  • In these days, importance of HVAC system in office building is steadily growing in terms of thermal comfort and energy savings. As a energy efficient heating and cooling system, system air-conditioner which can be controlled distinctly and has a high COP is more widely adopted nowadays. However, the features and advantages of system air-conditioner were not reported well because system air-conditioner did not describe yet by conventional simulation methods such as TRNSYS, e-Quest, Energyplus, etc. In this study, by using the TRNSYS program which is able to show module implementation and building energy consumption analysis, system air-conditioner module will be proposed and validated through comparison between the simulation results and measurement results.

  • The aim of this study was to analysis the Heating/cooling performance of movable insulation system built in apartments. The process of this study is as follows: 1) Test-cells of movable insulation are designed through the investigation of previous paper and work. The type of the movable insulation used in test-cell is low emissivity(5%) insulation, measured for heating season and the thermal effects are analyzed. 2) The simulation program(Design Builder) was used in energy performance analysis. the reference model of simulation was made up to analysis energy performance on movable insulation system. 3) Selected reference model(Floors:15, Area of Unit:115.5$m^2$) for heating/cooling energy analysis, Energy performance simulation with various variants, such as slate angle of movable insulation(5$^{\circ}$, 30$^{\circ}$, 50$^{\circ}$) and position of movable insulation. Consequently, When movable insulation system is equipped with balcony window of Apartment, Annual heating energy of reference model was cut down at the average of 5.4kWh/$m^2$ or 4.6% of heating/cooling energy.

  • In this study, we survey the 2 buildings at the Central 1 and 8 buildings at the Central 2, which are divided by each climate region in the rural regions. Major heat loss factors are 47% loss of the outer shell including outer wall, roof, and bottom, 30% loss through window, and 23% loss through crevice wind. We analyze the energy simulation of ECO2 program to construct a zero energy building regarding village hall located in Jung Juk 4-le at Centeral 2. We simulate the primary energy requirement regarding village hall and the simulated results show the $265.3kWh/m^2{\cdot}a$ and it may estimate '2' energy efficiency grade. The energy requirement regarding village hall is the $183.2kWh/m^2{\cdot}a$ when the passive technology are applied in village hall. We research total amount of energy requirement in village hall when the passive and active technologies such as solar cell with 3kW and solar thermal with $20m^2$, geothermal power with 17.5kW. The simulated results show the improved energy efficiency certification grade with $1^{{+}{+}{+}}$ due to the reduced primary energy requirement with 73% when passive technology including 3kW of solar panel is applied and the energy independence rate is 54%, which is estimated to be 4th grade of zero energy buildings. The order of energy consumption are solar panel, solar thermal, and geothermal power under applied passive technology in the building. In order to expand the zero energy building, it is necessary to introduce the zero energy evaluation system in the rural region.

  • Currently, Exterior wall's U-value about building envelope is 0.36 W/$m^2K$(Central Region), but window's one is 2.1 W/$m^2K$ according to air gap of glazing, filling gas, coating and type of windows. The door"s one is 1.6~5.5 W/$m^2{\cdot}K$ depending on material and configuration of door. As such, energy loss per unit of door is considerably larger like windows. The door for the recognition was relatively low because energy loss through the door is relatively small compared to window area. In this paper, thermal performance was analyzed through simulation targeting the door which has thermal break that can improve the insulation performance and doesn't have one. As a results of simulations, case1 was calculated as the average of 1.63 w/m2k and case 2 was calculated as the average of 4.14 w/m2k. The thermal performance of door depends on the type and condition of insulations. As a results of final simulations, Case1 was calculated as 1.06 w/m2k and Case2 was calculated as 1.27 w/m2k. As a results of the experiments, thermal performance of case 1 was measured as 1.28 w/m2k. Error between experiments and simulations is considered problems encountered when creating the samples. The effect of door frame on the overall thermal performance is slight because it's a small proportion of the door frame.

  • The uniformity of temperature on a wafer is one of the most important parameters to control the RTP (Rapid Thermal Process) with proper input signals. Since it is impossible to achieve the uniformity of temperature without exact estimation of temperature at all points on the wafer, the difficulty of understanding internal dynamics and structural complexities of the RTP is a primary obstacle to accurately measure the distributed temperatures on the wafer. Furthermore, it is also hard to accomplish desirable estimation because only few pyrometers have been commonly available in the general equipments. In the paper, a thermal model based on the chamber geometry of the AST SHS200 RTP system is developed to effectively control the thermal uniformity on the wafer. First of all, the estimation method of one-point measurement is developed, which is properly extended to the case of multi-point measurements. This thermal model is validated through certain simulation and experiments. The work can be usefully contributed to building a run-by-run or a real-time controls of the RTP.

  • Short-term tests were conducted on a house at KIER, Daejon for its thermal performance evaluation. The test procedure and data analysis were made according to the PSTAR method. Each test period was 3 days during which the building was unoccupied. The data measured with 8 channels were used to renormalize an audit based simulation model of the house. The following are the key parameters obtained in the present analysis: 1) the building loss coefficient(skin conductance plus infiltration conductance during coheating period); 2) the effective building heat capacity; and 3) the effective solar gain. An estimation of total heat required to maintain a standard level of comfort during a typical winter season is also calculated on the basis of the renormalized simulation model and typical long term weather data.

(2) The annular load saving of the clayed hollow block wall was evaluated 1.5% larger than its of the cement block wall. (3) The construction cost of the clayed hollow block wall was calculated 73% more expensive than its of the cement block wall. (4) The construction cost of the clayed hollow block composite wall was calculated 13.7% more expensive than its of the cement block composite wall.

  • This study intends to the adequacy inspection of the room temperature variation rate that is available in the building heat performance evaluation index, so we performed the sensitivity analysis about the room temperature variation rate and the energy consumption in the room. For these purpose, we supposed the models which are composed of the various window area, insulation thickness and ventilation rate. Then we analyzed the simulation using the ESP-r and Seoul weather data. In this research, the pattern of the increasing & decreasing rate of annual load according to the change of the various design factors is similar to the pattern of increasing & decreasing rate of not the K-values but the room temperature variation rate. Also we derive the optimum value of the various design factors and the room temperature variation rate in this analysis model. Further study is to be required the development of convenient tool to use in the real design.

  • As the time goes by, the energy use in buildings are increasing threateningly. So, it is important to have an accurate energy load calculation for buildings. The accurate energy simulation program carries numerous input data. So, our purpose of this study is to verify the application of simplify modeling method which eliminates coordinates of building components instead of using full coordinates by using DOE2. After comparing original modeling method with simplify modeling method, we applied PAF for daylighting control in the building to verify the application of daylighting control in simplify modeling method. The results shows that there are little difference between original modeling and simplify modeling. Also it showed that application of daylighting control has little difference between original modeling so it is feasible to adapt simplify modeling. These results reveals that the application of simplify modeling is possible to predict energy load and use of the building.
