of Ginsburg(1979). The petrological type of the igneous rocks is thought to be calcalkali, subalkaline and peralumious. According to chemical variations against D. I., differentiation trends from Naedeogri and Nonggeori Granites through non-mineralized pegmatites to mineralized pegmatites are supposed. From the relationship between oxided and $SiO_2$, pegmatites and Nonggeori Granite have shown similar tendencies and bulk composition of pegmatites and similar to metasedimentary rocks near the intrusives. By judging the correlations of trace elements, it is elucidated that pegmatites adjacent to Naedeogri and Nonggeori Granites have been originated in magma differentiation from these granites and the others have been differentiated by remelting or partial melting from metasedimentary rocks. $Sp_5$, $Sp_8$, and $Sp_9$ pegmatites are considered as productive rocks, and $Sp_4$, $Sp_6$, $Sp_7$, $Sp_{10}$, $Sp_{11}$, and $Sp_{12}$ pegmatites and granites are supposed to have a weak productivity, in terms of element ratios related with Sn mineralizations. Tourmalines in productive pegmatites are formed under the circumstance of Li-poor granitoids and associated with pegmatites, and the others are seemed to be originated in metapelites and metapsammites which are not coexisting with an Al-saturating phase. Three types of chemical zoning are noticed in tourmalines: (1) apparently homogeneous compositional patterns, (2) a continuous core-to-rim zoning and, (3) a discontinuous core-to-rim zoning. From results of EPMA of tourmalines, Al, Mg and Ca increase closer to rim, while Fe decreases.

Spark Plasma Sintering of Fe-Ni-Cu-Mo-C Low Alloy Steel Powder

  • In this study, Fe-Cu-Ni-Mo-C low alloy steel powder is consolidated by spark plasma sintering (SPS) process. The internal structure and the surface fracture behavior are studied using field-emission scanning electron microscopy and optical microscopy techniques. The bulk samples are polished and etched in order to observe the internal structure. The sample sintered at $900^{\circ}C$ with holding time of 10 minutes achieves nearly full density of 98.9% while the density of the as-received conventionally sintered product is 90.3%. The fracture microstructures indicate that the sample prepared at $900^{\circ}C$ by the SPS process is hard to break out because of the presence of both grain boundaries and internal particle fractures. Moreover, the lamellar pearlite structure is also observed in this sample. The samples sintered at 1000 and $1100^{\circ}C$ exhibit a large number of tiny particles and pores due to the melting of Cu and aggregation of the alloy elements during the SPS process. The highest hardness value of 296.52 HV is observed for the sample sintered at $900^{\circ}C$ with holding time of 10 minutes.

  • By the ion bombardment the original discrete layered structure is damaged and a uniformly mixed layer is formed by the intermixing of the films. Immediately after this dynamic cascade mixing a structure of this mixed layer is likely to be a mixture of randomly distributed atoms. Subsequently the mixed layered structure becomes a non-equilibrium structure such as the metastable pphase because the kinetic energies of the incident ions rappidly dissippate and host atoms within the collision cascade region are quenched from a highly energetic state. The formation of the metastable transition metal alloys using ion-beam-mixing has been extensively studied for many years because of their sppecific ppropperties that differ from those of bulk materials. in ion-beam-mixing the alloy or comppound is formed due to the atomic interaction between different sppecies during ion bombardment. in this study the metastable pphase formed by ion-beam-mixing pprocess is comppared with equilibrium one by arc-melting method by GXRD and XAS. Therfore we studied the fundamental characteristics of charge redistribution uppon alloying and formation of intermetallic comppounds. The multi-layer films were depposited on a wet-oxidized Si(100) substrate by sequential electron beam evapporation at a ppressure of less than 5$\times$10-7 Torr during depposition. These compprise 4 ppairs of Co and ppt layers where thicknesses of each layer were varied in order to change the alloy compposition.

Fe-22%Cr-5.8%Al 합금의 고온 산화 거동 (High-Temperature Oxidation Behavior of Fe-22%Cr-5.8%Al Alloy)

  • This study investigated the high temperature oxidation behavior of Fe-22%Cr-5.8%Al alloy and the oxidation kinetics of the alloy were discussed. Bulk samples were prepared by VAM (vacuum arc melting) and hot forging. High temperature oxidation testes were isothermally conducted up to 100 hours in 79%$N_2$+21%$O_2$ environment at three different temperatures ($900^{\circ}C$, $1000^{\circ}C$, $1100^{\circ}C$). The weight gain was measured after oxidation according to oxidation time (2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 60, 80, 100 hours). The weight gain significantly increased with increasing oxidation temperature. As the temperature increased, the oxidized samples showed sequential formation of $Al_2O_3$, Cr-rich oxide, Fe-rich oxide. The activation energy of high temperature oxidation was obtained as 306.63 KJ/mol. $Al_2O_3$ were developed on the surface in the early stage of oxidation, representing protective role of oxidation. However, Fe-based and Cr-based oxides leaded to breakaway of oxide layer, thus resulted in the significant increase of additional oxidation.

체심정방정 구조 Fe-Co계 합금상의 합성 및 그 자기적 특성 (Synthesis and Magnetic Properties of Body-centered-tetragonal Fe-Co Alloy)

  • 합금 제조에 흔히 이용되는 기존의 용해, 응고, 열처리 등의 가공 공정으로 덩치 형태의 체심정방정 구조의 Fe-Co계 합금상을 합성하고, 그 결정학적, 자기적 특성을 조사하였다. $(Fe_{100-x}Co_x)_{1-y}C_y$ 합금에서 체심정방정 구조의 단일상(martensite)이 얻어지는 Co 및 C의 함량은 크게 제한되어, Co의 함량 x = 2.5, C의 함량 y = 0.062로 제한된 조성에서 체심정방정 구조의 단일상 합금이 얻어졌다. 합성된 조성 $(Fe_{97.5}Co_{2.5})_{0.938}C_{0.062}$인 체심정방정 구조의 단일상 합금의 정방성(tetragonality, c/a)은 1.05였으며, 이 합금의 결정자기 이방성 상수, $K_1$ 값은 순수 철(${\alpha}-Fe$)의 $K_1$ 값에 비하면 3.1배 정도 높은 $1.5{\times}10^5J/m^3$였다.

석탄바닥재로 제조된 결정화 유리의 물리적 특성에 미치는 Li2O 첨가 영향 (Influence of Li2O Addition on Physical Properties of Glass-Ceramics Fabricated Using a Coal Bottom Ash)

  • Glass-ceramics were fabricated by heat-treatment of glass obtained by melting a coal bottom ash with $Li_2O$ addition. The main crystal grown in the glass-ceramics, containing 10 wt% $Li_2O$, was $\beta$-spodumene solid solution, while in $Li_2O$ 20 wt% specimen was mullite, identified using XRD. The activation energy and Avrami constant for crystallization were calculated and showed that bulk crystallization behavior will be predominant, and this expectation agreed with the microstructural observations. The crystal phase grown in $Li_2O$ 10 wt% glass-ceramics had a dendrite-like shaped whereas the shape was flake-like in the 20 wt% case. The thermal expansion coefficient of the $Li_2O$ 10 wt% glass-ceramics was lower than that of the glass having the same composition, owing to the formation of a $\beta$-spodumene phase. For example, the thermal expansion coefficient of $Li_2O$ 10 wt% glass-ceramics was $20\times10^{-7}$, which is enough for application in various heat-resistance fields. But above 20 wt% $Li_2O$, the thermal coefficient expansion of glass-ceramics, on the contrary, was higher than that of the same composition glass, due to formation of mullite.
