  • Purpose: This study was designed to identify the variables affecting male adolescents' sexual intercourse through a comprehensive analysis of individual and environmental factors. Method: The subjects of this descriptive survey on causal relations were 462 subjects enrolled in liberal and vocational high schools selected on a convenience sampling basis. The data collected from May-July 2002 was put to logistic regression analysis to build a forecast model. Findings: 1) Individual factors such as school record, experience seeking, non-inhibition and sexual permissiveness, 2) family factors such as parental living arrangement, 3) school factors such as career tract and 4) peer factors such as having a boy/girl friend were identified as significant variables forecasting sexual intercourse. Conclusion and Recommendation: The theoretical model built on the basis of the major findings of this study will hopefully help promote a wholesome youth culture related to sexual intercourse. It is recommended that a program be developed that can help control the variables identified in this study along with a follow-up study to verify the model.

  • The navigation problem of robot is one of the main themes to deal with conficts or interferences between obstacles and the robot itself In this case, while the robot avoids obstacles on the space, the passage route should be determined efficiently. In order to solve problems above, we have come up with the distance field space medel (DFM) and then, under known environment, we have presented the distance field A algorithm for passage route path search. In this research, the method of performing the 3-dimensional passage route path search of robot under unknown environment is proposed. It is shown that the authors can build the distance search model the does not need space division by taking into account of sensor information to a distance field space model, and constructing this information as virtual obstacle information.

  • To acquire radar target signature, various kinds of target are necessary. Measurement is one of the data acquiring method, but much time and high cost is required to get the target data from the real targets. Even if we can afford that, the targets we can access are very limited. To obtain target signatures avoiding these problems, we build the target CAD (Computer Aided Design) model for the calculation of target signatures. To speed up RCS calculation, we applied adaptive super-sampling and tested quite complex tank CAD model which is 1.4 hundred of thousands facet. We use calculated RCS data for ID range profile and 2D ISAR (Inverse Synthetic Aperture Radar) image formation. We adopted IFFT (Inverse Fast Fourier Transform) algorithm combined with polar formatting algorithm for the ISAR imaging. We could confirm the possibility of the construction of database from the images of CAD models for target classification applications.

  • In the field of software reuse, several methods for storage and retrieval of assets abound. However, these methods often find their limits; they fail to turn up the suitable reusable assets that satisfy the needs of a particular software system under development. Two problems are the root cause of this situation. One is the lack of accurate semantics for describing software assets. The other is the ignorance of the user query context. In such a context, this paper presents an XML-based asset representation model for describing all kinds of software asset that can be reused within software development process. The proposed model provides semantic metadata for describing assets oriented user context in order to build the foundation for semantic reasoning in the retrieval process.

  • In this study, the material characterization and the dynamic behavior of 3D orthogonal woven composite materials has been studied under transverse central low-velocity impact condition by means of the micromechanical model using finite elements. To build up the micromechanical model considering tow spacing and waviness, an accurate unit structure is stacked in x-y-z direction repeatedly. First, the mechanical properties of 3D orthogonal woven composites are obtained by means of virtual experiment using full scale Finite Element Analysis based on the DNS concepts, and the computed elastic properties are validated by comparison to available experimental results[9]. Second, using the implementation of this validated micromechanical model, 3D transient finite-element analysis is performed considering contact and impact, and the impact behavior of 3D orthogonal woven composite is investigated. A comparison study will be carried out in terms of energy absorption capabilities.

  • Applications using 3D models are increasing recently. Since 3D polygonal models are structured by a triangular mesh, the coding of polygonal models in strips of triangles is an efficient way of representing the data. These strips may be very long, and may take a long time to render or transmit. If the triangle strips are partitioned, it may be possible to perform more efficient data transmission in an error-prone environment and to display the 3D model progressively. In this paper, we devised the Component Based Data Partitioning (CODAP) which is based on Topological Surgery (TS). In order to support the error resilience and the progressively build-up rendering, we partition the connectivity, geometry, and properties of a 3D polygonal model. Each partitioned component is independently encoded and resynchronization between partitioned components is done.

  • Today, It is difficult to search the various and numerous information efficiently. For this reason, Semantic Web emerged to provide searching services more easily through the structuring of a variety of unstructured format data and the definition of meaningful relationships between information. Especially, definition of relationship and meaning among resources is significant to share and infer related information. Ontology modeling plays just that role. Weapon parts development information is unstructured and dispersed all over. There are many difficulties in finding desired information, leading to getting improper outcomes. In this paper, we present an intuitive ontology model with weapon parts development information including the multi-dimensional information analysis and expansion of the relevant information. This study build up a ontology model through creating class and hierarchy about parts information and defining the properties of classes with Ontology Development 101[1] procedures using Protégé tools. The ontology model provides users with a platform on which search of needed information can be easy and efficient.

  • New information technology developments continue to have a significant impact on civil engineering fields. The objective of this study is to develop STEP-based database which will be able to store and manipulate the information of steel bridges over the life cycle. In this study, there are three steps to fulfil the objective to build database and develop the application module for that data model practically and effectively To begin with, STEP methodology for a development of data model has been used for modelling data structure. And then the data model for a steel bridge's shape and structural analysis information has been made up by using AP203 (configuration controlled design) and AP203 (composite and metallic structural analysis and related design) which are the international standard in STEP Lastly, the application module for an access to information of steel bridges has been developed by means of already made database. This study show efficiently the prototype of developing information system with the existing standard technology in civil engineering fields.

  • Two-phase flow near the wellbore in volatile oil reservoirs causes complications in well test analysis. In this study, the flow behavior of volatile oil reservoirs below the bubble-point pressure and the potential of radial composite model for interpretation of two-phase well test in volatile oil reservoirs was investigated. A radial composite model was used for two-phase well test analysis. A new procedure was developed to interpret well test data and estimate the radius of the two-phase region. The changes in fluid composition near the wellbore during drawdown test were found to increase the saturation pressure, which affects the saturation profile during build-up. Well test results showed that the radial composite method is a powerful tool for well test characterization and estimation of reservoir parameters. The proposed procedure was able to estimate the reservoir parameters and radius of the two-phase region with acceptable accuracy.

  • Errors in inertial navigation system(INS) can be divided into two major groups which are system related errors and modeling errors due to approximation and linearization. Measurement noise, calibration, and alignment errors make up the first group, whereas the uncertainties in the gravity vector fall in the second category and are important error source for high quality INS, especially during high altitude and and/or long time missions, when the gravity errors tent to build up. The quality of a medium to high accuracy INS depends on the knowledge of the local gravity field. In this paper, the feasibility of improving airborns INS by use of more accurate gravity model is studied. To make consistent comparisons, WGS-84 parameters are used and ...
