  • The delay of the completion of the construction project occurs frequently because the origin schedule is affected by numerous factors that contribute to the overall delay in completing the project. But in our country. the dealing with a claim is not sufficient yet by reasons of fairl relation between owner and constructor, cognitive shortage in claim, and such. especially they have make a wrong application of baseless the rule. In this study. we make a rational model ; that includes calculating of dispute costs, and suggest the solution and the prevention for claim by considerating the law followed liquidated damages.

  • Recently, the structure is higher and larger, so that the application of high-strength concrete is increased, And as the development of construction skills, it is possible to place during the winter. Concrete work during winter is indispensible to shorten time of completion and cut costs. When concrete work during winter is placed, it has anxiety that concrete freeze at low temperature. As repetition of concrete's freezing cause reduction of durability, it is necessary for mixing to pay attention to air content and W/C ratios. Accordingly, in this study, we estimate the frost resistance by air content and W/C ratios, and development of strength after early-frost damage in the high-strength concrete during the cold weather. In this study, it could be confirmed that factors which were air content, W/C ratios and early curing period, affected on the frost resistance.

  • Low carbon construction is an important operation management goal such as cost, time, and quality in construction community. This paper introduces a system which measures the variability of carbon dioxide amounts. First, this system allows creating construction operation models of which the level of detail is breakdown into the work task level. Second, the system implements sensitivity analysis along with a ranges of resources that are allocated in an operation model. It facilitates to find the optimal resource combination using the operation performances such as the amount of emissions, operation completion time, and cost. Lastly, it identifies the best fit probability distribution functions of performance criteria given a certain resource combination. It allows project manager to query the percentages to complete the operation within a limitation specified by the system users.

  • Construction Technology Service is currently hardly managed due to failure to offer standard management system of service performance, company performance, and business evaluation in every Ordering Agencies. After Construction Technology Promotion Act is enforced in May 2014, Ordering Agency obligates them to report to Minister of Land and Transportation within 10 days upon contract/ amendment/ completion. In 2013, in advance to enforcement of this law, performance management system for construction technology service was developed for a test run. However this system only applies to main contractors while management and operation of subcontractors are unavailable that causes problems on connection and integration with Experience Management Trustee. Therefore, this research will establish systematic foundation that enables real-time information of service performance and evaluation of subcontractors to result standardization of performance and evaluation for public ordered services.

  • Non-working days owing to climatic factors have been negatively affected in productivity of construction, such as delays of project completion times, decrease productivity of construction. Especially non-working days of steel erection work is about 58 days, it is influenced deleteriously to estimating uncertain construction duration. To solve this problem, Construction Factory(CF) and sliding roof system installed CF's upper side are developed in korea recently. This study is proposed the design of sliding roof system through assess relation of requirements and technical characteristics using Quality Function Deployment(QFD). The basis data for applying QFD is collected from literature reviews and questionnaires/interviews targeting system developer, experts and researchers.

  • This study aims to evaluate the feasibility of remodeling business by predicting the future price of apartment house after remodeling using Hedonic Price Model. The data concerning such 8 independent variables as location, unit size, unit plan, landscape, parking, the number of elapsed years after completion, number of units, brand per apartment unit from 25 regions in Seoul metropolitan city were collected and evaluated by established evaluation criteria. The coefficients affecting the price of apartment unit were made by way of linear multi-regression and put into Hedonic Price Model. The feasibility evaluation model for apartment was made and verified by data of remodelled apartment. The predicted results using suggested evaluation model coincide with actual apartment market situations.

Article 36 (Liability for warranty Repair Defects), Article 37 (About Repair Defect, etc), and its implementing ordinances, Article 36 (Term of warranty liability) Article 37 (Defect criteria), Article 38 (procedure of Repair defect), Article 39 (type of warranty liability), Enforcement Rule Article 17 (Certifiation of warranty liability). On the basis of the upper Decree, In spite of Standard and forms of 'Completion of Repair Defect' was exist, it was hard to receive 'End of Confirmation' in practice. The purpose of this study is to propose basics in order that Practitioners can apply problems and improvements about Decree on the Management of Apartment Houses.

  • The purpose of this case study is to reduce the flaw and reconstruction occur at the level of construction by determining the propriety of estimate and error on a drawing and specification at working design level through case studies of BIM application at the level of design review. As a preliminary to apply BIM technology, it is needed to review the drawing, and then it is required to define BIM range by selecting the section in which construction error occurs frequently except for the type of part that is constructed repeatedly. At the execution level, the drawing is reviewed vertically, horizontally and spatially by proceeding structure and finish modeling on the defined BIM range, and also the propriety of estimate and error on the drawing and specification are examined. We aim to raise the completion rate, improve quality of construction, reduce the cost for construction and shorten period of construction by preparing for the error on the drawing and specification in advance through this review procedures.

  • The aim of this study is to analyze the influence of various factors on energy consumption of apartment buildings. Energy consumption data of the Green Together, integrated building energy management system maintained by the government were used, and end-use and primary energy consumption data of 2012 were analyzed for 181 apartment complexes completed between 2004 and 2011 in Seoul. Energy consumption by use, source and heating type were analyzed. Then, energy consumption trends were analyzed and suggested according to energy efficiency ratings, number of households, areas for exclusive use, number of floors, core types, building types, orientations and completion years.

  • Jeddah Tower will be the first man-made structure to reach a kilometer in height upon its completion in 2019. From conception, it was clear that an all-concrete superstructure would present many advantages for a building of such unprecedented height and slenderness. An all-concrete structure, however, did present many challenges that needed to be addressed in the system arrangement and through comprehensive analysis and design, among them vertical shortening effects due to the time-dependent creep and shrinkage of concrete. This paper outlines and presents the engineering solutions developed by the authors regarding this complex concrete material phenomenon, while addressing the construction and regional challenges associated with realizing a concrete tower of this unprecedented scale.
