  • Architecture is the historical record of a society. Residential culture is one of the cultures, and includes all the living and customs of people living in the current society. In particular, the Native residence has the research value of changing the living culture because it contains the lives of farmers. The residential culture of the Korean-chinese people contains the poor, agricultural, and immigrant life that began as a livelihood. Therefore, residential culture is an important part of the Korean-chinese culture. However, due to population movement and urbanization, the deepening and aging of the rural community caused the destruction of the residential culture, and the residentials that had been vacant for many years were destroyed, and a large number of risky residential reconstructions are underway. At the point of progress from a voluntary personal building culture to a public building culture built by the government, a study on Renovation of dilapidated Building and a more reasonable residential reform plan is needed. Our housing culture should not only improve the living environment of current life, but also inherit the housing culture contained in history.

  • As can be seen in the statistics on domestic performance facilities, small or large scale of acoustic renovations seem to be unavoidable in many of those facilities due to its senility. However it is hard to find case studies which can be referred to for its acoustic renovation process. This study tried to provide a case study example of acoustic renovation for a high school auditorium which has many restrictions as a cultural heritage building. Requirements from the client and acoustic problems found through a field measurement of existing space motivated acoustic design solutions and alternatives which can improve the acoustics of the space. The whole process from the initial stage of diagnosing acoustic problems to the final stage of a post acoustic evaluation after the completion of construction was described. The result from the post acoustic evaluation suggested that reverberation characteristics of the space as well as definition and clarity have been greatly improved by applying acoustic design solutions and alternatives. However, loudness of sounds in the space didn't reach the aimed level, which is due to the limited capability of slat ceiling structure for providing strong early reflections.

  • Renovation of existing sports facilities or construction of temporary ones for international complex games requires a wide variety of hundreds of sub construction projects to be awarded at the same time but there are few precedents required regarding the study of tendering process required in such cases. As award of construction contracts to build sports facilities for various international complex games is a critical determinant of fate of international complex games in the initial phase, it is very critical that adequate construction tendering process bedetermined. This research is aimed to study tendering cases for renovation or construction of critical international sports facilities to enhance efficiency of facility construction and define most reasonable tendering approach to satisfy schedule constraints often associated with international complex games and contribute to improvement of international competitiveness of their host cities and propose a direction for further development. This study also provides inputs to subsequent sports events of comparable scale to minimize trial and error.

  • Traditional housing must be conserved simultaneous1y with not only the building itself, but the circumstances of the surroundings. Hence, traditional housing should be developed as a product of a culture environment. However, most cultural properties have recently been treated as only a piece of property by irresponsible maintenance practices and damage placed on private traditional housing. Apparently, it has not always been a result of dweller's negligence. Thus, various policies must be needed to effectively preserve traditional housing. To do so, this study will indicate a new direction for the circumstance of preservation through cultural employment of traditional high-class housing as well as reduce maintenance and damage for dweller's convenience. Furthermore, this study will propose a renovation for popularization of Korean cultural assets through the gradual implementation of both economic vague and public worth.

  • In this building, we never use the existing construction methods such as disassembly, destruction and newly construction to ensure the eco-friendly building and to decrease of waste disposal. We make customers feel newly by using minimum materials, pursuing the 'Best Design Using Lower Material' slogan and remodeling the building partially. The line is the most informal type one which is lack of intention. This line formation is harmonized with self-efficiency and completeness that are not required for unnecessary things, and simple unification which has not alternatives or obstacles.

  • The government has routinely made efforts to improve the living environment and infrastructure of less-developed areas through large area urban remodeling projects, which are in themselves attempts to overcome the disadvantages of piecemeal local area development. Such projects are very complex, and various stakeholders are involved. However, the data on such projects has not been well managed, and has not lent itself to being easily adopted to similar projects. In addition, there are numerous fragmented mega-projects that seem to be performed based on "rules of thumb" To address this issue, the work process of many urban and residence project types should be standardized otherwise the participants will be confused to work properly. In particular, typical residents who lack knowledge about building redevelopment, building remodeling, urban environment improvement projects, and the like think that it is difficult to establish the preparation committees and association committees for the projects. Therefore, we examined previous researches related to the urban and building renovation to solve the prescribed present problems. This paper presents the three necessary research performances: first, we analyzed the administrative work process in the related laws; second, we examined the practical work process of the preparation committee and association committee stages; and finally we deduced the problem and presented the required improvements.
