In this paper, we modeled the devices used easily in PV system circuits. Simulation tools use PSPICE to enable intuitive electrical circuit simulations. Simulations were also performed on the effects of temperature and spatial radiation that are easy to overlook when using solar cells using modelled libraries. In addition, for full operation of the photovoltaic system, a complete operation system for the DC-DC buck-boost converter and the MPPT(Maximum Power Point Tracking) control system was modeled and simulated to confirm good operation. In order to verify the operation of the simulation, we constructed an actual system with the same conditions in the simulation and experimented. As a result, we proposed a single-phase 3 kW grid-connected solar power converter.
The two-stage converter is widely used in traditional DC/AC inverter. It has several disadvantages such as complex topology, large volume and high loss. In order to overcome these shortcomings, a novel half load-cycle worked dual SEPIC single-stage inverter, which is based on the analysis of the relationship between input and output voltages of SEPIC converters operating in the discontinuous conduction mode (DCM), is presented in this paper. The traditional single-stage inverter has remarkable advantages in small and medium power applications, but it can’t realize boost DC/AC output directly. Besides one pre-boost DC/DC converter is needed between the DC source and the traditional single-stage inverter. A novel DC/AC inverter without pre-boost DC/DC converter, which is comprised of two SEPIC converters, is studied. The output of dual SEPIC converters is connected with anti-parallel and half load-cycle control is used to realize boost and buck DC/AC output directly and work properly, whatever the DC input voltage is higher or lower than the AC output voltage. The working principle, parameter selection and the control strategy of the inverters are analyzed in this paper. Simulation and experiment results verify the feasibility of the new inverter.

This paper presents a 0.2V DC/DC boost converter with regulated output for thermoelectric energy harvesting. To use low voltages from a thermoelectric device, a start-up circuit consisting of native NMOS transistors and resistors boosts an internal VDD, and the boosted VDD is used to operate the internal control block. When the VDD reaches a predefined value, a detector circuit makes the start-up block turn off to minimize current consumption. The final boosted VSTO is achieved by alternately operating the sub-boost converter for VDD and the main boost converter for VSTO according to the comparator outputs. When the VSTO reaches 2.4V, a buck converter starts to operate to generate a stabilized output VOUT. Simulation results shows that the designed converter generates a regulated 1.8V output from an input voltage of 0.2V, and its maximum power efficiency is 60%. The chip designed using a $0.35{\mu}m$ CMOS process occupies $1.1mm{\times}1.0mm$ including pads.

Recently, the market of Electric Vehicle(EV) is increasing more and more than before. Thus a new heater for the EV is required. The PTC devices may be used the heater for the EV. In this paper, a simple DC-DC Converter is proposed as the PTC Heater for the EV. The proposed circuit was optimally desired to decrease the stress of the power devices and reduce the current ripples. To apply the result of the test in the laboratory to the actual EV system with the high DC voltage, ripple current, average current and output peak current are predicted by using the least-squares method. Finally, the proposed circuit is validated by various experiments.
In the buck-boost DC-DC chopper which is used at a certain situation such as in factories where loads often change a lot, the switches in the device make big energy loss in operating at Buck-Boost Mode due to hard switching and are affected by lots of stresses which decrease the efficiency rate of the converter. In order to improve this problem, to decrease the loss of snubber and switching, it has been investigated that zero voltage switching mode and zero current switching mode which make the operation of switches with soft switching. For the more sophisticated and advanced device, this paper is presented the Partial Resonant Soft Switching Mode Power Converter which is adapted the power converter having the partial resonant soft switching mode, that makes switches operate when the resonant current or voltage becomes zero by making the resonant circuit partially at turning on and off of the switches with suitable layout of the resonant elements and switch elements in the converter. Also, this paper includes the analysis and simulation of the Partial Resonant type Buck-Boost Chopper.
A family of dual-DC-input (DI) dual-buck inverters (DBIs) is proposed by employing a DI switching cell as the input of traditional DBIs. Three power ports, i.e. a low voltage DC input port, a high voltage DC input port and an AC output port, are provided by the proposed DI-DBIs. A low voltage DC source, whose voltage is lower than the peak amplitude of the AC side voltage, can be directly connected to the DI-DBI. This supplies power to the AC side in single-stage power conversion. When compared with traditional DBI-based two-stage DC/AC power systems, the conversion stages are reduced, and the power rating and power losses of the front-end Boost converter of the DI-DBI are reduced. In addition, five voltage-levels are generated with the help of the two DC input ports, which is a benefit in terms of reducing the voltage stresses and switching losses of switches. The topology derivation method, operation principles, modulation strategy and characteristics of the proposed inverter are analyzed in-depth. Experimental results are provided to verify the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed DI-DBIs.
This paper proposed that a high power AC-DC buck converter topology of high efficiency using loss-less snubber operates with four chopper connecting a number of parallel circuit. To improve these, a large number of soft switching topologies included a resonant circuit have been proposed. And, some simulative resutls on computer is included to confirm the validity of the analytical results. The partial resonant circuit makes use of a inductor using step-down and a condenser of loss-less snubber. The result is that the switching loss is very low and the efficiency of system is high. And the snubber condenser used in partial resonant circuit makes charging energy regenerated at input power source of rresonant operation. The proposed conversion system is deemed the most suitable for high power applications where the power switching devices are used.
DC and small-signal ac characteristics are examined for a pulse-width modulated (PWM) dc-dc buck-boost converter with a peak voltage modulation (PVM) feedforward control. Circuit model is used to derive an expression for the output voltage in terms of the input voltage and load resistance. Small-signal circuit model is used to derive the input-to-output voltage transfer function (audiosusceptibility).
A novel lossless current sensing technique for a synchronous buck converter is presented. The inductor DCR method is generally used as a low cost and lossless current sensing technique of DC/DC converters. It is however difficult to obtain the accurate current value for the conventional DCR method because the inductor resistance varies depending on the operating frequency. In order to overcome this problem, an improved current sensing technique is proposed, which has the separated DC and AC sensing circuits. The concept and operation of the proposed method are explained and the experimental results are provided to show its effectiveness.
A digital controller with a low-power approach for point-of-load synchronous buck converters is discussed and compared with its analog counterpart to confirm its feasibility for system integration. The tri-mode digital controller IC in $0.35{\mu}m$ CMOS process is presented to demonstrate solutions that include a PID, quarter PID, and robust RST compensators. These compensators address the steady-state, stand-by, and transient modes according to the system operating point. An idle-tone free condition for ${\Sigma}-{\Delta}$ DPWM reduces the inherent tone noise under DC-excitation. Compared with that of the traditional approach, this condition generates a quasi-pure modulation signal. Experimental results verify the closed-loop performances and confirm the power-saving mechanism of the proposed controller.
