Structural Design of Mid-Story SI Tall-building with RC Frame Placed on Steel Structure

  • In this paper we introduce Shinagawa HEART, located in Shinagawa district, Tokyo. It is a mixed-use building with residences on the upper floors, offices on the lower floors, and commercial uses on the first and second floors, and is intended to meet the various needs of a building on the border between residential and commercial areas. The upper floors of the building are made of reinforced concrete, while the middle and lower floors are made of steel with CFT columns. First, an overview of the structural plan of the building is presented. Next, the adoption of the middle layer seismic isolation and the switch between the lower steel structure and the upper reinforced concrete structure, which are the features of this building, are explained. Finally, the construction method adopted to achieve the design performance is explained.

  • TRNSYS 16 had just a wall area and azimuth as an input value about a building shape. So, a geometrical shape of a building was not considered in simulation using TRNSYS 16. In this study, we suggested the more appropriate modeling method for simulation considering of building geometry in TRNSYS 16. To suggest this method, we simulated energy needs affected by shading effect that caused by a geometrical shape of a building, and compared the result to the simulation result of non-shading environment.

  • Recently, the housing market in Korea has been changed from new construction to building-stocks, and focusing on supplier to focusing on users. Open housing is a design method not only content to users' various needs but also to the means of sustainable development by adapted to longevity of buildings. There are some indicators for Open Housing related to Green Building Certification Criteria which were worked by Mock & ME. But those indicators are limited to flexible design methods. This is a basic study for the selecting of Open Housing indicators for complementation of Green Building Certification Criteria by the analysis of SI housing in Japan, domestic Green Building Labelling and those of other countries.

  • Currently, it is increasing the importance of floor impact sound performance in apartment building due to users' various needs for comfortable residential environments. However, there are little date on floor impact sound performance because Korean apartment building floor is an ON-DOL which is made of several elements. In this study, floor impact sound performance according to variation of floor construction method were investigated. And based on these investigated results, datas can be used to supply constructor and comsumer basis data to estimate floor impact sound performance.

  • The natural period calculation equations specified in the current building code are empirical formulas that depend on height and material type of the structure. Building with the upper wall and lower frame type is a unique structure which composed of two different structural system This type of structure needs either the deep transfer girder or the thick transfer plate that brings the sudden change of stiffness and mass. Therefore the natural period equations recommended by the current code can not be applied directly. In this study the natural period of building with typical plan obtained by dynamci analysis is compared with that of various codes. Ad approximate estimation equation for the natural period of building with the upper wall and lower frame type obtained by regression analysis is recommended. by the current code can not be applied directly.   • This paper is to present map building of mobile robot using RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology and ultrasonic sensor. For mobile robot to perform map building, the mobile robot needs its localization and accurate driving in space. In this reason, firstly, kinematic modeling of mobile robot under non-holonomic constrains is introduced. Secondly, based on this modeling, a tracking controller is designed for tracking a given path based on backstepping method using Lyapunov function. The Lyapunov function is also introduced for proving the stability of the designed tracking controller. Thirdly, 2D map building is performed by RFID system, mobile robot system and ultrasonic sensors. The RFID mobile robot system is composed of DC motor, encoder, ultra sonic sensor, digital compass, RFID receiver and RFID antenna. Finally, the path tracking simulation results and map building experimental results are presented to show the effectiveness of the designed controller.

농촌개발사업 참여 주체의 역량 강화 방안 (Strategies and measures for capacity building in rural development project)

  • This study aimed to find the way to help participants build capacity in rural development projects, through some case studies and Q-methodology. Decentralization and diffusion of bottom-up approach in rural development projects are the main contextual factors in this study. With the ethos of bottom-up approach in rural development, the human and financial inputs for capacity building increased drastically in the area of rural development policy. Four types of capacity building methods were identified in this study; training, consulting, learning organization, and forum. Theses methods were used more at planning step than implementation step in rural development projects. The government's effort to strengthen leadership in rural areas should be continued. The existing government's training program for capacity building had better include more diverse clients. Actions for capacity building should be centered on the needs of the participants in fields. Especially, organizing learning units is very important. Governments' rural development policy should establish the proper process which can help local actors plan their projects with enough time span.

  • To control the motion of building structures under earthquakes their response should be measured first by various sensors and transformed into the control forces using some control algorithms. Of many control algorithms linear quadratic control is widely used as it is easy to implement and analyze. However the algorithms has the disadvantage that it needs the real-time measurements of all state variables(i.e, building's displacements and velocities) which are difficult to achieve for the building structures under earthquakes. Thus the practical algorithms employing output feedback are developed. In this paper LQG algorithm is used for the control of the building model with an active mass driver. The building's acceleration is used to obtain the control gain and the Kalman filter gain. The LQG control strategy is verified with the experimental study on the one-storybuilding model equipped with the active mass driver. This paper demonstrates experimentally the efficacy of the LQG algorithm based on the active mass driver system in reducing the response of seismically excited buildings.

  • Top-Down construction is becoming a popular construction method in China as there is a growing need for building high-rise structures in crowded urban areas. This paper deals with the explanation and analysis of characteristics of Top-Down construction in China. In China, usually construction site is relatively large or sometimes huge compared to that in Korea. Thus, as the high-rise portion of the building needs to be constructed first and fast, island method is used at the center p망t of the building. In the meanwhile, the remaining area of the building is constructed using Top-Down method to provide working area for equipments and workers. Also, the case studies of construction examples are provided in this paper. The purpose of this paper is to promote international understanding and interaction between neighborhood countries for the utilization of Top-Down construction.
