  • The purpose of this study is to clarify the characteristics of Zen Buddhist temple's building composition of the Northern Song dynasty, through the analysis of literature historical material, such as Seonwon chenggyu(禪苑淸規), Cham cheontae odaesan gi(參天台五臺山記) and so on. The building composition method of Zen Buddhist temple in Northern Song dynasty, which grasped from the Seonwon chenggyu, reflects the actual situation of the temples in that time. And it was ascertained that, the Zen Buddhist temple's building composition of the Northern Song dynasty was basically same to that of Southern Song dynasty. And the comparative analysis was attempted between Zen Buddhist temples and that of other Buddhism sect described in Cham cheontae odaesan gi. From this analysis, the common features as Buddhism temple and the characteristics of building composition as Zen Buddhist temple was clarified.

  • The Combustion gas behavior induced by fire in a building is numerically investigated. The typical building for this analysis is partially divided by a vertical baffle projecting from the ceiling. The solution procedure includes the low Reynolds number ${\kappa}-{\varepsilon}$ model for the turbulent flow and the discrete ordinates method is used for the calculation of radiative heat transfer equation. The effects of the location and size of fire source and baffle length on velocity and temperature distributions, species mass fraction and flame location are analyzed. As the results of this study, it is found that the case when the fire source is located at the vertical wall is more dangerous than at the bottom wall in view of the combustion products and flame location. It is also found that the radiation effect cannot be neglected in analyzing the building in fire.

  • BIPV(Building Integrated PV) system can expect dual effects that reduce expenses for establishment of PV system by adding new function as outer covering material of building expect producing the electricity. But, there are many generation differences according to the exterior environmental facts(solar cell array, design and installation condition of interactive inverter system) Therefore, it is difficult to optimum design. Consequently in advance design system, we experiment 3kW BIPV(Building Integrated PV) generation. We concrete PV system efficient application of variable. BIPV system that is proposed in this paper, was established in Solar Energy research center of Chosun University, composed with system. This research is a basic study for application of building integrated photovoltaic system for building

  • Recently, there are growing interests in building LCCO2 Assessment to reduce carbon emissions. However, existing methods of assessment system include inefficiency in the process of CO2 calculation requiring considerable data input. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to develop an efficient building assessment system appropriate to material production in construction stage. To that end, quantity input technology was limited to data mapping. Also quantity calculation based on work breakdown structure and item codes consisted of hierarchical structure that is based on facet classification were analyzed. As a result, connectivity links of quantity calculation and CO2 functional units through item codes for data mapping, and assessment system including calculation and database parts were developed.

  • The goal of site layout planning(SLP) is to maximize the productivity and efficiency of the construction by reducing travel distance and material handling cost and manpower. However, SLPs are static layout schemes, which cannot be reorganized during the construction process to correspond with errors, phase transition, changing working environments on the site. To solve this problem, researches on dynamic site layout planning(DSLP) are emerging. This preliminary study clarifies characteristics of temporary facility's variables to develop the vertical DSLP algorithm of high-rise building construction.

  • The latest developments in topology optimization are integrated with Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) for the conceptual design of building structures. The wind load on a building is simulated using CFD, and the structural response of the building is obtained from finite element analysis under the wind load obtained. Multiple wind directions are simulated within a single fluid domain by simply expanding the simulation domain. The bi-directional evolutionary structural optimization (BESO) algorithm with a scheme of material interpolation is extended for an automatic building topology optimization considering multiple wind loading cases. The proposed approach is demonstrated by a series of examples of optimum topology design of perimeter bracing systems of high-rise building structures.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop a prediction model for evaluating heavy-weight floor impact sounds in a test building. Three rooms in the test building (slab thickness In and 240mm), which consist of frame concrete structures were tested and modeled. First, the SPL distribution in the receiving room was analyzed by measuring SPL at 90 positions using a bang machine. Then, a vibration model using finite element method is proposed considering the material properties and boundary conditions. In addition, the result of transient analysis was compared with field measurements using a standard heavy-weight impact source. Through a vibro-acoustic simulation program, an acoustic model evaluating the building elements (reflected wall, nor, window and door) was proposed. Finally, validation of the prediction model was conducted by vibro-acoustic analysis with field measurements of noise radiation characteristics in receiving rooms.

  • We could analyse the fire behavior using the developed software for fire safety assessment in a large space such as atrium. But Korean building law hasn't admitted the result of fire risk assessment in atrium. In the legislation fire resistant wall or shutter must be required between atrium and office rooms, That has obstructed development of building design and fire protection technique in Korea. From this point of view, we made scenarios of fire spread between atrium and office rooms, and then computed fire spread and fire phenomena using FASTLite and Breakl. In this study, we can decide that fire compartmentalization between atrium and office rooms doesn't require in Atrium building if the material and fire protection system were reliable. Consequently, Korean Fire Protection Regulations have to consider in direction of increasing freedom of building.

  • The aim of this paper is to analysis mechanical system flaw in building service system construction. From this paper, most mechanical flaws are from design mistakes, material flaws, other engineering construction's negligence of construction execution and careless system operation managements. Through this study, the author suggested the way to reduce mechanical flaw, during construction process from drawing survey before execution start to completion of construction.
